UA: Between Classes
In the free time between what classes they had left, Momo ended up requesting Rex and Izuku have a chat with her in the hallway. The pair saw nothing wrong with this, so they followed her.
"Thank you for agreeing to have this conversation with me." Momo stated.
"S-sure, no problem." Midoriya was clearly nervous.
"Eh, I don't mind if people want to talk." Rex added casually.
"I asked you to come with me as I believe one should start with the basics before devoting themselves to learning." Momo informed. "To me, that is the only way to become a top hero. From our exercise earlier, I can tell you both see the same…at least on some level.
I believe there is more I could learn from our exercise provided you two are fine with an exchange of information. To show my intentions are pure, my Quirk is Creation. It allows me to make any non-living thing I want.
Though, I must understand the molecular structure of what it is I want to make, or else I can't produce the item. I also must essentially secrete the items out of my bare skin, hence why I designed my costume the way I did."
"Ah, it makes sense now why someone like her would dress like that." Rex noted. "Though, there are other options.
"That's an amazing Quirk." Midoriya declared excitedly before slipping into muttering. "The sheer amount of versatility alone goes beyond many Quirks that even some of the pros have.
"Well, it's not all it's cracked up to be." Momo spoke up with a small laugh. "The molecules to construct these things have to come from somewhere, and that's my fat lipids. Essentially, I need to eat to restore those otherwise I can't use my Quirk."
"Kind of similar to my Quirk in that I need foods for the Build portion of my Quirk." Rex informed. "It's called 'Evo'. Aside from builds, I got a touch of durability, a small healing factor, and technopathy."
"Whoa, no wonder you scored so many points in the mock battle." Izuku realized. "Your Quirk was tailor made to cinch it."
"Yeah, figured that out the moment I learned what the test was." Rex smiled. "As for my builds, it's down to understanding engineering, the stronger I am, the stronger they'll be. If my brother hadn't helped me train, my builds wouldn't be where they are now."
"Fascinating." Momo noted. "Your builds have their similarities to my creations; however, you're much faster in generating them."
"Part of it likely comes from the fact that my builds tend go over my body parts rather than coming all the way out of me." Rex informed. "The other is that I trained to make them come out fast. After all, no Villian will simply wait on you to prep your Quirk."
"Hm, fair point." Momo admitted. "If I had been faster with my creations, things could have gone differently in the exercise." She nodded. "Now, while I am curious about your Quirk, Midoriya, I will admit I'm currently more curious about that plan you two concocted. It was a little more advanced than I would expect from your average junior high graduates."
"Well, we're in UA." Izuku replied. "I'm fairly certain that means no one in our class could be called average."
"You know what I mean." Momo rolled her eyes. "I was admitted on recommendation; however, the plan you two created is one I wouldn't have thought of."
"My older brother was once socially inept." Rex responded. "I loved him regardless, he's also much better now, but I made it my mission not to turn out like that." He shrugged. "Guess that gave me a talent for reading people. Like I said, Izuku was the one who refined it."
"Are you two related to a pro hero, then?" Yaoyorozu inquired.
"Nope, my dad works overseas while my mom never became one." Izuku informed. "I actually spent a lot of time observing Heroes and have notebooks on all of them."
"The rest of my family works in support." Rex answered casually. "I guess mine comes more from book smarts." He looked at Izuku. "That said, you got anything on me?"
"Well, yes." Izuku nodded. "I've been making pages for everyone in Class 1-A and actually have a lot to add after that earlier exercise."
"Sweet, that must mean you got some tips." Rex patted his shoulder. "We should trade contact info. I've shown I can help you on some level with your Quirk, and I think you could do the same for me."
"You certainly gave me a lot of help yesterday, so I'd be happy to help you in return." Izuku answered honestly.
"If it's not too much trouble, could I get in on this." Momo answered. "After speaking with you two, I believe there is much I could learn from your areas of expertise, and I do think there are things I could help with as well."
"T-That would be great." Midoriya answered. "A girl actually wants my contact information!"
He hadn't even traded information with Ochaco yet.
"It would also make it easier for me to get information on your new costume, show you want it." Rex answered which caught Momo's attention. "I don't know if you've heard of it, but it's possible to make costumes from your hair."
"That's amazing." Midoriya answered. "If the costume is of her own DNA, then it wouldn't impede her Quirk."
