Yo, I'm back with chapter 9 of BFTH. I know it's been a bit, forgive me. I don't got much to say... Other then-

Enjoy the story!
"So..." Paul said looking out the window of the RV, the sky was darkening, a sign that it was getting late. Paul wondered if his friends were worried about him. Luckily, not luckily, thanks to Brocks battle the tournament in on a little break. "What made you leave your new family?" He asked sipping his cup of tea, something that Brock got him into.
Red let out a light chuckle. "After I found out the truth I confronted Giovanni about what I learned. And..." He closed his eyes, remembering what happened.
Red knocked on the dark metal door that led to Giovanni's office quite forcefully. "It's Red! Let me in!"
Giovanni grumbled. "You don't have to bang that hard..." He pushed the button that opened the door and watched Red rush into the room. "What do you need?" The man asked, folding his hands.
"I found this." Red said bluntly slamming the book onto his boss's desk. "And I read It." He added.
"So you have." Giovanni replied, unfazed.
Red gritted his teeth, getting pissed. "What do YOU intend to do with the aura blades?!" His mind was racing, what has he been working towards!? Destruction!?
Giovanni smirked, "I suppose I don't need to keep the truth from you at this point..." He mumbled, closing his sharp eyes. "I plan to recreate the world." He said plainly, as if it made the most sense in the world.
Red was taken aback, "Recreate... The world...?" He could barely form a sentence. "He wants to remake the world?! What's wrong with the world now?" Red thought, not comprehending.
"Yes." The man stood up and looked out his window, gazing at the world. "This world is ugly, corrupt and unjust." He looked to Ash with a welcoming smile. "Don't you agree?" He walked up to Red. "Don't you hate the world for taking your mother? Your friends?" Every step Giovanni took forward, Red backed away. "Wouldn't it be better to make a new world? One without that needless suffering?" He outstretched his hand, "Don't you agree?"
Ash didn't know. Did he agree? A new world... He could have his mother again. He could be with his friends again. But... That would mean turning his back on everything that's made him... Him!
"I know it's a lot to take in." Giovanni frowned, sitting back down folding his hands once more. The man watched his most trusted and strongest member sigh in contemplation. "I do have a job for you, if you are for it."
Red straightened his posture and steeled his face, a mission will help him understand. "What is it?"
"I need you to get one of the Aura blades."
Paul's eyes went wide. "He really ordered you to get one!?"
Red nodded, a little annoyed that he was interrupted. "Yes. The red one. The one I had resonance with."
Paul blinked in confusion. "Resonance? That... Matters?"
Red once again nodded. "Yes. If someone tried to use a blade they didn't match their Aura... They'd die."
This made Paul flinch in fear. "D-DIE!"
"Yes. Slowly... It will slowly eat your Aura, your life force... And kill you." Red explained with a face of stone, he's known for a long time now, it doesn't faze him anymore.
"Okay..." The purple haired man mumbled, processing everything so far. "So... Which do you match with?"
Ash let out chuckle because of the way his friend worded it. "Red. The brother."
"And that's why you were called RED!"
He nodded again, something he's been doing a lot. "You figured it out. Congrats."
"I don't need your congratulations..." Paul shook his head. "What happened next?" He pressed the other man to continue his tale.
"I took the mission of course..." A weary smile on his face.
"I was sent to a secret facility of some sort, didn't ask. It didn't matter." Red narrated. "I was alone, no team. It was a "big mission that only I could handle." At least, that's what Giovanni said."
Red, with his hood on, snuck around the garden area of a dark looking facility. It was a tall building with blacked out windows, you couldn't see through them from the outside but you can from the inside. The color scheme was bland and depressing, gray, gray and more gray, all in varying shades. He watched a guard pass, the man carried a gun. Red wondered what this place is, but, that isn't the mission. He creeped past the guards having conversation about dogs vs cats, it was an interesting discussion that Red didn't have time for. He reached the back entrance, which was being watched by a man with a different uniform from the others, likely a higher rank. "Damn..." Red cursed under his breath, not sure how to handle the man. He was instructed to not kill anyone, lest he cause a ruckus. A bone chilling grin formed on his face. "IF they find his body, that would cause a disturbance. BUT..." He walked out of his hiding spot with his hands up.
