A cat deputy stood by his car down the road, standing on the sidewalk as he saw a convoy of black SUV's driving up to the side of the building. Their tires barely nudging the sidewalk as they all stopped, It was no question who they were, just simple unmarked cars for the Sheriff's Department. Surely they must have been transporting someone important, and important indeed.
Out the came back stepped the Sheriff himself, Sheriff Reno, His classic uniform and no-nonsense attitude toward his duties. He looked around as the other deputies that drove him were quick to his side, tightly guarding their boss. "All Units be advised, Sheriff is on scene, Maintain the perimeter" A voice said over his radio.
"10-4, I'm alright over here" He replied as he backed off from his parked patrol car and reached in to grab a small and clear sealed back, inside was a small sandwich. Grabbing it before looking around for another deputies, careful not to be seen eating while on duty. "Finally, I'm starvin" He said as he opened the back, letting the insolated smell of tuna brush right into his nostrils. It smelled like heaven to him, making him salivate over the sea food even more.
The cat opened wide, reading to take a big old bite before suddenly a figure brushed right past him, causing him to jump suddenly. The cat looked to who it was, It was a brown labrador running down the sidewalk with great speed. "Dumb Dog!" The cop shouted as he looked to his other side to see a cat running up to him, It was a female and she panted like she was out of breath, almost as if she was tailing the labrador. "Officer help, That Dog, He stole my purse!" She spoke. The deputy's ears perked up, knowing this wasn't just some dog running fast, it was a criminal who was trying to flee. "Don't worry ma'am, I'm on it!" He said, running off into the dog's direction.
The cat was concerned and frightening it might have been too late, turning the corner not seeing the labrador. Refusing to give in her kept going until he finally saw him, The Labrador with a brown purse in his mouth made a long hard look at the officer before turning off into an alley. The cat had smirked, the dog wanted to toy with him, but the cat didn't know and didn't mind, he was blinded by victory over the canine as he recognized the road he was on and recognized the alley he had ran into. "Ha, you're mine now" He muttered to himself as he turned to look down the alley way and see it was a dead end. Nothing but trash cans and littered soda cans within his way, looking at the labrador who was up against the wall, facing away from him.
"No where to run Mutt, Drop the purse and maybe I won't bash your tail in" He said, stepping closer as the Brown Labrador turned around to face the Deputy. None other than the infamous Zuma, he smiled at the deputy as he dropped the purse. However, it wasn't a purse at all, it was just a brown paper bag. It toppled over, letting plastic bottles and leaves topple over onto the floor.
"What the-"The deputy was confused, it wasn't a purse at all and in the items in side where valued close to nothing at all. The cat reached around for his radio to call in where he was and what he was doing, however it wasn't there. His radio was gone, He continuously padded around his side for his radio in case he had misplaced it, he knew it had it, but it just wasn't there. He then reached around on his other side for his gun, that wasn't there either. This was impossible, He was sure he had everything on him just a moment ago. Before he could inspect himself for anything else, He felt a hard flat object smack hard against the top of his skull, sending him limb and falling to the ground unconscious. His touch stuck out with his eyes shut, surely he was dozing about stars and cat nip by now. "Nice work Skye" Zuma said walking over, seeing the cockapoo holding a good-sized slab of wood she had used to knock out the deputy.
She gave a smile before Lily came around the corner, not needing to say much as she saw the unconscious cop. Holding the deputy's radio and gun as she came around the corner, she must've snatched it right off the deputy when she was close to him and made the false claim on Zuma. "Nice job you two, I guess Paw Patrol can hold its own. Phase 1 is half complete." She said, dragging the deputy around the corner of a dumpster deeper into the alleyway.
Moments later, Both Skye and Zuma patiently waited in the alley way against a dumpster, Their part was just beginning however, now what's left was the infiltrate the building the Mayor was going to hold his meeting in. Lily emerged around the corner of an air conditioning unit that stood high against a neighbouring building. Both dogs looked at her as she showed off her new look, the deputy's uniform that she had taken off of him. As for the deputy himself, his body fell over onto the pavement behind an air conditioning unit. His face smacking against the dirty floor covered in leftover food and grimy drain water.
