Night quickly arrived on the planet. Teyla and Kendra transported the man to Keller's surveillance. The doctor lit a lamp to illuminate the hiding place. The patient regained consciousness as Kendra fed on the poop-shaped creature that Teyla had just killed.
"Everything is fine, you are safe," Keller reassures.
"Who are you ?" Teyla asks.
"My name is Nabel Golan, I am a Genii" he whispers.
"A Genii...what are you doing here ?" asks the Athosian.
"I was infiltrated to work within the Athosian community and gather information" replies the patient.
"What happened to my people ?" probe Teyla.
"They were killed…" he reveals.
"I want to know who killed my companions…" Teyla orders.
"The wraiths. There is a selection, they took the whole village" says Nabel.
"Wasn't that the Bola Kai ?" Keller asks.
"No, the Bola Kai did not kill the Athosians. But, they brought the wraiths to them" he adds.
"So, the Bola Kai became worshipers of the wraiths too ?" probe Teyla.
"I'm lucky to have survived, I managed to escape during the wraith attack but I couldn't reach the stargate. The Bola Kai stood guard in front. It's there that I was captured" explains the patient.
"This is the first time I've seen you, how long have you been living with my companions ?" asks the Athosian.
"I only arrived here a few days ago," he says.
Nabel turned her head when she saw a detector. He winced at the pain.
"And you? What origin are you from ?" he asked.
"These women are friends, they come from another world" replies Teyla.
"But, this device is of ancestral origin" he remarks.
"He comes from a planet that we visited. We travel a lot, we do business" specifies the Athosian.
"With whom ?" Nabel asked.
"If you think you have the ability to spy, you're going to regret wasting what little breath you have left. I suggest you say, thank you for saving my life and end this discussion " advises Teyla dryly.
"Thank you" Nabel whispers.
March 24, 2007
A new day began when Keller and Teyla hadn't slept all night. Kendra had a little nap while watching outside. She ate another piece of the creature, starving the doctor. Nabel was sleeping soundly, recovering.
"You haven't slept a wink all night," Teyla remarks.
"With the barbarians trying to kill us and the horrible creatures crawling around us under the earth," Keller complained. "Not to mention that I'm starting to be starving" adds the doctor.
Teyla served a piece of the creature. Kendra turned her head in their direction.
"Not to that extent," says Jennifer.
"It will give you strength" assures Teyla.
"No, it will only make me vomit," the doctor rejects.
"You should taste it, it looks like chicken" Kendra writes with a smile.
"You have got it into your head that you are incapable of eating it and you are stuck," comments the Athosian.
"No, I noticed that it was disgusting and I can't eat it" corrects the doctor.
"How can you know you don't like it without having tasted it ?" Kendra asked.
"Good question," Teyla emphasizes.
"Perhaps our dear doctor is afraid of taking on new challenges ?" adds the sophrologist.
Keller gives him a defiant look, understanding his maneuver.
"You can't say that I'm afraid of taking on challenges. I agreed to become the chief doctor on an expedition to another galaxy," says Keller.
Kendra exchanges a look with Teyla.
"Eating something disgusting, there are still limits to what I agree to do" replies Jennifer.
"Okay, let's admit," adds Teyla.
"Could we try another method ?" Kendra suggests.
"What are you thinking about ?" asks the Athosian.
"We are faced with a child who does not want to eat. And shouting at him will not do anything good. We have to find a carrot to manipulate him" explains the young woman.
Keller looks outraged by his words.
"I'm not a child !" replies Keller.
"Really ? Since you arrived here, you haven't stopped complaining" comments Kendra.
The sophrologist enters the hiding place, facing the doctor.
"It's really that you chatter like your earthly chickens" adds Teyla, mockingly.
"I've been through worse situations than this, I'll let you know !" assures Jennifer.
"Prove it, eating an alien creature is no worse than saving the entire city from a potential virus that could exterminate us" says Kendra.
Keller glares at her while Kendra is amused by this situation. Jennifer stifles a grimace as she takes the piece of meat.
"See, you were wrong, you're not throwing up," Teyla writes.
"Not yet," the doctor intervenes.
"See? It wasn't difficult... you guess reverse psychology still works" says Kendra.
"I hate you," Keller assures.
Kendra rolls her eyes, stifling a laugh.
Teyla went out to get some water. As a Bola kai approaches with his crossbow. He lets out a shrill cry, alerting the Athosian. Teyla returned to the hiding place, pushing Nabel to wake him up.
"We have to leave !" shouts the Athosian.
"What happened ?" asks the patient.
Keller quickly packed his bag, helped by Kendra.
"Can you walk ?" probe Teyla.
"I don't think he's even able to get up," Keller comments.
"We have to act quickly, the Bola Kai will arrive shortly !" warns the Athosian.
"It's going to be okay, I can walk" assures Nabel, getting up.
They left the hiding place quickly.
On the city of Atlantis, Carter was impatient. She was going to have the honor of receiving a prestigious new psychologist. The International Committee had warned of his arrival yesterday. Staff members arranged the control room in hopes of making a good impression.
Rodney Mckay had a big smile, happy to welcome new staff. He stood next to Sheppard and Ronon. The warrior had his waist surrounded by two fabric baby carriers. The infants stuck together on the torso of the satedian. Rodney raises an eyebrow as he struggles to come to terms with Ronon's new role as a father.
Samantha walked down the steps, smiling. The Daedalus teleported the new staff members. The new psychologist was Eva Robinson, an occupational psychologist. His colleagues were Dr. Marcus Rothenberger, a British hypnotherapist. Doctor Chandler Lee, a Canadian social psychologist. And Dr. Elena Romano, a couples therapist and Italian.
Doctor Robinson is blonde with square glasses, dark green eyes. She wears a purple blouse, a black skirt, a pearl necklace, her short hair tied with a clip. Doctor Rothenberger is brown, with hazel eyes, wearing a sailor t-shirt, a light belt, dark pants and moccasins. Her hair was plastered with gel on the back of her head.
Doctor Lee has messy brown hair, green eyes, an orange scarf around his neck, a white shirt, a black sleeveless vest, dark pants, and ankle boots. Doctor Romano is a redhead with green eyes, she wears a white t-shirt cut to her forearms, a gray skirt and black heels. Her hair tied in a high ponytail.
"Welcome to Altantis Base, I am Colonel Samantha Carter and I command this expedition" Carter introduces himself, extending his hand.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Doctor Eva Robinson," says the psychologist.
She shook the colonel's hand.
"I present to you my team, Doctor Rothenberger, Doctor Lee and Doctor Romano" introduces Eva.
His team members simply nodded in greeting.
"I'm Colonel John Sheppard," the colonel interjects.
"I am Doctor Rodney Mckay, scientist and expert in the manipulation of ancient technologies," explains Rodney.
"McKay !" John responds.
"Ronon Dex" the warrior says, waving at them.
Marcus looked him up and down, noticing the two sleeping babies.
"Where are you from ?" the hypnotherapist asks curiously.
"Sateda, a planet destroyed by specters" replies Ronon.
"Interesting," Marcus murmurs.
Eva claps her hands. Marcus recovered, looking at her.
"Colonel Carter, could you organize our quarters and offices on this basis? asks Robinson.
"Follow me," Samantha said.
