In the village of konoha in the office of the hokage, Tsunade Senju cried as she had seen what her godson, Naruto Uzumaki-Namikaze, had become after the civilian council banished him for failing to retrieve their precious Uchiha after he left the village and was deemed a traitor. Suddenly there was a knock at her office door. She quickly calmed herself down and cleaned her face of her tears and answered, "come in."
Slowly the door opened to reveal her assistant Shizune.
"Lady Tsunade, Hinata Hyuuga is here to see you." She said.
"Yes of course. Send her in please thank you." Tsunade said. Shizune nodded before stepping aside and a young girl with violet pupilless eyes and raven blue hair stepped into the office.
"You wanted to see me lady Hokage?" The young girl asked.
"Yes I did. I have a mission for you. Apparently Naruto has been found.." Tsunade began.
"You mean he's alive?! Can he come home?!" Hinata asked with hope in her voice.
"Yes his banishment has been rescinded. Unfortunately Naruto himself refuses to come back. Which is why I'm sending you to find and convince him to return. I must warn you he won't be as you remember him."
"What do you mean? Did something happen to him? I know his chackra was sealed but what could have happened to him to make him unrecognizable?"
It was at this point Tsunade handed the young Hyuuga heiress the letter and photo Naruto sent back. When she looked at the photo she gasped and dropped it tears in her eyes as she collapsed to her knees in shock and shook her head. She looked to the Hokage and asked, "how?"
"Apparently, he was working as a scientist and was murdered for reasons I can't fathom. He died in an explosion that had caused his body and face to be disfigured. How he survived I'm unsure of as well but please don't let this dissuade you from finding him." Tsunade said.
"I will try, but can you fix him if he does return? You're the best medical ninja in the world surely you can do something?"
"With his chackra network sealed and the extent of the damage he may be untreatable. Even with his network open again I don't know if it's possible but I will do everything I can. All you must focus on is finding him and bringing him home."
"Yes Lady Hokage." Hinata said.
"Good. Here is his last known location. Find Naruto and bring him home."
"Yes ma'am." Hinata said before bowing and turning to leave.
"One more thing." Tsunade said stopping her.
"Yes?" Hinata said turning. Tsunade walked towards the young Hyuuga and placed her hands on her shoulders.
"I know you love him but try to remember he may not be the same as you remember him." Tsunade said calmly. At this Hinata blushed a bit but nodded. Tsunade smiled and let her go before the young Hyuuga left the office and closed the door. Tsunade sighed before going to her desk and sitting down before opening a secret drawer and pulling out a bottle of saké and drinking from it.
'Even if he doesn't come back, the council will have much to answer for' she thought.
