Chaos Emerald Chaos
Having made their way back to Chris' place, Amy had reunited with Cream and Cheese. Gear even introduced Amy to Tika. The small animals were explaining to Chris and Chuck on how they ended up in their world.
"So this "Chaos Control" created a warp in time and space, and that's how you guys ended up here. Hmmm, I think I understand that much, but I still don't understand these 'Chaos Emeralds' you guys are talking about." Chris said confused
"You've never heard of the Chaos Emeralds? Boy, you really do have a lot to learn, don't ya!" Tails said
"I might've overheard Eggman mention something about that when I witnessed his battle with Sonic" Gear said
"According to my databank, the Chaos Emeralds are mystical stones that gives the user different powers" Sprocket said
"That's right, Sprocket. Each Chaos Emerald is filled with a magical power. So you could imagine what would happen if you found all seven of 'em." Amy explained
"If I were to guess, you would have all the power at your fingertips" Tika guessed
"Exactly" Sonic said
"But no-one has ever found all seven emeralds and now it's highly improbable that anyone ever will find them." Chuck said
"Why is that?" Cream asked
"Well, you see, Cream, every one of the precious Chaos Emeralds has disappeared." Chuck explained
"If that's true, then we may never return home" Gear said with a frown
"Chin up, Gear. That doesn't mean they're gone for good! Anytime the seven Chaos Emeralds come together in one place, they scatter and disappear all over again!" Sonic explained
"Then that means they're still out there someplace." Chris said
"That's right!" Sonic replied
"It is highly imperative that we search this world for these Chaos Emeralds" Sprocket said
"I agree, buddy" Gear added
"Me too" Tika added
"Only we don't have any way of knowing where. If they're on this planet, that's good, but if they're still on the planet we came from, we may never get home." Tails said
"Listen, if the emeralds ARE somewhere on this planet, and if we can find some way to locate them all, maybe we'll be able to reverse that time warp. You guys will be back on your home planet before you know it! Right, Sonic?" Chris asked
"Yeah. No worries" Sonic said
"By the way, Gear. I found something that you and Sprocket might be familiar with" Chuck said
"Really, Chuck?" Gear asked
"Yep. Follow me to the garage" Chuck said he walks out of the room
Gear and Sprocket both looked at each other and follows after Chuck. They were then at the door to the garage
"I found this thing just outside the mansion" Chuck explained as he opened the door
Once they went inside, Gear and Sprocket were shocked to see a familiar vehicle
"That's my hoverscooter" Gear said "You found it"
"Yes. I found it just outside the yard yesterday. I have a feeling it belongs to you" Chuck asked
The fox and robot examine the scooter and sees that it is damaged
"It appears as though the scooter has sustained some heavy damage from the fall" Sprocket said
"Not to worry. I can fix it" Gear said as he took out his MegaWrench
"You're gonna need more than just your wrench, Gear" Chuck said "I'll lend you some of my tools to help you"
"And I will do my best to assist" Sprocket added
"Right then. Let's get to work" Gear said
At a construction yard, a worker was working to finish a new building for Station Square. Unbeknownst to them, a green Chaos Emerald was partially buried in the sand. Meanwhile in a plane, the President was talking with his advisors about the recent incident. The President is an overweight man with grey hair and blue eyes and was wearing a formal suit.
"And, where are they?" he asked
"It seems the hedgehog, the fox, the robot and their friends are staying with a family in Station Square, and our agents have traced Eggman to an island somewhere in the Southern Sea." his advisor reported
"Well, get going! I want them captured!" the President ordered
"With all due respect, it might be best to keep them under surveillance so we can observe their behavior." the advisor said
"That's all well and good, but you'd better pay special attention to that dangerous Eggman character!" the President grumbled
"We've already sent out a reconnaissance team, Mr. President. We'll be sure to report back any suspicious activities." his advisor informed
And he was correct, as an agent has arrived at Eggman's Fortress by boat and flashed a flashlight to a faded light in the distance.
"Any word on the animals and the robot?" The President asked
"We've had our operatives watching them too, sir, and we're dispatching an undercover agent to get information on the boy. If there's any unusual activity, we'll know about it." his advisor explained
Chris was seen at school with some of his friends. One is a dark skinned boy named Danny and a girl named Frances
"I bet you that little hedgehog thing is so fast, they're never gonna get him!" Danny said
"Don't forget about that fox with a robot attached to his back. He makes some good use with those weapons he had when he fought Dr. Eggman. Not to mention, he was very athletic" Frances said before looking at Chris "Chris, you think they'll ever catch them?"
