Crisis Core

Yumi woke up from her nap and went downstairs. Her parents were in the process of making breakfast. Hiroki was oddly quiet for some reason as Yumi sat down. She sipped her morning tea and got ready for school. She had history today, then math with Ms Hertz. XANA was seeminly destroyed so Lyoko was used for more mundane uses, namely Odd had turned the Ice Sector in a skate park. Aelita was staying overseas for the year and Jeremy had been hard at work adding a number of security upgrades to the supercomputer. Yumi went down to the factory and sat in the chair.

"Alright guys, you've had your fun, time to come in!" Yumi called out.

"Aww, I was just about to perfect the Nine Hundred. Hawk makes it look so easy too!"

Yumi hit a button and both Odd and Ulrich were devirtualized. Jeremy came in and sat down.

"What'd I miss?" he asked. Ulrich and Odd didn't say anything but sat down and began drawing.

"Out with it boys" Yumi coaxed them. Odd looked at her and said that they had found a new sector in the meanwhile, some place called The Wired. Some girl named Lain met us, she's weird. She keeps thinking we're not real. I'm flesh and blood and so is Ulrich"

"Mostly, save for a bit of Kiwi in you" laughed Ulrich.

Jeremy took a look at the scanner. There was a blackish orb emanating from the Ice Sector. There was also another string of letters: E-V-A-N-G-E-L-I-O-N. Jeremy's face went white and he ran another scan.

"Helix? What's Helix? Wait, what the hell are these coordinates? Interesting...we're being tracked by Angels"

"Who now?" said Odd confused.

"Not who, what?" said Jeremy, worry crossing his face.

"Could it be another Ploy of XANA?" asked Yumi. She was still reeling from the Kollosus.

"Nope, it's much worse. We're leaving now! in 30 seconds, the factory will be flattened"

Yumi ran into the scanner. Aelita, Odd and Ulrich went next followed by a reluctant Jeremy.

"Jim, what the devil is going on out there...Evacuate the school!"

"Mr delmas?"

"NOW DAMN IT!"

Delmas hurridly phoned the Police and reported something approaching the school

"SIR GET DOWN!"

An angel smashed into the building. turning Jim to bloody dust, before proceeding to belch fire onto the students. Tamiya's hair caught fire, burned her scalp to its core and she dropped dead.

"Get me the Military, we need this thing- LOOK OUT! FOR FUCKS SAKE IT'S GOING TO HIT THE FACTORY!"

A tank appeared and began to fire.

"Bring it down now! Contact HQ, tell them we have a Cat 5 situation. Bring everything!"

The Angel was destroyed. Silence followed, then a rumbling quake. The people saw a white light, felt a blazing sensation, then crumbled to dust as a blast shone from the heavens.

The now highly radioactive school was declared a biohazard and aid workers were prevented from coming in by French police. Another Angel appeared and was blasted out of the sky...right towards the school. It smashed into the ground, bounced off and fell into the sea. Four more appeared on the Horizon as Tank shells blanketed the sky, destroying two and forcing one to crash somewhere else. The last one kamikazed into the ground.

The impact from the Angel sent several thousand tons of concrete careening towards the aid workers and soldiers that stood guard outside of the blast zone. They never knew what hit them. All that remained were crimson red skid marks where a human body used to be. It landed just outside of the ocean shore and drowned ten thousand more people when the tsunami hit the city. Local and International news stations picked up the story and it spread like wildfire.

"It's being called the worst nuclear disaster since Cherynobyl as Authorities are working to get rid of the contaminated material on site. The bridge between London and Kadic is all but severed, keeping loved ones from their children. It is a nightmare on the ground as workers are swamped sorting the dead bodies from those that took cover from the blast. Volunteers from the US and Japan are flying in to ease the burden. We can only pray that this nightmare ends soon. Wait, we're getting reports that The US army and Japanese Government are forming a plan to strike back. Most of the East Coast is lost, Angel forces have taken over Tokyo...London is within reach"

Aelita disconnected from the web, they were inside a way tower. Jeremy looked like Link from Zelda but nobody laughed. The entire group was in shock.

"So this is it I guess. We're boned. If those things took out our military, what's to stop them from-"

Yumi shot Odd a death glare. Odd clammed up as Ulrich thought of a way out.

"Aelita, Lyoko is connected to the web, can you get us to the U.S?"

Aelita looked and looked but all U.S servers were down or locked up by the Pentagon.

"sorry Ulrich" Aelita lamented. A signal began to beep and Aelita zeroed in on the frequency.

"SEI?" she wondered.

While Aelita decoded the signal, the situation on the ground turned from mourning to bloodthirsty anger. After a period of six months to mourn, the people had seen enough.

Recruitment spiked 10% as the Angel/Human war began in earnest. Militaries from all over managed to achieve a temporary victory, stopping the inland assaults near D.C and completely destroying a nest of Angels that had landed in North Dakota, where Remnants of the all but destroyed 11th armored blew hole after hole in the invaders. Military forces managed to take back both North and South Dakota, part of Washington and completely recaptured California overnight.

