R&R

Red was now at the RV, ready to get some sleep. "What a day..." Before he could hit it the light flicked on to reveal Paul. "Paul? What are you doing here?" The man just laughed. "I'm worried about Brock too. But I didn't forget."

"Didn't forget what?"

"The Truth."

Ash's face steeled. "Right..." He mumbled, hoping that he forgot about that. "Fine. Can I at least get some sleep?" Ash asked throwing himself onto the pull out bed, bouncing from the impact. Paul sighed. "Sure." He yielded to Ash's demand. "But I'm gonna sleep here too, so no sneaking off." Paul explained undoing his hair and plopping down into a nice, cozy, soft, green chair. Ash scoffed as his reply and turned over to get some rest. Paul hit the light and leaned back into his chair. "I'm never letting you run away again..." Paul muttered before drifting off to sleep.

It was white... Was the only thing that our injured hero could really process. turning to look around hurt like bitch, but he did it anyway to see a man, a spiky haired man sleeping in a chair, that looked SO uncomfortable. Brock just looked at him with thankful but sorrowful eyes. 'Has he been watching me?' He thought, he didn't dare talk, that might hurt like a bitch too. Despite the pain he looked up to see a clock, it was quite hard to see thanks to his eyes barely being open, he read the time. '2 am huh...' He thought before closing his eyes, he prayed, not for the last time...

It was a early morning for the gang sleeping at the motel, after all, how could they sleep knowing Brock' condition? Clemont was the first up and, with nothing else to do, started to cook for the crew. He let out a hearty yawn and he searched the, very boring, kitchen. "Come on, where are you?" He muttered as he looked for the mix to make pancakes. He wanted to surprise the others with a nice breakfast, it was the least, the only, thing he could do... He sighed, 'Can't think like that!' He thought as he shook his head to clear his thoughts. He opened a green cabinet. "YES!" He celebrated but covered his loud mouth, hoping he didn't wake anyone. He pulled out the container that held the mix he wanted and got to work.

He flipped his first few, he smiled at their perfect puffiness, he thought himself quite the master of pancakes, a stupid smirk on his face. He wiped it off when he heard footsteps coming down the, creaky stairs. He put on a welcoming smile for who ever it was, but, when he saw messy black hair and glasses, his grin went away, on came an annoyed stare. 'Him.' He thought. Clemont couldn't really, truly, tell you WHY he hated the younger brother of May, maybe it was his sisters, Bonnie's, apparent interest it him! Just to name one...

"What are you doing?" Max mumbled his question, just getting up, fixing his glasses. Clemont sigh, what did it look like he was doing? "Pancakes." He replied bluntly. Out of the edge of his eyes he saw Max nod his head and sit down at the bland white table. 'Damn brat thinks I'm gonna serve him!' He shook his head once more to get these dumb thoughts out. Someone close to him, like a brother, is in the hospital, he will play nice. He put some of his first cakes, three, on a plate and passed it to him, not looking at him at all. He heard the boy let out a small chuckle, 'He better not be laughing at me!' Clemont roared his head. "Thank you." Max said biting into one, "It's good!" He said after swallowing. Clemont scoffed. "Of course it is, I made it!" Why did he say that?! He sounded so lame! Clemont mentality scolded himself. He heard Max laugh, again! "You're right." He agree with Clemont's ego claim. 'When he agrees with me it's hard to hate him...' The older blond fixed his glasses and went back to making more cakes.

We now stand in a dark alleyway with two men, unknown to passerby's since it was pitch black in the way, back to back. "You there, Seifer?" The black haired man asked. He heard a scoff. "Of course I'm here, Mako." The one that is seen by the walkers laughed at the nickname. "Does Giovanni know it's done?" He felt the man behind him push off his back. "Yeah he knows, Makoto." He, Makoto, nodded. "Good." He started to walk away but was pulled back by the man, Seifer. "Have you seen Jillia?" Makoto Tensed from how hard Seifer's grip was. "She went back to HQ, I believe." Makoto answered with honesty. "Yeah, she was there. But I haven't seen her since." Makoto's eyes went wide!

