"Lucius! They're here! Our boys are here." Narcissa exclaimed as the train pulled into the station. Lucius smirked at his wife's enthusiasm as he followed her towards the other parents.
He watched as the young brown hair witch walked closely with Draco. He could see something in his son's eyes. They hugged and said their goodbyes.
"Hello my boys!" Narcissa hugged them both.
" Hello, Mother."
"Hello, Cissy."
The boys said together, hugging her back.
"Shall we head home? Much to discuss for the holidays." Lucius spoke up from behind them.
The three of them nodded and apparated home. Once there, the boys went their separate ways to their rooms. When Harry walked into his, he found everything there that he had from the Dursley's.
"I had your retched aunt pack everything you had there. Except those clothes, they were far to big for you and ratty. We will buy you a whole new wardrobe during break. This is your room now, feel free to do with it as you wish, my dear." Narcissa said, smiling at him from the doorway.
Harry smiled. "Thank you, Cissy. For everything."
She smiled back. "It is my pleasure, my child." She stopped herself and gave the raven haired boy a look before walking to him. She placed her hands on his shoulders as she spoke. "I know I'm not your mother, and I never could be, but I do hope you can see me as a mother figure in your life. I won't try to take her place, would never dream of that, but always know, I will always be here to give that motherly advice." Tears filled her eyes as she spoke.
Harry had tears in his eyes at her words. He threw his arms around her. "Thank you. You saved my life, literally, in the future. And you have saved me now. My mother would be happy to know what you're doing for me."
Narcissa smiled and wiped her eyes. She straightened up as she cleared her throat. "Dinner will be an hour. If you need me, I'll be in my study."
Harry nodded as she backed out of the room. He turned and emptied his trunk. After a while, there was a knock on his door. He turned to see Draco standing there.
"Come to fetch you for dinner. You ready?"
Harry nodded and left the room. The boys went downstairs and to the dining room. They took their places in either side of the table. Dinner was served and small conversation was made.
When dessert was set in front of them. Lucius then cleared his throat to get their attention.
"Harry, as a welcome to the Malfoy family, Cissy and I have decided that we'd like to show you a Malfoy Christmas. This year we want to take vacation; either in Italy, Paris or Australia. We'd like you to choose."
Harry's eyes widened. He looked to Draco who looked just as shocked.
"Uh, well, I'm not really sure. I've always wanted to see Italy, though."
" Italy it is then. We'll make arrangements to travel in two days time. " Narcissa exclaimed excitedly.
The boys finished their food and made their way upstairs. Harry went to his room, showered and changed. As he walked back into his room, there was a knock on the door. When he opened it, Draco stood on the other side.
"Well, I must say, Potter, dinner was eventful. I've never seen or heard Father be that way. Not even with me." Draco said as he plopped down into an armchair beside the fire.
"I can't help the feeling he's not being friendly just because of your mum. " Harry replied, sitting across from him.
Draco nodded. "I know. I think he has other motives. He's never this nice."
"I think, and just an opinion, but what if he's being like this to get to me and give me to Voldemort?"
"Wouldn't be out of his realm of possibilities. We will just have to keep our eyes on him as we go about."
The boys continued to talk for awhile before calling it a night and heading to bed.
Italy was everything Harry imagined. Draco made sure to show him all the great things to do while there. The two went shopping for their friends while there to send to them. Draco didn't know what to get Hermione so he asked her best friend.
"Well, Mione loves books, of course. She will wear bracelets or necklaces. Her favorite color is violet. Honestly, mate, she loves anything that had thought and care put into it. She loves genuine gifts."
Draco just nodded. As they continued shopping, Draco spotted the jewelry store his mother always shopped at. He immediatly spotted what he wanted to get Hermione. He nudged Harry. Harry just smiled and nodded.
"It's simple, yet beautiful. She will love it."
Draco purchased the bracelet, necklace and earring set. It was a beautiful book shaped gem, made of amethyst stones with smaller sapphires surrounding it; the earrings matching in color. The bracelet was amethyst and sapphires alternating, an open book sitting in the middle; all set in white gold.