"Huh? Err... I don't know." Chris replied
Just then, the principal with another person came into the room. The man was wearing a blue jacket, light blue shirt, and gray pants.
"Children, may I have your attention? I'd like to make a brief announcement to you all. Your teacher, Ms. Westerly, will be taking a leave of absence. Therefore, she will be not with you for the remainder of the semester." he informed much Chris, Danny, and Frances' surprise "Please say hello to Mr. Stewart, who will be your substitute."
"Hello, children." the man next to him greeted
"Hello, Mr. Stewart!" the children greeted back
Mr. Stewart then narrow his eyes as he looked at Chris
"He looks nice doesn't he, Chris?" Frances asked Chris
Back in the garage, Gear and Sprocket were getting to work on fixing the hoverscooter. With the tools that Chuck had provided for them, Gear was able to fix part of it with Sprocket's assistance.
"Okay that should do it" Gear said as he puts down the hood of the scooter
"Are you sure, Gear? I don't know if the scooter is good to go yet" Sprocket said
"Let's find out" Gear said as he got on the scooter
He started the scooter and gunned the engine only for the engine to fail and sputter. Confused, Gear checked the hood and opened it. Then black smoke came out making the fox mechanic cough.
"You might be right, Sprocket. There might be a little problem with the engine" Gear said
"I would suggest not to tighten the bolts too much on it" Sprocket advised
"Thanks for that, Sprocket" Gear said as he wiped the soot of his face with a towel
"Hi, Gear"
Gear and Sprocket turn to see Tika coming in.
"Oh hi, Tika" Gear greeted
"I see your hard at work" Tika said
"You can say that. Chuck just found my hoverscooter. And me and Sprocket are trying to fix it" Gear explained
"I can see that" Tika said as she looked over at the bike "Maybe you should take a break"
"I can't. It still needs more work" Gear said
"Gear, you've been in here for at least 3 hours" Tika said as grabbed Gear's hand "You need to stop for a bit"
"I believe she is right, Gear" Sprocket said "It is not always good to overwork yourself"
"But but" Gear said but then sighed "Alright, I'll take a break"
"Thank you" Tika said "Now, want to go out for a walk?"
"Sure. We never did that back in our world" Gear said
Tika smiled and led the fox mechanic away. Sprocket couldn't help but chuckle a bit before tagging along
Back at Chris' elementary school, the bell rang and all the students were leaving for home. Chris was waiting for his friend
"Danny, c'mon, hurry up!" he called
"Okay, I'll be there in a minute!" Danny called back
"Christopher Thorndyke" Mr. Stewart called behind him which gets his attention "The principal told me your name, and I was wondering if you were the same Christopher Thorndyke whose father is the CEO of the Starship Software company, Nelson Thorndyke, and whose mother is the famous film actress, Lindsey Fair."
"Yeah, that's me." Chris replied
"Well, I must say, Christopher, it's a privilege to meet the son of such distinguished parents." Mr. Stewart said
"Thanks, that's very nice of you to say." Chris replied
"Good meeting you, Christopher." Mr. Stewart said as he held out his hand
"Good to meet you too." Chris replied as he shook hands with Mr. Stewart
"By the way, this might sound strange, but do you have a favorite animal?" Mr. Stewart asked
"Uh... well... um... hedgehogs and foxes, I guess" Chris answered
"And what do you think about robots?" asked Mr. Stewart
"Um. I think they're awesome" Chris answered "Is that weird?"
"No, not at all!" Mr. Stewart said with a smile
"Hey, Chris!" Danny called as he ran out of a classroom
"Huh?" Chris asked
"Sorry, let's go!" Danny said
" It was nice talking to ya, Mr. Stewart. See ya!" Chris said to Mr. Stewart as he and Danny head off
Meanwhile back at the construction site, a worker was using an excavator to scoop up some dirt until it touches the Chaos Emerald.
"What's happening!?" the worker asked as the power levels begin to spike
The excavator then begins to go out of control as it begins to move on it's own.
