On the Egg Carrier Deck everyone had recovered from the crash.
"Let's go!" Knuckles said.
"Right!" Tails said and chuckled.
Then they moved out with Sonic running ahead of them.
"Later, guys!" she said.
On the Cockpit.
"Quick! Launch attack!" Eggman said.
"Yes, sir!" Decoe said.
"Yes, sir!" Bocoe said.
At the deck Tails looked up in surprise as several missiles were fired at Sonic, but she was able to dodge them all.
"He's turning back!" Knuckles said and Sonic stopped in front of Tails.
"Tails. You okay?" she asked.
"Uh-huh!" he said and took off the bandages.
"Come on!" she said and another missile almost hit her creating a hole in the floor.
"I'll meet up with you later. Now's my chance to search for the rest of that Master Emerald!" Knuckles said and leapt through the hole.
"But Knuckles!" Tails said.
"Don't sweat it, Tails. You and I can look for Amy. Let's go before they launch another attack." Sonic said and Tails flew after her.
"We missed them, Doctor!" Decoe said.
"Now what?" Bocoe asked.
"They won't get far." Eggman said.
Gamma, was standing nearby, was still seeing visions of Lily when Eggman called him.
"Oh Gamma? Report to the control deck immediately. I have a job for you." Eggman said over the radio.
Meanwhile Amy and Lily stopped running once they hear the intercom.
"Now if only we can find a way out." Amy said.
Suddenly Bocoe and Decoe appeared in front of her.
"We got you!" Bocoe said.
"Yeah!" Decoe said.
Amy drew her hammer.
"I don't think so!" she said and they hench-bots sweatdropped.
"Please, calm down!" Bocoe said.
"Back off!" she said and raised her hammer above her head, but a laughing Eggman grabbed it.
"Going so soon?" he asked.
"Oh Eggman? Don't you think you oughta pick on somebody your own size?" someone said and they looked up to see Sonic and Tails above them.
Amy was delighted.
"You did come..." she said. "Get out of my way!" she said mad.
With renewed determination, she hammered Eggman and his hench-bots away, then slammed her hammer onto the wall, causing Sonic and Tails to fall onto Eggman.
"We gotcha. Give up?" Sonic said then got closer to his ear.
"I guess so..." he said.
Decoe extended a claw to capture Lily.
"No! Lily!" Amy said.
"Let her go, Decoe!" Sonic said.
As Amy tried to retrieve Lily, Eggman got up and approached Lily.
"Boys, keep your eyes on the birdie." he said.
"Yes, Doctor!" Decoe and Bocoe said.
Then Eggman pushed Amy away.
"Now then..." he said and took Lily's collar. "Let's have it. You won't be needing this. Nice birdie..." he said and activated the collar, releasing a Chaos Emerald that fell into his open hand.
"Look! It's a Chaos Emerald!" Tails said.
Amy gasped.
"Lucky me. Give back the bird." Eggman said as Decoe moved the claw in Amy's direction, and she grabbed Lily.
"Lily." she said and cuddled her. "You're safe." she said then Gamma entered.
"Did you call, Dr. Eggman? What is your wish?" he asked.
"It's you."
"How about a bit of target practice?" Eggman said.
"Yes, Doctor." Gamma said and Amy stood up.
"No!" she said.
"Aim for the blue one." Eggman said.
"You gotta catch me first!" Sonic said and Bocoe and Decoe cheered.
"Yay! This should be fun!" they said.
"Go for it!" Sonic said to Gamma.
"Ready... Aim..." Gamma said.
"Don't shoot, robot! It's Eggman that's making him act this way." Amy said.
"Huh?" Sonic said.
"He's really nice."
Gamma pointed its gun at Sonic and opened fire but she dodged.
"Robot!" Amy said.
Gamma activated its jetpack and continued its attack. The resulting explosions rocked the ship.
In the hallway.
"What's going on?" Chris said.
"Beats me." Big said.
"Please! Stop shooting!" Amy said.
But Gamma didn't stop. Instead, its assault started ripping chunks of the ship apart.
"No!"
Sonic used the debris as leverage to get to Gamma's level.
"Just missed me that time." she said with her arms crossed.
