Finished

Ian landed beside Wilhelm, glancing at him only just long enough to check his condition. His right leg had been wounded at the knee, rendering it useless. Before them, Heinkel, who was supposed to be in custody after holding Felt hostage to keep Reinhard in place to protect him, was seated before Theresia, his sword having been knocked from his hands apparently, probably with the first stroke of Theresia's blade. And there, standing ready to take Theresia down, was Reinhard. His Dragon Sword Reid's scabbard was in his left hand, the sword itself in his right. Its pearled blade was magnificently exposed, catching the light beautifully and terrifyingly in equal measure.

"I guess I'm not necessary anymore," Ian said, sheathing his White Whale sword and watching the former Sword Saint tried and failed to strike the current generation.

"Stop, Reinhard!" Wilhelm shouted desperately. "Look at me! Theresia is in the middle, of fighting with me! You are not permitted to cut into a battle, between two swordsmen!"

Reinhard cast a single glance at Wilhelm before responding. "With that leg, you cannot continue to battle."

"What do you mean if my leg can't move!" Wilhelm pleaded. "For grasping the sword, these hands are still alive! If my hands die then my mouth! If my mouth will be ineffective then my soul! As long as I've not lost my life, I have not been defeated!"

"If you've not lost life...then, what do you make of her, who is in front of your eyes?" Reinhard asked. "A mere dead body without any self-awareness moving in accordance with the wishes of the caster. I do not believe there is any meaning in fiddling around with the deceased, and involving the styles of a swordsman."

"Styles of a swordsman you say," Wilhelm rasped, his throat choking on his emotions.

"Reinhard is right," Ian said. "I'm sorry, Wilhelm, but that's not Theresia. Not really. It's a puppet with no soul. Any one-sided emotion during your duel only serves to dull your blade."

Then, the two saints began to clash in earnest. Theresia's form was as flawless as before, but her opponent now was Reinhard. As such, she couldn't win. Even without striking back, Reinhard was more than capable of fending her off.

"Don't kill her!" Wilhelm suddenly cried out desperately. "She is my Theresia!"

Reinhard was silent for a moment before responding. "Grandmother has already been killed by me fifteen years ago. This one is only a fake."

Reinhard swung his sword around lightly, the beautiful white blade swinging around into its sheath, and with a faint metallic report seated itself there. Theresia staggered backward a step, her eyes growing light for the first time since Ian had seen her. It seemed her soul had been present after all. Just restrained.

She turned, eyes falling to Wilhelm. "Such a pathetic face."

"Theresia," Wilhelm breathed. "I am..." he trailed off, overcome with emotions.

"Hey, Wilhelm," Theresia called, then also fell silent.

A few seconds passed as they stared at one another before either spoke.

"There is something I must...tell you," Wilhelm forced out. "I-I am a poor speaker...so I can't convey my thoughts well. I'm having a hard time even with you...That's why even in these twenty years, never even once did I..."

Theresia waited in silence.

"These twenty years, may have made me uneasy," Wilhelm continued, "but, I am..."

"A stupid person," Theresia spoke up as he again fell silent. "Did you really never notice?" She knelt, reaching out and wiping his tears away. "You had always been saying it. Your voice, your eyes, your attitude, your actions, had always."

Wilhelm swallowed. "I am with you..."

"You are with me..." Theresia prompted, almost comically.

"...in love," Wilhelm finished, Theresia's face all but shining as she smiled.

Then, she fell, landing in Wilhelm's arms only to crumble into ash. Wilhelm stared heartbrokenly at her remains while Ian walked to where she'd dropped her sword, picking it up. It had no pommel, a white, cloth-wrapped grip, a semi-coin guard with the rounded side toward the long, thin, white blade, and a spherical red jewel in the center of the guard, visible from both sides.

"Are you satisfied now?" Heinkel raised his voice at Reinhard.

"What do you mean satisfied?" Reinhard sighed?

"Don't play dumb, it's just as how you saw it!" Heinkel seethed. "Are you satisfied? You must be satisfied now! Both in name and in reality, the position of Sword Saint is all yours now, congratulations! The rumors of you robbing it away by killing the previous generation would be unquestionably true now, too.! uh, are you satisfied? Hey!"

"I do not understand what you are trying to say," Reinhard said.

"Don't make a face as if you're putting on airs, you shitty brat!" Heinkel spat, only to fall silent as Ian's whip sword smacked across the side of his face with the flat of its blade, the end covered by its sheath to prevent lasting harm.

