R&R!
Enjoy the story!
It's a dark night, the stadium was luminated by lights all around the stands and in the ground lined around battlefield. Everyone was excited, and just walking into the arena you could feel it rush over you like the stepping outside on a cold day. Red and Paul felt it went they stepped in. "Wooo for a night battle this is quite the turn out!" Paul looked around with a nod and smile. "Well it is Brock, the Pewter city gym leader, only natural." Red pointed out not impressed by the crowd. "You're always such a dower nowadays." With those words they parted, Paul went to sit with his friends and Red just went in the opposite direction.
On his mission to find an empty seat he spotted Jillia looking down clearly not really here. He contemplated going up to her but ultimately decided against it and took the closest seat to him. "She lost..." Red whispered, fearing for the silver haired girl. He knew Giovanni, better then anyone probably, knew his plan and his desire to make it happen. The thinking man was pulled away from his thoughts when he heard a voice.
"ON OUR RIGHT, WE HAVE THE PEWTER CITY GYM LEADER, BROCK HARRISON!" The announcer, well announced as the tan man in question walked out of his respective tunnel. With a rock hard gaze he walked forward ready for the battle that was about to unfold. He looked up to the stands to see his friends cheering for him and he waved at them with a smile. He was gonna win, he knew it!
"ON OUR LEFT, WE HAVE MAKOTO AKIE FROM THE ORANGE ISLANDS!" Cheers for the new trainer were moderate, people looked on with excitement to see what the boy could do. He looked up to May and winked, which made her blush and Dawn to roll her eyes.
The two trainers eyes met. Brock kept his composure, he was used to battles like this. Makoto gave him a cocky smile and spoke "I'm not going to go easy on you." Brock scoffed "Likewise, let give them a good match." Before either could say more the referee was standing in the middle of the field with coin in hand. "PLEASE CALL HEADS OR TAILS WHEN I THROW THIS COIN IN THE AIR!" He showed the coin to the trainers one side had a pikachu face and the other side had pikachu's tail. He threw the pika coin into the air and yelled "CALL IT!"
"HEADS!" Brock called out. The two watch the coin hit the ground one grinned and the other scowled. "IT'S HEADS!" The referee shouted holding his hand out to the right. "Makoto if you would. Send out your first of six pokemon." Makoto played with his purple band around his left ring finger and smirked. "ALRIGHT!" He dug into one of his many pockets and pulled out a pokeball. "LET'S GO, TYRANITAR!" The green giant, rock and dark pokemon, roared leaping out of his ball and shook the battlefield a little. Brock nodded knowing the monsters weaknesses. "GO STEELIX!" The long metal snake pokemon came out with a roar of it's own, it wasn't as big as Tyranitar but it wasn't small.
"THIS WILL BE A SIX ON SIX BATTLE! BEGIN!" Were the last words the Ref said before stepping back to let the battle unfold. It was gonna be one to remember!
"Steelix use earthquake!" Brock started the battle off with a bang.
In the stands his friends were all cheering for him, even Misty and Serena were here to cheer him on. "Alright Brock! That's a good play!" Max Exclaimed with a fist pumped to the air. "Let's see how the new guy handles Brock's earthquake!" Gary yelled getting sucked into the battle. "Calm down Gary." Serena scolded shaking her head. Gary laughed rubbing the back of his head in embarrassment. "Sorry..."
"Tyranitar." Makoto pause and played with his purple band. "Stand your ground." Brock was shocked by this action. "He's planning on taking a super effective move head on!" He thought, so surprised he open his ever closed eyes.
"What's he doing?!" May asked just as in disbelieve as everyone else. Before anything more could happen she felt a vibration on her poketch. Reading the message a frown creped onto to her also smiling face. "What's wrong May?" Clemont asked fixing his glasses. Dawn hopped onto her feet and spoke for her. "The coordinator event is starting in an hour." After saying her words she walked off with a unreadable face. Paul watched her depart trying but failing to understand her expression. May too got up. "She's right. I have to go." She looked over the ledge of the stands and screamed. "Good luck Mako!"
Makoto looked up to the voice and smile. "I'll win this with ease!" He blew a kiss and turned back to the battle. His Tyranitar just got hit by Steelix's earthquake but he wasn't worried. Not at all!