Then she used the chunk of the ship to block Gamma's lasers, then kicked it at Gamma. As she landed, she kicked another chunk at Gamma.
Gamma landed hard in the ground.
Then he stopped when he saw Amy standing in front of him.
"Leave him alone, Sonic." she said.
"This doesn't concern you, Amy. Stay out of the way." she said.
"You can't hurt him! He doesn't mean to be bad."
Sonic wasn't impressed. Amy started to get teary.
"He set us free." she said.
Finally Sonic relented.
"Okay, if you say so. A friend of yours is a friend of-" she started then an explosion rocked the Egg Carrier.
"Hey! You guys! The ship! I have a feeling we're losing altitude!" Tails said.
"What is happening?" Eggman said.
"I don't know, Doctor!" Decoe said.
"I think we're falling!" Bocoe said.
"Impossible!" Eggman said and ran inside the ship.
"Wait for us!" Decoe and Bocoe said and followed him.
"Eggman's running away. Maybe we should follow him." Tails said.
"No sweat; I'll take care of him. You find a way to get Amy and Lily off of this thing." Sonic said.
"Mr. Robot, can you hear me? Are you okay?" Amy asked.
"Shouldn't we stick together?" Tails asked.
"You don't have much time to lose, Tails. Hurry up." Sonic said.
"But..."
"Come on, Tails, old buddy. You're my right-hand man."
Tails looked down briefly before nodding.
"Ah... Hm... Okay." he said.
"Atta boy!" she said and ran inside the ship.
"He's really hurt." Amy said.
"Let's go, Amy!" Tails said.
"We can't leave. Mr. Robot?" she said and Gamma's optical sensors blink to life. "Hey, he's awake! Oh, thank goodness you're all right! You were knocked for quite a loop. I was afraid you might never wake up."
"You saved my life." Gamma said.
"I was glad to do it. Just returning the favor." she said and Tails' namesake spun, and picked her up. "Goodbye again! Thank you for everything!" "Goodbye again! Thank you for everything!" she said as he carried her away.
"Thank... you..." Gamma said and activated its jetpack and flew away.
In the hallway Chris and Big came across a door. Then it opened.
"That's him! That's Froggy!" Big said.
Froggy was trapped in a tiny cage containing a little water. The cage was on a small column, and all around it was an abyss.
"Let's hurry!" Chris said then another explosion rocked the ship. "Ah... What was that explosion?"
They noticed the state of the area. The ship listed, causing the cage to slide and Froggy to panic.
"Froggy can't get out!" Big said.
"Just stay calm." Chris said.
At Station Square outskirts Tails and Amy approached the ground with waiting with the car.
"Hey! Tails! Amy! Down here!" Chuck said.
Soon they were driving away.
"It's a good thing I followed you." Chuck said and Tails looked up at the Egg Carrier.
"Sonic's still up there." he said.
At the Egg Carrier hallway explosions rocked the ship.
"Ow! What the...?" someone said.
Knuckles picked himself up after falling through a hole caused by damage to the ship. He picked up a bag he had been carrying.
"Now that I found the rest of the Master Emerald, I'm outta here!" he said.
As he navigated the ship, he saw the spirit of Tikal. Instantly a vision occurs.
"Not again..." he said then saw fire everywhere. "This is getting ridiculous." he said and ran up to the Master Emerald altar, where Tikal was lying on the ground.
A few Chao were near her.
"Hey! Are you okay?" he asked.
"I... I did my best to stop them... but Father and the others would not listen to me. I don't... know what to do..." she said and closed her eyes as tears well up in them.
Suddenly they heard the roar of a creature.
"Wha... What's that?" he said.
Tikal looked up at the temple.
Knuckles saw the Master Emerald atop the altar.
"Who are you?" he asked.
Immediately Tikal got up and started running toward the Master Emerald and Knuckles ran after her.
"Hey! Come back!" he said.
Then a light blinded him, and he was taken back to the present.
At the Egg Carrier hallway.
"What's happening? There must be some reason why I'm being shown these things." he said.
As the Egg Carrier dropped below cloud level, Big ran around the room, panicking.