"That's enough out of you," Ian said as his whip sword retracted and he reattached the sheath to his belt. "He didn't murder anyone." He turned to Wilhelm, from whom he could sense anger swelling rapidly. "He set her free from the control of her puppeteer. He allowed her to be able to say goodbye to you properly." He knelt, holding the sword out to Wilhelm. "Take it. With this, you can carry Theresia with you. Not that she was ever anywhere else."

Wilhelm looked up at him, confusion filling his wavering eyes.

"She may have died, but she never stopped loving you," Ian said. "She was watching over you all this time. She was there in moments when you faced a difficult opponent. When you fought beyond your own capabilities and defeated an opponent that by rights should have killed you, like the White Whale. She has never left your side. And now, carrying her weapon as your own, she will be able to lend you her strength again. Reinhard didn't kill Theresia, he freed her from the control that was forcing her to turn her blade on her beloved family. Because he broke that control, you were able to finally say goodbye to each other, and she was able to rest. You intended to do the same for her, but hesitated due to your own emotions over harming her. So, he did the deed in you place."

Wilhelm stared at him for a moment before taking the sword from Ian. Then, he turned slightly to face Reinhard and bowed. "Thank you, Reinhard. Thank you for freeing Theresia. Thank you for giving me the chance to say to her what I thought I never could."

Reinhard hesitated before bowing in return. "Of course, honored grandfather." While Wilhelm wasn't looking, Reinhard nodded his thanks to Ian, who returned it.

"Reinhard, please go and check on City Hall," Ian said. "I found Felt when I was helping with a battle a few minutes ago. She's safe. But I'm a little worried about those who were at City Hall, since Lust attacked it while we were gone."

Reinhard nodded and turned, leaping out of sight in a single bound. Ian turned, helping Wilhelm to his feet and supporting his weight as they slowly made their way toward where Ian had left Beatrice and the others. If she wasn't there, he'd carry him to Felix at City Hall. He glanced in the direction of the battle he'd sent Rem and Ram to. He knew they'd be fine together, especially with Ram having her horn, but he still worried.

Ian stared at the gaping pit that used to be City Hall. Felix, Beatrice, and Rem were all treating Wilhelm's wounds, and everyone else was at the new rally point, which was the nearest evacuation shelter. However, a few were not. Among them were Anastasia, who had been waiting there with Felix and Beatrice after Reinhard warned them that Wilhelm was wounded, Reinhard himself, who'd be taking Felix to the evacuation shelters once Wilhelm was healed, and Elena and Ram. Anastasia, or rather her artificial spirit scarf, who had possessed her to protect her, had told Ian that Al fought Capella, and the battle made the City Hall collapse. They had assumed she escaped, and Ian was able to verify it, thanks to her saving Lye. He had then called her out on not being Anastasia, and Echidna had explained about the possession.

"How are you feeling?" Ian asked Elena as he knelt beside her, Ram currently sitting with her in case she needed anything.

"Apparently I'm going to be weak and sick like this for another week after we get back," Elena groaned, then grinned. "Nurse Frederica will have to take care of me."

"If you have even the slimmest chance of getting her to kiss you after she's seen you puking all over yourself, I'll be amazed," Ian chuckled.

"Challenge accepted," Elena smirked, then paled and groaned, closing her eyes. "For the record, I fucking hate you right now."

"That's fine," Ian smirked. "You'll forgive me in a week."

Elena sighed, shaking her head slowly, and Ian walked over to Wilhelm as Rem finished treating his forehead, Felix finished with his knee, and Beatrice finished with his side.

"Feeling better?" Ian asked.

"Much," Wilhelm nodded. "I just need to rest, now."

Ian nodded as Reinhard picked up Felix, bridal-style. "Hopefully you won't need to heal anyone."

"Agreed," Felix nodded. "But it's a bit too late to hope for that, nyow."

