Chapter 1: Just another Case

"I am looking for Captain Olivia Benson," the woman said, looking around frantically.

"Ma'am, I am Sergent Tutola. The Captain isn't in yet. Can I help you with something?"

"Okay, I..I…really need Captain Benson, it's not something that I really can talk about with anyone else."

"That is ok, so you can stay here and wait or you can leave your number and I can have her give you a call. Would either of those work for you?"

"Yea, I guess I can just leave my number. My name is Alyssa Vander my number is-"

"Actually that is her walking in now, if you would like to have a seat and wait for just a minute, she will be ready for you. Is that ok?" Fin asked, happy to assist her.

"Yea that is fine, thank you Sergeant. I appreciate it."

Fin walks to Liv's office*

"Morning Liv, how is Elliot?"

"He is okay now, he was just throwing up so I had to convince him to call into work. It was a whole deal this morning when we woke up."

"Oh, ok. Well tell him I hope he feels better."

"Ok Fin, I will relay that message. Now are you gonna tell me who that woman is sitting at your desk?"

"Oh, right, sorry. She hasn't said much, the only thing I could get out of her was that her name is Alyssa Vander."

"Fin, come on. You have been a detective for a while and all you got was her name."

"Yea I know I tried but she said she will only talk to you."

"Ok Fin, send her in."

"Where do you want her?"

"Um…. Well if she made a request for me just send her in here and we can talk. I will try to make her a bit more comfortable. I'll see if I can get more information from her."

"Okay Liv," Fin stated while walking out of her office, "Oh, and Liv, I've got your back Liv. You need me just knock on the glass and I will be here."

"Ok Fin, whatever you say." Liv said laughingly, "I think we will be alright though."

Fin walks out*

While Alyssa was sitting out there her entire appearance had changed. She was visibly stressed and she had eyes that looked glazed over. The way she looked was no longer normal; something had changed in her. Since she saw Liv, she broke down. Something was really wrong with her. The one person that she wanted to help her might have just broken her. Liv noticed this. Now Liv had a goal. Help Alyssa.

"HI, I am Captain Benson. Please come in and have a sea-"

"Oh my gosh. Captain Benson. I found you. You have to help me please!" Alyssa whispered through pouring tears.

"Ma'am, let's calm down and take a deep breath. Here honey come sit down," Liv said motioning her to the couch. "You're safe now. Now please explain what is wrong."

"Captain Benson, last night I was walking home from work and someone came out of nowhere and just grabbed me. He pulled me into the alley and started to touch me. I tried to scream but you taped my mouth and enforced my hands behind my back and the legs were bound together. I just don't know what to do," Alyssa said, holding Liv's arm and sobbing into her shoulder.

"Alyssa, sweetheart. Did he rape you?" Liv gently said this to her as she tried to calm her down.

"I…I…," Alyssa stuttered, "Yes, yes I remember he did assault me."

"Ok, honey. Can we get you to the hospital to make sure that everything is OK and get a rape kit done for you?"

"Okay, will you stay with me?" Alyssa whimpered.

"If that is what you want then I would leave your side unless I have to."

"I am here for you. You are not alone. You're going to be ok. You survived."