"Looks who's up." Ash's eyes fluttered opened and see a outline of a man. "Yo." He mumbled sitting up. "I'll give you second to wake up, but I'm still not leaving." Paul said leaning back in his chair flexing his back out. Ash let out sigh. "Where to start?" Paul shrugged. "How bout, who your friends really are? And how you join GRAMPS?" Ash nodded.

"It starts..."

Ash was riding Charizard away from his friends, no, old friends. He gripped his mothers old knife in his right hand, tight. "What do I do now?" He asked no one, but the sky. He landed in a desolate, open path in some forest. He returned his fire lizard and fell to the ground. "What is my life now?" He mumbled in between sobs. He sat there for awhile, an hour, two? He didn't know. He didn't care. He was so alone. Alone... "Do you seek purpose?" Ash's blood red eyes went wide. He wasn't alone anymore. "WHO'S THERE?" He yelled into the forest. He reached for his pokeball, he cursed himself for leaving pikachu at the Oak ranch. "Please, no need for hostility's." Said the voice. Soon a man with a black suit came out with a tight grin on his face. Someone Ash knew. "Giovanni...?" Muttered under his breath. The man just walked up to Ash, coolly, like nothing. "If you want purpose." He lean in to Ash's ear. "I can give it to you..."

"I didn't know why he was there or what possessed me to nod my head and follow him to some airship." Ash narrated. Paul raised an eyebrow. "You never questioned him?" Ash let out a deep laugh. "Why would I?" He then sighed. "I would've went with anyone at that point, I think..." Paul looked down in regret. "Ash..." Red waved him off. "It wasn't your fault." He then went back to his story.

Ash now stood in a dark office room. He didn't say a thing during the ride, what would he say? "Now," He turned to the source of the voice, Giovanni. "You want to know why I took you, Right?" He said as more of a statement then a question. "Yeah..." Ash mumbled looking around. "What do you want with ME?" The man took a seat in a menacing chair and folded his hands. He also motioned Ash to take a seat in the chair before him, which he did. "Ash, I've been watching you ever since those three idiot found your Pikachu." Ash tensed at the fact of being watch for that long. Giovanni kept talking before he could say anything. "Now, why I want you, Ash Ketchum, well, there're multiple different reasons. But," He paused and leaned in to look the boy in the eye. "I wanted your power, aura." His eyes went wide. "My... aura?" He mumbled. "Yes." He stood up and started walk around the room with his hands behind his back. "You are not the first I've picked up for this reason." Ash narrowed his eyes. 'More... like me?' He thought. "If you were to accept his amazing offer, you'd get a team," He looked at Ash with a steel gaze. "That you'd lead." Ash was just in a constant state of surprise. 'Lead?!' Ash took deep breath. "And what is this offer?" Giovanni let out a slight chuckle. "Well, join rainbow rocket, of course."

"And you accepted?!" Paul asked with a scream, that made Red flinch. "Well, yeah." Regret and sadness came onto his face. "I didn't think anyone else wanted me..." Paul cursed himself. "Right..." They silently agreed to go back to the story.

"Are you gonna tell me why you want my aura?" Ash asked as he followed Giovanni through a dimly lit hallway, the walls seemed to made out of tough metal, to keep people out, mostly likely. "In time." The older of the two replied with a chilling grin. "But first I'd like you to meet your team." Ash nodded. 'My team.' He thought... 'I wonder what they'll be like.' He was hesitant to meet new people. "Actually," Giovanni started, stopping in place. Ash, almost walking into his back. "You need a code name." He finished. Ash tilted his head. "Code... Name?" He repeated. Giovanni nodded his head, slowing. "Your team all have code names." The gentleman stated, looking Ash in the eye. "You will be..." Giovanni paused thinking. Ash didn't really know what he should do, so he just didn't say anything. "Ah! Zero-Type-Red." Ash's eyes went wide. 'That type of code!' He screamed in his head. "Yes, it's perfect." Giovanni mumbled walking ahead.