"Calm down, Big! Relax! Try not to panic!" Chris said.
Soon they drank drinks from a vending machine.
"Feeling better now?" Chris asked.
"I think so..." Big said.
"Well, that's good."
A few minutes later they were in Froggy's room Chris was climbing out on Big's fishing pole extending toward Froggy.
"Be careful!" Big said as Chris nearly reached the cage, but missed and nearly fell into the abyss.

"I-I almost fell! I don't know if I can hold on any longer! I'm sorry, Big; it's just no use. I can't reach him from here!" Chris said.
Big appeared to be struggling with the fishing pole.
"Don't give up. Maybe it'll be easier if I hold you out a little bit more." he said but instead of heading back, Chris tried again.
This time he reached Froggy.
"Got him!" he said.
"All right! Hurry! Let's get out of here!" Big said.
They ran through the deck with Froggy ran out onto the deck, only to see Chaos 4 and Eggman in his Eggmobile.
"Oh no! It's Eggman!" Chris said.
Eggman chuckled as Chaos menaced them.
Then he noticed Froggy in Big's possession.
"Well, well... Trying to get the jump on me, eh?" Eggman said. "Chaos, this freaky Froggy has a most unusual tail, if you catch my meaning." he said to Chaos.
"Quick, let's make a run for it!" Chris said.
"Yeah." Big said.
They fled, but Chaos leapt in front of them to cut them off. Big ran into Chaos, causing him to drop Froggy.
"Put him down!" Chris said.
Eggman had already picked up Froggy.
He squeezed him, causing him to cough up the Chaos Emerald Eggman then added the Chaos Emerald from Lily to his hand with a cloth.
"And now, the amazing Eggman will do some magic. Two Emeralds! And now, to make them both disappear!" he said and tossed them both to Chaos causing it to evolve into Chaos 6. "Now I know you had a big lunch today, Chaos, but I hope you saved room for some yummy dessert! Enjoy!" he said and floated above Chaos in the Eggmobile, and dropped Froggy into Chaos.
"No!" Chris said.
"Hang on, Froggy, I'll save you!" Big said and charged toward Chaos.
"Stay back, Big!" Chris said and big was stuck to Chaos. "That'll work." he said and climbed onto Big in an effort to get to Froggy.
Then he reached Froggy.
"I got you, Froggy." he said.
"Well, Chaos?" Eggman said.
Chaos whipped out its tail toward Chris and Big.
Eggman shrugged.
"Gotcha!" he said.
Chaos absorbed Chris and Big. Froggy's tail disappeared, causing it to grow on Chaos.
"Heheh!"
Suddenly Sonic burst out of a nearby wall.
"It's Sonic!" Eggman said.
"Holy cow! That's Chris in there!" Sonic said. "Hang on!" she said and Chaos extended several spines to attack her with. "I'm comin', Chris!" she said and used the spines as leverage to get on to his back.
Chris weakly smiled.
Then Sonic tried to reach for him through Chaos, but Chaos raised a part of itself to eject her. Chris was shocked, and Eggman breathed a sigh of relief.
"Now, Chaos! Let's whip that hedgehog into shape!" he said.
Sonic got up to dodge another tentacle.
However, she got knocked to the ground by another and Eggman laughed.
"Tenderize her with your tendrils, Chaos!" he said.
"SONIC!" Chris said.
"Hold on, Chris. I'll get you out. Just hang tight." Sonic said and looked to see why the tentacle wasn't attacking her. "What the...?"s he said and looked up to see Knuckles holding up the tentacle. "Hey, Knuckles!"
"Don't worry. We'll get them out of here!" Knuckles said.
"Yeah? How?"
"I'll give ya a hint!" he said then chuckled and held up his fist.
"Oh... Shovel Claw, huh?"
"You got a problem with that?"
"Nope, no problem here, but if you get too close to that thing, it might suck that claw right in."
"We gotta figure out some way to get through!" Knuckles said as she got up. "There must be a weak spot hidden somewhere in that overgrown jellyfish!"
"Hey, hold the phone there, buddy. Do you see what I see?"
"That's it!"
They smiled at each other. Knuckles destroyed the tentacle before donning a Shovel Claw.