"I was not informed of such from where I got my costume." Momo answered. "Is this true?"
"Yeah." Rex nodded. "My builds go over my clothes, but my mami, papi, and hermano have all made them. It's not going to be free, but with my name attached, I could get a nice, discounted price."
"I'll pay whatever it cost just to get a costume like that." Momo declared.
She was all in on being able to design a costume more fitting for herself. With everything sorted, the three of them shared contact information. In Momo's own words, this was the foundation of a wonderful class relationship.
Outside UA: Next Morning…
As Rex made his way to UA for his third day, he noted that every day thus far had presented something new, and it seemed today was no different given the reporters at the gate. "Given All Might is a teacher here, I suppose it was only a matter of time before this happened."
On that note, one could see this as practice for dealing with the press since it was a common occurrence for any Hero. With that in mind, Rex kept walking right up to the gate. As soon as he started making his way through the crowd, a female reporter thrusted a mic in his faces.
"You're one of All Might's students, aren't you?"
"You bet, and I'll even answer some of your questions before I head in." Rex answered.
"Thank you, young man." The reporter didn't waste any time. "So, what was it like being trained by the number one hero?"
"It was great." Rex answered. "He made the class feel lively."
"What kind of teacher is he?" She continued questioning.
"I think that'd be hard to pin down after only 1 day with him." Rex responded. "Though, I certainly liked him well enough."
"What's he like in person?"
Mr. Aizawa then walked in front of Rex. "I think you've bothered my student enough."
Aizawa walked with Rex while the reporter tried to get their attention. Rex would have turned around, but Aizawa advised against it since it would probably make them try to stay a bit longer. After that, Rex heard a very loud alarm, as well as multiple sounds of metal doors.
He turned around and then saw that the entire entrance was blocked off. "What just happened?"
"One of them probably tried to get in and tripped the security system." Aizawa explained.
"Makes sense." Rex nodded. "Some people don't like heroes and would try to attack the school where we're made."
"Right." Aizawa nodded. "We made it that only students, police, people with a special pass, and faculty members can get in here, unless we disable the security system ourselves."
"That's good to know." Rex remarked.
"That means you shouldn't lose your student ID." Aizawa commented. "Now, get to class."
Rex realized class was about to start, so he took off as fast as he could. He'd either arrive before the bell or Aizawa which should mean he'd still be time.
Class 1-A
"Alright class, listen up." Aizawa declared as soon as he walked in the room. "There's a matter we need to address that will impact your futures."
Practically everyone thought, "Is it another Quirk Apprehension?"
"You need to choose a class representative." Aizawa informed.
"I think he enjoys psyching kids out." Rex thought before turning to the idea of Class Rep.
In most schools, being class representative meant a lot of extra work with little reward, but at UA all that extra work tended to pay off with endorsements from pro agencies. In an already prestigious academy, it was a way to gain almost guaranteed success after graduating.
"Still, not sure if the extra work that comes with it is worthwhile." Rex was basically the only one not trying to garner support for the position.
"Everyone, calm down!" Iida shouted to be heard above the noise. "Whoever becomes the class representative must be able to take charge and in a way that sets an example of heroism for others. That is why I believe we should hold an election to decide this matter."
"Is that really the best idea?" Tsuyu inquired. "We don't really know each other that well, and now we're supposed to vote on who'll represent our class for the year?"
"It'll just go to show that whoever does receive the most votes will be suitable for the job." Iida turned to Aizawa. "Is that acceptable?"
To their surprise, their teacher was slipping inside his yellow sleeping bag as he muttered, "Do whatever you want." He laid back. "Just have the matter settled by the end of my nap."
"Thank you for your trust!" Iida declared with a swift bow before turning around. "Write down the name of the person you believe to be the best choice for our class."
After the Results:
The results were laid on the board in order of who received the most votes.
Izuku Midoriya – 5
Rex Salazar – 3
Itsuka Kendo – 2
Koji Koda – 1
Rikido Sato – 1
Tsuyu Asui – 1
Yuga Aoyama – 1
Hanta Sero – 1
Kyoka Jiro – 1
Katsuki Bakugo – 1
Fumikage Tokoyami – 1
Mezo Shoji – 1
Mashirao Ojiro – 1
Momo Yaoyorozu – 0
Shoto Todoroki – 0
Tenya Ida – 0
Eijiro Kirishima – 0
Mina Ashido – 0
Ochaco Uraraka – 0
Denki Kaminari – 0
In the end, Izuku, Rex, and Itsuka were the only people to come out with more than one vote.