The final death knell for the invaders was achieved by a combined force of GIGN, SAS and Delta Force operatives which were all that remained of the army at this point as most military command points were destroyed, mobilization was quickened due to a perceived threat of airborne assaults by Angel forces. Canada was covered in AA, AAA and armored elements from the 101st and 82nd in preparation for any assault. SEAL teams also went to work prepping allied planes for sortie missions to destroy Angel craft.

A snag was hit near the Golden Gate Bridge. It was supposed to be a search and destroy mission that would Cripple the Angel forces for good by taking out their base of operations. Loyalists had prepped the harbor for detonation and had sent pathfinders to guide them in. The sky was littered with AA fire as numerous angels fell from the heavens. The USS Alaska, Abe Lincoln and Albany fired hopelessly at the approaching horde before being sunk via a salvo of missiles from Loyalist aircraft. Completely blindsided by the betrayal, the Army was hemmed in from all sides. The 11th armored was destroyed, the 82nd and 101st were MIA and they were out of ammo. The Angels did not accept surrender. Blood flowed into the river in great quantities. A second offensive was launched in May. The plan, under the codename Dragon Fourfold:

To stop a planned spearhead by Angel scouts to destroy the Harbor.

To capture, kill or control any Intel related to further attacks

To prevent incursions from Loyalist states in the US and abroad via M.A.D

Dropping in under the cover of night, Delta force, GIGN and SAS led a bloodless raid that led to the capture of the

largest Angel intel network yet seen. Targets were set for Tokyo, London and Washington DC. All three sites were immediately reinforced in preparation for an invasion. The

Angels made landfall three days later. A bloody battle ensued as American, British and other branches both gained and lost men, ground and hope. Tanks turned into iron coffins, Soldiers stumbled around blinded and bleeding while planes and gliders filled with soldiers, got hit and burnt to the ground. For all their firepower, the Military managed to stop only two angels, the rest took over Tokyo and forced the president underground. Loyalists held banquet in the former office of the U.S, Bristish and Japanese presidents. Only London lay unopposed and only then due to The lyoko warriors not being in the real world. Earth, for all intents and purposes, belonged to the Angels.

"I'm nearly...there" said Aelita. The decoded transmission went thusly:

"They're gaining on us! keep firing! This is commander Jackson of the 52nd armored, we are under threat by-

This is lain, we need someone to pilot our last ship, transferring in 3..2..1. LOOK OUT!"

A portal opened inside the waytower at the exact moment a nuke hit Lain's position.

At the same time, The Lyoko Warriors were transferred to the the world of SEL. Yumi immediately began screaming as something dragged her into the shadows.

"YUMI!" yelled Ulrich. He tried to Super Sprint but couldn't. Yumi let out a screech like a trapped rat and fell limp as a tidal wave of her blood flew out of the alleyway's and

into a waiting canister. She was drawn back and the group stood in shock. Her entire body was pierced with all sorts of metal wires and tubes running into the ground. On her

head was a VR headset, it was leaking blood from where her eyes would be. She let out a pained whimper as a light shone from her eye sockets and she ascended to the sky.

An EVA appeared and Yumi was smashed inside. The headset was ripped off of her face and her screaming form was impaled with more wires.

"Pilot Transfer complete, Hello Yumi Ishiyama, welcome to the E.V.A Test Suit Model 31A, Prototype 33"

Another nuke smashed into the area, sending dust everywhere. Yumi was screaming and crying as the needles dug deeper. Gunfire was heard over the radio.

"Jeremy...help" Yumi weakly cried out, her bones beginning to poke out.

Jeremy was stunned, then felt Aelita being lifted. His eyes snapped open and he yelled as she was put through the same ordeal.

The two were sent to combat the Angel. There was nothing anyone could do. Lain appeared behind them. She was smiling. Aelita could be heard screaming as she was put

through the same hell that Yumi just went through. Her mind was instantly linked with the EVA and her brain promptly splashed all over the walls from the information

overload. A part of her was saved to control the E.V.A but the rest of her was gone for good...or so it seemed.

"The system is a little glitchy. We're still working out the bugs. The Angel Threat is a class 37B infestation. We've authorized Orbital tracking and direct fire. You might want to hold onto something. We'll re-acquire your friends later. They aren't dead in a literal sense. See those jars? Those hold the souls of the dead. We'll fix them up, though it might take some time"

"Wha-"

Ulrich was nearly blinded. The blast turned the angel into dust and destroyed seven more. Yumi let out a bloodcurdling screech of sheer horror and went limp

"Relax, health is being drawn from blood. User vitals critical, EVA health Critical, Commencing directive 38"

Yumi was injected with a black sludge. The Angel was ripped in half almost at once as the now crazed Yumi smashed her way through enemy lines. The attack was over in thirty seconds. D.C reported a threat level of 1, Tokyo 6 and Britain a 0. Yumi immediately went after the other threats, proceeding to reduce the leader to a bloody paste before pulling him out of his EVA and stabbing him to death with Razor wire and glass shards. There was no blood left inside Yumi, just this black hellfire. She was, for all intents and purposes, dead. She stepped out of the machine as the black ooze was drained from her. She fell to her knees then keeled over. She never woke up.

Lain opened the jars and their souls went back into their bodies. Aelita and Yumi immediately beat the tar out of Lain before searching for a way out. A portal opened and they stepped through. They were back in Kadic...3000 years into the future.