Red saw May and Dawn leave but didn't really care. The thing that he did care about was what Makoto was up to. What was his plan? "What's your game Makoto?"
knocks were heard on the other side of the door. "Come in Maya." The man behind his desk folded his hands resting his chin in them. The automatic door retracted upward and revealed a women with jet black shoulder length hair, a white beret with a rainbow R on the front was atop her head. She wore a white women's trench coat with a tight black undershirt holding down her D cup breasts. She had , like Makoto, long black pants with lots of pockets and wore black high heels. The women in her mid twenties stood like a statue at the door saluting. "Sir!"
Giovanni chuckled slightly. "Maya I said come in." The women in question walked into the room and stood in front of the desk. "Forgive me." She bowed. Maya took her Job very seriously and she is rewarded for this fact being a high level commander of rainbow rocket. "Every serious..." The older gentlemen mumbled rubbing his right arm. Maya tired to hide the fact she had heard him but she saw him smirk and took it as an okay to joke. "Well we all know Seifer isn't going to take anything seriously." Giovanni openly laughed. "To true, dear."
Maya saw the man in front of her as a father figure, everyone in her team did. After all he did save all of us... The women's thought's were cut off by said father figures voice. "Now why I called you here." Maya put her serious face back on. "SIR!"
"How did Jillia's match go?" The women face soften at the mention of the younger girl. Giovanni asked, getting impatient. "Well?"
"She... Lost." She carefully watched the man's face as she spoke. He didn't take failure lightly! And she feared what he'd do to the sliver hair girl. He closed his eyes rubbing his temple. "I see..." He Muttered. Maya was about to say something in Jillia's defense but he... Smiled? "Call Jillia here, please."
"Y-Yes sir." She stuttered giving a salute and made her way out. Was he not mad? Her job was to take Gary out of the tournament and she fail to do so! Maya didn't know what was going on. But she had orders.
The battle between Makoto and Brock has been raging on for an hour now. Brock was winning, by a few pokemon! The gym leader had three pokemon left while Makoto was now on his last. Thanks to an attack from Brock's Crobat. "WITH THAT WING ATTACK FROM CROBAT MAKOTO'S COFAGRIGUS IS UNABLE TO BATTLE!" Cheers were sound throughout the stadium.
"ALRIGHT BROCK!" Gary cheered from the stands and then turned to Paul. "Come on dude you're not cheering loud enough!" Paul was just staring at Red from across the field. "Dude?" Gary waved his hand in front the purple haired boy's face. "Oh sorry..." Paul swatted Gary's hand away. "GO BROCK!" The pokemon professor in training just looked at Paul with confusion. "What's up with him?" Gary thought to himself.
"Makoto Akie, please send out your last pokemon." The referee demanded looking at the man in question. "Right... Let's finish this..." He mumbled taking off his purple band and putting in one of his many pockets. "GO! Hydreigon!" The three headed dragon came out with a roar from each head. Brock could tell it was strong, mostly Makoto's ace in the hole, card up his sleeve. Whatever you want to call it. One thing was true. It was a force to be reckoned with.
Red's eyes went wide seeing the pseudo legend. It was Makoto's most trusted, most power pokemon. Back then it was his partner, the one pokemon he could leave anything to. "You'll have to go all out if you want to beat that, Brock..."
Dawn was in the prepping room of the contest and... She was ready! She wore a sleeveless dress that started white, then merged into light blue, then dark blue at the bottom with white frills around the edge. a beaded chain around her waist with a dark blue ribbon and a yellow star on the front. A black choker with a moon and star attached to it. She had the same moon and star combo in her hair. Her gloves were also dark blue and to finish off the outfit light blue heels. (Her new contest outfit in journeys. I tried my best to describe it!)
She was watching Brock's match from a TV that was on the wall in the room. She was happy that her brother figure was winning but she'd be even happier if she one today and showed her what she can do... That she isn't in her shadow. NO SHE'S IN HER'S! Dawn placed her gloved hand over where her heart would be, trying to calm down. Dawn laughed slightly. "I'm pathetic..." She looked up to the TV again and was horrified by what was about to happen to her friend.
"Crobat use poison jab!" Brock commanded. His purple bat like pokemon's wings started to glow as it dashed towards the dragon. Makoto frowned looking down, grasping his left hand, He commanded his pokemon. "Hyper beam." He held his out in a commanding manner. It was to late for Crobat, it was right in front of the coming beam of energy. The laser collided with the bat and went right through the pokemon and it hit...