"Help! Somebody help me! I'm losing control!" shouted the worker
The other workers ran away as the excavator rampaged around the construction site. It knocked over a truck and then rolled over a pile of logs.
"I can't stop this thing!" the worker at the controls yelled
The excavator then got stuck in the dirt as the worker fell out of it. Eventually the excavator finally stops
"Hey are you alright?" another worker asked him
" I... don't know. All of a sudden, the thing has a mind of its own." the worker answered
They became starteld as the excavator moved again.
Back at the Thorndyke household. Gear, Sprocket, and Tika had finished their walk and was sitting on a couch in the living room watching T.V. Cream and Cheese were sitting next to them with the former reading a book. Then the T.V. shows the news
"An unusual gemstone was discovered today at a department store construction site. Eye-witnesses at the site report that construction machinery seemed to malfunction whenever it came within close contact of this strange jewel. The stone does appear to be radiating an invisible, highly-charged energy. Now, some of you watching at home, may be experiencing some static. This is a direct result of the gem's magnetic power." a reporter named Scarlet announced
Gear, Sprocket, and Tika looked at each other as she said that while Cream begins to doze off. Her book fell out and hit the ground which wakes her up.
"This is an artist's rendering." Scarlet said as she held up a picture of the Chaos Emerald
Cream, Gear, Sprocket, Tika, and Cheese gasped as they saw this
"Is that...?" Tika asked
"Yes. One of the Chaos Emeralds" Sprocket said
"They really are here" Gear added
"We've gotta tell Sonic! Come on, you guys!" Cream said as she and Cheese runs out of the room
"Right behind you!" Gear said as he, Sprocket, and Tika followed after them
Outside in the front yard, Sonic was taking a rest on a tree
"Pretty good nap. I needed that!" the blue hedgehog said as he stretched his arms
"Sonic!" Gear called out
Sonic looks to see Cream, Cheese, Tika, Gear, and Sprocket come up to him
"Oh hey, guys." he greeted
"Sonic, you won't believe it." Cream said
"What's up?" Sonic asked as he climbed down the three
"They've found one! They've found one!" Cream said
"Yes. A Chaos Emerald has been spotted at a construction site in Station Square" Sprocket added
Sonic widens his eyes at this
At Eggman's Fortress, the doctor was also watching the news
"Authorities are conducting a thorough investigation of the surrounding area to determine the possible source of the gem. SSTV will continue to keep you posted with further updates. This is Scarlet Garcia reporting live from the site for SSTV news." the reporter said
Doctor Eggman turned the monitor off with a laugh
"Well, what do you know?! A Chaos Emerald right under my nose!" he said
"Doctor." Decoe said
"Yes, Decoe" Eggman said as he looks behind him to see his henchbots
"Your cards." Decoe said as he presents the stack of cards to him
"Hmm. Let's see" Eggman said as he takes the deck and looks through them "Ah, which one? Hmm, I can't choose."
The doctor pressed a button and then placed the deck into the Selection machine. He then pulls the lever as the screen shows the spinning lottery until it shows a big bird like robot.
"Beacon!" the evil doctor said with a laugh
Then E-11 Beacon was getting ready to deploy. It then fly out of the fortress. Doctor Eggman flew next to it in his Egg Mobile. Unbeknownst to him, an agent spotted him leaving.
"Enemy aircraft spotted!" he said through a walkie talkie
"Roger" someone said on the other end.
Back in the air, Doctor Eggman and Beacon are continuing on to their destination
"Once I get my hands on that Chaos Emerald, I'll create an even more powerful robot, and getting rid of that pesky blue hedgehog will be a breeze! And I'll even take out that other fox and the defect all at the same time" Doctor Eggman said as he laughed evilly
Sonic had already sped off to find the Chaos Emerald while Gear and Sprocket went off to the city to search for the construction site. At the Thorndyke Mansion, Tails was prepping the Tornado 2 for take off while Amy sat behind him. Chuck, Cream, and Tika were seeing them off.
