The Blue Typhoon was cruising through deep space and everyone was gathered on the bridge.
"You detected one of the Planet Eggs?" Cream said.
"Are you sure about this, Knuckles?" Amy said.
"Yes. There's no doubt about it. I was in the engine room a few minutes ago when I saw the Master Emerald reacting to something." Knuckles said and showed them a glowing Master Emerald. "It must have been an Emerald!"
"Check for a planet nearby."
"Let's see..." Tails said and pulled up a holo-map in the midst of the group. "There's one." he said pointing to a spot on the map. "There's one."
"That's Planet Secco." Cosmo said.
Sonic was resting and reading a book titled "CosmoNav", which was a guide to the planets.
"And according to my galactic guide book, it's dry as a bone." she said.
There was a picture of the surface of Secco. It depicted a rocky environment, with a small mountains dotting the landscape. She chuckled after envisioning herself running through the barren landscape, before leaping down to the others.
"Tails, we're gonna land on Planet Secco and find that Egg! Let's go!" Amy said.
"I'm supposed to give the orders..." Tails said
"Just do it."
Outside the Blue Typhoon flew toward Secco, the Master Emerald glowed intensely, confirming Knuckles' theory. Soon the ship entered Secco's atmosphere.
"According to the scope, there's a lot of water on this world." Sonic said and they broke through the cloud layer.
The Typhoon extended it stabilizer fins and descends toward the watery surface below.
"Splashdown!" Tails said.
Soon, the Typhoon landed on the surface of the water, and everyone climbed into small submarines that were set up on the runway. Tails climbed into his sub.
"I have a way for you to stay dry even when you're underwater." he said. "You're not afraid of submarines, are you?" he said so she nodded and hopped into the submarine. "Launch the subs!" he said and the subs moved forward and fell into the water.
The subs moved forward and fell into the water, and Sonic cringed as she entered the water.
"I feel seasick." Sonic said to herself. "Lucky I'm riding in separate compartments." she said then saw a group of fish swimming directly toward her sub. "Whaah! Oh no!" she said and steered the sub away from the fish, sending her into an uncontrollable spiral.
'I can't Chaos Control or teleport without them knowing what I really am!' she thought.
At the shore the subs were now beached, and Knuckles, Amy, Cream, and Cosmo were standing together.
"Are you sure the Planet Egg's somewhere nearby?" Amy asked.
"I couldn't be surer." Knuckles said.
"What makes you so certain we'll find it here, Knuckles?" Cosmo asked.
"Because I've got a natural knack for finding things."
"...Oh."
Then Knuckles pulled out his Shovel Claws.
"I'll show ya." he said and promptly started digging on the beach in search of the Planet Egg.
"Why don't we dig for the Planet Egg too?" she said and Cosmo also pulled a small rake from the bucket.
"Ah!"
Soon they were hard at work.
But all it was some seashells. Amy tapped her head, then put her hands on her hips.
"This is gonna be a long day." she said and walked away.
"You don't think Sonic and Chris have run into some kind of trouble, have you?" Cosmo asked.
"Wouldn't be surprised." Cream said.
Meanwhile, Sonic's sub finally emerged and she opened the hatches.
Then she looked around.
"Where are we?" she said looking ahead and sea an island then saw a large tower on the island.
But realized she was far from fine. There were several fish-like Metarex in front of them.
"They're Metarex!" she said. "And whoever sent 'em here designed them especially for the water!" she said. "Right. I bet their boss stole the Planet Egg and turned this place into a water world." she said. "I knew there was somethin' fishy goin' on."
As the Metarex Gillmen beard down on the, she tossed some aside and punched and kicked others.
Then she casually held back a Gillman, threw it away, spun into a ball and launched all the Gillmen away.
Then a Gillman started to climb out of the water behind her.
Standing right behind her was a giant Metarex that roared and she knew it it picked her up and threw her out into the water.
Then a fresh batch of Metarex Gillmen leapt into the water.
Tails knew something wasn't right.
Then his comlink buzzed.
"This is the Blue Typhoon. Over." he said on comlink.
Amy was in an underground room on the island with mysterious people near her.
"It's Amy. I'm calling from under the island." she said on comlink.
"I have some bad news about Sonic." Tails said.
"She got captured."
"How'd you find that out?"
"I just made a whole bunch of new friends. They saw the Metarex capturing Sonic."
"We gotta go rescue 'em, Amy!" he said over comlink.
"I'll take care of it, Tails. These folks will show me where Sonic's being held. When he sees me coming, his heart will start pounding faster than my hammer!" she said and drew he hammer.
Later at the Blue Typhoon Hangar.
"Thanks for saving me, Amy." "My pleasure, Sonic." Amy said when hearts appeared on the screen. ""Amy, you're the most beautiful girl in the universe." "Oh Sonic, really?" "Now I see what a fool I've been for waiting so long, Amy! Will you marry me?" "Oh, Sonic! Of course I will!""
Tails cringed as they listened to Amy.
"Excuse me?" he said over comlink.
"Is that you, Sonic?" Amy asked.
"No, it's me, Tails! We have to rescue Sonic right away, Amy!" he said exasperated.
"What do you mean, "we"?! I don't need a chaperone!" she shouted.
"O-Okay." he said backing away a little.
"I'll need some time to set Sonic free. Pick us up in the X-Tornado in an hour. Got it?"
"Sure, Amy." he said and closed the comm.
Outside the Metarex base two Metarex Gillmen patrol the outside of the base, Amy spied on them. Several Secco inhabitants were standing behind her, along with the Secco Elder.