Ian nodded and Reinhard jumped, disappearing from sight almost instantly. Ian sighed, helping Wilhelm stand, and everyone headed for the shelter. Almost as soon as they arrived, Subaru ran over to help with Wilhelm, verifying that he was healed before praising Beatrice for working so hard, ignoring her argument that Felix and Rem had helped. Once Ian had gotten Wilhelm seated, he passed him a cleaning cloth for Theresia's sword, at Wilhelm's request, then sat with Rem and Ram, having Ram dig a small hole with her wind magic before pouring whatever toxin remained in his scabbards out, then set the ends on a rock with the open ends over the hole so they'd drain. Once that was done, he began to very carefully clean the toxin off of his blades, along with the whip sword's wires. He heard Mimi's energetic voice off to the side, talking to Garfiel, only for her to suddenly shriek in pain and start yelling about bleeding. He laughed as Garfiel snapped at her to calm down so he wouldn't have to keep treating her wound again, claiming it was the third time already.

"And yet, he won't let anyone else take care of her," Ian smiled.

Rem and Ram both nodded, Rem smiling.

"They'll probably be a couple by the time we leave Priestella," Rem smiled.

"He's still too young and naïve," Ram criticized. "As with everything, he'd make a mess of it."

Ian chuckled. "Maybe, but it'd still be good for him."

Ram was silent for a moment before nodding. "I agree."

Ian nodded, finishing cleaning his blades before sheathing them and reattaching them to his belt. He'd need to clean them again once he'd properly cleaned the toxin out of his scabbards, but for now, at the very least the blood was off of them. And just as he finished, Wolf flew up in front of him.

"We need to talk," Wolf said. "Regulus...stirred up some old memories. nothing vital now, but someone you should be very careful about. Someone you need to escape from if you ever meet them."

"Who?" Ian asked.

"Pandora," Wolf said. "She looks like a young girl with a white dress and platinum hair. But she's a monster. Aria still doesn't remember being in the Elior Forest when it fell, but that's probably because of Pandora. She controlled us and a group of others to force us to lead Emilia to something. I can't remember exactly what, just a place we wanted to get her away from. We thought we were, until we arrived." He bobbed back and forth agitatedly. "There's something about her that you need to know, but...I can't remember. About her power."

Ian considered for a moment. "Emilia said her first trial was the fall of the Elior Forest. In the trial, she would have seen whatever happened once she was led to Pandora."

"Right," Wolf agreed. "I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't tell her about me and Aria being there, or mention this to Aria at all."

"I won't," Ian promised. "Where is Aria, anyway?"

"With Elena," Wolf said. "Apparently she took a liking to her."

Ian nodded, smiling. "Alright. I'll ask Emilia about her after everything's calmed down a bit. Probably on the ride home."

"I've heard the name once before," Ram said. "Though it was only a mention."

Ian nodded just as it occurred to him that he hadn't though to check that Roy hadn't managed to use his Authority of Gluttony on Julius or Ricardo. "How did the fight against Roy Alphard go? It never occurred to me to ask, since I know he can't beat you two."

"Roy Alphard, who identified as the Bizarre Eating aspect of Gluttony, was possessed by someone named Louis, who identified as Satiation," Ram said. "She used something called Solar Eclipse to transform into someone else and escaped."

Ian nodded. "Any casualties from our side? Anyone you didn't recognize? We sent two after him."

Rem and Ram considered for a moment.

"There was one person," Rem said. "He was dressed like a Knight of Lugunica, and had the same type of sword as they all wield, though his was broken, but I didn't recognize him."

"Neither did Ram," Ram agreed. "Or Ricardo, though Ricardo was certain he couldn't have been fighting Gluttony alone, and clearly the other person had. He bore some non-life-threatening wounds, and as Rem mentioned, his sword was utterly shattered in battle. However, my beautiful sister treated his wounds, despite him being completely unknown."

"Otherwise, the only casualty was that Ricardo lost his right arm," Rem said. "He didn't seem overly concerned about it, though."

Ian nodded. "Well, Subaru will probably find Julius, he has that kind of luck."

"Is that the Knight imposter?" Ram asked.

"Not an imposter," Ian said. "He really is a knight, though without anyone remembering, that's probably null and void, now. Anyway, we'll probably all be meeting soon."

They both nodded and stood, leaving the shelter toward one not used during the attack on the city, making it empty of anyone not involved with the conference they were about to have. Within a few minutes, everyone except Al and Priscilla had arrived. Ian waited outside for Subaru, Emilia, and Beatrice, sighing in relief as they arrived with Julius, as he expected.

"Julius," Ian greeted, Julius's eyes widening. "It's good to see you're intact, at least."

Julius hesitated before nodding. "It's relieving to find someone else who remembers me, though equally confusing."

"It'll be a short list," Ian said. "I expect we'll be the only two who do."