"How did I get four more votes!" Izuku exclaimed in shock.
"Well, one of those is me, and he apparently voted for himself." Rex thought. "Considering we're out, as well as the fact that I think two of my votes came from Denki and Mina, who is my third vote?"
"Okay you idiots!" Bakugo stood up. "Who voted for him!?"
"What, did you honestly think anyone would vote for you?" Hanta retorted.
That clearly set Bakugo off, but many things did that. By this point, it was nothing new.
"Zero votes…" Iida was shaking. "I feared this might happen, but I can't argue with the system I chose."
"So, you voted for someone else, huh?" Itsuka asked.
"You knew it was best to vote for yourself, right?" Rikido added. "What were you trying to prove Iida?"
Not long after, Aizawa awoke and was informed of the results. The teacher then brought Izuku, who was shaking, and Rex to the front of the class.
"Alright, class rep is Midoriya while his deputy is Salazar." Aizawa declared.
"So, this wasn't a mistake?" Izuku asked.
Rex shrugged. "Seems like it."
Cafeteria
Considering they were just made class rep and deputy, Rex decided to sit with Izuku today. This naturally brought Tenya, Ochaco, Denki, Mina, and Momo to the same table.
Ochaco really liked her food. "Oh, this rice is delicious."
"Guys, I'm kind of worried about this class rep thing." Izuku voiced genuinely. "I don't know if I'm qualified."
"I believe you shall do well." Momo gave a small smile. "After all, I would not have voted for you over myself if I did not think as such."
"You were one of my votes, Momo?" Izuku questioned stunned.
"It's only natural given your quick thinking and courage." Tenya added. "At least, that is why I voted for you."
"I was the third one." Ochaco added.
"Considering how you helped refine that plan, I threw my vote in with you." Rex declared.
"That means you got three other people to vote for you!" Izuku exclaimed.
"One of those was me." Denki smiled. "I had planned on voting myself, but Iida's words convinced me otherwise."
"Same here." Mina nodded. "It might have been brief, but you inspired everyone back in our mock center."
"Yeah, I figured you two likely gave me a vote, but I don't know who the last could have been." Rex shrugged. "Not sure if it really matters though beyond being the thing that put me over Itsuka for deputy."
"Who do you suppose was the one who voted for her?" Mina asked.
"No idea, but I think it proves she's become an accepted member of our class at least." Denki voiced.
"Didn't you want to be rep, Iida?" Ochaco suddenly asked. "I mean, you totally look the part."
"Wanting a job and being suited to it are different things." Iida shrugged. "If I've learned anything from the Iida Family Agency, it's that."
"Agency?" everyone repeated causing Tenya to stiffen.
"You know, that brings me back to a question I've been meaning to ask you and Salazar…" Uraraka looked at the two of them with a curious grin. "You come from money, don't you?"
"I suppose my family has money, but we've never been big on wealth in the conventional sense." Rex answered. "I mean, we got nest eggs, savings, and are well off; however, a good majority of it goes back into the company. It's a real morale boost."
That did make Rex wonder what could have driven Van Kleiss to where he was now. Based on what his family said, he had no reason to doubt it, their argument had simply been about the company's current contract with Providence. Even then, it wasn't anything major.
Iida then gave a long sigh. "I was afraid people would treat me differently if they knew about my family." When most of the table stared at him intently, he gave another sigh. "The people in my family have been Heroes since the first generation of pros. You might say it's in our blood."
"That's so cool!" The two students exclaimed.
Feeding off their classmates' enthusiasm, Iida asked, "Have you ever heard of the Turbo Hero, Ingenium?"
"Yeah, I know all about him!" Midoriya grinned, much to no one's surprise. "He's a super-popular hero with sixty-five sidekicks working with him at his agency! Wait…" It must have clicked with the boy because he started to say, "Don't tell me…"
"He's my elder brother." Tenya declared proudly with a large smile. "Ingenium is an unmatched field commander who honors the hero code, and as the second son of the Iida family, I strive to be just like him!"
"Your brother is awesome!" Uraraka practically squealed.
"I did not want to pry yesterday, Rex, but I assumed by your last name that you were part of the Salazar Family." Momo voiced. "In other words, one of Japan's premier Hero Support Companies."