"What about him?" Skye asked, letting Lily brainstorm a bit before digging through a toppled over trash bin, pulling out a dirty and stained towel. Throwing it over the unconscious cat to cover his body except for his head. "With any luck, Bystanders will just think hes some homeless guy, but enough about him. Time to put this plan to the test" She said, leading the dogs out of the alley way, walking back to the Deputy's patrol car that was parked on the side of the road. Lily dug through her new police vest in search of the key, digging around in each pocket and pouch before finally finding them. Gently pressing against a single button, letting the car unlock.
Lily slid over the hood like an action movie star, hoping right into the driver's seat as Zuma and Skye of course took their seats in the back, separated by a small mesh of cage from the front. Lily started the car like clockwork and drove off, slowly coming up to the front of the large and tall building, there were tons of deputies all around, and she was sure there were going to be double as many inside too.
The feline cops that looked at Lily just nudged their heads, their faces didn't give much expression, however the disguise seemed to be working fine. Lily turned off onto a minor road that led around the building, soon she found herself driving down into an underground parking lot with a guard post at the front, of course manned by a deputy.
"Play it cool, follow my lead" Lily whispered as she slowed the car down at the guard post, sticking her head out the window to look at the deputy. "How's it hangin, Mind opening the gate?" She asked with a chill smile. "Yeah sure, Lemme just…. Hold on a second" The deputy squinted, just as he was about to press the small button to lift the orange and white beam to let Lily in. Lily gave a small smile in response, trying to play it cool. The deputy eyed her before shifting his glance away from her to the obvious dogs in the backseat.
"Good catch, What'd they do?"
"O-Oh pfft, These two flea bags, Yeah I caught the labrador humping a fire hydrant in public" Lily said, obvious a ploy to ease the deputy's tensing. Seeming to work as the deputy snickered, making him more relaxed and ease to win over. The ridiculousness of Zuma's 'crime' even made Skye snicker a bit even, turning her head away so the Deputy couldn't see. Zuma however was mortified and embarrassed, even if it never happened.
"and the Cockapoo, I found her half intoxicated, making out with a stuffed toy in front of a group of kittens" Lily said, Skye almost immediately stopped her snickered and instead shared the same feeling of embarrassment Zuma did, regardless of if it happened or not. The deputy at the guard post however, couldn't contain himself, laughing at the sheer insanity of the dog's arrests. "Oh man, That's amazing" He tried to say in between his laughter.
"Yup, anyways, I'm just gonna link up with my Supervisor for a moment and then take these two lunes back to the station for processing." She said.
"I get you, Alright go on in" He said in between a chuckled, clicking the small button on his head, seeing the thin orange and white beam raise up, letting her drive on through. "What the heck Lily, Did you really have to do that" Skye almost shouted.
"Hey calm down, It's not like it actually happened, Besides, you try coming up with ridiculous crimes on the spot" She defended, driving along the underground parking lot of the large building, Lily looked out and she was amazed at the amount of police cars there were, almost every spot was taken except for one near the elevator that shined with an orange light.
Lily careful parked her car near there, Hoping out and inspecting the area, with the amount of cop cars parked, it wouldn't be surprising if one was down there with her. It was extremely quiet though, a bit too quiet. Once she was clear, she walked back over and opened the door for Skye and Zuma. Both canines hoped out and made their way over to the elevator. In the interior of the elevator was nice, very old English styled. However, Skye and Zuma weren't going to be seeing it again for a while, as Lily looked up inside to the small hatch at the lead top of the elevator.
"Cmon, get up there, before someone comes" She urged, letting Skye hop onto Zuma's back, The cockapoo wandered nervously before being able to swing open the small hatch. "Got it" She said, Giving one good hop on her hind legs, letting her grapple on the top with her two front paws.
Skye pulled herself up successfully, then leaning herself back out with her paw extended outward. Zuma readied himself as he padded in his own little pattern to build up his momentum. With one swift jump, he leapt high enough for Skye to grab hold of him and for Zuma himself pull himself up just like Skye had done. Although Zuma was a bit bigger in mass, he fit through with little trouble.
Lily breathed a sigh of relief as she walked over the buttons on the side panel of the elevator. The building had a max of 30 floors, it was incredible. Nevertheless, she ball-gamed where she might need to go, thinking it would be stupid to go straight to the top floor into the possibility where she might be found out, although she was out of the frying pan, she didn't want to jump right into the fire. Lily selected a moderately good floor to position herself, Floor 25. The light of the button lit a bright white as the elevator door slowly started to shut. Lily dusted herself off before suddenly seeing a hand slip right into the gap where the door was going to close. Yes, a Hand, The Hand of a Human.