"Who the hell are you!?" The guard questioned, pointing his gun at Red.
"You see, good sir, I'm lost." He lied, taking his hood off to reveal an honest smile.
The man scanned the intruder for any obvious weapons and let out a sigh, seeing none. "You aren't allowed here, sir." He put his gun back onto his back. "I'll escort you back to the entrance." He grabbed hold of Red's arm, dragging him.
"Oh, thank you." He smirked. "That won't be necessary." A knife slipped out his sleeve and slit the man's throat.
"Gahhhhh!" The man groaned in pain, falling to the floor, bleeding out, gripping his throat.
Red cleaned the knife off and whispered. "For what it's worth, I am sorry."
After stashing the body away and stealing his key card, he was in the building. It was up in the air on where the blade was, the place was huge and complex, it might take him hours. Red sighed, "This is such a pain..." He muttered, lurking around the building. If he was caught now he would get shot without question. He snuck past many different windows, looking into each, hoping one would show him the Aura blade of the brother.
Red was knee deep in shit now, he was in the most guarded place he has seen so far. It was good news for the mission since this might be where the blade is. But, it's back for the one upholding the mission, if he gets caught it's over. He can't lie his way out of being in the most secure part of the building. "If I was an old, decrepit sword where would I be?" Red wondered in a whisper, tempting fate by talking. He scuttled across the floor, sticking close to the wall, praying he didn't get caught by the armed guard that just missed him. Before he knew it, he was standing in front of a huge door, with the same no see glass as outside, barred by a key card controller. "Dammit...!" The hooded man cursed under his breath. Much to his fortune and misfortune there were no guards around, "This place was off limits to most." He guessed, relaxing his shoulders to think. "I can wait around for a guard..." He mumbled. "That could take hours, hell, days..." Then a wild thought crossed his mind. "Or I can see if I can break in." He smirked, Red liked the idea. "If I break anything though... Guards would swarm me for sure..." He just shrugged. "Oh well." He drew his knife and mustered all his strength and stabbed the glass. The friction made his hand bounce off the glass, dropping his knife. Safe to say, that didn't break the glass. "Damn..." He rubbed his now sore hand and picked up his knife.
BEEP* *BEEP* "Intruder INTRUDER!" A robotic voice sounded throughout the whole facility.
Red sighed. "I should have seen that coming..." He frantically looked around for... SOMETHING! But he found nothing. "Shit, shit, shit!" Red cursed, he was running out of time. He punched the wall in anger. "FUCK!" He hit the wall too hard, it felt like it was broken. "Wait!" Red looked at his gloved hands. "Aura..." He closed his eyes to concentrate, trying to drown out the footsteps getting ever closer. A red aura was slowly forming around his hand and his matched his breathing with the aura flow. "GAHHH!" With a red energy covered fist he punched the glass and it shattered into many different pieces, some going into Red's hand, he ignored it for now and rushed into the room, he could hear voices getting closer.
"DON'T LET THEM ESCAPE!"
Red flinched from hearing the voice. "DAMMIT!" He scanned the room for the blade he wanted. A wild smile formed on his face. "Found yea." He walked up the blade that was encased in a strange force field barrier. Red didn't know if there was a way to turn it off or not but, it didn't matter. He reached into the barrier, burning his hand, it hurt like nothing else in the world, but he powered through and gripped the blade. "AHHHH!" His eyes turned bright red and his wounds disappeared. He ripped the sword out and smiled, he felt like the strongest man in history. He looked into the blade and saw things, things that weren't happening. He saw a guard with a guy draw on his yelling-
"FREEZE!"