Christmas morning came and Harry couldn't have been happier. He finally had a holiday where he didn't get trash as gifts. Narcissa and Lucius gifted Harry with a brand new wardrobe that he had free range of choosing before they left Italy. Draco gifted him with a new state of the art broom cleaning kit.
They had breakfast then Harry and Draco went out to get Harry's new clothes. That night, they had dinner before leaving back for the Manor.
Once back home, Harry and Draco had gifts waiting for them from Hermione and Neville, who gifted them with a Creature Inheritance book and a new rare plant breed.
"Mother, Father. I was wondering if it would be alright for Harry and I to go to Diagon Alley tomorrow. There are a few things we would like to do before we go back to school."
Narcissa exchanged a glance with her husband, who gave a nod. "Of course, dear. I need to go as well, so I will accompany you then we shall go our own way."
The next morning, Harry, Draco and Narcissa gathered on the front lawn to head to Diagon Alley. Once there, Narcissa told the two to meet her at the cafe in two hours for lunch before returning home. They agreed and Draco led them to Gringott's.
"Draco, why are we heading to the bank?"
"There is something I want to find out about removing the Horcrux from inside you by using Goblin magic."
Harry nodded and followed Draco inside. They stopped in front of the head goblin. He peered over the podium and sneered at them.
"What do you want?" His voice snarky.
"I need to speak with you, sir. My friend here is a powerful Horcrux and we would like to see how we can remove it from him." Draco whispered.
The goblin, again, looked at the two boys with a distasteful look. After a few moment, he stepped down and motioned for them to follow him to the back.
"Sit." he demanded at Harry, pointing to the small chair in the middle of the room.
After Harry sat down, the goblin walked over to him and placed his hands on either side of his head and closed his eyes. After a few minutes, he opened his eyes.
"Powerful magic. Much too powerful for me."
"So, you can't help?" Harry asked.
The goblin growled. "I didn't say that. I said it was too powerful for me. I need help." Before he left the room, he stopped and turned back to Harry. "This kind of magic comes at a cost." He snapped his fingers and a piece of parchment floated in front of Harry.
"I'll pay it. Potter vault. 687."
He walked out of the office, returning a few minutes later with three other goblins, one carrying a cup of liquid.
"Take this. Once this is drank, we can perform our spell."
Harry downed the liquid, a grimace on his face at the taste. A few seconds later, he began to feel dizzy. The goblins gathered around, palm to palm, and chanted their spell. Harry began to feel like his head was going to explode at any moment then, suddenly, it stopped.
"It's done. For today, rest. For the next few days, you will feel dizzy and out of sorts in your head. It is the spell's after effects. The Horcrux was a powerful one, the last of several. It was attached to the inner mind. It will take a few days to completely recover."
"Thank you." Draco said, helping Harry up and leaving the bank. They made their way to the cafe to meet with Narcissa for lunch.
After eating, the three left back for the manor. Harry starting to feel better as the day went on. Finally the day was over and he excused himself and headed to his room.
Harry went to bed, finally at peace for his future. He finally had a home, a family and the knowledge to fix everything that once went
"Boys! Hi!"
Harry and Draco turned to see Hermione running at them. She quickly hugged them both.
Draco noticed she was wearing the jewelry he bought her. "I see you like your gift."
Hermione beamed. "I love it. And I love yours, too, Harry. I've never had designer clothing made like this before. Italy has the best designers." she said as she turned to let them see her new jumper, jeans and boots Harry got her.
"Alright children. Have a good term and I'll see you all this summer." Narcissa said as she fussed over her two boys and hugged them.
The three waved goodbye and boarded the train. Hermione excused herself for a moment while Harry and Draco found them a compartment.
"Leave me alone!"
Harry and Draco looked at each other then ran into the hallway. They found Hermione struggling to get away from Ron.
"Let her go, Weasley." Draco said, stepping forward.
"Go away, Malfoy. We're just getting along here. Isn't that right, Granger."
"I said, let her go."
"Or what? You'll get your Father here?" Ron scoffed, Her looked at Hermione. "You could do with some better friends."
"I like my friends, thank you. Now, let me go!"
Ron removed his arm from around her and shoved he forward. Draco caught her before she could fall. He held her to him and picked her chin up to look at him.
"You alright?"