The door halted to a stop before opening once again, Once opened clear Lily looked ahead to see it was him, Lou. "Excuse me" He said, walking over to floor panel and selecting the highest one, Floor 30. Stepping back and standing straight next to Lily as she didn't dare to make eye contact. Zuma and Skye recognized the voice from below them, their blood boiled at the sound of his voice. The internal instinct to just jump down and attack Lou for all he's done to them was immense, however both knew it would be suicide.
The door shortly closed after, and the platform of the elevator went up. The feeling was standard for Lily and Lou, for Zuma and Skye however it was a new feeling, a lot more buzzing and noises instead of the calming elevator music inside below them. "Good weather huh?" Lou stated.
"Huh…O-Oh yeah, Really nice weather, Good day for patrolling as a Deputy"
"Uh huh, You're patrolling the 25th floor?" Lou asked, seeing the 25th floor button already pressed. "Yup that's right" She replied.
"The Private Kitchen?" Lou stated clearly he knew this building better than she did. Lily was almost stunned; out of all the floors she could have picked, she just so happened to pick the one where there would be no security. "Well, you know, gotta make sure everywhere is safe" Lily replied.
"I guess so, The Sheriff likes everything to be secured, and I mean everything" He stated, clearly the Sheriff takes priority in having everything secured and checked. Lily chuckled at the newfound conundrum she placed herself in before suddenly feeling the Elevator stop.
'Floor 25'
The automated voice said as the doors separated from each other, Lily looked ahead to see a large kitchen teeming with chefs and waiters and cleaners all doing their duty. The smell of food flooded the entire floor even though multiple windows were open. Lily couldn't back out now, stepping forward nervously as she looked back at Lou who just waved a goodbye. 'Okay Okay Lily, Time to think on the fly, You can do this' She thought to herself as she remembered Zuma and Skye were still onto of the elevator and now she had no way of getting them now without acting suspicious.
The Elevator door closed as she looked ahead and saw a cluster of cooks suddenly looking at her, their glares were that of confusion as even they had no idea why a police officer was in the kitchen as well. "Well don't just stare, Go about what you were doing before" Lily said, trying to sound confident and seem like she was placed there by her duty. All the chefs looked at each other and shrugged as they did what they were told and got back to work. The sounds of sizzling on a stove and chopping of ingredients made Lily's stomach dance. 'Think Think Think, How do I get back up there?' She pondered to herself as she looked at multiple items around the kitchen. Looking around before seeing a line of aprons and bowties strung up on a hook against the wall. "Perfect" She silently muttered.
Zuma and Skye silently panicked, they didn't have to open the small hatch and look down to know Lily was now gone, instead just Lou who just stood patiently as the Elevator finally halted.
'Floor 30'
The voice said as the doors parted, Skye and Zuma listened carefully, hearing Lou's footsteps step off the elevator and walk away. Zuma looked back at Skye and nodded, knowing this was more than likely their chance. Zuma slowly opened the hatch, looking down to see if it was clear. "Let's go" He motioned as he jumped down, Skye following his lead. The Labrador stood back against the walls of the elevator, creepily peeking his muzzle out to look both ways, it was an empty hallway.
Zuma bolted out onto the hardwood polish tile, It was quite eerie with the number of artifacts and weird shaped relics that were left on tables. "Zuma, where are you going?" Skye asked, not really expecting a solid confident answer either way.
"I don't know, but anywhewe but hewe" He replied the Labrador said, walking up to a pair of French doors, it had markings and symbols etched onto its front, whatever was on the end was pretty important. Thinking that if Lily were with them, she'd usher them in without a doubt. Zuma hovered his ear close to the door, listening for any voice or sounds, it was just as silent as the hallway they were in. Zuma slowed opened the door to peak inside.
In the contents of the room were quite the sight, It was a whole penthouse fit for a head of state, or in this case, a Mayor. Zuma stepped inside eyeing all of the luxuries inside, A flat screen TV, a chandelier, Even a rug made from the exotic skin of a wolf. Apart from that, being on the top floor, it was given the privilege of having a stunning view. Some of the walls were instead just thick squares of glass as well as a balcony even.
Skye looked around for herself and awed at just as much as the Labrador was doing, even as something as the stairs were fancied out, marble tiles with polished wood. "Wait…Do you heaw that?" Zuma asked as his ears perked up like a stick, his tail high as he tried to detect wherever the sound came from. Soon after Skye heard it too, it was small taps that echoed slightly in a different room, taps that reminded them both of a person walking.
