The maids left a sleeping Tenya in her cribs and left the bedroom of Tanya.
Tanya's bedroom had Tenya's crib, a bed, a cabinet with books, a work desk, a chest, a closet, a flower pot by the window, and a bathroom door nearby.
It was a small but simple room.
Tenya was about to open her eyes now that the maids had left when Luna and Kuro came in.
"What are we doing in here Kuro? Pretty sure we're supposed to go pick up Daddy."
Kuro went towards Tenya's crib and pulled out a marker.
"What we must do of course."
He drew angry eyebrows on Tenya.
Tenya kept calm and looked asleep.
She wanted to bite his fingers off but she doubted she could.
"Also, remind me why we're supposed to pick up Daddy. She's a grown adult so I don't think she goes to school, does she?"
Luna shrugged her shoulders.
"Oh you know, she went to the god's public bathhouse and harassed a few of the goddesses. I think she's banned for life from there and is currently in jail so we have to pick her up."
Kuro drew a mustache on Tenya.
"Hmmm, why don't we break her out instead of picking her up?"
Luna smiled thoughtfully.
"Seems fun, if anything goes wrong, just more paperwork for Granny I guess."
The two went out of the room and closed the door.
Tenya opened her eyes and rubbed her face.
Unfortunately, she couldn't get the drawing off.
Curse those two!
Tenya decided to move on and started stacking blankets and pillows against the crib.
It was hard work as a baby since she could only crawl.
Moving a light blanket felt so difficult.
Especially because of her dexterity.
After a long while, she made a nice pile that led out of the crib.
Tenya pushed a pillow to the top of the pile and it fell out of the crib.
Looking down, Tenya took a deep breath and prepared herself.
With courage, she fell towards the pillow and landed softly.
Now escaped from her confinement, Tenya slowly crawled towards her destination.
She reached a book cabinet and looked up at all the books.
Looking at their spine, she couldn't recognize the words.
Tenya knew many people in the world spoke different languages, but somehow they all understood each other.
It was most likely because of the gods.
They must have done some kind of magic.
The door opened and Tenya panicked a little.
It was her mother.
Tenya blinked at her mother and her mother blinked back.
Her mother looked at the pile in her crib and the pillow below it.
She seemed slightly impressed.
Her mother came up to her and picked her up.
Using some magic, her mother erased the drawings on her face.
Her mother often did that and Tenya appreciated it.
"Do you want to learn how to read?"
Tenya blinked at her mother.
She couldn't nod since her mother might find it suspicious.
However, now that she thought about it, why not make her mother think she was a prodigy in the making?
Tenya gurgled and nodded.
A slight smile formed on her mother's face and she took a book from the cabinet.
It looked like a picture book.
How thoughtful of her mother.
To prepare so early for her education in life.
Her mother went to the bed and sat down with her legs wrapped around her.
Tenya felt safe and comfy wrapped around her mother's legs.
Her mother opened the book and started explaining every letter.
Tenya took in the information like a sponge.
After a long while, Tenya felt tired and became sleepy.
She soon fell asleep.
Tanya closed the book and carried Tenya to her crib.
She laid Tenya down gently into the crib and covered her with blankets.
Tenya breathed softly, safe and sound.
Tanya looked at Tenya's soft small hand and then looked at her hand.
It had blood on it, blood that Tanya didn't think would ever come off.
But that was ok.
Long ago, she was prepared to make others bleed and bleed herself.
But Tenya, Tenya didn't have to bleed.
Tenya didn't have to bleed like her or make others bleed.
She would make sure of that.
Tanya went to her bed and put the picture book away.
She locked her bedroom door.
When the bedroom door wasn't locked, it meant the maids could come in and clean.
Laying in her bed, Tanya looked at the ceiling and became thoughtful.
Usually, she didn't do that and just went straight to sleep.
Suddenly, time became still, and Tanya's gaze hardened.
Was it Being X?
No, most likely not.
Then who could it be?
"I guess Kuro hadn't told you about me since you seem surprised."
The voice was familiar to Tanya, very familiar to Tanya.
However, she couldn't quite place her finger on it.
"Do you want to keep Tenya with an E safe? I can make sure of that. All you have to do is do as I ask."
Tanya's gaze became cold.
"Who are you?!"
There was silence for a moment.
"I apologize, it was not my intent to startle you. Our meeting would have been much easier if Kuro had told you about me. Oh well, if you wish to know more about me, seek Kuro out."
With that, time resumed.
Tanya wanted to immediately get out of bed and go find Kuro.
However, she calmed herself.
The voice hadn't been threatening.
It also gave her time.
Time she could use to sleep right now.
After all, she deserved it with all the paperwork she's done today.
Tanya took a deep breath.
This better not become a pain.
Tomorrow, she would choke answers out of Kuro.
Outside, Kuro felt a chill went up his spine.
