Rewritten Chapter 5
Lucy's First Job
It's a nice bright morning at the fairy tail guild. Bartender and waitress serving drinks and food. Some Guild members look for jobs on the job board and some just choose to come and hang out.
"Is my Daddy back yet?" A small child asked as he look at Makarov who was sitting on the table.
"No," Makarov says with a relaxing old tone of voice.
The child's tears begin to form in his eyes "But Dad said he be back in 3 days, and it has been a week now" he says with a shaky voice.
"Don't complain Romeo. The son of a wizard should stay at home waiting for his father's safe returns" Makarov says to the child who is known as Romeo.
"Please go look for him, because I am worried about him!" Romeo shouted at Makarov.
Makarov shouted in annoyance "Don't even joke about...".
"DRAGON CHOP!" Natsu shouted as he did a strong chop on Makarov's head which made him stop talking.
"Natsu, are you trying to make my head split open! I will..." Makarov turned angerly at Natsu but stopped when he felt Natsu's aura that was full of anger not that Natsu's face show much other than his red eyes with slits. This made Makarov sweat all over as he has already been through this once and doesn't want to suffer again.
Natsu then turns to Romeo "Hello, Romeo. Sorry about the old man right there" As Natsu pointed at Makarov "He tends to forget himself sometimes. Now what this about your dad not being back for a week?"
"Dad took a job at Mount Hakobe, Sir," Romeo says and looked down at the floor.
Natsu grabbed a book from under the counter and look "Let me check" as he looks through it within seconds "Here's the job Macao took. Well, this could be worrying as he should have been done and back a few days ago." Natsu says to Romeo as everyone else listens as well. "Gray! I need you to go to Mount Hakobe to check on Macao and take the new member with you to show her the ropes!" Natsu shouted.
Gray who was minding his own business heard Natsu shout for him and shouted back "Why should I?!"
Natsu sighs "You're one of the few mages that know that mountain well plus it gives you something to do" he shouted.
Gray got up and grab Lucy "We have a mission to do," he says as he drags Lucy with him and Happy follows them.
"Don't I have any say in this?" Lucy says but nobody took notice and went back to what they were doing.
"Thank you, Mister Natsu," Romeo says and looks up to see Natsu handing him a slice of a Pie and Apple Juice.
"No problem and eat this since you haven't been eating well since your dad isn't back and don't worry about paying it's on Makarov's Tab," Natsu says which the boy nodded and walks to a table and eats.
"That was sweet of you, Natsu" Mirajane says as she looked at him with her angelic smile.
"Just doing my job unlike Makarov who trying to sneak away from the new set of paperwork that just come in again this morning about something blowing up and Tabs" Natsu says as he stares at Makarov back who stops.
"Why is this happening to me," Makarov says as tears flow down his eyes like a waterfall.
[Scene change]
Lucy gave Gray and Happy an angry look "Why do I have to come with you on this mission!" Couldn't you know to do it yourself!".
"Well, it a tradition in Fairy Tail that we usually go or take a new mage in the Guild to a job and in our case a mission," Gray says as he relaxes
Happy then finished eating his fish "It's also a way for a mage to judge what mage rank you will be in" Happy says.
"Mage Rank?" Lucy questioned as she is not familiar with it.
"Each Wizard are ranked for example Mirajane is an S Rank mage. She is extraordinarily strong with her magic but these days she an inactive mage and works behind the bar and kitchen" Gray says then he turns to look at Happy "Me and Happy are A Rank Wizards which allows us to …" Gray was interrupted as the horse carriage stopped
"Forgive me but the horse carriage can't go any further than this" The man shouted.
Gray opens the carriage door and drags Lucy with him which she complained about the cold while Happy laughs in secret then Gray thank the guy before he went back to the town.
"It's so cold up here and how are you not cold?!" Lucy shouted while shivering from the cold.
"Because I am an Ice Mage, so this feels fine to me," Gray says.
"Gray" Happy says before pointing at him "Cloths"
Gray look down to only seeing himself wearing boxer shorts "When did that happen?" he shouted
[Scene change]
"Hey, Lisanna. You're here late" Mirajane says as it is unusual that her little sister is late coming to the guild.
Lisanna smiled "I bumped into Levy in town, and we talked for a while until I realized the time" She says before seeing Makarov crying on the floor "What's his problem?" She asks while pointing toward the Guild Master.
Mirajane giggles with her hand near her mouth "Natsu banned Master from drinking until he finishes all the paperwork that he got from the magic council" she says.
Lisanna shrugs "That makes sense" before helping her sister out
As for Natsu he left to do his other job and begins to make more drinks at his winery.
[Scene change]
"Macao are you here!" Gray shouted
Then a Vulcan magically appeared and saw Lucy "It's a Human Girl" Vulcan says with hearts in his eyes.
"Ewww let me go," Lucy says
Gray take a quick action "Ice-make: Ice Hammer" Gray says as an Ice Hammer form and hit the Vulcan in the head which knocked him out instantly "Welp that was easy" Gray says.
Happy just float "Well only an idiot would fail to take to do that"
[Meanwhile in a parallel universe]
Natsu sneezes "Why do I want to beat up Happy"
"Maybe because you're an idiot," Gray says.
"What did you say Ice princess!" Natsu shouted
[Back to the main universe]
"Why the hell did that monkey come straight to me!" Lucy says with tears leaking out her eyes as she questions her luck.
Be Happy could reply the Vulcan begins to glow and everyone covers their eyes and once the glow is gone, they see Macao.
"Macao!" Gray says as he quickly went to check on him.
"What?!" Lucy says as she looked confused.
"It seems like a Vulcan took over Macao," Happy said.
"Well, I guess one of them managed to use take over on Macao when he was off guard," Gray says as he sees that Macao is okay but knocked out.
"Let's take him back to the Guild" Happy says which both Gray and Lucy nodded in agreement and left to take Macao back with them and a day later Macao wakes up and Romeo was happy to see his dad awake and okay.
Well, that's the end of this chapter. It's not a big chapter but to be honest, with how level-headed Gray is and the location which gives him far more of an advantage which is why this Arc ended quickly and I will be starting Eisenwald's arc but as an outsider as we will be following Natsu point of view and some fights from his side and delivery's. I also thinking about uploading 1 chapter a week of this story since now I have more free time and I will be able to make chapters bigger like having more than 3000 words. That is all I have to say So have a nice day everyone.