"Not Al?" Subaru asked.

"I doubt it, but it's worth a shot," Ian said. "I doubt it has anything to do with our home."

"Al is also from your home nation?" Julius asked.

"Yeah," Ian said. "Though he left years before we did."

Julius nodded and they all headed inside for the conference.

"First of all, let me thank you all for your hard work," Echidna, posing as Anastasia, said. "Luckily, the amount of damage which the Witch Cult's grand offensive caused was extremely low. Including both the people who are here and those who aren't, that's what I believe. It was a battle like no other."

"I'd definitely argue against that," Ian said. "Wrath's free time before the battle began caused dozens of people injuries, God only knows how many Roy Alphard and Lye Batenkaitos ate together, or straight up killed, Lust turned dozens of people into flies and one into a dragon, and all of them are still stuck like that, City Hall turned into a hole in the ground, and Greed's battle against Subaru, Reinhard, and Emilia resulted in nearly a quarter of the city being decimated. That's not a small list by any stretch of the imagination."

Echidna shrugged and several of those assembled, actually, it was almost all, glared at her.

"The conference is important," Felix spoke up, "but we should start by deciding what to do with the Sin Archbishop. One of the top brass of the Witch Cult was captured alive, right? There are many things we need to ask. We should hurry that up."

"It's a waste of time," Ian said. "Of those who attacked this city, none of them would give two shits about the rest, or have any information about them. Unless we had managed to capture a Gluttony and asked him about the other two. But where it's Wrath we captured, the only Sin Archbishop she'd have information about is Sloth, who's already been dealt with. She won't have anything meaningful about the other Sin Archbishops or the Cult as a whole, either. All you'd learn is that everything they do is in accordance with orders that appear in their Gospels. Who sends the orders, or what that mastermind's goal is, is a complete unknown, but from what Subaru said from his own chat with Wrath, only Sloth cared about freeing the Witch of Envy. The only other reason to worry about that would be if the mastermind wants to, but that's a different subject that, again, Wrath wouldn't know."

The others all nodded, including Felix, accepting his input.

"But even though she's useless to us, we should still keep her alive," Ian said.

"What?" Felix asked. "Why?"

"She may be useful later," Ian said. "For example, if we can trick Gluttony into pissing her off, that'd be a perfect distraction when she tried to kill him."

"Given their cooperation here, I doubt Gluttony would be able to anger her that much," Crusch said.

"You misunderstand something," Ian said. "They didn't cooperate here. Greed and Wrath fighting before the assault started aside, none of them were actually coordinated. They were simply following orders specific to themselves. If there was any coordination, it was on the part of whoever sends the orders."

"And we have no idea who that is?" Felix asked.

"I might have a theory, but at this point it's only a name, and I don't want to spread false information," Ian said. "I'll look into it, and if I'm right, or I find a different answer, I'll pass the information along accordingly."

The others all nodded, and all eyes turned back to Echidna.

Echidna nodded. "If she's being kept alive, Wrath should be escorted to wherever she'll be held by Reinhard. He's the most suitable to detain her, and put a stop to any schemes she might try along the way."

"Agreed," Reinhard nodded.

"That said," Echidna continued, "will Felt be joining you, or will Master and Servant part ways?"

"If Reinhard's going, I'm going too," Felt said. "In this case, it can't be helped."

Reinhard's eyes widened in astonishment.

"Don't get the wrong idea," Felt said. "The fact that I can't stand you ain't changed. It ain't changed, but there's times where I ain't gonna do that."

Reinhardt frowned. "There are times where you aren't going to do that?"

Felt sighed. "I don't know. Try ask that to your own chest. My chest ain't soft enough to reply back to you."

"Camberly, look after Larkins and Gaston," Reinhard instructed Felt's only other present retainer, the other two members of her trio currently recovering from their injuries. "Once they can move about, they may first return back to the mansion. Bring them only in contact with Old Man Rom."

"Y-yessir, I understand," Camberly nodded, relief plain on his face.

"Then, may we move to the next issue?" Kiritaka spoke up. "Ladies and Gentlemen, first of all, regarding the battle to protect this city...I'd like to thank you all on behalf of all of its citizens. If it wasn't for all of you, the city of Pristella would likely have fallen into the evil clutches of the Witch Cult. I offer my deepest gratitude for that."

