Chapter 1: If you want to, I can save you
Vicki, a human girl, with emerald green eyes, and curly brown hair, sneaked into the room. She wore a pair of blue glasses that helped her see more clearly. Without them, the world would look slightly blurry. She also wore pink hearing aids that helped her to hear. She wore an unzipped purple jacket, showing the pink shirt underneath, and dark blue shorts. In addition, to this, she had a small green bag, hanging from her shoulder, as well as wearing black boots. The lab was a clean, sterile place, with white walls, and floors. But this room was different than the others. Rather than simply being empty as the other rooms had been, there was something. A large circular tank was in the middle of the room. The only source of light in the dimly lit lab seemed to be coming from the tank that held the mysterious creature, the one whom she had never seen before.
A strange anthropomorphic light purple feline with some alien-like features. She stared from afar at it. The creature seemed to have only three fingers on each hand, each ending in a large circular fingertip. It had a tube-like second neck on the back of it's head, connecting to it's back. It had it's muscular arms crossed across it's flat bony chest. It had a tail of a slightly darker purple color. Strangely, it's tail seemed to start from the front of it's body. Vicki briefly wondered if it's tail was it's penis, due to that fact. The creature possessed strong digitigrade legs, with feet that ended in two toes, on each foot. Vicki was a Pokemon Trainer, but this particular monster intrigued her more so than any other. She suspected that it was the one whom her friend, Tim's father, the detective, Harry Goodman had asked her to free from the lab.
She was initially shocked and angry when Harry told her of how Mewtwo had been unfairly subjected to horrifying experiments. But that anger soon gave way to determination to save Mewtwo, and the creation of Harry's plan to save him. Harry's plan was simple. Vicki would sneak in, and free Mewtwo. While Harry would be in his car, driving away to keep the group of Greninja the lab would inevitably send out to stop their plan, from attacking Vicki. The light purple feline, floated in a tank of water, as she approached the tank.
The feline's usually purple eyes suddenly glowed bright blue, as he searched her mind, to find out what her intentions were. He discovered that Vicki genuinely just wanted to help him. Mewtwo was surprised, though he did not show it. He had always thought of humanity as evil and heartless, yet she only wanted the best for him. Humans had always treated him horribly, treating him as though he was nothing more than a laboratory specimen. He hadn't ever thought that a human would actually be kind to him.
Vicki, having had no idea that her mind was just read, placed a hand on the smooth glass of the tank. "I'm here to help you." She spoke in a determined tone, to the bewildered cat-alien-thing. He raised an eyebrow at this, unsure if he should trust her. He then realized if he does not trust her, he may be trapped there forever. He placed his hand on the inside of the glass, right where Vicki's hand was resting on the other side. Looking at her, Mewtwo managed to genuinely smile for the first time since he had been brought to the lab against his will.
All he had known in his life, was pain, caused by evil humans. He felt glad to know he could trust a human, for once. "I trust you, human." The creature replied, his deep male telepathic voice clear in her mind as he spoke. Knowing she had gained his trust, she felt confident enough to begin the next phase of the plan. She moved her hand from the glass, and reached into her bag. She pulled a red and white ball from her bag.
This was no ordinary ball, however. It was a Poke Ball, a device made for the catching of creatures. Pressing the ball on the button, Vicki released her partner Pokemon, Flareon. The little reddish-orange dog-fox-I don't freaking know, let out a cry of her own name, before jumping up onto her Trainer's shoulder. "Alright! Now, see that security camera, over there, Flareon? Melt it with your Flamethrower move." She instructed the little fox, who immediately jumped off of Vicki's shoulder. "Your partner is really well trained, human. Impressive, really." Mewtwo complimented the girl, while he watched as the little animal spewed fire from her mouth, melting the camera.
"Thank you. I appreciate the compliment, but you don't need to keep calling me, human, all the time. My name is Vicki." She happily told the creature, with a smile on her face. She couldn't explain how or why, but she felt very comfortable around him. "That is certainly better than mine. My name just serves as a reminder that I am nothing more than a modified clone of Mew. Mewtwo is my name." The feline explained to her. Seeing the sad look on Mewtwo's face, Vicki opened her arms to hug him, then stopped herself upon realizing he was still inside the tank. The creature chuckled at this, finding it amusing. "You may hug me, once we get out of here." Mewtwo said to her, a small smile on his face.
Vicki couldn't help but wonder, 'Has Mewtwo ever been hugged?' The purple feline shook his head, at her thought. "Not even once. Would it be so hard for humans to care about me?" Mewtwo answered her question. "It's not hard for me to care about you. You didn't deserve any of what you went through in your life." The girl explained. The creature nodded, before asking, "So, did you have any ideas for how to get me out of here, besides just destroying the security camera?" Vicki shook her head. "No. I was hoping you'd come up with something, cause I'm all out of ideas." Vicki admitted, as she watched the feline, floating in the tank.
"Stand back. I will use my powers to break myself out of here." The feline explained. Vicki quickly ran, along with her Flareon, over to stand as far away as they could. She watched in amazement, as his psychic powers caused sparks to fly off of machinery, destroying the lab, effortlessly. His eyes glowed blue, as they had earlier, as he now focused his powers on escaping. Without exerting much effort, his psychic abilities shattered the glass.
Glass shards went flying across in all directions across the room. Vicki's eyes widened, as she saw several shards of glass coming directly at her and Flareon. Just as she expected them to hit her, she looked up to see a blue glow surrounding the glass, keeping it from hitting her and her Pokemon. "Thank you, Mewtwo." Vicki told him, appreciatively. "Vicki.. I will protect you, no matter what. You deserve it. You're nothing like the other humans I have met." Mewtwo said, as he floated over to her, landing beside her.
He hugged her, for quite a while. He had never been hugged before, so he was determined to enjoy it for as long as he could. Vicki was not complaining, as she just wrapped her arms around him tighter, and rested her head on his chest. Vicki smiled, as she noticed the feline smiling once again. She had noticed he seemed to smile a lot around her now, unlike the moment when they first met when he was frowning a lot. This whole plan had taken longer than she planned for it to successfully work, and it had been about 2 days that she had spent by his side. And she wouldn't have had it any other way. But, she realized now that he was free, he would probably leave to continue hiding from humans, alone. The psychic feline noticed the worried look on her face, and pulled away from the hug. "What is wrong?" Mewtwo asked, concerned.
"It's just... I was really enjoying these past 2 days with you, and I know you'll probably leave to go back to wherever you were before you got captured. Without me." Vicki explained, trying not to show her sadness over the idea. She and him were now good friends, and she wanted to keep spending time with him. "While it is true, that I would go back to where I once was. I would not just leave you here. If you are not with me, then.. I would be lonely, like I used to be." The feline told her, as they stood there.
Mewtwo had never truly felt cared for, before he met her, which was why he had once tried to strike back against humanity by nearly destroying the world with a flood caused by his psychic powers. He regretted his actions back then, but none of that mattered to him now. He wanted to focus on the friendship he had with this girl. Though in his past, he would have never been willing to show compassion to a human, he knew he could trust her. He was determined to keep her safe, just as she had done for him. "If you want.. you can come with me." He suggested, because he was sure he wouldn't regret it. Vicki quickly returned her Flareon to her Poke Ball, putting the ball in her bag, before nodding.
