I turned to Spencer, "Thanks again. Hopefully I'll see you when I get back in town."
Spencer nodded, "definitely. I'd love to hear more about your job."
I grinned, "Sure. I'd love to tell you about it."
"Amy!" Aaron yelled at me impatiently From inside his office.
I rolled my eyes, "of course I had to come see him right after he and Sean got into it."
Spencer looked at me in sympathy as I bid goodbye to Spencer and started to make my way to Aaron's office. I suddenly stopped minute and turned around.
"Quick question. Did you see anything unusual around my apartment this morning?"
Spencer looked a little taken aback at my question and shook his head. I handed him my fake business card with my cover as a film maker on it and said, "Do me a favor and call me if you do?"
He nodded in agreement and I thanked him as I turned back to Aaron's office. Entering my brother's office, I dropped my bag by the door. Aaron growled out from his chair behind his desk. "What took you so long."
"I was finishing a conversation I was having with Spencer." I replied cooly as I crossed my arm raising an eyebrow at my oldest brother. "I didn't want to appear rude."
Aaron sighed, seemingly realizing I wasn't our brother, "Sit down, Amy."
"I don't have a lot of time," I told him as I shut the door. "I have to meet a coworker at the airport."
"Where are you going?" Aaron asked me as I grabbed a seat by his desk.
"California, we'll be based in LA but we'll be traveling a lot." I replied. "I shouldn't ever be out of cell range." I continued before he could ask.
Aaron nodded, "Be careful. Call me to check in occasionally. You know I worry."
I nodded, "of course." I fortified myself before asking, "Dare I ask what happened with Sean?"
"He's not going to Georgetown." He ground out.
"That doesn't surprise me." I replied softly. "His heart isn't in law."
"Yeah well, apparently he's moving to NY."
That surprised me, "what? Why?"
"He's going to work at some restaurant."
"As a chef?"
"No. But he said he would be under the right one."
"Ah."
"When do you get back?" Aaron asked me.
I shrugged, "I'm not sure. I don't think it will be too long. But that depends on several variables."
Aaron nodded, "I wish you would find a different job."
I laughed, "Like what? The FBI?"
"No!" Aaron replied
I grinned and teased him, "That was the alternative." Privately I was grateful he thought o made documentaries and had no clue what I actually did.
"I know." Aaron admitted grudgingly.
I stood up and walked around to his chair and leaned down to kiss his cheek. "I'll stay in touch and call you when I get back in town."
I turned to walk out after grabbing my bag from where I dropped it when I entered the office. I turned to walk out the door.
"How did you meet Spencer?" Aaron asked as I opened the door.
"He's my neighbor." I said as I walked out of the office. Leaving him staring after me - apparently that was news to him. I was a little surprised he didn't already know that.
