Ten thousand year war

Chapter 2: Yumi

The summer air ran across Yumi's cheeks as Kadic came into view. It was another beautiful day for School and as she went into her dorm, Yumi glanced around the room. It was as could be expected, clean and proper. She didn't have to deal with Kiwi. Granted this was not her dorm alone but for the time, she felt safe.

"Ms Ishiyama!"

Yumi stood up and turned. Jim was staring at her, beet red in the face. His muscles twinged and furrowed in an angry grimace.

"Why aren't you in class? This is not your dorm, you are a Day student! Now get to class!"

Yumi left the dorm and went to her assigned class: History.

She never much liked the class. The students were rude and the teacher was, for all his bluster, uninformed about current events. Then it hit her: They had gotten a sub just the other day. No wonder he was so bad. She turned in her work, the assignment being on the Burning of The Alexandria Library and left for lunch.

Something was off however, not a bird could be seen, nor was there traffic.

"Hi Yumi!"

She turned and there stood Sissi

"What do you want?"

No response. Yumi asked again but there was no response, just a blank stare.

"ok, see you I guess?"

She turned to enter the lunch room and before she could make it to the door, she saw blackness.

Waking up, she found bloody bodies.

"oh, my head! Where am I?" she wondered in alarm. The Basement was covered in dead bodies. She reached for a light and recoiled in fear, trying her best not to scream.

In front of her eyes was the dead body of Sissi, ripped open like a can of meat. Her eyes were rolled back into her skull and her trachea was slashed open. Yumi could only silently sob as another voice called out to her.

"Hi Yumi, what's wrong?"

Yumi screamed as the lights went out.
