Chapter six:

Frisk reaches MK and helps him back up as Undyne watches her tensely.

MK shifts to his feet only to blink at Frisk. He turns to Undyne and rushes to stand in front of her. "I won't let you hurt her!"

Undyne stands there for a moment before backing up a few steps. She looks to Frisk before turning around and leaving.

MK slumps as if that was the scariest thing he's had to do. He turns as Frisk comes over putting a hand on his back. "Thank you for saving me."

"Don't worry about it. I don't see why I should just leave you hanging there." Frisk assures the other giving him a hug as he leans into her. "Want to continue a bit further ahead?"

"Actually. I'm sorry but if it is okay I think I should go home. My parents are probably worried."

"That's okay. You relax. I understand." Frisk lets him go.

MK turns running off falling onto his face though this time not falling off the edge. He gets up and continues off on his way.

Frisk heads to continue on her journey. She hopes that she meets up with Papyrus again soon. She isn't sure if she can navigate this place without getting lost. She walks for a bit only to end up seeing Sans up ahead.

Sans is in a blue bandana which Frisk doesn't know the name of this persona; Underswap. He turns and gasps before hurrying over to her. "Hello there!" He grins at Frisk showing bright starry eyes. "It's so nice to see you here!" He glances around. "Wow! You've come pretty far human!"

"Yeah. I sure have. The monsters here are really nice." Frisk confirms glad to see Sans hum in agreement.

"They sure are." Sans agrees. "Say. You haven't happened to see my brother around have you?"

"Not recently."

"Hm. Okay. Well thank you human. I hope to run into you again sometime! Oh, and you should totally stop by Alphys's place if you get the chance! She's the captain of the royal guard! It'll be great if you two could become friends!" Sans's words confuse Frisk for a moment before remembering what Papyrus had told her. He's just seeing the world in a different way so it might not all be the same as reality.

"I will keep that mind." Frisk informs him so Sans makes a happy sound as he says see you later then runs off. She continues forward a bit more until she gets a call from Papyrus. "Hey. Just saw Sans."

"What persona?"

"Uh blue bandana and very energetic. Called Alphys captain of the royal guard. Said everyone was really nice."

"Sounds like Underswap." Papyrus hums in understanding. "Anyways meet me at Undyne place."

"Why?" Frisk isn't so sure about this.

"Trust me. I'll be there too. Or Sans will be there if he stays in Underswap. I will talk to Undyne either way. Even if I have to wait for Sans to leave. Anyways. Here is how you get there if you can find this spot." Papyrus tells her directions before she can protest. "See you there! No rush!" He hangs up leaving Frisk feeling some dread.

Frisk wonders just what Papyrus is getting her into. She knows he has good intentions however she is also worried about Undyne still attacking her. She stands there contemplating for a bit before deciding to go along.

It might be best to get allies to make introducing them to humans hopefully go better.

"Good golly you're quite deep in here."

Frisk stops in her tracks at a familiar voice. She turns around staring at a smirking yellow flower. "Flowey." She narrows her eyes at the deceiving flower.

"Nice to see you again Frisk." Flowey greets back with a chuckle. "How's the underground?"

"Pretty nice. But don't think of trying anything."

"Oh I won't. It's more fun to watch right now." Flowey smirks widely. "I can't wait to see your plans fall through. Good luck." He disappears with a laugh.

Frisk lets out a slight of relief that he's gone for now. She'll just have to watch her step. She's not sure what he's planning. She might need to get the others involved if she thinks he might become a threat. She follows Papyrus's directions only pausing as she steps on something. She moves back as a classic cartoon shaped ghost comes up from the ground.

The ghost's form is droopy and his face turned down in a frown. "Oh. I'm terribly sorry. I'll move out of your way. Didn't mean to be a bother." He mumbles making Frisks heart ache for him.

"Wait." Frisks one word stops the ghost from fading away. "Do you want to talk?"

"Oh. You don't have to bother yourself for me. I'm not worth it." The ghost sniffles with some tears falling down. He shakes his head causing tears to splash around and Frisk jumps away noticing the ground burn. He has acid tears!

"No! No! No! Don't cry!" Frisk reaches out attempting to comfort the ghost ducking as another acid tear flies over her head. "We can be friends. You're not bothering me I promise." Her words get some sniffles from the ghost who stops crying.

"Really? You don't have to lie to make me feel better."

"Really." Frisk moves closer. "Do you want a hug?"