Everyone's eyes went wide as hey watched Brock get hit with the hyper beam. He screamed in agony as he was pushed into the wall all the stadium. Once the beam stopped he fell to his knees burned and half dead. Makoto rushed to Brock's side. "HOLY SHIT!" He cursed laying him down in his lap. His friend in the stand didn't even know what to do. They were in to much shock. But not Red! He jumped from his seat and onto the field dashing to where Makoto and Brock were.
The Referee quickly called an ambulance and called off the match. "I... I don't believe it folks. Ummm please make your way out the of the stadium." The announcer told the crowd which most happily complied. Not Gary, Paul, Misty, Clemont, Max, Bonnie or Serena. They all rushed down to the field to their friend. They all huddled around him. "You- you're okay. right? Brock?" Max choked out through the tears. They all just watched their friend waiting for the ambulance to come.
An ambulance pulled into the stadium. "OUT OF THE WAY!" Two men jumped out of the back of the vehicle pulling a stretcher behind them. They carefully lifted Brock onto said stretcher and placed him into the ambulance. Everyone watched as they sped away to the hospital. "He'll be okay. Right?" Bonnie asked somberly. No one answered. They didn't know. Would he be okay? Would he not be? They just didn't know. "Hey guys." Gary said breaking the silence. "Let's go back to the hotel and get some rest. Clear our head. You know?" Everyone silently agreed and made their way out of the stadium. Red looked to Makoto and saw him put his purple band back on, and start to leave as well, not before returning Red's gaze. The hooded man's eyes went wide, not like anyone could see them, he didn't plan this! Right?
Before He could think about it more he heard a tune. He looked up to the stands and saw that Jillia was still there. She pulled out her phone, the source of the tune, and she wore a shocked and fearful expression. She put the device into her pocket and left the stadium. "What was that about?" Red mumbled watching her go.
Dawn was scared. Did that really just happen?! The TV feed went down soon after Brock got hit but she saw it. All she needed to see. "DAWN!?" A familiar voice broke through her fear. She turned to see May standing at the doorway off the prepping room. "May?" Dawn stood up from the bench she was on. "DID YOU SEE-"
"I saw..." May cut her off with a tear falling down her face. But she dashed it away and put an clear fake smile. "He'll be okay though, I know it!" Dawn frowned but quickly shook that face away a replaced it with her bubbly, energetic smile. "You're right! Of course he'll be okay!" May watched in amazement. How could she always smile? She wished she could do that... "Always smiling. That's you!" May wiped away another tear. Dawn paused her 'cheering up outburst' as she calls it and looked at May. "That's me?" She thought. "What does that even mean?"
Brock was rushed to the hospital and is in critical condition. The group was at the hotel sitting around the lobby with somber expressions. The door opened revealing Dawn and May, they walked up to the others both with their own frowns. "Hey." was the only word May could form. "Hey." Gary returned the greeting "What happened to the contest?" He asked looking at Dawn still in her lunar costume. "They called it off. They told me that they'd try to reschedule, but it might get canceled." May explained looking away from Dawn's, now wide, eyes. She didn't know that! Her chance to show her, everyone who she really is... Gone? Could be canceled? NO! Dawn grit her teeth and turned around to no one could see her. Paul walked up to her and took her hand. She blushed and turned back around to see him smile. She returned in kind. He'd understand her. "Hey. It's not like you to be angry." Her smile broke and her mouth was just open and eyes wide. "Like me?" She thought "Not like me?" She broke her hands away from Paul's. "I'm tried." She spoke but it was barely audible.
Paul watched in confusion as she walked away. "Was it something I said?" He asked himself looking at his hands. "It isn't normal for her to act that way." Gary just blurted out. "Yeah. Where's real Dawn?" Bonnie asked no one really.
Dawn heard all that they said tightened her fist and rushed to her room. "Real me? Normal me? What the hell does that even mean?!" She made sure to lock the door before striping off her outfit she hung it nicely in the small closet the hotel room had, now only in her underwear, she just stared at the lunar costume before tearing her eyes away in scorn. She threw herself onto the bed she had claim when they first arrived. She just laid there she only thing keeping her from falling asleep was her thoughts. "How come SHE can be sad and it normal?" She turn to her side. "How come SHE can cry and it's the 'real' her?" Turned over to her other side "I hate her. How can she be herself so easy? I hate her! I hate May!" She was able to drift off to sleep after that.