Red's eyes went wide. What just happened was what the blades showed before it happened. He smirked. "So, that's what it does..." He started to dash away.
"OPEN FIRE!"
Red dodged bullets, barely and jumped out the window with a wild smile. He could see where each bullet was going to hit thanks to the blade. It was also quite light for its size, he guessed it was because of the aura part of the sword. He used aura to safely land on the ground and ran away, completing his mission.
"W-Whoa..." Paul Stammered, in disbelief. It was hard to comprehend his old rival doing all of that... And living to tell the tale.
"Yeah. Sometimes I have a hard time believing that." Red Fretted, looking down.
"No, I believe you. It's just..."
"A lot to take in?"
"Yeah."
It was dinner time at the poke motel. The table was filled with our heroes but no one really said anything, if they did, it was to the one next to them. Max, May. Serena, Misty. Clement, Bonnie. And Dawn sat alone. It was quiet. Some would say peaceful. But not now. Brock still hasn't woken up and Gary hasn't left his side. Plus, Paul has been absent for a good whole day now. It worried everyone. May picked at her food, she ate most of he plate, more than everyone else, she was trying to think of a way to lighten the mood. "The foods pretty bland today, huh?" Everyone but Dawn let out a slight chuckle, not because what she said was funny but to indulge her trying. "I mean, I know they have to feed everyone but, they could've at least got better food." She tried to joke some more, everyone but Dawn smiled at her. "Like, this steak is-"
"Shut up..." Dawn mumbled, causing everyone to look at her in shock. "Don't... Do that!" She closed her eyes and gritted her teeth "JUST DON'T!" The blue hair, normally happy, girl stood up from the table and stormed off, a tearing falling from her face.
The others just watched her go in shock and disbelief. After she was gone they looked at each other. "What was that?" Max asked no one in particular.
"Yeah, that wasn't like her." Said a new, but familiar voice.
Everyone looked at the source of the voice. "GARY!" They all said at the same time.
Everyone crowded around him, asking questions.
"How are you?"
"Why are you here?"
"Is Brock okay?"
"You smell man!"
"Shut up Max!"
"Are you hungry?!"
May, Serena, Misty, Max, Clemont and Bonnie asked, in that order.
Gary tried to wave them all off, but, it didn't work so he had to answer each question.
"I'm okay."
"Need to get out of there for a bit."
"I know I'm going to take a shower."
"Thanks Clemont."
"And, yes I am hungry."
Gary sat down and grabbed so food. Misty sat down next to him and said, "You didn't answer my question." With her arms crossed.
The spiky haired trainer sighed. "Brock is... Okay, to put it simply." Everyone gathered round to listen. "But... He might never walk again." They all gasped. "If he wakes up." Gary added, putting a steak on his plate.
Everyone looked at each in shock. May decided to speak up. "What do you mean...?" Fear in her eyes.
Gary's sorrowful eyes looked away from his friends. "He might never wake up." He gritted his teeth. "The nurse said that his coma could last forever." They all were frozen, speechless. "He'll live... But never wake up again."
"Don't worry, she is okay, not dead, I need her after all." He eased Makoto down. "She just needed to stop talking."
"Stop talking?" Makoto was confused. "What does that mean?!"
"Allow me to show you." He snapped his fingers. "Jillia, come in."
Makoto spun around at the sound of the door opening and he saw her... And he was even more confused. "Jillia? You... Don't look hurt." He walked up to her and smiled. "I'm glad." She never responded to anything Makoto said. "Jillia? Why won't you say anything?" She tried to look away but he cupped her cheek and made her look at him. "What's wrong?!"
"Nothing." Giovanni walked up to the two.
"What did you do to her?!" Makoto glared at his father figure.
The man wore an evil grin. "I still needed her but, I didn't... Like the things she was saying. So I..."
"You!" Makoto's gaze kept going from Giovanni then to Jillia. "Did you take out her vocal cords!?"