"Someone's coming" The muttered at the same time to each other, both of them panicked and dashed at random parts of the room for concealment. Zuma found himself stuffed inside of a wine cellar in the corner of the room, Skye used her small body to her advantage and shoved herself under a small trolly covered by a blanket.
The two waited, Zuma peaking out from several hoes inside the closet like wine cellar as Skye nudging her muzzle against the cloth that covered her body, just so slightly that she could see. "Well, I'm glad we could all get our pickings before we could start" One cat said, He led a small group of cats out from another part of the penthouse as well as a human that towered over all of them, of course there was no mistaking who it was.
"Everyone have a seat" The cat insisted, one by one they all sat. Each had a distinct look to them. Of course, the Sheriff was there, with his green and yellow striped uniform, taking his seat just being gently taking off his campaign hat and placing it on the small table in front of him.
Beside him sat a female cat, she seemed gentle and lady-like, Her fur was pitch black, but her eyes were baby blue. She wore distinct and bright white as her colour of choice, a white shinny studded necklace with a white studded bow tied to the tip of her tail and her neck. She was sophisticated, there was no doubt about that.
Beside her sat a Brown cat, bit nervous as his tail flickered from right to left and anywhere it left like, not staying in one state for too long as he looked all around. Seemingly quite introverted as he refused to look anyone in the eye, that is before he took out a pair of dark sunglasses, putting them on in a flick of a move. Out of nowhere turning from Introverted to a confident and cool cat, slouching back in his seat tail swaying from side to side in a calm way. It was like a total mood shift to Skye and Zuma. A mood shift that made the female cat take a noticeable shine to.
To his right was another cat, He couldn't be bothered to eye anyone in the first place, The cat was tan and white patched all around, too concerned with a single book he was reading. He had a neutral but serious look on his face, very strict by the looks of his persona.
And of course there was Lou and the Mayor himself, The Mayor having brown fur and patches of grey here and there. "How's your hand?" The Mayor Cat asked, seeing Lou clench and release his fist as if to show it was alright, which it was, the bite mark he had received from Marshall seemed to heal greatly for him. "I'm fine Dad don't worry about it" He said, coming to the shock of Zuma and Skye.
'Dad?!' They both thought, shouting out in their minds. It was such a weird and big pill to swallow, the human was the legal kin to the cat, It was unthinkable to them. "He's right to be concerned Lou, You should have watched yourself around those dogs. They're cunning and vicious" The female black cat said, whipping her claw out to emphasize her point. "I handled it fine Aunty Susanna, really, Sure those 3 got away, but 3 are already inside the concrete kennel as speak" He said.
The title of 'Aunty' stuck with Zuma and Skye, That must be the Mayor's sister. "Except for one…" Sheriff Reno spoke up, eyeing Lou. "Ryder, I've been trying to get him to sign over his Headquarters in Adventure Bay, I'm telling you I've done everything, Reduced his sleep, Cut his Food portions, I've done it all" Lou expressed.
Skye and Zuma gasped at the hearing of their leader and friend, being tortured in such a way. It made them sick to their stomachs and fuming with rage to just jump out and getting revenge for all the pain he's caused Ryder, but their urges to do such a thing needed to be quelled….for now at least.
"How about I give this 'Ryder' boy a try, I am quite soft with my words and convincing if I do say so myself" Susanna said, her words as sweet as he attitude, her weapon of choice when it came to winning someone over, her brother for example. "I guess so, Reno see to it" He gestured toward the Sheriff, the cat gestured his head in understanding in response.
"Once we get control of his 'Lookout', We can pressure the town of Adventure Bay and their Mayor into signing over their jurisdiction over to me, Joining the county. Once then we can do the same thing over there as we do here. We clamp do on the Dog's and strangle their freedom until they have no where else to go. After that, Adventure City will be next" They all smiled and Gleed at the thought in their minds as Skye and Zuma had the same image in their heads, but all terror instead.
"A society were Cats take control instead of those savage Dogs, It'll only be a matter of time before it all. I owe a great portion of our current success to my son, after all, lets not forget it was his idea to fool Paw Patrol into not only coming here, but to get rid of that traitorous Judge Jello and that sneak Maple" That brown and grey cat said, Lou nodded at the admiration he got, each of them clapping their paws except for the tan and white one, not taking his eye of his book as he licked his paw casually and flipping his page. "Good Job" was all he said.
