Tanya cashed in her crystals and got 4000 Valis.

Needless to say, it was an improvement from yesterday.

She headed out of the guild expecting to find Loki.

Indeed, she found Loki who was smiling.

With the man she met in the dungeon.

He made a surprised face.

He looked at Loki and then at Tanya.

"Huh, no way."

Loki lost her smile and looked curiously between the two.

"Did you two meet in the dungeon?"

Kuro held up a finger.

"Why yes."

Tanya looked at Loki, wanting an explanation.

Loki smiled at Tanya.

"You see, Tanya. I was out and about when I found Kuro here looking for a Familia to join so here we are."

Tanya accepted the explanation wordlessly.

Now that she thought about it.

She could easily dig information out of him now.

Loki could also tell her if he was lying.

She looked at him and he seemed amused.

"Never thought there'd be a day where I'd have to be working long term with you. But I'm willing to leave the past behind for goddess Loki."

He held out his hand to Tanya.

"Wanna shake on it? I promise there's no spit in my hand."

Tanya stared at his hand and didn't see any spit.

She cautiously shook his hand expecting him to try something funny.

Loki cheered loudly.

"Let's go celebrate!"

Tanya and Kuro agreed with her.

The three proceeded to go dine at an expensive restaurant.

At night Loki updated Tanya's stats.

There wasn't much change besides decent growth.

She then updated Kuro's stats and was quite surprised.

The next morning came.

Loki watched as Tanya and Kuro headed inside the guild together.

There was a worry inside Loki.

She could easily see the tension between Tanya and Kuro.

It was as if the two seemed to think the other would attack them at a moment's notice.

What a troubling first two Familia members.

She hoped new Familia members wouldn't be as fiery as them.

Inside the dungeon, Tanya and Kuro casually strolled together.

Kuro spoke first.

"You kill, I'll harvest."

Tanya wondered why.

"Why?"

Kuro shrugged his shoulder.

"You seem to enjoy killing more than me so you know. Unless you want me to kill and you harvest instead."

Tanya frowned at his casualness.

"That seems inefficient. We'll kill and harvest together."

Kuro agreed with her.

"Alright, you're the Boss."

Tanya arched an eye.

"The Boss?"

Kuro shrugged his shoulder.

She noticed he did that a lot.

"You see, I'm more of a brawn than a brain type of guy. Besides, you're the first Familia member so I'll have to give you respect because of seniority. But don't try to take advantage of it. I'm only doing it for goddess Loki."

Tanya scrunched her eyes.

"Understood but why for Loki?"

Kuro smiled brightly.

"You probably won't understand but Loki is my favorite goddess. Like how a fan has a favorite singer or wrestler. You just wanna be the best for them."

Tanya thought about it.

"I can somewhat understand."

Kuro suddenly had a thought.

"Why don't we split up, I don't think there should be any problem for you or me."

Tanya could see they would be making less Valis if they stuck together and agreed.

"Alright."

There was a sudden smile on Kuro's face.

"You know, I'd like to see which of us can earn more Valis. Wanna find out who's better?"

Tanya could see it would encourage competition and therefore more Valis.

"Very well, I'll take you on."

The two parted and went their ways.

Tanya thought about how to win.

She couldn't waste her stamina running around the dungeon or she'd get tired quicker.

Best thing she could do was travel fast and kill fast.

A goblin appeared and Tanya struck a feather into it's skull.

Quickly and precisely, she harvested it's crystal and move on.

Four goblins appeared and she easily dispatched them with four feathers.

She quickly harvested them and moved on.

Kobolds appeared and she killed them.

Goblins appeared and she killed them.

On and on, Tanya quickly traveled and harvested.

She didn't even remember to go to the second floor.

The day quickly passed as she went on a killing spree.

When the day was about to end, she and Kuro met up to return to the guild.

Both studied each other crystal pouch.

They entered the guild and cashed in.

After a while, they received their Valis.

Kuro got 6200 Valis while Tanya got 6700 Valis.

Kuro sighed in defeat which satisfied Tanya.

"I'll pay for the food tonight since I'm the loser."

That wasn't an agreement beforehand about it but Tanya accepted it.

"Alright."

The two walked together and met up with Loki.

They went to a restaurant and dined.

Kuro explained their competition to Loki.

"Honestly, I think I only lost because I'm not good at harvesting."

Loki seemed to agree.

"You'll just have to get better if you want to beat Tanya."

Kuro drank his mug.

"I don't know about better, but I do know about stronger. I think I'll have to break through the floors to beat her."

Loki became excited at his words.

"Oooooo, that's dangerous. Looks like Tanya will have to break floors with you."

Tanya drank her mug.

"I'll try to make sure you'll never beat me."

Night came and the three went back to the Tavern.

Loki updated both Tanya and Kuro's stats.

Their progress was decent and she was satisfied.

It also seemed they were getting more friendly.

Hopefully that continued.

When she first came down, Loki struggled and didn't like it.

But now that she had two talented Familia members, she was quite confident and happy.

Things seem to be going well.

She hoped it would continue to be so for as long as possible.
