"Excuse me, where do you think-" I freeze as Kagami uses her serious voice. "Yes?" I turn slowly towards her, making my voice sound innocent. "Your shirtless. Oh and my." "Kagami, love, I'm only going down by water to catch a bit of sun." She shakes her head, either she's trying to clear it or she's disagreeing with me. Or possibly it could be both.

"Your a peacock, not a lobster!" I bite back a laugh. "Why, thank you for noticing, My Queen. Did you also notice my killer smile?" "You are not to step one toe outside before putting on some sun cream. You stay here and let me find it."

I laugh as she marches away. "And after that, you'll pack a picnic and join me?" She comes out of the bathroom holding the tube of lotion. "Love, you know that's hard to do with a hurt ankle." My face falls. "Oh, right. Wait, are you willing to stay up late tonight?" Kagami rolls her eyes. "You know I'm not going to turn into a pumpkin if I'm up till midnight. You sir have been watching to many Disney movies."

I grin as I plop down on the couch. "Do you want to hear my idea?" I ask, as she begins to slather me in cream. "Go ahead." "The stars at night here are incredible. I'll set up a fire this afternoon and tonight we'll have supper under the stars." "That sounds lovely." "Good. Now," I stand up, "You enjoy your quiet time this afternoon, and I'll see you around five."

Our kiss is a bit lingering, and I don't mind a bit. "See you." she nods, and I laugh again at the dreamy look on her face. Though we aren't officially a couple yet, I can see that changing soon. Possibly by Valentine's Day.

Kagami doesn't know this yet, but for Valentine's Day I've made reservations for a fancy dinner and bought tickets to a West End show. As soon as we get to back to London, I need to purchase a promise ring. A nice one too.

Briefly, I wonder what Cat and Ladybug are doing. I wonder if Ladybug has thought more about our discussion from a few days ago.

Towards the afternoon, I get a fire pit ready, gathering wood and sticks. Using one of the sticks, I fish for awhile, enjoying the peaceful sound of waves and the cooling waves against my toes.

Gradually, the sun dips towards the horizon and I head back making sure I have plenty of time to get back here with Kagami before it gets dark.

"Mm, smells good in here!" I lean against the door frame. The smell of chocolate is heavy in the air. "I made cookies and there was a bottle of lemonade in the fridge." "Your ankle doing okay?"

I love that she kept busy, but I don't want her to be in pain. Kagami winces and I let her lean against me. "Would you mind taking a look at it?" she asks. "Of course, love. I'll apply some more lotion before we head out."

I try not to let the concern on my face show as I look at Kagami's ankle, but of course she isn't fooled for a second. "Its bad, isn't it?" "I'm only worried if Jupiter found out, he could take an advantage of you."

"Last Adrien told me, he was still in Paris." Good, the longer he stays there, he cannot hurt us, but a new worry arises. Tomoe came back days ago, but without him. What is he up to?

"Your thinking about Jupiter again, aren't you?" Kagami says, and I look up at her. She holds both of my cheeks. "Whatever he's up to, we'll figure it out together. After all, we're a team."

I smile. "And with that said, we should head down to the beach. Careful, up you come," I gather her in my arms.

The night is near perfect. I start the fire as the light slowly fades away, the fire crackles and pops. The fish roasting on the spit smells delicious. Kagami boils some potatoes, and its one of the best meals I've had.

"Everything tastes better in the open air," I lay back, my head in Kagami's lap as I bask in the warmth of the fire.

When it gets dark enough, we watch the stars come out one by one. Heading a bit away from the fire so we can see them more clearly, the more brilliant and radiant the small pinpoints of light become.

We have fun wishing on stars, being careful not to wish on to many stars, for I've heard doing that can result in bad luck.

Around midnight, we douse the fire with water, watching the steam rise into the fire. "See you in the morning," I whisper, heading back to my campsite but Kagami grabs my hand. "Felix?" "Yes?" Her voice is soft as this warm velvet night. "I love you."

Deep in the night under a perfect lemon shape moon we kiss, and I feel a wave of peace wash over me. A peace that is soon to be broken.