"So, that's how you got your name, huh?" Paul said flipping a pen around in his hand. Red slowly nodded. "Yes. At the time I didn't know why, "It was perfect." But in time, I knew." Paul smirked and motioned for him to continue his story.

Ash, no, Red, was now standing in front of a door. He looked at the label, it read, "Secret team." He noted that this was apparently a "secret." "I'll leave you." Giovanni said patting him on the shoulder. "Please, make yourself at home." The man with the slick black hair walked away. Ash took a deep breath in and let it out, he reached for the door nob, the door nob that would change his life.

"This is great Clemont!" May complimented stuffing her face full of pancakes. The blond shook his head at the lack of her manners, but he still said. "Thanks, May." He looked around the table, he saw, May, still eating, if you call THAT eating. Max, was just trying to ignore his sisters actions, he already was done with his cakes. Dawn was picking at her food looking quite dejected, he wanted to help, but he didn't know how. Bonnie was peacefully eating her own pancakes, he thought her well, Clemont boasted fixing his glasses. Misty and Serena were not present, still sleeping he guessed, he sat two plates down for them if they came down. He let out a sigh and sat down himself and starting to eat some of his own cakes. It was painfully known that there were people missing. Brock was in the hospital, Gary was with him, hopefully sleeping. Paul was, he didn't know, he's a big boy he can handle himself.

He heard giggling from the stairs, so, he looked up to see two girls, one with orange hair, the other with honey blond. Serena and Misty. He doesn't know what happened, but, sometime those two girls become closer, like, a lot! Which is weird since he thought they hated each other, they acted like it... Blaming the other for, really anything. He remembered something May told him as a joke awhile ago. "Maybe they're mean to each other because they LIKE each other." He passed it off as one of Mays jokes but, maybe it had weight? But they aren't grade schoolers! He'd heard story's from others that kids would pick on their crushes, but... Misty and Serena were both adults, would they really do something so... Childish? He thought as he watched the two of them shove each other, playfully, after one said something. He was to busy thinking about the new born lesbians to hear what was said by the, apparent new lesbians. They sat down and he laughed in his head when Dawn scooched away, not wanting to deal with the useless lesbians.

"Alright, I think that a long enough break." Paul said putting two bowls in the tiny sink the RV had. "That oatmeal was quite good." Ash said with an oddly wide smile. "Well, when you've had it for so long the flavor kinda fades." Paul plopped back down into his chair. "HEY DON'T MOVE THE CONVERSATION AWAY!" Ash sighed. "Failure..." He mumbled. "Fine, where were we?"

He opened the door and saw four people, two guys, two girls. They all looked to him, eyes like pilot lights. The eldest, a women with short black, darker then his, hair walked up to him. He swallowed in her presence, she was quite intimidating. "Who are you?" She asked. "I'm As-" He paused. That isn't what they'd know, right? "I'm Zero-Type-Red." He said with a steel gaze. "Ohhhhh!" He heard someone say and saw a boy with crazy, spiky, blond hair walk up to him. "So you're the leader-man?!" Red thought. 'They already know I'm to be their leader?!' The other boy walked up to the crazy blond and patted him on the shoulder. "Sei-Fer-Type. Don't be rude!" The older, by a year it seemed, boy scolded the other boy. "Sorry, Mako-Type-Blue." Red Noted that they all seem to have strange code names, like him. "You need to retake your manners class." Quipped the other, much younger, girl. She had silver hair and a pissed off face. "Illia-Bleu-Type. It's nice to meet you, leader." The young girl held out her hand. "It's nice to meet you too." He shook her hand with a smile. The girls face turned red and looked away from him. To save the young one, the older one leaped in. "I'm Mai-Type." She introduced herself, with a stern face. Red quickly wondered what all the types could mean, but, tried not to think about it.

