Chapter 06: Class President and a Surprise Party(Almost)
The day after the battle simulation, Izuku was approaching the U.A gate, when he saw a crowd in front of it, they were reporters, and they approached anyone who appeared there.
'And this now...It won't be possible to get through this way.' Izuku thought, slowly approaching the horde, and when they saw him, his eyes seemed to glow red.
Tragically, Izuku was approached by them.
"You! Is All Might a good teacher?" ; "What subject does he teach?" ; "Is it true that he wears dentures? (What?!)"
As they bombarded him with questions, one stranger than the other, Spider-Sense was subtly triggered, and Izuku couldn't identify where this warning was coming from, there was something wrong with this group of vulture reporters, time to get out.
"I-I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I'm from the Business Course, I don't have classes with All Might." Izuku said, wanting to get rid of them as quickly as possible.
After hearing the greenish boy, the reporters left him as if he were a piece of trash, much to the boy's disbelief.
'Man, doesn't the business class have any morals?' He questioned himself internally, passing through the gate, that's when he met Aizawa, who just nodded and didn't say anything, he had clearly seen his feat.
Izuku continued into the building, huffing in amusement, but in the background he could hear Tenya's voice, he could only hear about the Blonde Goliath's work ethic.
In the classroom, the chat with colleagues was none other than the interviews.
"Ow, I was so nervous, I never thought an interview would be like this." Toru said, his voice a little shaky.
"At least they couldn't see your face, that's a plus, unlike me, who must have looked stupid on camera." Mashirao gave his statement, clearly frustrated.
"I found it to be a tremendous lack of respect for me, they simply turned their backs on me while I spoke. I hope this doesn't happen again in the future, as we will have to live with them routinely when we graduate." Tenya said eloquently, waving his arms like a traffic cop, making everyone in the class sweat comically, they already imagined why they left him alone, a clear example was just given.
"And you, Midoriya-Kun, what did you tell them?" Ochako asked the greenish boy, the others turned their attention to him, wanting to hear the answer.
Izuku looked like a deer caught in the headlights, since when was he so interesting?
"I...I didn't say anything, I just said I was from the business course and they left me alone." The boy replied, noticing the disbelieving expressions of his colleagues, only some of whom were laughing.
"That…That was very clever." Momo said uncertainly, to the even more amusement of her classmates, resulting in Izuku laughing nervously and sweating.
"And you Melissa, were you approached by them?" Izuku asked his American friend, who thought a little before answering.
"Well, when I arrived they weren't here." The girl replied, receiving a surprised look from the others.
"You must have arrived very early then." Said Fumikage, in addition to Dark Shadow, who came out and waved along.
"My uncle gave me a ride, he had to take care of some things this morning." The blonde said, praying for the focus to leave her.
"Alright then." Izuku said, putting an end to that discussion.
It was at that moment that the door to the room opened, and Aizawa passed through it, more angrier and sleepier than ever.
"Sit down!" He ordered, and as no one was an idiot, they tried to obey the man.
"I know you interacted with the vultures out there, but don't get carried away by the little attention you received. When you graduate, you'll want to get rid of them as quickly as possible, like me." Shota said, almost in a nostalgic tone, resulting in a comical drop of sweat running down the back of everyone's neck.
"First of all, some comments about your performance in yesterday's simulation." He said, and everyone tensed.
"Kirishima, you did well, be more meticulous next time, don't attack like a raging bull, that will only get you in trouble, and of course, it's good to improve your perception, it can help you not to be caught off guard so easily." The man said to Eijirou, who nodded stiffly.
"Sero, the same as Kirishima, good senses are important, even more so against an unknown enemy. You came up with a good plan to hide the bomb, but you only have one form of attack, a very obvious one at that, so you were easily taken down." Aizawa spoke to the tape launcher, who nodded, remembering yesterday's embarrassment.
"Shield, in short, you had a good performance, good aptitude for working together and managed to hold the ends, your biggest mistake was using that attack inside the building. I understand your side, you saw an opportunity to attack and did so, but we must always consider all possibilities." The man said to the blonde girl, who nodded a little embarrassed, fiddling with her glasses.
"Midoriya, too, a good job overall, I just want to point out something, be more focused next time, you could have ended the fight with Sero much earlier, but you decided to test his patience instead of taking him down, humor can be a good tactic, but it alone won't do much." Aizawa said, looking seriously at the greenish student, who nodded in agreement.
And so the series of feedback from the teacher to his students continued, for the most part, the class did well.
"Now that we are done with this, a warning, this first class period, you will not have class." After he said that, the students looked at him as if he had grown another head, had the executioner released them from a class?
"But! You will do something extremely important for the rest of your days on this course." He said, creating a terrible suspense, which the man was loving, seeing the maniacal smile on his face.
"You will choose the Class President." He finished, smiling broadly, observing the relieved reactions of his beloved students.
"Ahh, something normal, less bad." ; "Choose me, choose me!" ; "You better choose me, you extras!" ; "I will make this class twinkle!"
"WAIT!" Tenya shouted and everyone fell silent to listen.
"The position of President should not be treated with such levity, whoever is chosen must be a guide, a model for all their colleagues, which is why we must hold an election to choose the best candidate." Said the bossy young man, with his arm fully extended upwards, only an idiot wouldn't realize he wanted the position.
"But Iida-Chan, we don't know each other well enough to vote for each other clearly, we'll probably vote for ourselves. Ribbit" Tsuyu said, bringing an interesting point to the discussion, as some agreed with her thoughts.
"Precisely, Asui-San." The boy replied, moving his arms again.