When I return to my sleeping bag, I fall asleep quickly. It is once I enter the dream that I become restless.

Fog swirls around me, making it difficult to see. A shadowy staircase however,. I am able to see. Slowly, I start the ascend, shivering as the fog follows me, like it is a living thing. Where does this staircase lead? Does it go on forever, up into the clouds?

But no. At last, I reach the top where a pagoda sits, crumbling with age. If fixed up and given a fresh coat of paint, it would be a perfect home.

My senses tell me someone is close by, and I do a slow three sixty. "This could all be yours, Felix," a to familiar voice says. Jupiter. He snaps his fingers and the fog instantly vanishes, leaving a blue sky behind. The lake behind him shimmers and I can see crops growing on the side. "What do I have to do?" I ask, my voice cold. "Its very simple really. All you have to do is give me your Miraculous."

"Like I would. Besides, I know your plan to make perfect mannequins, and its sick, wrong! You need to nurture and cherish life, not use them as your slaves." "Oh, I think you'll change your mind when you see your love. Kagami?"

Kagami appears as if from nowhere, eyes locked on my Miraculous. And then I know. She's under his control. "I'm sorry, Argos. But I have obey," Kagami says, taking the brooch from me.

I gasp, sitting straight up finding that it is morning, dawn's chorus chirping in my ears.

One look and Kagami knows I need comforting. The shadows and fog are chased away by the loving warmth of her arms. "Let's hope it doesn't come to that," she says, weaving her hands through my hair.

Her touch is calming, soothing, and I head back into dreamworld, though this time, I do not dream.

Late in the afternoon, we swim back to the main land, but our trip is one we won't soon forget. Mother is in a hurry, and Kagami and I are curious why. "Don't you remember, sweetie? Tomorrow's Mardi Gras and we have that big party." "Sounds like fun. Do we dress up and wear masks?" Kagami asks. "Yes," Mother says. "And there's a big dance with lots of food and lively music."

I love Carnival, or Mardi Gras as some people call it. "Its one of the best nights of the year, Kagami. And then the day of hearts and flowers will be upon us." "Huh?" "Valentine's Day." I see her eyes widen. "Oh! Right!"

Everyone is quiet after we board the train, lost in our own thoughts. Hopefully Mardi Gras will be a peaceful time, for when one wears a mask they can become a different person.

Jupiter donned a tweed suit, monocle and flat cap. He knew Agreste would be suspicious of him as he came as he was, so he was going undercover as an antique dealer. Wouldn't Mr. Agreste's assistant like have the wedding rings appraised? He was sure they would fetch a pretty penny, and he was willing to pay any price. For now, he would put his search of the Butterfly brooch on hold, but he wasn't giving up.

Kagami's mother may have the latest in technology, but in the end he would be the one to come out on top.

He stood in front of the iron gates, knowing the next part of the plan led here. Oh, when he was the number one designer in the world, people would come from all over, and pay any price for his goods.

He pushed the button, wanting to be let in. Nathalie, who cared for Adrien know, stood looking down from the steps as Jupiter and Nathalie chatted. Jupiter caught his eye, and he saw the steely look, this boy could see right through him.

But in the end it would be Nathalie that would make the final decision, not a teenage boy. Nathalie showed him to the office, and Jupiter was glad to get away from the cold stare of Adrien Agreste.

Meanwhile, Adrien was making his own plans, putting in a call to Marinette and then to Ladybug. If they worked fast, they could save the twin rings.

Marinette had never worked on an art project more important or more quickly then Adrien's request. Quickly, the switch was made. Ladybug waited outside the office, waiting to do the switch.

She'd arrived just in time to hear Jupiter name a price, and breathe a sigh of relief when Nathalie politely but firmly told him the rings were not for sale. But she knew Jupiter wouldn't take no for answer.

From her hiding post, she watched Adrien ask if Jupiter would like tea and cookies, surely the long day of travel made the traveler hungry.

Just as they had predicted, Jupiter grabbed the fakes, not knowing that he had been duped, for now.