He hung his head low and bowed, having taken responsibility for speaking of the general consensus of the city. Liliana, who was by his side, with a look of panic on her face, also bowed her head like Kiritaka had.

Subaru shook his head. "We were already in the city, and involved, we didn't have the option to just watch on as a spectator, so you don't have to thank us to this grandiose extent. Dontcha think?"

Emilia nodded in agreement. "Yeah. Besides, maybe the Witch Cult taking over the city was just a bonus for them judging by their aims."

"Judging by their demands, there's a good chance trying to take over the city at the same time made it easier for them to be countered without having to fight them all at once and with minimal casualties," Ian half-lied. "If they'd been serious about getting what they were demanding, they could have gone shelter to shelter looking for it."

A few of the others nodded, though several caught Ian's lie at the beginning about hinting that taking the city might not have been according to their orders.

"Wait up," Felt spoke up. "It bothers me that you say that freely as if it were the consensus. Are you really saying that if we hadn't been here, they would've slammed the door shut on those Witch Cult guys? I reckon we needa talk more clearly about that."

"'Tis vexing, but I'm in agreement with that beggar girl," Priscilla said. "Don't drag us into all of you commoner's self-convenient diffidence. Don't be so conceited, you half-witch and you philistines."

Felt and Priscilla looked at each other after they finished speaking, and immediately looked away, their faces looking disgusted.

"Please settle down," Kiritaka urged. "I'm gladdened by Miss Emilia's words, but as Miss Felt and Miss Priscilla said, the city's defense was all of your merit. This I vow as a representative of the city." He hesitated. "In the meantime, I'd like you to lend your strength just a little while longer."

"By strength..." Subaru hesitated. "You mean the next issue you mentioned earlier?"

"Indeed," Kiritaka nodded. "It's about the inhabitants who were transformed by that wicked power."

Everyone went silent at hearing Kiritaka's sombre tone. The staff of the City Hall who'd been Capella's first victims had been transformed into inhuman forms.

One had been transformed into a black dragon, and the other dozen or so had been transformed into huge flies. They still couldn't do anything due to the effect of Capella's Authority, which Subaru had labeled "Variation and Change" while Ian favored Matter Manipulation.

For now, someone should have gathered them in one place and concealed their existence, for the sake of keeping them safe and panic to a minimum.

"The culprit, Lust, has fled," Kiritaka said. "No, even if we could catch Lust in the first place, it's doubtful whether or not they'd have any intention to turn them back to normal."

"I could persuade her, but there's no reasonable expectation that we could even find her now," Ian said.

Subaru nodded. "That's for sure. But we can't just leave them, right? Is there anything at all which we could do without Lust? Isn't it even impossible for Felix?"

Felix shook his head and bit his lip. "Even I simply can't cure that. No, it isn't about whether I can cure them or not. It isn't an injury or disease, they were just transformed into those kind of creatures. Healing magic can only help you get back to being right as rain if you're injured or sick. That's why healing magic is futile against those transformations."

Kiritaka's gaze dropped. "To be frank, I can't tell if the people who were turned into flies have awareness. I can't make the distinction, and a fly the size of a person can't even fly to begin with. They haven't learned how to move their wings properly. They're in an incomplete state. But, if they have awareness..."

"If they clearly understand their circumstances, they'd end up going crazy I guess," Subaru finished.

"Those who were transformed into vile insects would want to die, I'd imagine," Priscilla said. "If there is no chance to turn them back, then would it not be merciful to bestow that?"

"Princess," Al spoke up hesitantly, "that's….."

"Be silent, Al!" Priscilla snapped. "There's no meaning in mere wishful lip service. Mineself has no mercy to dish out to slothful pigs, but killing those who revile fate by being trifled to absurdity with is also a kindness. In short, that's what it means."

With her harsh view, Priscilla dismissed Al, who had instinctively voiced his opinion. However, the reason why Al didn't make any more objections, was because Priscilla's opinion was also correct in some sense. Of course, he didn't think they should die, most likely, but, they had been transformed into flies and there was no known way to get them back to normal; it was perfectly natural that they would want to die.

"It's impossible to negotiate with the culprit, Lust," Subaru said. "Healing magic doesn't fix them. What do we do?"

"I'd wanted to ask everyone about that," Kiritaka said. "It doesn't matter even if it's a shot in the dark. Does no one have any idea on how to cure them?"

Everyone was silent.