Paul sipped on some coffee, he needed to stay awake "You ready to tell me the rest?" The purple haired man passed Red his own mug.
"Yeah..." Red took a sip and cringed. "Damn! That's bitter..."
"Heh, you still have the taste buds of a child." Paul teases jugging down a large portion of his mug.
"Shut up!" Red weakly rebutted placing his cup down on the table. "Now. Where was I?"
Red was sitting in one of Rainbow Rockets many helicopters stroking, the now sheathed Aura blade. He was thinking deeply about what will happen when he gives Giovanni the fruits of his mission. 'Will he really change the world?' He thought. The hooded man looked out the single window in pondering. 'He needs both, right? Does he have the other?' He didn't know what would happen if he did. Red sighed as the helicopter landed on top of the rocket headquarters. He got off without a word to the woman who flew him here and he dashed down to Giovanni's office. He ran through the many corridors, all of them looked the same and dimly lit. Red breathed in and out in front of the door that barred him from his boss before making his presence known. "I'm here." Was all he said. The door opened and he was greeted with Giovanni's evil grin that he's gotten far too used to.
Giovanni stared at Red with his hands folded. "I assume you don't return empty handed?"
"Of course not." Red showed Giovanni the blade. "Who do you think I am?"
At the sight of the sword the normally so composed leader franticly, practically tripping over himself, tried to get up from his seat and stumbled over to Red. "Yes! Finally! It's here..." He was almost praying to it.
"So, what now?" Red asked plainly.
"Oh my dear boy. You don't know anything yet." Giovanni smirked before taking Red's hand. "Come, come. I must show you!" He dragged Red over to a random wall like a giddy child.
"What? It's just a wall." Red thought his boss finally lost it.
Giovanni laughed. "Watch this." He pressed a button in his cufflink and the wall opened in a dramatic fashion to reveal a similar container to the one Red found in the facility that housed- "Here It is Red! The blue Aura blade!"
Red's eyes went wide. "You have the other one!" He screamed, his grip on the red Aura blade tightening.
"Of course." He said like it was nothing. "But..." He sounded dejected. "I have no one to wield it yet."
"Huh?"
"Allow me to explain." Giovanni watched the blue blade with eager eyes. "You see. If someone without resonance for red and blue aura respectively tried to wield the matching blades." He looked to Red who was listening intently. "They'd slowly die."
Red's eyes went wide. "DIE?!"
"Yes. Don't worry. You won't die. I already knew your Aura before sending you on the mission."
Red sighed. "Well thank you." He said sarcastically.
"Only one person at a time can have the red and blue Aura at a time in the world. And they need to be related to the brother and sister of the tale."
"Does that mean-"
"Yes. You are related to the brother, Red."
"Wait, my code name!"
"Yes. It was RED because of your Aura."
"Okay... Makoto's code had BLUE in it. Does that mean he has blue Aura?"
"I thought... But not anymore."
"What do you mean?"
"Not important."
Red could tell the man was hiding something, but decided not to push it. "What about Jillia? She has Bleu in her code name."
"You catch on quick. Yes, I believe she might have the aptitude of blue Aura."
"If it's hereditary... Do you think it's gender locked?"
Giovanni nodded. "I do now. That's why Jillia is very important."
"Okay..." Red rested his chin in his palm, thinking.
"Now, Red. Place the Red Aura blade next to the Blue. We must call Jillia and start this!"
"Wait! You don't even know if she has the BLUE Aura. You could kill her!"
"It won't matter in the new world..." Giovanni's clouded over. "Now, RED! The blade!"
Thousands of things were running through Red's head. But the one that made the most sense to him was. 'This is wrong!' Ash's breathing became rapid. He heard Giovanni yelling at him to place the sword next to its sister. "NO!" He slashed at Giovanni's arm.
The boss hissed in pain, gripping his arm, trying to stop the bleeding. "What the fuck!? RED!"