"This is the only entrance. I'm afraid it will be impossible to reach your friend." Secco Elder said.
"I'll get in." Amy said.
"How can you?"
"I'll use a little friendly persuasion."
"I warn you - those guards are vicious."
"So am I." Amy said brandishing her hammer and charged headlong toward the Metarex Gillmen.
Inside Sonic was tied to the line of a giant fishing pole which was being managed by Gillman's Boss, who was raising and lowering her above a giant aquarium.
A giant shark leapt out of the water and tried to eat Sonic, but the he swung himself out of the way.
"Hey, pal. If you're hungry, let's order a pizza!" she said.
"Sonic!" someone said and Amy ran up the stairs inside the base, hammering numerous Gillmen out of the way.
At the Blue Typhoon Tails pulled open a hatch, revealing a chute that lead from the bridge to the hangar. Then he descended the chute and landed inside the X-Tornado, which has just been positioned underneath the chute.
"Okay, guys. I'm coming to get ya." he said and an elevator moved the X-Tornado forward, then up a shaft that lead to the runway.
One by one, the palm trees lining the runway fold back, just as they did back at Chris' house.
"Begin launch sequence!" he said and a mechanism gripped the front wheel of the X-Tornado. "Catapult ready... Launch!"
As the X-Tornado's engine ignite, the catapult propelled the X-Tornado forward, allowing to take off very quickly.
Inside the Metarex base Amy hammered down the door to the room Sonic was being held prisoner in, she panted a little before noticing Sonic.
"There's my sweetie!" she said and toward her, who sweatdrops and started swinging herself back and forth, leapt out to hug her, but missed and fell into the aquarium. "You're supposed to catch me!" she said mad.
"Oh, sorry... Amy, look out." she said.
A shark popped up behind her, who hammers it without looking. Then she leapt out of the aquarium and landed before hammering the Metarex away from the fishing pole.
"Come on! We got a plane to catch!" she said and without bothering to untie Sonic, Amy ripped the fishing pole from its post and ran down the stairs, causing him to bounce down the stairs behind her.
As they continued to descend the spiraling staircase, they noticed Metarex Gillmen coming from behind and in front of them, forcing Amy to stop.
"Amy!" someone said.
Amy hammered a hole in the wall then leapt through and toward the water with Sonic in tow. Then she landed on top of the passing X-Tornado.
"I'm heading back to the Blue Typhoon!" Tails said.
"Roger!" Amy said while Sonic was being pulled through the air by the X-Tornado's speed.
"Now that I'm free, how about untying me?" she said.
As they flew away, the tower fired several flipper-shaped missiles at them but Tails dodged them.
"Missed me!" he said taunting.
"Oh!" Amy said and they both looked back to see that Sonic wasn't on the line.
"Sonic!" Tails said.
"Next time you want to rescue me, don't!" she said still bound and free-falling toward the ocean.
Then Tails opened the top.
"Try these!" he said and fired a glowing pink object toward her.
It collided with his shoes, transforming them. Then she landed in the ocean.
"Perfect Tails asked
When the giant water plume cleared, they saw Sonic hovering above the surface of the water with his arms unbound shocking Tails and Amy.
"How's she doing that?" Amy asked while the X-Tornado flew side-by-side.
"Thanks for the lift, pal!" Sonic said.
"They're Hover Shoes, Amy! I was coming up with ways for her to go places with water even though she's not scared of it or anything." Tails said.
"Guys, look! More Metarex on the way!" Amy said.
Sure enough, an army of Metarex Gillmen were approaching Sonic over the water. Sonic used her new hover shoes to skate toward them.
"Now that I can stay dry, those fish heads are washed up!" she said and knocked away rows of Gillmen, but one fired an array of missiles at her.
Then they exploded around her, and she hovered on the resulting wave. They fired lasers out of its mouth, and attacked with flipper missiles and she dodged.
She blew through the missiles, then directly target them. Once hit, the giant Metarex exploded. The others looked down as she smirked.
"Couldn't have done it without ya, Tails!" she said and he nodded while Amy spotted something below.
"The Planet Egg!" she said.
Then they saw a bright glow in the water. It sunk into the water, and the entire planet Secco was enveloped in the light.
"Part of the mission accomplished!" Tails said as the water started to recede.
As a result of the Planet Egg's restoration, the water started to recede.
"Oh, we have our land back! I can't believe it! Amazing!" Secco Natives said and watched as the receding water revealed a futuristic city. "Our planet's returning to normal."
On the island Cosmo had been sleeping on one of the sand dunes until now.
"I must have fallen asleep." she said and Cream and Cheese were behind her.
They were both surprised to see that the water had receded. Cream and Cheese noticed something glowing in the distance.
"Chao chao chao chao!" Cheese said.
"Cheese, what's the- they found it!" Cream said and they raced toward the city came.
"Wait up!" Cosmo said.
Soon, both of them were standing over the glowing object - the city. Knuckles joined them in a moment.
Once they landed, Sonic was feeling the solid ground under her feet and now wearing her normal shoes, holding a canister containing her hover shoes.
"This feels fantastic! " she said and laughed. "These shoes are great! Hold on to 'em for me, will ya?" she said and tossed the canister to Tails.
"If you like the shoes, I got some other stuff you can try." Tails said smiling.
"Will do!" she said and Tails returned the thumbs-up with a wink. "Come on; I'll race you back to the blue Typhoon!"
Everyone looked on as Sonic traversed the rocky desert atmosphere of Planet Secco.