She nodded. "Yes. I'm fine. Let's go."
The boys took her back to the compartment and she settled down beside Draco, laying her head on his shoulder. Before long, Neville joined them, with him a long, blonde haired girl.
"Harry, Hermione, Draco, this is Luna Lovegood. Do you mind if she joins us?"
"Not at all. Welcome, Luna." Harry said.
"Thank you. It's nice to finally meet you." Her dreamy voice rung out lightly. She gave Harry and Draco a slight wink, letting them know that she already knows everything.
The train ride back to school was pleasant, Luna telling everyone about herself. The trip back didn't seem as long with Luna's stories.
Once back at school, everyone went their own ways to eat. Harry listened as the Sorting Ceremony started. Luna was sorted into Ravenclaw, as it should be. He also remembered a few of the others as they were called.
After announcements and eating, Harry, Hermione and Draco went down to the dungeons, said their good nights and went to bed, ready to finish the year.
Harry looked at the map to make sure no one was around as he made his way to the kitchens. He couldn't sleep, so he went to get a late night snack and do some thinking. It was mid March and he was trying to find out a way to catch Peter and clear his godfather's name before summer.
As he turned the corner just feet away from the kitchen, he seen two sets of feet coming towards him.
"Mischief Managed." He said, along with two other voices.
Harry stood, shocked, at hearing another set of voices saying those words. He walked out from behind the statue and looked at two identical faces.
"Oi! Harry Potter?" the Weasley twins said together.
"How'd you know that phrase?" Harry asked, eyeing them suspiciously, but secretly knowing how they knew.
"Our question to you is,"
"How did you know?"
The twins said one after the other, wands pointed Harry's direction, the light shining on his face.
"My father was a Maurader. Prongs, to be exact."
Their eyes went wide. "Fred, we're standing in front of royalty, mate."
"You're absolutely right, George."
Suddenly, the two of them bowed to Harry. Harry just smirked at their antics.
"Late night snack?" Harry asked. They nodded. "Let's get inside. We can talk there."
The three walked inside and greeted the elves. After telling them what they wanted, they found a table and sat, Harry opening his map to keep an eye out for Filtch or a teacher.
"I think you guys could help me. You know Sirius Black?" They nodded. "Well, he was sent to Azkaban for killing Peter Pettigrew, but the thing is, Pettigrew isn't dead."
"What makes you say that?" Fred asked.
"Well, for one, I've seen his name on the map. His name just started to appear. Also, they said all they could find was his finger, not his body, right?"
"Yeah, so what's the next point?" George asked.
"My father wrote in his journal to me that Peter's animagus is a rat. Haven't you lot had a rat in your family for the last twelve years?"
"Come to think of it, Scabbers is old for a common garden rat."
"And he is missing a toe."
The Weasley twins looked at each other, then back to Harry.
"What do you want us to do?"
"Catch him. I need to know if Scabbers is Peter. If I can prove that Peter Pettigrew is alive, I can free my Godfather, Sirius, and I can have that part of my family back."
The twins turned their backs to Harry and spoke amongst themselves for a few minutes.
"Alright, we'll do it. Ron keeps him close at night,"
"But we can get to him. Tell little brother we need him for a test rat for a new product."
"Great. Thanks, guys. When you catch him, send word to me and we will meet."
He shook their hand, grabbed his map, and headed back to the Slytherin dorms. He went to sleep easily that night, knowing soon he would have his future changed once again.
A few weeks later, Harry, Draco, and Hermione were sitting in the common room finishing their assignments when an paper crane landed in front of Harry. He picked it up and unfolded it.
Harry,
We have what you were looking for. Meet us in the Astronomy tower at Midnight.
F&G
"What's that?" Hermione asked, curiously.
"Nothing. Just a note from Snape. He needs to see Draco and I." Harry nodded his head towards the door. Draco gave a nod, put his things away, and followed Harry, giving Hermione a quick goodbye.
"We have to go to Snape first. Fred and George have captured Peter." Harry explained as they made their way to their Head of House's office.
Draco nodded as they stopped at the door and knocked. Moments later, Snape opened the door and peered down at the two boys.
"Why are you two here at this late hour?" He asked, snidely.