"Ready, Knuckles?" Sonic asked.
"Ready! Let's go!" Knuckles said and leapt into the air. "Now, Shovel Claw!" he said and slashed away Chaos' hide, exposing its core. "Go for it!"
Sonic home attacked the core, destroying Chaos 6 and causing it to explode into a watery mess. Eggman cried out. A soaking wet Chris was gasping for air, while Big held Froggy.
"Hey, Froggy?" he said.
Knuckles picked up one of the Chaos Emeralds.
"There should be one more Emerald around here." he said.
"Hey Chris, you doin' okay?" Sonic asked and he nodded.
"Mhm. Only problem is, how do we get off of this thing?" he said.
"We'll use the X-Tornado. Easy!"
Meanwhile, Eggman was making his getaway by using to oars to "row" through the air.
"Doctor, wait!" Bocoe said.
"You can't leave us here!" Decoe said.
"Where do you think you're going?" Sonic asked.
"None of your business!" Eggman said.
"Watch out, Doctor!" Decoe and Bocoe said.
Then he grappled with the Eggmobile.
"Let go of me, you hideous hedge-rat!" Eggman said.
"Sonic!" Chris said.
"Don't worry. She can take care of herself." Knuckles said. "She has been fighting him for years."
They saw that Big and Froggy were already in the X-Tornado.
"Sure is neat, huh, Froggy?" he said.
"What's he doing?" Knuckles said.
"Don't touch anything, Big!" Chris said.
"What if he tries to fly that thing?"
"Big, wait for us!"
He pressed a button that started the X-Tornado's engines.
Chris and Knuckles raced toward the X-Tornado.
"Uh-oh! I have a feeling we're in big trouble, Froggy!" Big said.
"Stay where you are!" Chris said.
"Too late!"
At the press of another button, the X-Tornado accelerates forward and begins to fall off the Egg Carrier.
"No!" Knuckles said.
"Big, come baaack!" Chris said.
"Where is everyone?" Decoe said.
"Search me." Bocoe said.
"Oh well." Decoe said and they leapt off the Egg Carrier and activated parachutes.
"No use hanging around here." Bocoe said.
"You can say that again." Decoe said.
At Thorndyke Mansion they were in the garage while they gathered in the lab, Amy was sitting on the stairs with Lily.
"I hope Sonic's okay. I wish we didn't have to leave her behind." Amy said and Lily chirped. "I know, you're sad too, Lily. That mean old Eggman took your Chaos Emerald away, didn't he?" she asked and Lily opened the locket she was wearing, revealing a picture of herself with her family. "Is that... your brother and sister?" she asked and Lily chirped. "Did Eggman catch them too?"
Lily chirped with her eyes watering.
"And when you were rescued, you had to leave them behind, didn't you?" she asked and Lily chirped. "That's so sad..." she and stood up. "Lily, follow me!"
Lily chirped as Amy headed down the stairs.
"We're gonna find your brother and sister!" she said and Lily followed.
At Mystic Ruins Sonic's head was stuck in the ground. She tried in vain to get it out then spun her legs, and freed herself, even if she took out a few trees in the process. Then rubbed her head.
"Talk about a headache... Boy, that's the last time I hitch a ride with Eggman!" she said and looked up to see an old temple. "Maybe I should've teleported out of it since no one else is here."
Meanwhile.
"Who would have thought... Just a couple weeks ago, I was an adviser to the President. And now look at me..." Jerome said to himself then opened a dumpster and started digging through it. "Digging through slimy dumpsters for my next meal. How low can I go?" he said to himself.
Then Eggman in the Eggmobile appeared overhead.
"Eggman!"
"Who are you?" Eggman asked.
"You might not remember me, sir. I was an adviser to the President."
"Oh, is that so? And what are you doing these days besides not bathing?"
"To tell you the truth, not much of anything. If you could help me out, I'd appreciate it."
"I have just the thing to put the spark in that hum-drum life of yours."
"I'll take it! I'll take it!"
Eggman dropped something from the Eggmobile.
"Here. Try this." he said.
"Thank you! Thank you, sir! Thank you!" Jerome said and inspected the object, resembling a black cube.