"Be careful! Don't get hurt, Tails!" Cream said in worry
"Don't worry, Cream. We'll be okay!" Tails assured his friend
"I hope Sonic knows where he's going. If he gets lost, we won't know where to look for him." Amy said as she worries for the blue hedgehog
"Don't forget Gear" Tika said with worry for her childhood friend "I know he has Sprocket with him, but I still fear he might get hurt"
"Don't worry about Sonic, if anyone can find the Chaos Emerald, he can." Tails said "And Gear can handle himself out there. I've seen him in action when he first fought Eggman"
"Good luck, and be sure to keep your eyes out for Sonic! And also Gear and Sprocket. I certainly hope they can find that Emerald." Chuck said
Then the Tornado took off. Cream then turns to Tika
"You really care about Gear. Do you, Tika?" she asked
"Of course I do, Cream. He's my friend" Tika said
"Hmmm. Are you sure it's more than that?" Chuck asked
This made Tika blush as she turns away
"Yes, I am sure" she squeaked
Cream couldn't help but giggle at this. She can actually tell that Tika has feelings for the fox mechanic.
In downtown of Station Square, Gear had just climbed up a fire escape and onto the roof of a building. Sprocket was attached to his back.
"It is a good thing you found that alley when we arrived here" the defect said
"Well, I figured I might have a better chance of finding the construction site if I travel on the roofs" Gear answered "Besides, I don't want to draw too much attention"
Using his wrist grappler, Gear grappled to another building after jumping on off. He then raced across the building and grapple onto another one. While he was doing that, he tries to search for the construction site. Meanwhile, Sonic was zooming through the city to look for the construction site
"The place is around here somewhere. Bet I can see it easier with a bird's eye-view!" he said before jumping up and landing on an antennae "I'll just chill out up here and wait for Tails and Amy! I wonder if Gear and Sprocket are having better luck in finding the site than I am"
Meanwhile, Eggman and Beacon flew over the sea. The doctor then detect something on his radar
"Hmm? Well, I do believe that someone is following me." he said as he looked behind him to see some missiles coming at him. Eggman laughed at this "This could be fun! What do you say, Beacon? Let's sink the vinks!"
E-11 Beacon flew right up into the air with the missiles following it. The bird like robot then dived down towards the ocean causing the missiles to hit the water.
"How do you like them apples?" Eggman taunted "You foolish flyboys thought you could pull one over on the good doctor, didn't you?! Well, I guess the bad doctor proved you wrong!"
The evil doctor and E11 Beacon flew towards the city.
Back at Chris' school, Mr. Stewart was doing a math problem on the chalkboard
"Questions, anyone? Mmm, alright, now you try it." he said
As Chris was trying to solve the math problem, he looks to the window and sees the Tornado 2 flying off. Chris gasped at this. This catches Mr. Stewart, Frances, and Danny's attention
"What are you looking at, Chris?" Frances asked
"Er... um... 'scuse me, Mr. Stewart, I'll be right back, I gotta do something." Chris said as he left the classroom
"Chris!" Danny yelled as he watched him leave
"Keep working, class. I need to step away from a moment. Study quietly on your own." Mr. Stewart said as he leaves the room as well.
Danny and Frances looked at each other in confusion. Chris had left the school and begins to rollerblade through the streets of Station Square
"I've just gotta find that emerald! Just got to!" he said as he skates off
What he didn't know was that Mr. Stewart was tailing him in his green car.
Meanwhile, Sonic noticed the Tornado 2 flying by
"It's about time! You'd think they can fly that thing a little faster." he said
"Hey, Sonic, it's over there!" Amy called as she points to the right
"Thanks! By the way, did you see Gear and Sprocket?" Sonic asked
"Not yet" Tails said "But I'm sure they are somewhere around here looking for the site"
"I guess I'll meet them there. Chaos Emerald, here I come!" Sonic yelled as jumps off the antennae and begins to leap from one building to another.
Gear and Sprocket continue to travel over the roofs of the building.
"My internal coordinates are saying that the construction site is about north east from here" Sprocket said
"Roger that, buddy" Gear said as heads north east of the building.
At the construction site, police had set up a blockade. A crowd of people were there along with the news crew.
"Wow, pretty freaky, huh?" a reporter asked
"Yeah, you said it! First, a weird hedgehog, a weird fox, and a small robot comes out of nowhere, now this magnetic emerald!" the cameraman said before noticing something "Hey!"
