"Who do you think the Defence Against The Dark Arts teacher is going to be?" Hermione asked Ginny.
The pair of them were sitting at the Gryffindor table, talking while they waited for the announcement.
"Who knows? Snape seems to think Malfoy will hate them" Ginny replied.
Hermione rolled her eyes. "Well that's really narrowing it down considering that Malfoy hates everybody"
"Not everybody" Ginny said with a sly smile.
"Meaning?" Hermione asked with a raised eyebrow.
"I think you know" Ginny shot back.
"I don't like him!" Hermione exclaimed.
"Who said anything about you liking him?" Ginny said lightly.
Hermione groaned. She had waltzed right into ginny's trap. She really needed to be more careful around her.
"You should be in Slytherin" Hermione muttered.
Ginny just smirked.
From across the wall she caught Draco's eye. He winked at her and she blushed softly. Ginny noticed and followed her gaze, grinning when she realized what had happened.
"You sure you don't like him?" Ginny asked.
"Ginny" Hermione groaned.
Ginny rolled her eyes. She was going to get those two together. Maybe she could enlist the help of the other Slytherins.
"Attention students!" McGonagall announced, causing all the students to cease their chattering and turn towards her. "I have called you all here to introduce you to our new Defense Against The Dark Arts teacher!"
"Cause we didn't know that already" Ginny whispered under her breath.
"Shut up. I want to find out who it is" Hermione whispered back.
"Before I announce who it is you all need to listen to me very carefully-" McGonagall was cut off by someone in the crowd.
"Just announce who it is already!" everyone started murmuring their agreement.
"Enough! Our new teacher will not be harmed in any form, nor shall they be discriminated against. I want you all to keep that in mind." McGonagall said.
"Must be a supporter of Voldemort" Hermione deduced.
"How do you figure that?" Ginny asked.
"Who else would be harmed or discriminated by students?" Hermione explained.
"Good point." Ginny said.
"Our new teacher is-" McGonagall was cut off once more, this time by the doors to the great hall barging open.
The silence was deafening. everyone was staring at the figure who walked in. Disbelief spread like wildfire. Slowly Hermione put the pieces together, everything making sense. Then she burst out laughing, the sound piercing the silence. In strode...
"MOTHER!?"
