One-shot XIX: Bathing time.
The twins ran and played in the garden, there were a couple of babysitters watching that they did not get hurt but in general they had the freedom to run everywhere, even get a little dirty. So, when they were full of grass and dirt, they decided it was time to take a bath, rather they decided it for them because they wanted to keep running around the garden.
They arrived to the bathroom and without asking or telling anyone, they only entered inside the room with the largest bathtub that, luckily, it was ready: there were scented candles, the bathtub was full of hot water, and it seemed that they could pour the perfumes and bath salts that they liked most into it and what most excited the kids was that there was a bowl of strawberries and chocolate as well as a bottle that they sensed it was juice with two glasses.
"They showed off, fit for a king" Tenzin said, starting to take off his clothes. Izumi followed him and with some effort they both entered inside the bathtub, their bodies were still a little small so they sit in the bathtub, their little heads were barely sticking out of the water "it's a great bath, but where's the shampoo?"
They quickly searched around but when they could not find anything, they resigned themselves and began to fill the tub with bath salts, they did not really know what they were for, they just knew that they smelled good and that maybe that was soap.
"Let's eat, it looks good" Izumi stood in the tub and extended his little hand towards the table to take one of the strawberries "they're delicious"
And feeling like royalty, they finished all the fruit, sometimes dipping it in chocolate or just eating it with their fingers, then they saw the bottle they thought it was of juice next to the crystal glasses.
"We can't serve ourselves, it's going to break and mom said we can't do that by our own yet."
As if it were the biggest dilemma of their life, they thought for a second before seeing a small bell, they knew it was for someone to help them. Tenzin stretched out and made it ring a bit, the kids looked at the door expectantly, until a young man came in with towels in his hands and saw them, he got surprised when he found that only the twins' faces peeked over the edge of the bathtub.
"Hi" Izumi greeted without recognizing the person in front of them. He was not one of their babysitters "we want juice" she said pointing to the bottle "please"
"Wait a moment" he put the towels on the table and removed some things from there, the empty plates, the bottle, the glasses, and a couple of jars that the kids did not bother to detail "this is not juice, but I'll be right back" he spoke hastily before running off, he already knew where the twins were.
The kids waited a few minutes when they began to feel tired, it was already time for their afternoon nap so without caring that they did not get their juice, they equally with difficulty left hoping not to fall to the floor; they took the towels and awkwardly wrapped themselves.
"What a great bathroom" both said satisfied, but before they could open the door, Zuko arrived who put on a relieved expression.
Zuko hugged them even though he was very embarrassed and confused.
"What are you doing here?"
"They said we should take a bath" Izumi simply answered.
"Why didn't you do it in your bedroom bath?"
"This one is better, and it was ready" Tenzin replied as if it were the biggest obvious thing in the world, Zuko almost told them it was for him but even if they did not understand, he did not see it appropriate.
"Okay, but if you want to be here, you must ask to prepare the bathroom specifically for you, your "mother" was worried when he couldn't find you."
"Sorry" the twins said in unison.
"Okay, now let's dress you up" Zuko put them some bathrobes that simulated a dragon costume, then he carried them and took them to their bedroom.
"Can we also eat while we take a bath?"
"I guess next time, and only if you settle for your own tub."
The twins nodded excitedly, and Zuko thought he should put a lock or something on the big bathtub.