"The pleasure's mine."
The box expanded outward until it became a giant missile that could be seen from a distance away.
Meanwhile.
"Where'd it come from? Some kind of missile!" people said.
"Action!" someone said.
"This is Scarlet Garcia live from Station Square, where an unidentified missile has been discovered." Scarlet said.
At Station Square.
"It was sure nice knowing you all. Bye-bye!" Eggman said and pressed a button to launch the missile. "So long, Station Square!" he said and laughed.
Then Tails flew after the missile as it coursed over Station Square.
"What was that thing? ... Oh no!" he said.
"It's going to crash!" someone said as the missile embedded itself into an overpass.
"It came out of nowhere! That bridge could go any minute!" people said and Tails landed nearby.
"It looks like no one was hurt." he said.
Then Bokkun showed up and hovered in front of the missile.
"Now listen up. I got a message, and it's from Eggman, so you both better listen good!" he said and pulled out his TV then activated it.
"Well, well... I hope you all enjoyed my surprise. I had a blast putting that together, and you'll have a blast in about two minutes, when my missile goes off." Eggman said and the people screamed and ran. "And now my trusty assistant Bokkun will begin the final countdown. Bokkun?"
"Uh... Countdown?" Bokkun said.
"Start counting."
"Okay." Bokkun said and the TV turned off and he started counting. "120, 119..."
"If Sonic were here, she'd know what to do." Tails said.
"Hey, no sweat, pal!" he heard Sonic say.
"...113, 112, 111..." Bokkun said.
The people who didn't flee looked at Tails.
"What are you all looking at me for? There's nothing I can do about this. I wish... She said I should try... She said I could do anything I try." he said then mustered up his courage. "All right... I'll give it my best shot! Here goes!" he said then twirled up his tails and flew up to the missile.
Back at Chuck's lab Chuck and the others were watching Tails on TV.
"It looks as though Tails is attempting to defuse the bomb." Scarlet said.
Back at Station Square with screwdriver and scissors in hand, Tails was attempting to defuse the bomb.
"If only I could figure out... which is the right wire... If I cut the wrong one, this thing will detonate. But I... I don't have much time." he said.
Bokkun was flying around and still counting.
"83... 82... 81... 80..." he said.
"Sonic..." Tails said then saw when he met her. "Sonic's always been there for me. She's taught me so much after only a few months." he said. "But maybe now it's time for me to stand on my own two feet." he said and came back. "I know a lot of techno stuff. I should be able to disarm this ting in no time." he said and got to work. "Now let's see... It can't be that one... Hmm... I got it!" he said and the bomb did nothing. "I did it!" he said and looked back to see them cheering for him.
"All right! Thank you!" they said.
"Thanks, everyone!" he said then Bokkun tapped him on the shoulder. "What is it?" he asked and Bokkun shook his hand. "Thanks."
"Yeah, well, you just wait 'til I tell Dr. Eggman! Hah!" Bokkun said and flew away.
Tails stared after him.
"I really did it, didn't I?" he said.
Meanwhile the X-Tornado plummeted to the ground and crashed into a forest. Big, Chris, and Knuckles were sprawled out on a beach and crashed to the ground.
"Everybody okay?" Chris asked as Knuckles got up and started to leave. "Where are you going, Knuckles?"
"I'm gonna find a way back to Angel Island. Good luck, Chris." Knuckles said and left.
'Note to self, stick with Sonic, Sonia, Manic or Tails for flying.' he thought.
Then Big woke up.
"Hey, where are we?" he asked.
"In Mystic Ruin, I think." Chris said.
Then the X-Tornado fell out of the trees, scaring them.
"Whoa, that was close!" Chris said.
"It almost crushed us." Big said.
"Heheh, I guess we're just... lucky."
"Lucky..."
"Hey look..." Chris said and noticed something shiny the X-Tornado had unearthed, and ran over. "A Chaos Emerald! I think it's the seventh one." he said and ran in the direction Knuckles went in. "Hey! Knuckles!"
"See ya, buddy." Big said and Froggy croaked. "I'm sleepy. What do you say you and me go home, Froggy?" he said and headed across the lake.
