4. Chapter 4: May my past burn

Dark Harvest Chapter 3

"NO NO NO! LET ME GO HOME!" Maria wailed. Her bloodied eyes were beginning to stick closed. Ammon took hold of her and hugged her. The poor girl was shivering from blood loss. From outside, Ammon could hear what sounded like hell itself.

"This is Delta 2-7, we're being overrun! Necromorphs have breached the outer concourse. We are cut off, broken arrow, I repeat Broken Arrow, for the love of Fuck someone answer. We have civilians in the vincinity of Kadic. Request immediate evacuation! LOOK OUT!"

an explosion rocked the area and Ammon gripped Maria tighter. She was so cold. Inside the darkness of the scanner, he could feel her blood beginning to freeze. His heart stopped as he pried the scanner open with all his might. Grabbing a blanket, he wrapped Maria as tight as he could and made an urgent call to the Military. Maria could be heard whimpering/

"m..mother!" she whined before collapsing from grief and agony.

"This is Ammon of Kadic, we have a serious situation. The factory has been sealed with Debris. Maria is with me, she's blind from the nuke. We need immediate extraction...it's so cold here. Please, for the love of god there's something in the vents...It killed everyone else. Everyone at the school, eaten...pristine. HELP US!"

Roaring could be heard from outside and something slithered into the area. It resembled a raptor but skinless. From its jaw came forth all manner of bloodied vomit and screams.

The wall beside them exploded as Mechs tore the creature apart and got Maria and Ammon out.

"This is Forward Unto Dawn Commander Miranda Keyes to all UNSC forces in and around Kadic, we have a class four level infestation. High Charity and COG forces are shocking in to contain the threat. All military forces in and around Kadic be advised, help is coming. Get her to the trauma ward and give this man a gun. I'm sorry son, we need soldiers. Get him suited up and ready to fight. Where's John?"

Cortana popped up and showed her an incoming pod

"Correction, we have a class five threat! Repeat, Flood infected coming down hard in sector 5,5 echo! all squads contain and remove. BLAST THAT SITE!"

The Hammer of dawn killed many but more flood freed themselves from the rubble. The necromorphs allied with their flood brothers and the school became a warzone.

"GET THEM OUT OF HERE!" cried Miranda. Ammon and Maria, too tired to move and too scared to do anything about the situation, boarded the ship.

The ship picked up a beacon

"Miranda, it's for you"

Miranda hit comms

"Identify yourself, you're in UNSC airspace"

"On the contrary, you are the ones trespassing, computer: Code 0-3"

Miranda looked around, they were in the network.

"Years ago we fled because of a threat unknown to us. Now we fight to take it back. We're coming aboard. Aelita, Yumi, watch the ship."

Ammon and Maria turned. Maria could not see but knew in her heart: The Lyoko Warriors were alive...and still very young.

"Come to me my child" said Aelita.

Maria blinked...she could see.

"How?" she asked

"Lyoko is MY world. You are safe here" Aelita said.

"Father, get her to a tower, get her armed"

Hopper whisked her away, she came back with a full suit of armor and a shotgun

"Captain? destination?"

Miranda gave control to Aelita

"Orders captain?"

Aelita smiled and headed for the Ice sector.