"That's right." Rex nodded with a proud smile of his own. "Don't think I'm ashamed of them or anything." He shrugged. "Support work just wasn't my calling because I've wanted to be a Hero ever since I could remember."
"What'd you tell them when you applied for UA?" Denki inquired.
"It's more like they knew this is what I would do." Rex smiled. "Mami's always worrying about us, but she accepted I would do this regardless. Fortunately, my family is great, and they've supported me to this point."
Everyone smiled upon hearing that.
"Back to the topic of my want to be class rep…" Tenya continued. "I believe Midoriya is better suited to the job than I. After all, he figured out what the judges were really looking for during the practical exam. We need someone with that kind of foresight in the lead."
"Actually, about that…" Midoriya started, but he was interrupted by the loud sound of an alarm.
"What is that?" Mina questions as everyone stood up.
"Level three security breach!" A female voice announced over the P.A. system. "All students, please evacuate to your designated areas."
"Anyone know what that means?" Iida asked no one in particular.
"It means someone managed to force their way past the security!" a third-year student exclaimed as he scrambled to get out of his seat. "This has never happened in my three years here!"
"Hm, could this be Van Kleiss?" Rex questioned internally.
"They got past the school's defenses?" Mina asked as she and the others began to make their way out. "That's bad."
"You think!?" Iida snapped as they reached the crowded exit and had to yell to be heard over the mess of frantic students. "At least everyone is reacting quickly!"
"Yeah, but they're panicking!" Midoriya shouted, doing his best to stay with their group.
"Gah, okay this is ridiculous!" Rex shouted.
He put one hand on the shoulders of two random students nearest to him before leaping up and pushing down on them to shoot above the crowd. While they unfortunately went down, this mess shouldn't last long. Rex built his Boogie Pack before flying to the head of the students.
"Alright, knock it off and at least act like you attend UA!" This began to draw everyone's attention, so Salazar took the time to survey the crowd before noticing out the window what likely tripped the alarm. "There isn't even anything to be panicked about.
The media are behind the alarm going off; however, that doesn't really matter. Look, we're all part of the best Hero Academy in Japan. Regardless of circumstance, regardless of what class you are part of, we need to prove it. We can't do that like this."
Everyone shared relieved looks with Midoriya staring up at Rex in awe. At that moment, the police arrived to handle the situation while the students proceeded to their designated areas without the fear of being trampled.
Class 1-A
Once everything was handled, students were allowed to return to their classrooms where Izuku and Rex took their place at the podium.
"Alright, that whole mess was sorted, so let's get to it class rep." Rex declared.
"Uhm…right." Izuku was clearly still nervous. "We need to figure out the other class officers, but first…there's something I want to say." He gradually firmed up. "I've thought about this, and I believe Rex Salazar should be our class rep!"
"What?" Rex questioned, surprised.
"He captured everyone's attention and got us in line when we needed it." Midoriya declared. "That is why I believe he should be leading our class."
"Knew he had it in him." Denki smiled. "This is exactly what he did back in the mock battle."
The rest of the class chorused their acceptance.
"This is a waste of time." Aizawa voiced which scared Izuku. "I don't care who class rep is. Just hurry it up."
"Looks like I don't have much of a choice; however, you're not getting out of this." Rex moved to Izuku's left and put a hand on his shoulder. "Far as I'm concerned, I'll accept my provided you take deputy."
"Me?" Izuku asked surprised.
"Well, we worked well together yesterday." Rex shrugged. "Might as well continue."
Izuku smiled and nodded. "Alright, I accept."
Kirishima smiled to himself. "Looks like things worked out better than I wanted them to.
The red head had been Rex's third vote because he saw the guy help Midoriya. None of them, but Salazar, had noticed Izuku's struggle in the Quirk Apprehension. To Kirishima, Rex was a man worthy of leading. With Izuku by his side, he felt like they were in good hands.
Outside UA: After School…
"Congrats, pal." Denki clapped Rex on the back. "You showed today that you deserve the position, and I'm positive you'll do great."
"Well, you already know I wasn't gunning for it, but I guess I'll see what I can manage as representative." Rex responded.
"Hey, wait up to two!" The pair turned to see Mina jogging towards them with a big grin on her face. "Sorry, before we leave, I wanted to speak with Denki alone."