"I understand," Kiritaka nodded, the last glimmer of hope for the people who'd been changed fading. "I profusely apologise for the inconvenience. Dealing with them is an issue for the City, we shall take the responsibility afterwards."

Subaru blinked in surprise. "Take the responsibility? What will you all do?"

"We'll consider the possibilities after this," Kiritaka said, voice businesslike but hollow. "We have to check the will of those involved, and see each of their conclusions. No matter what the final opinions are, we shall see it through until the very end."

"You'll kill them," Ian interpreted. "Don't. While we can't do it now, we will almost certainly run into Capella in the future. When we do, I'll be more than capable of...persuading her to fix them. We just need time to find her."

"In the mean time, wouldn't you be able to leave it to me?" Emilia spoke up.

"Miss Emilia?" Kiritaka asked.

"A way to return them all back to normal right now..." Emilia shook her head. "Sorry, that I don't know. But, I want you to not make any hasty conclusions. As Ian said, we just need more time."

"I understand your feelings, Miss Emilia," Kiritaka sighed. "But, it's about whether they have that time in them. The big issue is for how long their spirits can maintain their equilibrium in their transformed bodies."

Emilia nodded. "Yeah, I know. That's why I will make time to protect their minds. It may be a crude method, but it'll surely be able to do the job. A way of putting them to sleep."

Subaru's eyes widened. "I see...Cold Sleep."

Everyone directed a blank stair, and a few tilted heads at Subaru.

Subaru nodded once. "In other words, you mean the same way as with the brides in the church, right? With Mili's magic, we'll put the transformed people into a state of suspended animation. It may end up just postponing the inevitable, but it's sufficient to put off making a conclusion. In the meanwhile, we should find a solution."

"Sooo, Cryo Stasis," Ian summarized. "Freeze the person so that their awareness effectively stops and they don't notice the passage of time."

Subaru nodded.

Kiritaka frowned. "Freezing them, and keeping them sleeping...Is that possible? But won't they end up freezing to death in their sleep?"

Emilia shook her head. "They'll be fine. It was for a short while, but I used this on Greed's brides to negate his Authority, so I understand the effects on one's health, and besides, I also slept for around one hundred years by myself."

Kiritaka gaped at her. "You yourself slept..." He was silent for a long moment as he considered. "If that's possible, by all means I would like to ask that of you, but..."

"Let me do it," Emilia said. "You won't regret it, for sure."

"What are you worried about, Mr. Kiritaka?" Liliana asked. "Why not? Let her try! After all that Miss Emilia said, it's natural that there's a chance of success!"

"Of course, I want to believe that too, very much so, Liliana," Kiritaka said. "However, this is something that involves many lives. We can't come to a conclusion so easily."

"There's no need to worry!" Liliana said. "Miss Emilia will not fail. Because, BeeeeeecAAAAuuuSEEE!" She began to sing, strumming her instrument. "The great heroes of the future can all surmount such tribulations without difficulty! Those heroic tales where they surmount any wall standing in their way, no matter how tall or thick it is! Blood boiling and flesh raising, a tale which fascinates everyone is created like so!"

"At the least, let's ask their families," Subaru spoke up. "If the staff of the City Hall are the victims, then their family should be in the same city, right? We should try and hear from them whether they leave open that possibility."

Kiritaka considered. "In regards to that question, there shouldn't be anyone who seemed to have abandoned their family."

Subaru nodded. "Then we can talk later about whether we will leave this to Emilia or not. And, regarding whether they will believe Emilia or not...well, I'd like to hear about that specifically from the consensus of the city."

Kiritaka directed his gaze towards Emilia, showing signs of hesitation.

Emilia nodded without hesitation. "Leave it to me. I will do it without fail."

Everyone seemed to have a different reaction along the entire spectrum of possible emotions, sometimes multiple places. Finally, Kiritaka sighed.

"I...understand. For sure, I reckon we should endeavour to make our wishes come true rather than jumping to hasty conclusions. Since otherwise the battle to protect Pristella too had seemed reckless at first."

"Yeah," Emilia nodded, smiling gratefully. "I'm reaaally thankful."

Kiritaka smiled tiredly. "It's me who should be thanking you."

"So, the last issue," Julius finally spoke up. "There have been many reports of unconscious people of unknown identity that were found one after the other in various parts of the city. I'd like for us to discuss this matter."

They all nodded, settling in to discuss how to handle everyone in Julius's situation.