"What's the matter?!" the reporter asked
"Look up there" the cameraman said as he looks to the sky
"What's that?" Scarlet asked as she looks up as well
The cameraman points his camera to see Doctor Eggman and Beacon flying towards them
"Woah, hey, it looks like that Dr. Eggman guy!" he said
The crowd murmur as they look up to see the evil doctor and his terrifying robot. Gear and Sprocket was jumping across the roofs while Sonic did the same. The crowd then ran from the construction site. Sonic watched this.
"What's going on here?" he asked
"Sonic?"
Sonic turn to see Gear and Sprocket coming up
"Gear! Sprocket! What kept you guys?" he asked
"Oh you know. We were just taking our time trying to navigate the city" Gear replied
"After all, we don't have super speed like you" Sprocket added
Sonic chuckled
"I detect someone approaching" the defect said
Both the hedgehog and the fox both look to see Eggman and his robot coming.
"So, Dr. Egghead thinks he can nab that Chaos Emerald before me!" Sonic said before turning to Gear and Sprocket "I'll deal with him. You guys find that Chaos Emerald"
"Are you sure?" Gear asked
"Yeah. Just leave him to me" Sonic said before speeding off
"Will he be okay?" Sprocket asked
"He's got this" Gear said with a smirk "Come on, we got an Emerald to find"
Meanwhile, Doctor Eggman and Beacon were flying through the city.
"Heh, we're closing in!" he said before noticing Sonic in the distance "It's that blasted hedgehog! But wait. I don't see that other fox and the defect with him. No matter. Change of plans, we'll come back for our little treasure later on. First, we'll get rid of that meddling Sonic!"
E11 Beacon obeyed him and charged right at the blue hedgehog. Just as Sonic made a big leap, Beacon rammed Sonic into the air. Eggman chuckled at this. As Sonic sailed into the air, Beacon charges in and bashed him again and then does it repeatedly. As the robot was juggling Sonic, Amy and Tails flew by.
"Quick, Amy!" Tails yelled
Amy takes out a power ring
"Look Sonic, the ring!" she called "I'll throw it to you! Catch!"
She throws the ring at Sonic. He attempts to catch it, but misses and the ring fell from the sky
"Not good" Tails said
"Oh, no! We're too far away! Hey, what if we try to get closer?" Amy suggested
"It won't be easy, but I can try!" Tails replied
"All right, let's do it!" Amy said
Back with Gear, he continues to leap through the buildings to reach the construction site
'I just hope we're not too late' he thought
"Now that our speedy little friend is out of the way, let's get back to our original plan, shall we" laughed Doctor Eggman
He flew down and lands the Egg Mobile at the Construction Site. Getting out, Eggman uncovered a blanket and begins to dig in the dirt. As he dig, he gets a glimpse of something. Digging some more, he uncovers the Chaos Emerald. Smiling, the evil doctor attempts to grab it, only for someone else to snatch it. It was Chris
"Ugh! Give that back to me!" he demanded
"I can't believe it. I found the Chaos Emerald!" Chris said
Eggman sneaked up behind him and taps him in the back. Chris looks behind and the evil doctor slapped his hand making him throw the emerald upward allowing Eggman to grab it.
"Hey, that's mine!" Chris yelled
"Sorry. Not anymore. Besides, my dear boy, you'd hardly know what to do with such a thing!" Eggman said with a laugh as he got into his Egg Mobile
"But I found it first!" Chris yelled as he climbed on
"Buzz off, kid!" yelled Eggman as he tries to shove Chris off
"But it's mine!" Chris argued
"Let go of me, you pipsqueak!" Eggman yelled
"Give me that!" Chris yelled
Gear and Sprocket landed on a roof near the construction site. Gear saw Eggman and Chris fighting.
"Eggman" he said
"It seems as though we are too late" Sprocket said "Eggman must've gotten the Chaos Emerald"
The evil doctor and Chris continue to fight until Doctor Eggman started the engine and flew up which knocks Chris off. Luckily, Chris grabbed the lower antennae as the Egg Mobile flew up. Gear and Sprocket gasped as they saw this
"Oh no! Chris!" Gear yelled
"Quick, after them!" Sprocket said
Meanwhile, Sonic continues to be rammed by E11 Beacon
"HEY! Knock it off!" he cried
Just as Sonic was sent upwards, the Tornado 2 flew in
"Sonic!" Amy called as she held out another power ring
As Sonic flew closer, he reached out and this time, grabbed the ring. With the ring in hand, Sonic dived down and performs a power spin. Sonic then tore through E11-Beacon making it explode in the process. Just as Sonic landed on the ground when he heard Chris. He turns to see Chris holding onto Eggman's Vehicle.