The ghost is quiet for a moment as if thinking before shaking his head. "No thank you... Do you want to see something I can do?"

"Sure!" Frisk agrees with a smile only to watch in fascination as the ghost makes the tears fall upwards. She gasps softly as it makes the form of a rather neat looking top hat.

"There. How was that?"

"It looks wonderful on you!" Frisk mentions with a big smile. "I wish I could do that!"

"Oh... Thank you..." The ghost doesn't show it however something in the air becomes light as if happiness is around.

"I'm Frisk by the way. What's your name?" Frisk was told it was polite to introduce oneself.

"Oh. How silly of me. I'm so sorry." The ghost slightly dips his head more. "My name is Napstablook."

"Well it's very nice to meet you." Frisk nods in greeting.

"You too..." Napstablook shifts a little awkwardly. "How has your journey been going?"

"Pretty good." Frisk finds herself thinking of something. "Oh. I hope you don't mind me asking this. I just was curious if you knew of a yellow flower? Maybe you could tell me more about him? Or at least what you know about him?"

Napstablook pauses at this before responding. "Oh... I'm truly sorry I don't really like talking about that... Oh no... How rude of me I said no when you asked so nicely. Oh no..." He starts to fade away.

"Wait! It's okay! You don't have to say yes! I'm not mad or anything!" Frisk calls out reaching for Napstablook.

"Thank you. I'll see you around... Maybe..." Napstablook says before he finishes fading away.

Frisk lowers her hand then her head a few moments after with a sigh. "Well. I guess all I can do is head forward." She opens her eyes that she didn't realize she had closed, her head lifting to look around. "I just hope that everything will indeed be okay on that end." She just has this gut feeling that she's missing something about Flowey.

Flowey is for sure hiding a secret which may put what he's doing in a new light. He is still making the wrong choices however context on why he might be doing it could help a lot. He is for sure one of the mystery monsters that Frisk wouldn't mind unraveling.

Frisk is also aware that he is dangerous. She learned that the hard way.

No matter how his actions are viewed with or without context they are still bad actions. He just might end up helping Frisk to understand him better. He could even become an enemy at any moment after all. At least for now he seems to be keeping to the sidelines of it all, possibly plotting a grand plan.

Frisk shakes those thoughts off as it doesn't help her right now. She slows to a stop noticing movement above.

"Seven..." Undyne mutters standing there on a cliff menacingly. "Seven human souls..." She stares down at Frisk even through her helmet. "That's all we need to be able to get out of here." She summons a spear into her hand. "We have six and that means you're the last one we need. We're so close." She removes her helmet showing her face. "I will do what is needed from me. For the sake of monster kind." She leaps from the cliff down to where Frisk is.

Frisk takes a step back as Undyne lands in front of her.

"I will not let one puny human stand in the way of our freedom." Undyne points the spear at Frisk. "A sacrifice of a human life to give monsters freedom that they deserve." She lets out a breath. "Plus no one will be in danger of you. For our freedom you must Die!" She charges swinging the spear at Frisk who jumps away. Her spear stabbing into the ground right where Frisk was just standing.

Frisk manages to turn in her skid from landing in order to face Undyne. "I don't want to fight you!" She calls out to the other who turns to her. She gulps audibly as spears summon all around Undyne.

"Then don't and accept your fate." Undyne sends those spears flying in Frisks direction. "Accept that you have to die for our freedom!"

Frisk runs around doing her best to dodge the spears. She gasps as she is grazed by a few which cut her left arm and right leg a little. She tries to do better in dodging them. She also tries to think if she had picked up anything that might help her block these attacks. She doesn't think any of her items would be able to save her. She just keeps trying to dodge as much as she can.

Finally the attacks come to a stop and Frisk needs to decide what she is going to do. She makes the choice to not fight against Undyne. She doesn't want to hurt her. "Just listen to me!" She pleads however Undyne just growls in response.

"If you won't give in then fight you coward!" Undyne summons more spears sending them Frisks way.

Frisk runs away trying to dodge them. Her only way forward is blocked by Undyne. She will have to run past her somehow in order to keep going. She decides to give Undyne what she wants.

Maybe then Undyne will let Frisk slip past.

Frisk charges towards Undyne throwing a punch however Undyne easily dodges it.

"Yeah! That's it! Fight!" Undyne summons even more spears than before causing Frisk to regret throwing the punch.