All ceased their giving of thanks as they heard a series of knocks coming from the front French doors, all had turned their heads suspiciously, before the Mayor had called out. "Come in!" He shouted. Skye and Zuma watched as a single cat gentled pushed the door open walking in, tugging a small cart of drinks. However, the most eye catching was who was serving, it was Lily. She had thrown away the deputy disguise in favour a waitress.
"Drinks" She said as she tugged the tray over to the group, One by one each grabbed a drink of sparkling water, even the Tan and white one, gently grabbing a glass, still refusing to take his eyes off of his book. Lily with one swift, but clearly intentional, move of her paw, knocking over a small glass. The glass it self toppling over onto the tray, letting its contents spill over onto the floor.
"Oh my, My Apologies, Let me get that" Lily said, grabbing a towel that hooked to the tray to clean up the mess, her whiskers to the floor as she soaked up the liquid, just as she did, slowly passing back the small table in the middle of where everyone sat. Lily had inconspicuously gently stuck a black circular button underneath the table.
It was a bug, What a clever move of hers. "My apologies" She said, re-emerging up with a smile. "Its no worries dearie, Can you please bring us some wine from cellar?" Susanna asked. Lily gave a fake smile once again, before padding off to the wine cellar.
Sending shocks through her body as she opened it to see Zuma, cramped and in need of help. Lily was wide eyed as she stared at the Labrador. Zuma urged Lily to be quiet and act like he wasn't there, giving a point gesture behind her toward the trolley. Lily turned her head to see Skye's muzzle poking out from under the cloth that hung over it. Lily leaned into Zuma and handed him a black bug, like the one she had placed under neath the small table. "Plant this somewhere when you get the chance" She had ordered, not even waiting for a response before closing the closet like cellar doors.
"What's the holdup Sweetheart?" The black cat asked to the waitress, getting a bit Impatient. "Oh, there was no good ones, I'm just going to check over here" She responded, walking over to the trolley as she kneeled down to face Skye, brushing the cloth a bit so they could see each other, doing the same with Skye as she did was Zuma, handing her a bug to place.
"Plant this somewhere, then when you're done, meet me on the bottom floor, laundry room" She said. "No luck?" Susanna asked once more. "I am so sorry, Nothing here just suits your elegance, I must go now, Enjoy your waters" Lily said, walking out, giving a look back at the Cellar and the Trolley, knowing Skye and Zuma were watching here. "She seemed…Familiar, but I can't put my finger on it" Lou said, she in fact seen her, but in different attire.
"Nothing important, Anyways, What's the situation with the 3 that had gotten away, I presume they're still by that river village where the other mongrels are"
"I would assume so, Just say the word sir and I can gather enough deputies to go down there and arrest them" Sheriff Reno said with a bow of his head. "We can't, as much as I wish to do that, If we just go around arresting dogs for no reason, The Federal Government will take notice and they'll put a stop to our plans, Last thing I want is the FBI to stick their nose in my business" The mayor said, quick amazing as he spoke directly into the bug placed by an FBI Agent.
"Aside from Jello, I have all the Judges on my sides, Isn't that right Maxwell?" The mayor gestured toward the Tan and White cat, yet again, still reading his book. "Mhm" The cat mumbled. "Ughhh, Why do we even invite him, He just sits around and reads his dumb book" Susanna snarled and scoffed.
"For your information, I am reading the County's Criminal Sections and Offenses, Quite an interesting piece of Judiciary text. It is also for my work as Head of the Judiciary Council of County Judges. As instead of you, who just runs a small butcher diner" He held his head high, as if more sophisticated.
Susanna seemed offended at the insult as she immediately snapped back at the Head Judge. "Oh yeah, Well at least I can juggle a fun life and my work, If you like your book so much then why do you just marry it" She said.
"Under Section 462.1 of the County Criminal Code, Marriage of an inanimate object is marked as a criminal offense and can be punished of either 3 Months in Community Service or a max sum of a $2000 Dollar fine on conditions of an expiration date" Maxwell said, letting the statement fly over his head.
"Oh my gosh, You are such a killjoy, unlike some cats, Tyran" Susanna said, brushing up against the Brown furred cat who still relaxing in his seat, sipping his sparkling water. "You know it Babe" He responded.