"This is wrong... I DON'T WANT A NEW WORLD!" Red knew this world wasn't great. No! It was a hell. But... It's the world he lives in. AND THAT'S ENOUGH! "I'm going to leave, with the blade, and you are going to let me." Red began to back away before breaking into a mad dash. When he reached the door a burning pain reached his eye, he touched his face to see blood. "AHHHHH!" He screamed in pain. Through the blood he saw Giovanni holding the blue Aura blade, smirking.
"You aren't going anywhere." Giovanni charged at Red, his right arm dripping with blood.
Red tried to block with the sword but thanks to the blood in his eye and his inexperience with such a weapon he barely blocked, leaving long gash in the side of the red Aura blade. "Dammit!" He Cursed trying to back away from the bloodthirsty Giovanni.
"You can't escape!" The boss once again charged. "All I need is you alive! I don't need your legs!" Giovanni disappeared with a light blue flash and appeared behind Red ready to strike at his legs.
Thanks to the red Aura blades power Red was able to see the attack again, once more barely blocking. "Giovanni! Stop!"
"NOOOO! NOT UNTIL MY WORLD IS MADE!"
It was a long battle, blades connecting over and over until there was a deciding strike. "GAH! Red delivered a powerful over head slash right onto Giovanni's already injured right arm, cutting it clean off.
Giovanni fell to the floor in pain, screaming all the while. Red took this chance to jump out the window and make his escape. "DAMN YOU! GET BACK HERE, RED!" Giovanni frantically pressed on the button in his jacket. "ASH!"
"And the rest is history." Red finished with.
Paul was speechless. What could he possibly say to all of that. So he opted to remain silent.
"I know. It's crazy. Unreal." Ash started to laugh. "AND I WAS THE ONE WHO WAS THERE!"
Paul just watched his friend laugh like a mad man. "Hey." He placed a hand on his shoulder. "You're not alone anymore." Paul looked Ash right in the eye.
Red cracked a smile. "You've changed."
"Blame your friends." He joked.
Ash laughed a cheerful chuckle. "Then blame me." He looked out the only window of the RV. "I made em that why.
Makoto didn't know why he was here. Maybe it was guilt? Maybe he was lost? He walked up to the hospital reception desk. "Visitor for Brock Harrison."
As Makoto walked through the hospital he flicked his visitor card around as he jogged to Brock's room. "What am I doing?" He mumbled.
He took a breath in and it let out before knocking on the door. He heard, "Come in." From the other side of the door. When he entered he was met with a smiling nurse, one he wasn't familiar with. "I'm all done here. Enjoy." He watched her leave the room.
His gaze turned to the comatose tanned man in the hospital and looked away in regret. "I'm sorry, Brock..." Makoto took a seat as far away from him as possible while still being in the room. "It's all my fault..." He felt a tear run down his cheek. "I'm sorry!" He cried, it all hit him. What he was. A coded soldier following orders. "But... I had to do it! I-I owe Giovanni everything... YOU HAVE TO UNDERSTAND!" He screamed to nothing more than a lump at this point. "I had to..."
Giovanni is looking out the big window in his office, the same one Red jumped out of, just repaired, as he stroked his prosthetic right arm. "You are being quite troublesome, Red." The boss mumbled. "First you corrupt Jillia and now you're reaching Makoto." He shook his head, The man truly hated that traitor. That traitor he almost saw as his son. He heard the door open but didn't turn to see who it was since he already knew. "Good, you're here. Maya, Jillia."
The two female members of the rainbow rocket saluted their superior. "What did you need us for?" Maya asked.
"I..." Giovanni faced them. "Want Red dead."
Jillia's eyes went wide and opened her mouth but no sound came out.
Maya was sweating but nodded firmly. "Understood, sir!" Her sister in arms looked at her like she had three heads, Maya tried to look away.
"Good..." Giovanni muttered, taking a seat in his chair. "Time to end you, Ash."
Big chapter! I hope you enjoyed! I don't have much to say other than. See you later friends of fanfiction!