Jillia was standing in front of the oppressive automatic metal door. She was nervous, she fail, Jillia knew that and feared it. The man, that surely would be sitting at his, just as oppressive, desk behind this door she few as a father, family, the only hint of familial love she could find. She gently knocked on the door and heard the voice of the man she was thinking about say. "Jillia, come in." She took in one last big breath and as the door opened she let it out. She had to face him and she would.
She walks in and to her surprise Maya was here as well. "Maya?" The older women smiled at the younger girl and gestured for her to sit next to her, in a chair that was at the the dark desk that she hated, She sat down and the nervousness coming back. "What's big Maya doing here?" She thought using the name she came up with for her. Maya was like her big sister she watched out for her, taught her things that she missed out on learning from a real, blood, family. Jillia loved her. Her big sister being around was always fun but why is she here now of all times?
"Now Jillia." Giovanni had his hands folded like he always does. "How did your match go?" He smiled at her with a questioning gaze. A bead of sweat ran down the side of her head. "I...I uh" She tried to speak but choked on the words, it didn't help that he just stared at her with those dark gray eyes. "I-I-I l-l-lost." She stuttered out bowing her head almost hitting her forehead of the desk. Her eyes were shut tight waiting for anything. What happened wasn't what she expected. "I know." She pulled her head back up in a swift motion that kind of hurt. "Huh?!" Giovanni just started to laugh it was brief but abnormal, both Maya and Jillia were surprised by this. "Of course I know." He bluntly stated standing up and walking to the window looking out to the mountain range before him. "You aren't mad? I-I fail..." Jillia asked looking down in shame. "No. I'm not mad. After all we fixed your failure." The silver haired maiden was confused until her orange eyes went wide. "Y-you told Mako to hurt that man. D-didn't you?" Maya looked to Giovanni for an answer as well. "Hmph. Of course." He sat back down gripping his right arm. "Red needed to see what kind of game he's really playing..."
Jillia looked away gritting her teeth in anger. "You ordered Mako to use his power, on a defenseless man, because of your grudge match against Red?" She spoke through her barred teeth. Giovanni raised an eyebrow at the girl while Maya just watch not knowing how to feel. "WHY?!" She looked Giovanni right in the eye, anger filled hers. Maya was surprised by her outburst. "Jillia calm yourself..." She whispered into the younger girls ear. "Do you know Maya?" Jillia turned to face the older women. "Know what?" Jillia looked down in sadness. "I talk to Red." Giovanni gripped the arm of his chair almost breaking it. "Is it true? Once you get the aura blades you're going to destroy the world?" Maya's eyes shot up in surprise. "Destroy the world..." She murmured. Giovanni leaned back caressing his nose bridge. Jillia watched in anger that he's not even reacting. "IS IT TRUE!?"
The man cracked a side smile. "Jillia if you were anyone else I'd have you killed." He slammed his hands on the desk and looked right into Jillia's not scared eyes. "But. You are more important then anyone else." He stood up and looked out his window. "But that doesn't mean I won't punish you. You to like talking. I don't like that." He pressed what seemed to be a button on the cuff of his jacket. "What are you going to do to her?!" Maya asked trying to shield her little sister figure. "Nothing to concern yourself with. Leave. That's an order." The women bit her bottom lip. "M-Maya?" Jillia tugged on the women's trench coat.
Before Maya could say anything else Rainbow Rocket grunts came flooding into the room. "Take her." Was all Giovanni said. The grunts grouped around the two girls. "Maya. Leave. Final warning." Giovanni almost shouted. "S-sir!" She backed away from Jillia and was going to leave. "Maya?!" The grunts picked up the light girl and started to take her away. "MAYA PLEASE!" Maya just watched as the girl was taken away. "Maya... MAYA!"
Red was now at the RV ready to get some sleep. "What a day..." Before he could the light flicked on to reveal Paul. "Paul? What are you doing here?" The man just laughed. "I'm worried about Brock too. But I didn't forget."
"Didn't forget what?"
"The Truth."
That's that! I hoped you enjoyed this chapter. What did you think? Any type of review is nice to get even if they may be "mean." Well with that see yea next time friends of fanfiction!