"Call my sister 'Babe' one more time and you're done for" The brown and grey furred feline threatened. Despite being put in his place, he was still relaxed with his Aviators. "Griffin, I told you, I'm a fully grown cat, You can stop trying to police my love life!" She urged. Her brother ignoring the comment all together and instead sat back in his chair to relax.
"Welp, this talk was useless" He said, brushing out a sigh of tiredness and frustration. One by one each of them got up from their seats, stretching their bodies up and out, even Maxwell put down his book as the whole group walked over to where they first came. "I call dibs on the Tuna crackers" Tryan said with the flick of his shades.
"Such a child…" Maxwell commented under his breath. Just as it was clear, Skye and Zuma emerged from their hiding spot. They needed to find a place to plant these bugs, and fast while they still can leave undetected. Zuma ran and placed it behind a painting, quite an easy spot. The cockapoo turned to Skye, she was having trouble where to put it, she looked all around but couldn't find a good place. Seeing a small land line on a desk, she ran forward, planting the bug right underneath the phone, But just as she did….
"Don't move a muscle Mutt" She heard from her side, Zuma heard it too as he raced overstepping in front of Skye to protect her, in front he saw Lou holding his pistol right at the lab. "Quite impressive you both were able to sneak up here undetected, I'll give you that. However, leaving is going to be very different story" He threatened.
"Lou, what's going on….A-Are those…Dogs?!" Griffin the Mayor cat could barely believe his eyes, stopping in his tracks as he looked at them. "Not just any dogs dad, They're Paw Patrol, The ones that got away from me" He clarified.
"So tell me, Where's your Dalmatian friend, huh. Oh that's right, He caught a bullet to the paw, I can assure you I'm a better shot now" He said as he gripped the gun tighter, Zuma stood his ground, his heart racing at the prospect of pain and even worse, death.
Time stood still for a few moments, It was a tense scene as all stood silent until Skye realized and looked over to her side, something she hadn't noticed from before. A Laundry Chute, The in the wall was just big enough for even Zuma to fit through. "Zuma…When I give the signal, Run for the Laundry Chute" She whispered.
"W-What signal?" He whispered back, Just as she did. Skye, in one fast motion, zagged around Zuma and right at Lou. Lou was taken back at the sheer and blatant defiance even with his gun, Lou almost fell backward as Skye shouted out. "GO!" She spoke. Zuma hesitating for a moment before running toward the Laundry chute. Skye bit down on Lou's thigh before being shaken off. The cockapoo was flung back into the Living room of the penthouse, right up against the wall where the Laundry Chute.
She looked up to see Zuma in one jump, leaped himself into the Laundry chute, hearing nothing as he went in, Zuma was either really quiet or the Chute was a big straight drop downward. Skye tried to get herself back up, hoping to place her front paws up against the Chute to pull herself up. Being too weak from the violent throw, Lou got a hold of her first, holding her against the wall.
Lou looked at her with evil eyes, wanting to kill her for being nothing more than a pest to his plans. With no other options, Skye resorted to dirty tactics. Forging a wad of saliva in her mouth to spit at the human, causing him to cover his face. "You Mongrel!" He shouted and she once again placed her front paws up, trying to pull herself up. Finally, she did, Reno tried to grab her, but it was too late. Her body fell through, and she felt herself falling at a crazy speed downwards.
"ALL UNITS, WE HAVE INTRUDERS IN THE BUILDING, A LABRADOR AND A COCKAPOO. BOTH ARE TRYING TO ESCAPE THROUGH THE LAUNDRY CHUTE, I WANT EVERY SINGLE DEPUTY ON THIS CHANNEL TO SECURE THIS BUILDING. NOW!" Reno shouted into his radio, In one radio call turning this whole building into a fortress.
"Cmon Cmon, Where are they" Lily stood by, taping her paws against the floor in impatience. She stood there, out of her waitress uniform and back into her deputy disguise. Thinking it was best to have it on to try to leave. All around her were numerous dryers and washers, and outside the ceilings were large shaft that shot down into separate baskets full of clothes. Lily continuously eyed the door thinking they would come from there, instead she was taken back as she heard screaming coming from one of the Laundry Chutes.
Her eyes flashed up as she walked over and looked up directly into one of them, seeing a small figure rapidly getting larger and larger as it came down at a blazing speed. Hearing it screams, not knowing if it was terrified or genuinely having fun from the fall. Soon getting closer for her to realize it was Zuma, moving out of the way just in time for his body to slam into the giant basket of clothing and towels. "Welp, I guess that's one way to get down here quick, Wheres Skye?" Lily asked, Zuma shot his head up, dazed from the fall and sudden halt, hearing a second pair of screaming coming from the same chute. Skye's body slamming into the basket right next to Zuma.