"Is that so?" Rex raised an eye brow before nodding. "Alright, I'll wait for you two at the front gate."
Once Rex was gone, Denki turned to her. "What's up?"
"Well, I was wondering if you had any plans this weekend?" Mina asked with a large grin. "I overheard you and Rex talking when we headed to our battle center. After hearing your reason, I decided to get to know you both. Now, I've figured we could try hanging out, just the two of us.
"Oh, uh…" Denki stammered since he hadn't really expected this. "Are you…asking me out?"
Since that day Rex broke it down for him, Denki hadn't really thought about attempting to pursue a relationship with Mina. Things have just been pretty good being friends.
"Uh…I guess?" Mina shrugged. "Hadn't really thought about it like that since I'm not sure where this would go. Honestly, didn't expect to think twice about that day, so I guess Rex's advice was spot on in that hearing your reasoning might get you somewhere."
"Yeah, I can see now why you wouldn't want to put any labels on it." Denki nervously laughed as he rubbed the back of his neck. "Why don't we just call it what you did?"
"I think that'll do." Mina smiled brightly. "How does a Sunday lunch sound?"
"Sure!" Denki declared happily before they traded contact information. "It's a hang out!"
"Great." Mina grinned before slipping away. "Now, let's go join our new class rep!"
Omake: Denki & Mina Hang Out
(Canon to this story)
Denki arrived at the mall where they agreed to meet. "Sorry I'm a little late!" It took a moment to pick her out of the crowd, but he eventually jogged towards Ashido. "My parents ended up calling just as I was leaving, so I missed the first train here.
"Not a problem." Mina grinned. "I was actually running a little late myself, so now I don't feel as bad."
Denki blinked a couple of times as he took in the sight of Mina in a bright yellow sundress. "Well, I feel underdressed."
In contrast, he wore gray pants with a short sleeved black shirt.
"Don't worry about it." Mina laughed as she slapped his shoulder. "After all, one of the advantages of this not being a date is that you don't have to worry about dressing up nice."
"Fair enough." Denki smiled. "We are just hanging, so where did you want to go for lunch?"
"Ooh, there's this place that makes really good natto with okra!" Mina exclaimed before grabbing his hand and dragging him through the crowd.
"Don't people eat that for breakfast?" Denki asked.
"Who cares!? It's the best!"
To her credit, the food was pretty good.
"So, if you weren't hanging out with me, what would you normally be doing?" Denki asked before eating some rice.
"Probably hang out with the girls, you and Rex together, watching horror/suspense movies, or go somewhere to dance." Mina answered. "You?"
"Listening to music and working on a motorcycle." Denki responded.
"Whoa, you've got a bike!?" Ashido questioned.
"Yeah, I have an appreciation for restoration projects." Denki smiled. "My parents support the hobby with money for parts. This current one I'm working on will be all mine, and I'm planning on having her done by the time I can get my license."
"Well, that's cool." Mina smiled. "Your parents are supportive as well which is equally great."
"Yeah, they're both pretty cool." Denki nodded his head from side to side. "I do rarely get to see them though. They tend to travel for work, but they're always calling. What about your family?"
"Well, I got two brothers, but we don't really get on well." Mina's smile dropped in favor of a more neutral look. "Both of 'em are super-smart and got into university on scholarships. Me, I've always been something of a slacker, so I guess they always looked down on me."
"Sorry to hear that." Denki responded sympathetically before grinning. "But hey, you got into a pretty prestigious academy for heroes."
"I know." The girl grinned mischievously. "Can't wait to rub in their faces when they come home during summer break. Plus, my mom and dad were totally supportive, which meant a lot to me. Since we're on the topic of heroes, want to better explain our Quirks?"
"Sure." Denki finished off his drink first. "Like I told you and Rex before the mock battle, my Quirk is Electrification. It allows me to generate electricity and cover my body in it. While I can fire it off, doing that sees it go everywhere indiscriminately.
Additionally, exceeding my limit causes my brain to short-circuit. I'm also able to absorb and neutralize any other sources of electricity. After what you told me that day, I've been looking into learning how to fight up close and personal."
"That's good to hear." Mina nodded. "As I said that day, my Quirk is Acid. It allow me to produce a corrosive liquid, of which I control the solubility and viscosity. While my skin is naturally resistant to it, continuous use can see my skin lose that resistance for a time."