"HELP! SOMEBODY HELP" he screamed
"It's Chris!" Sonic said before zooming after them
Tails and Amy also saw this and begins to come after them as well
"We're coming, Chris!" Amy yelled
"Chris, hold on!" Tails yelled
Eggman was looking at the Chaos Emerald in his hand with a grin as he flew upward. Suddenly, some blaster shots were fired at his direction
"Whoa!" he yelled as he dodges them while Chris held on "Who did that?!"
"That would be me, Eggman!"
Eggman turns to see Gear standing on a roof of a building with his blaster out
"Ah, the fox and the defect. So you showed up after all" Eggman said
"Hey. At least know my name. It's Gear" Gear said
"And my name is Sprocket" Sprocket said with a glare
"Whatever" Eggman said dismissively
Just then, Chris climbed up the Egg Mobile. Eggman saw this and tilts the Egg Mobile up and down to make him fall off. Gear gasped and raise his blaster
"Hold your fire, Gear" Sprocket said "You might hit Christopher"
"Great" Gear said as he lowered his blaster
Chris held onto the wing of the Egg Mobile. When the doctor attempts to tilt the Egg Mobile again, Chris nearly fell and ends up grabbing Eggman's mustache causing him pain.
"I won't let go! Give me back that emerald!" Chris demanded
"You grubby, little beast, let go of my moustache!" Eggman yelled as he got Chris's hand off his moustache and making Chris fall from the sky
"NO!" Gear and Sprocket screamed as they saw Chris falling
"That caterwauling brat certainly was a handful!" Eggman said as he fixed his moustache until he notice the Chaos Emerald is gone "ARRGH! My emerald!"
Chris continues to fall from the sky. Mr. Stewart saw this as he was driving. He presses a button on his car and the roof of his car opens and the back seat inflates. He made his car speed up.
"I'll save him!" he said before notices something else
"We're coming, Chris!" Gear yelled as he swung on his wrist grappler
As Chris got closer, the fox mechanic grabbed him and swung off. Once he was close enough, Gear lands on the ground and puts Chris down.
"Gear. Sprocket. Am I glad to see you" Chris said with a smile
"Back at ya, Chris" Gear said "You're lucky that we're around."
"By the way, Christopher. What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be in school?" asked Sprocket
"I was. But after I saw the Tornado 2 fly by, I had to come and help" Chris said before holding out the Chaos Emerald "Oh, and I got this too"
"The Chaos Emerald! You have it?" Gear asked
"Yep. Before I fell, I was able to snatch it from Eggman" Chris explained
"Very clever, Christopher" Sprocket said
"Hey guys!"
They turn to see Sonic approach them
"Sonic" Gear and Sprocket said
"Hey. I saw you saving Chris, Gear. Nice work" the blue hedgehog said as he gives the fox a thumbs up
"Thanks" Gear said
"Now that we got the Chaos Emerald. I believe now might be a good time to regroup with the others" Sprocket advised
"You're right, Sprocket. Let's get out of here" Sonic said
And with that, they head off to find the others. Unbeknownst to them, Mr. Stewart was watching them
"Well, it's good to know someone else is looking out for the kid. Speaking of looking out for kids, I'd better get back to school." he said before driving away
Back at the Thorndyke residence, Sonic, Gear, Sprocket, and Chris regrouped with their friends. They were lookin at the Chaos Emerald
"Now that we have one, we just need six more!" Cream said
"That's right, Cream" Amy said
"I'm not certain we should keep it here. After all, it might have an effect on my equipment." Chuck said cautiously
"He is correct. Might I suggest keeping the Emerald in a non-mechanical container" Sprocket said
"Good idea, Sprocket. That way it won't cause any problems here" Tika said
"No problem, if anything goes wrong with them, I'll fix them for ya!" Tails said to Chuck
"Alright, it's a deal" Chuck replied
"Okay, grandpa!" Tails said
Chris then walks up to Sonic
"Um, Sonic. I'm sorry" he apologized
"What are you sorry for?" Sonic asked
"Well, for... for losing-" Chris stammered
