Dark Harvest Chapter 4: Red Summer

The Forward Unto Dawn Stopped near the Ice Sector and Aelita and the gang went in.

"We'd take you but Lyoko only allows a set number of people" Odd yelled through the blizzard.

"Miranda, we've got contacts at 10:00" yelled one of the gunners.

Aelita fell to the ground as lasers rocked the ship. The entire Ice sector went red as a familiar ensignia covered the sky.

"No! we shut down the Supercomputer! How is XANA still active?" cried Odd as krabs populated the area.

"No tower this time, Miranda, set the ship to-"

Miranda could barely hear the transmission, it was too garbled.

"Boost the signal" she ordered.

"You eed o- Do- "

the signal faded from view as the ship took more fire. Aelita and Odd killed a horde of krabs as more came in to seal the breach. XANA's eye grew in stature as a Kollosus appeared on the horizon.

"Miranda, get us out of here!" Aelita cried.

Miranda could see a fleet of ships ahead of the Dawn and opened fire. Great holes were ripped into the ship, allowing the digital sea to reduce the ship crew to 5%. Now forced to take the gunner's helm, Miranda downed over a dozen ships, then quickly set the ship to retrieve Aelita and co. They barely escaped before the Kollosus stepped on them.

"Damage Report!" Miranda called out.

Aelita took a moment to check the ship logs.

"95% of the ship is damaged, Hull and Stern are too damaged to fix. Internal pressure dropping to unsafe levels, life support destroyed...we're adrift" said Aelita, broadcasting to any nearby ships.

"I repeat, this is Forward Unto Dawn broadcasting in the blind, we are in bad shape down here. Request repair crews ASAP. Life support at minimum safe levels. We're taking on digital water, guns destroyed over!"

Nothing for the longest time

Aelita opened a way tower and set two subs for docking and retrieval

"Miranda, Odd, you're up"

They got in the pods and were sent to the tower

"Yumi, Jeremy!"

Again, they were sent to the tower.

The Dawn was at this point mostly scrap. Aelita climbed aboard the last pod and set a course for the way tower. They went inside and were re-routed to Kadic.

"Are you nuts?" asked Yumi.

"We'll be ripped to shreds the moment we make landfall, the transporter can't take small arms fire" added Odd.

Jeremy input some parameters and the transporter became an armored warship.

"We're going and that's final" said Aelita, fire shone in her eyes.

The transporter shocked into Kadic airspace and it was a nightmare down below. Blood ran in the streets, children were ripped to shreds, their bones gnawed to splinters. What soldiers remained were holding at the factory.

"Viking Actual, this is Dagger 2-7, Target is reinforced casemate, request AP rounds, adjust fire, 50, left add 1, fire for effect"

An explosion rocked the area and knocked the ship off course. Touching down near the base of the factory, Aelita gave the orders.

"Jeremy, go with Yumi, assist the soldiers in whatever way you can, Odd with me, we're on lookout for civilians. Ammon and Maria, stay here and guard the ship"

Maria protested

"But-"

She was unprepared for Aelita's response

"YOU WILL STAY WITH THE SHIP! THAT IS AN ORDER!" Aelita yelled. An artillery shell came down close to their position.

"Get on the guns, don't die, lay down ccover fire for the civvies returning"

Aelita grabbed a radio and took over

"This is Commander Aelita Schaefer of the 1st Guards army. We have been away for the longest time. Much has happened since the last generation. We took out an adversary we never knew existed due to a company we all thought went extinct. As of now, I am taking over. Direct fire support to cover the arrival of Phoenix Battalion, we'll take care of the necromorphs. Recon and scouts will set beacons to direct the planes in. I do not want to lose a single squad. Ammo is scarce so use short bursts. We will use Kadic as a base. Set mines around the bridge and wire the span. You have your orders!"

The soldiers took their positions. The stage was set for the final assault.
