Random lines of dialogue I'm not sure where they were going
I never thought we would be friends.
She didn't sell her soul, but maybe it felt like it.
"There is someone else like me out there and they're trapped in a tank somewhere."
"You know I love you right?"
His nail dug in under her chin. She nodded.
"Say it. Say you know I love you. You made me do that. You made me hit you, it was for your own good."
"Did you seriously just say that? I get that you wish it never happened but it did now deal with it like a fucking adult."

"Isn't there like, unfair power dynamics in their relationship?"
"You may alright without me, but I'm not without you."
"You may not have managed to get Zac back to normal, but you managed to save me. So that's not a failure."

It was like being unable to breath and then finally getting the sweet relief of oxygen and finally being able to relax.
That's what it felt it like.
Steam rose from the darkened water, the clumps of bubbles from the seemingly scentless bubblebath doing an attempt at masking the colour.
She walked slowly, every step enunciated clearly.
"I am still very angry at you, but I need to talk to someone and you're probably the only one who understands."

The stone walls of the harbour lay empty. The tide was too far out to fill it with sea water. The sand along the bottom was grey and speckled with seaweed. The ruins of boats, some still moored, were scattered like the toys of a child.
Walking was hard. The black trainers she'd found were too big and her heels kept lifting out of them.
The sand gave way under her feet. It was heavy wet sand and she struggled to lift her feet up high enough.
The tight trousers she'd liberated cut in behind her knees. While the t-shirt was far too big and hung down half way down the top part of her legs.
"If there ever was to be a devil upon this earth, it would be you. No doubt about it."
" Aww. You're too kind. "
" Power isn't measured the same anymore. "
" I want to say it and mean it."
"I know what I am and I'm not letting you or anyone else change that."
"Do all Mermaids have really close friendships or are those two together?"
"They're together. Have been for the last two months at least. They're cute together."