"Ouch." Denki winced. "Still, with a Quirk like that, I think you've got a pretty good shot at going pro."
"I'm competing against people like Rex, Todoroki, and Yaomomo." The girl scoffed. "They've got more powerful Quirks and are smarter to boot."
"Yeah, they are powerful, but we could still try." Denki smiled. "Heck, we could even help each other. I mean, people often become stronger with a training partner."
"Huh?" Mina jerked her head up in surprise. "You're suggesting we train together?"
"Sure." Denki shrugged. "With powerhouses in our class, we'll work together to see what we can manage."
"I think I'd like that." Mina stated genuinely.
After lunch, they spent the rest of the afternoon browsing through various stores, from a bookstore to a clothing shop. Since they were just hanging out, Mina did not make Denki appraise her in outfits, much to his relief.
"Even if we were on a date, I don't think I could help you." Denki commented as they left the shop. "I mean, I'd like to think I know trendy, but I'm pretty sure it's only the guy side of things." He glanced at Mina who had a grin on her face. "Mina?"
"It's just nice to know you're not opposed to the idea of a date." Mina responded. "I mean, I don't think we're there yet, but I'm starting to not mind the idea, given just a little more time beyond today."
"I'm fine with that." Denki did after all blow the first impression, so the fact that he even got Mina to this point was a miracle. "Honestly, you're a cool girl, Ashido, so I don't mind taking this at the pace you want."
"If today is any indication, it won't be long." Mina smiled. "Anyways, what do you say we go grab an early dinner? Since I picked lunch, it'd be your choice this time."
"Sweet, I know this great burger place." Denki declared.
I think if Momo had gone up against/been paired with Midoriya, we'd have seen something similar as to what I portrayed at the start of this chapter. It is one thing to simply see Midoriya at work while it is another matter to pair up with or compete against him. Given Rex was part of the equation, I could see her opting for a sort of informational exchange. As for her now coming costume change, while she clearly accepts her present costume, I refuse to believe it what she'd truly wanted.
We know from Mirio that creating costumes from your hair is possible, and that shouldn't impede her creations. Though, don't expect the new costume come the USJ as that will be happening far too soon for a new costume to be ready. Now, class representative. Rex strikes me as the type who wouldn't seek the position, but he'd accept it falling into his lap. Given Midoriya did help refine his plan and seemed fairly smart yesterday, he figured the guy would be good for it.
Might as well vote for him. Momo voted for him because the things mentioned prior. Shoto Todoroki would have then voted for Kendo because of she was the one who broke down of the match which I believe should be within her wheelhouse. Then, we get to the mass panic which sees Rex sort of usurp Tenya's moment. The important thing to remember in distinction is that Rex acted before ever realizing it was a false alarm.
This essentially sees Rex taking the Class Rep role; whoever, he's not about to let Izuku slip away. The way he sees it, anything he comes up with can be refined between the two of them to be a better even product. Then, the hang out between Mina and Kaminari. Rex's inclusion goes beyond what he simply does and extends into what he affects. I know a lot of people like Mina x Kirishima, but I think that really took off from the events of the work studies where we saw his past.
I don't have anything against that ship. It's a perfectly fine ship that given a split-second decision of not including Mina in Rex and Denki's Battle Center could have happened in this story. As things stand now, I'm pivoting into the Denki x Mina territory. As for giving Denki the hobby of restoring motorcycles, it seems a bit odd, I'll give you that, but I think it fits into the trendy/cool he actually likes according to data books.
Guest (Ch. 3): Yep, I got you.
Maximum Rhapsody: Rex's Quirk was Nanites before the aspect of builds was added which distinguished it from Nanitew. You got to remember that this is My Hero Academia. While Quirks can occasionally come out of the blue, here Rafael has the Quirk Nanite which was passed down to Caesar and Rex. The difference is that Rex's Quirk differentiated itself from his brother's and father's by displaying the capability of 'builds' hence its reclassification to 'Evo'.
As for Rex fighting Katsuki or Momo, the goal is to simply lay a hand on the weapon. Given how everything turned out, Rex had a straight shot to the weapon and prioritized that. Getting Bakugo out of the building was seen as the more logical option which only needed one person. Despite how Rex clashed with him the day prior, I still see Izuku as Katsuki's target. As for Isuka, importance is a relative term since I did roll a D20 to determine which Class 1-B student would get moved up.