"Sir, I've just received word that Peter Pettigrew has been captured. I'm to meet the Weasley twins at midnight at the Astronomy tower. Wanted you to be there as well to make sure it is him." Harry explained.
Snape ushered the boys into his office. He kept them there with him for the next few hours, going over information for when they uncovered Pettigrew, deciding when they did uncover him, they would send word to McGonagall, seeing as how she is the only other trustworthy proferssor at the school.
Just before midnight, the three headed to the tower. Once there, the twins turned around the face the entrance, cage locked at their feet.
"What is Snape doing here?" Fred asked.
"I'm here, boy, to make sure this is who it is, if they really are a dead man." Snape replied.
"Alright then. Here he is." George handed over the cage.
Snape took the cage and turned to Harry. "Take him out, hold him tight and I will do the spell to bring him back to his true form."
Harry did what he was told. As soon as the rat was out, Snape done the spell and instantly Scabbers become Peter.
"All wands on him. Now!" Snape demanded.
"S-Severus? Oh Severus!"
"Stay down,you filthy rat."
Peter looked at Harry. "Oh, Harry! Dear boy, how you look like your father."
"Shut up. You don't get to speak of my parents. You sold them out and put it on Sirius."
"I had to. He made me do it." Peter whined, hiding in the darkest corner of the tower.
"Stay with him. I'll send word to Minerva and the Ministry." Snape told the four boys.
Harry, Draco, Fred and George all stood in a circle, wands pointing at the shaggy, rodent looking man crouched on the floor. A few minutes later, Minerva come running in, Aurors not far behind.
"Heavens me! How did this come about?" She asked, hand on her chest, looking at the boys one by one.
Harry told her and the Aurors a short version, how his father left him a journal explaining how they had animagus forms and how he left him a map, that showed Peter. He told them how he asked the Weasley twins to help capture him, since he was their family pet.
The Aurors took his statement and put Peter in custody as was beginning to take him away, when Dumbledore burst into the room.
"What is the meaning of this? Why wasn't I informed of what is going on here?" He asked, angrily.
"Calm down, Albus. The boys sent word to me because they trust me. They found out that the one who actually gave the Potter's over to Voldemort lives. This means that he will go to Azkaban and a new trial begins to free Sirius Black." McGonagall pursed her lips at him, standing taller, if at all possible.
"No! This is outrageous! This isn't supposed to happen. Peter is dead. Sirius Black is the one who gave them up!" Dumbledore kept getting more and more aggitated as he spoke.
"Professor, calm down please. We are taking him to the Ministry, putting him under Veriteserum and will question him. We will have someone come speak to you first thing tomorrow." Head Auror Splend then turned to Harry and Draco.
"I'll also be sending word to your guardian about this as well, seeing as how your guardian and the accused are family."
Harry just nodded. He thanked them then turned to the Weasley's and thanked them for their help. Everyone began going their separate ways not long after Peter was taken away. Harry began feeling a little bit lighter as he walked back to the dorm.
NEW TRIAL SET FOR SIRIUS BLACK! POTTER SECRET KEEPER FOUND ALIVE!
Peter Pettigrew, once believed to be dead 12 years ago, is alive and well. He has been hiding as a family's pet rat. Sirius Black, who has been in Azkaban or the last 12 years, for the murder of Pettigrew, will get a new trial. Pettigrew will be put under Veritiserum and questioned in front of the Wizengamont.
If Sirius Black is innocent of his crimes, he will be released from Azkaban, back into society. The trial is set for the end of June. More details to come.
Harry closed he paper and smiled. He was finally getting his life in the right order that it needed to be. He hoped third year would be a quiet one that he could focus on his studies and friends, instead of running into some sort of trouble.
"You okay, Harry?" Luna's twinkling voice came.
"Yeah. I'm okay."
"We're arriving at the station. See you boys on the platform before we head home." Hermione said as she and Neville gathered their bags and left the compartment.
Before Harry and Draco left, Luna turned to them at the door. "You are doing well, Harry. You're future is rewriting for the better. Draco, tell her. You never know, she might surprise you." Luna waved goodbye and walked out.
Harry and Draco looked at each other, smiled, and walked off the train. Headed home for the summer.