Frisk cries out running from the spears. She notices that Undyne has shifted her stance. She might be able to slide between the others legs. She might be able to run! She heads for Undyne who seems ready for another attack. She falls the ground sliding under a surprised Undyne. She feels some small scratches from the ground come onto her body. She makes it and stumbles to her feet running away as Undyne looks over her shoulder in shock.

"Get back here!" Undyne starts the chase after Frisk as the human keeps running. She stops to try to shoot spears up from below Frisk. Luckily her attacks fall short as Frisk runs past before they come out.

Frisk finds that she definitely cannot outrun Undyne. She has to find a way to possibly hide.

Undyne suddenly leaps in front of Frisk making her skid to a stop. "Got you now!" She declares sending spears Frisks way.

Frisk desperately does her best to dodge them. Her adrenaline helping her body to move even though she's pushing herself a bit. She watches for any opportunity to get past Undyne. She doesn't see any so she decides to try the trick from before. She charges when she gets the chance this time, to keep Undyne off her tail, she lands a punch which only does five hit points of damage.

"Ha! Yes! I love it when they fight back!" Undynes spears get more aggressive and Frisk makes distressed sounds as she runs.

Frisk can only run around where she is thus gets cut by a spear on her shoulder. She flinches knowing that she can't let too many hit her. She charges Undyne again who is ready for another hit. She instead runs around and dashes away.

Undyne's heavy footsteps stomping after her.

Frisk can't keep this up. She needs a way out. She jumps as her phone rings which luckily saves her from some spears hitting the ground. She checks her phone as she runs.

Papyrus is calling.

"Not now Papyrus." Frisk hisses through her teeth ignoring the call stuffing the phone into her pocket. She keeps going even as it is getting harder for her to breathe. She spots Papyrus pacing up ahead and he turns spotting them. She blinks at him for help. She trips falling down onto the ground with a breathless whimper.

Papyrus rushes over getting in-between Frisk and Undyne. "Stop Undyne! She wants to help!" His action makes Undyne skid to a stop.

"Then she should let me take her soul!" Undyne insists. "She is the last soul we need! We can get out of here!"

"There has to be another way! Undyne! She didn't do anything wrong!" Papyrus argues sounding like he is begging for her to listen. "Please. Just give her a chance."

Undyne stares at Papyrus clearly able to tell she can't get him to back off. "Ugh. Papyrus. I have to do this. For the Royal guard."

"Well you'll still be doing your job. Just in a different way. Maybe we can still use Frisk to leave but not kill her or harm her."

Undyne looks past Papyrus to Frisk who has shifted up to sitting on her knees.

Papyrus glances back to Frisk as well. "You okay?"

Frisk nods trying to catch her breath and stop her racing heart.

Papyrus turns back to Undyne.

"Papyrus. We need to have a serious talk about things." Undyne sighs. "My house. Now. I'll find the human after." She doesn't seem to be able to find it in her to kill Frisk when Papyrus is here.

"Okay!" Papyrus turns giving Frisk a 'see you there' look before going with Undyne up the cliffs.

Frisk is aware that Undyne must be taking a different way to get to Undynes home.

Is it worth it for Frisk to go to that monsters house as well?

Frisk decides that she needs to put her faith in Papyrus so she gets up. She will likely need help in order to be able to get all of them, including herself, out of there.

Undyne had made Frisk lose her bearings though surely it can't be too hard to find them.

Frisk continues on her way, managing to see a sign Papyrus mentioned which helps her get her bearings, until she arrives to a house which looks unique to say the least. She looks to the entryway curious at which one will be there finding it to be Sans. She turns spotting Papyrus behind a rock who gives her a thumbs up then ducks out of sight. She is at least glad that he is okay. She lets out a breath turning to where Sans is. "It's now or never." She tells herself heading towards where the other is waiting.

Sans turns to her showing that he is indeed still in his Underswap persona. "Hey there human!" He greets blinking happily that Frisk came here. "It is so good to see you here! You and Alphys will become the best of friends! Just you wait and see!" He turns as if just remembering something. "Oh. Right." He pulls out a bone from his pocket.

Frisk notices a bow wrapped around it.

"You will bs giving this as a gift to her. Trust me she will like it." Sans promises though Frisk has her doubts. He turns knocking on the door making Frisk know that there's no turning back now.

Frisk takes a silent deep breath mentally preparing for the worst.

The door opens with Undyne, having on no armor, stepping out to greets the guests at her door.

The moment Frisk meets Undynes eyes she gets a pit of worry and fear in her stomach.