"We need to go, Now!" Skye proclaimed.
"I think I heard some voices!" One voice said from behind the door of the Laundry room, Lily shoved the two heads of the Labrador and Cockapoo down into the basket of clothing. Just after a group of deputies busted into the room. "Did you see anything?" One of the deputies asked to Lily.
"Nope, Was just checking this basket, Its clear, You all should check the other baskets" She replied, All the deputies had seen nothing wrong with that idea and decided to do just that, rushing over to check each basket. Lily now seeing her opportunity, pushing the basket on wheels out the door. Surely it would be suspicious, but all the cats were so busy checking each basket with caution they barely noticed her.
"It's a straight shot back to the car and then we're out of here" Lily whispered into the basket as she continuously pushed it down the hall, One by one she saw more deputies flooding in the direction she came in, trying not to look at them and make eye contact. She had made it to the underground parking lot, seeing barely any deputies around just as she had entered.
"Looks like we're home free, Good work" She said, opening the trunk of the patrol car and urging the two to get into the back, sitting in the backseat was out of the question. Skye and Zuma hopped out of the basket and into the back, curling up against trunks and racks of police gear that poked into their side.
Lily closed the trunk and hopped into the driver seat, twisting the key and driving out on her way to the guard post where she had come in. Only to see there was a problem, there were other Deputies trying to leave as well. Lily could see the cars were being searched from top to bottom, no spot was safe from the search as even the deputies themselves were questioned why they were leaving.
"Hey, Turn off the car!" One deputy approached Lily's patrol car, slamming his paw against her hood to get her attention. "What's going on?" She asked.
"We need to search all cars trying to leave the scene, Sheriff's Orders" He replied. "Step out!" He ordered to Lily, Lily trying to play dumb, asserting she was a deputy just like the rest of them to see if that would get out of it, however it didn't work.
"I said Step out!" Lily had seen the deputy now unholstering his weapon, Other deputies from the front of the line come to aid, all pointing their guns at Lily, employing her to do as she was told and to step out, submitting her car to search. Zuma and Skye heard all the commotion, their hearts began to race as they knew they had been caught.
"Okay Okay, I'm stepping out" Lily trying to calm all of them down, before in one sudden more, ducking under her window and throwing the car into reverse. Slamming her hind paw on the pedal and seeing the car reversing backwards. Skye and Zuma tumbled around in the trunk of the car, Lily straighten out her car, turning it around so she could drive forward but in the opposing direction of the guard gate, all while hearing bangs and shots of gunfire echoing in the parking lot.
"NEW PLAN!" Lily shouted as she dodged and raced inside the Parking lot, cutting turns and drifts like it was a maze, because it basically was. Spotting an unfinished part of the parking lot at also lead upward, blocked off by board, bright tape, and traffic cones. "Hold onto something back there!" She suggested, throwing the car forward, letting it gather up all the speed it could before it drove up the unfinished second exit of the parking out, letting the car become airborne for a few good seconds into the open sun. Landing right up against the wall of a separate building, without hesitation, driving full speed down the road away from the tower. Even throwing on her police sirens for unsuspecting people to move aside, making it even easier to get away.
"I think we're in the clear now!" She said.
"We planted the bugs like you said, and they also were talking about our friend Ryder" Skye reminded the cat of their deal.
"Both of you upheld you end of the deal so Its fair I do the same, I'll talk to Klaus and see what we can organize to bust out your friend in the Jail" Lily replied.
"Wait, What about the others, Chase, Rocky, and Rumble?"
"They're Dogs like you two, They wont be in the Jail, They'll be in the Concrete Kennel, We'll need more time and planning to find out how we're going to bust them out, They won't be forget, don't worry about them" Lily reminded, She was right. Getting Ryder out even though was going to be tricky, but it was must less complicating than breaking into the Prison inside of a Mountain.
Skye and Zuma felt sad they couldn't their other canines' colleagues out, but at least getting Ryder out was a start. A start they were willing to take now that they knew more about the inner circle of cats that ran the county, Griffin the mayor and his human son Lou. Both of them were prime targets with Susanna, Maxwell, Reno, and Tryan.