"They ALL had weird names?!" Paul asked, more so screamed. "Yeah. Still to this day I'm not really sure why they didn't get real names." Paul shrugged. "Maybe they weren't important enough to get real names." He mumbled. Red winced but sighed. "Maybe you're right, sadly." Paul cleared his throat. "Sorry." He evenly said. "It's fine..."

"After we all met and shit we were assigned to work together." Red narrated. "Train, battle, steal... Kill." He let the words sink in as he saw Paul grimace. "If you ever wondered what happened to big names that 'went missing' I might know something." He added. Paul's eyes went wide. He gulp before asking his question. "Brandon of the battle pyramid went missing one day. No one know where he went." Ash bit his lip before answering, almost bleeding. "Yeah. And I was the last person he saw." Paul's breathing went rapid. He knew that Ash was in some deep shit, but... Killing... Wasn't something he thought of. "It was all to strengthen us as a team, a team lead by ME." Paul almost wanted to tell him to stop, but... He played with his blue ribbon in his hair and gave Ash a look that said, 'Go on.' Which he did. "It worked. We become close. Like family." Red smiled fondly. "One day, we, me and Maya, wanted to do something that would change everything."

"Names?" The older women asked with a head tilt. "Yes." Red said with a small, tight, smile and a somber looking Pikachu on his shoulder. "Real names." The women shook her head. "What's a 'real name.' Huh?" Red took a deep breath in and let it out before answering. "Well, My real name isn't Zero-Type-Red. It's Ash Ketchum." That name felt so... Wrong. He hasn't, no one has, said that name in so long. "AsH...?" She said unevenly. He slightly laughed at the women before getting into a thinking pose. "Hmmmm." He hummed. "Your code name is Mai-Type..." He paused to think. "I got it!" He snapped his fingers. "How bout, Maya." The women froze at the name, but, a smile broke out on her face. "I like it."

"After that, we gathered the others up and brain stormed some names for everyone." Red narrated.

The team of five were all in the training room they met in, sitting in a circle. "So any ideas?" Red Asked looking at the other three. The blond jumped up with a wild grin, one that Red's gotten quite used to. "How bout just Seifer for me?!" Maya tapped her finger on her chin. "That is quite an easy one." The sliver haired girl raised her hand. "Yes?" Red acknowledged her. "What about me?" He hummed as he stared at her in thought, which made her blush. "What about, Jillia?" The newly named girls eyes went wide. "Jillia?!" Red nodded at her with a smile. "Yeah, your code was Illia so, I just added a J. Do you not like it?" Jillia rapidly shook her head. "NO!" She shrank after her outburst. "I-I love it..." They all looked at the other, last, boy. "Just leaves you Mako-Type-Blue." Maya said with a smile. The quiet boy nodded his head of black hair, that went over his eye. "Makoto." He simply said. "I want to be Makoto."

Red let out a soft melancholic laugh. "No one knew nor questioned why he wanted to be, Makoto." He narrated. "How did Giovanni feel about all that?" Paul Asked with a raised eye brow. "He... Didn't care." Red said with a shrug.

Red and Maya were now in the dark office that they've all become quite used to. "So you all have 'real names' now?" Giovanni asked looking out his window. Red gulped. "Yes." The dark suited man turned around. They feared that he'd be pissed, but... He had a warm smile on his, normally cold steel face. "Well, what are they? I'd like to get used to them."

"It was strange. But nice." Ash smiled, his eyes rosy with nostalgia. "I think, maybe, he cared." Paul just let him ride out his memories. "Well, that's pretty much 'Red's story' was there anything else." Paul rolled his eyes. "Are you joking?" Red just smirked.

"I want to know about the aura blades!"
