One-shot XXIV: Doctors.

That day Aang was sick, he had a fever, his whole body ached, and he did not want to get out of bed. At least he was sure that he could stay all day lying in his bed, he no longer had work that day because he had already sent everything to the publisher to have a day off, and his husband had taken the day off to take care of him. His little whirlwinds were watching cartoons in the living room, they actually had the television so loud that he could hear a bit of their programs, at that, Zuko entered into the bedroom.

"How are you feeling?" He asked touching his forehead to check his temperature.

"Bad" he barely complained.

"Are you hungry?"

"A little, I want Greek yogurt with strawberries."

"Your wishes are my commands" Zuko kissed his forehead "although it will take a while"

Aang nodded and snuggled back hoping to fall asleep, but after a couple of minutes he heard a knock on his door.

"What's wrong?" Aang half mumbled.

"We came to take care of you" Izumi said entering with the small doctor's robe and her toy briefcase in her hand "that is my male nurse"

"It's not true, I am also a doctor" the boy replied, clutching another small doctor's bag.

"Thank you doctors, I feel bad."

"I'll check you" the girl said approaching with a stethoscope, she put it on her father's chest while the other boy put a hand on his forehead.

"He has a fever" Tenzin said.

"What hurts?" Izumi asked.

"My head and throat hurts."

The kids looked at each other and pondered at the situation for a moment, they put on their best straight faces and Aang tried not to laugh.

"Am I very sick, doctors?"

"Yes, very sick" the girl began to speak, taking off the toy stethoscope "you will not be able to go to work for... for two weeks."

"You can't work at home either" the other boy completed.

"Can't I get out of bed either?"

The two kids still denying with their serious expressions, they were still young to fully understand it, but they knew that Aang had been under a lot of pressure, besides that they hardly saw him because he was locked in his studio working or going from one place to another all over the afternoon.

When Zuko arrived with the breakfast, he found his husband curled up in his bed amidst the twins who still had their doctor's robes but were most entertained watching a film on Aang's computer.

"The doctors say I shouldn't get out of bed for two weeks, so they'll take care of me."

"I see, then we won't let you go" Zuko approached with the bowl with fruit and yogurt that Aang had ordered and kissed his forehead "you deserve some free time"

"I promise you I won't be obsessed with it."

"You better listen to the doctors."

He was not in bed for two weeks, but Aang was able to have a few days free that he used to fully recover, for the first time he only stayed in bed watching films and being pampered by the people he loved most.