"Tsuyu"
"If someone receives more than one vote of their own, clearly they are seen as the most capable by others." Tenya concluded.
"Can we do this, Sensei?" The boy asked the man already inside the sleeping bag.
"Do whatever you want, but have a President until the end of class, and wake me up when you decide." He said, turning to the other side, everyone sweated comically again, this guy was a figure.
After choosing to vote, the students began the voting process in the classroom, voting confidentially and consciously, even if it was for themselves.
Izuku was weighing his two options.
'I'm between Iida-Kun and Yaoyorozu-San, they both seem to want to be President, Iida-Kun can be very strict but he has his heart in the right place, and Yaoyorozu-San is very intelligent, seeing yesterday's analysis…Man…' Izuku thought furiously about who to vote for, but in the end he made up his mind.
When the votes were counted, Izuku's expression gradually went from calm to terrified.
Midoriya: 4; Yaoyorozu: 2; Iida: 1.
Izuku looked at his four votes stupefied, who would vote for him?!
Tenya looked at his vote with almost reverence. 'Someone believed in me.'
"WHAT?! WHO VOTED FOR DEKU?!" Katsuki nearly blew up his desk with his inquiry.
"Well, it's better than voting for you." Hanta said with a slutty smile, making the blonde growl furiously.
"REPEAT THAT, EXTRA!" The blonde shouted at the other boy, who didn't care.
"I voted for Mido-Bro! He was very manly in the fight yesterday!" The manly redhead announced his support for the greenish boy, much to his surprise.
"Silence! Midoriya and Yaoyorozu, come here." Shota ordered, being woken up by screams in the room, and logically everyone obeyed.
'How is this possible?! Why did they vote for me?!' It was with these thoughts that Izuku found himself at the front of the class, with Momo at his side as the vice. He noticed that everyone was looking at him, probably waiting for the speech after the electoral victory.
"W-Well, I didn't expect to be elected the President, b-but I will do my best at work, I count on your support." Izuku said, bowing to the class.
That class ended with applause for the newest President of Class 1-A.
Lunch time had arrived, and as always, the greenish one was devouring a bowl of Katsudon, his favorite dish, Tenya, Ochako, Melissa and some others from the class were there too.
"I must congratulate you again, Midoriya-Kun, being the class president at U.A is a great honor." Tenya said, for the third time that day.
A comical drop ran down the back of Izuku's neck, the robot boy really wanted the position.
"Thank you, again...I-I hope I'm fit for work, since I've never been a president before, I wanted to know who voted for me, besides Kirishima-Kun, of course..." The greenish replied, attracting Ochako's attention, who smiled at him.
"I voted for you! After what you did in the battle simulation, I knew you would be amazing for this." She said, Izuku looked at the girl in awe.
"My vote was also yours, for the same reason as Uraraka, I was not present in the battle, but just by observing I noticed that you have a clever mind." Tenya said, following Ochako's confession.
"Me too, you were very capable in yesterday's exercise, so I believe you will do a good job." Melissa also spoke, surprising the greenish guy even more.
"Wow...I had voted for Iida-Kun, but since you believe in me, I'll try." Izuku said, smiling at his friends, who returned the gesture.
Just as they were about to continue their meal, a loud alarm sounded throughout the school.
"ATTENTION, LEVEL THREE SECURITY ADVISORY, EVACUATE TO A SAFE LOCATION IMMEDIATELY."
A robotic voice spoke across the U.A. campus, and the refectory didn't stay silent for five seconds before pandemonium broke out.
"AAAAHHHH!" ; "RUN!" ; "SAVE YOURSELF!" ; "MY LEG, YOU IDIOTS!"
The students in the refectory looked like a bunch of headless chickens, running over each other to quickly leave the place, complete chaos. Izuku and his friends were huddled in the middle.
"Hey, what's this level three warning?!" Tenya asked a veteran standing near them.
"Someone broke into the school, this has never happened before in my years here, save yourselves!" The veteran boy replied, before running away.
"Calm down guys, let's stay together, it's just-" Izuku tried to calm his friends, until he was dragged like a fish in a net by the other students.
"Midoriya-Kun!" The three shouted, trying to reach him, but he disappeared into the crowd.
Izuku was being pushed and dragged uncontrollably.
"That way someone will end up getting seriously hurt." Said Izuku, until he ended up pressed against the refectory window, and he could see that a piece of the school wall was gone and the flock of vultures invaded the grounds.
'I can't believe these guys!' He thought, seeing Shota and Hizashi, Present Mic, stop the invaders.
"I have to warn the others, before the worst happens." He murmured, seeing the exit door and realizing that there was a flat area above it, that was where he would go.
Advancing along with the tide of people, he got close enough and jumped up to the wall, successfully clinging on, he turned around and saw the stampede still taking place.
'I can't believe I'm going to do this' He thought "HEY! STOOOP!"
Almost instantly everyone stopped abruptly and looked at whoever had shouted.
"WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING?! IT'S JUST THE MEDIA! ARE YOU REALLY AFRAID OF THE MEDIA?! YOU GUYS STUDY AT THE BIGGEST SCHOOL IN JAPAN AND YOU ARE ACTING LIKE A BUNCH OF SCARED CHILDREN! LOOK AT WINDOW AND SEE!" Izuku finished the sermon by pointing to the window, and then jumped off the wall and returned to his friends, who were looking at him with admiration, Tenya in particular had a swollen chest.
"Great job, President, I would only change the words, but overall it was a good sermon." Tenya said, nodding his head.
"I just did my job..." Izuku replied, quieter than usual, still not believing he had shouted like that.
"It was very manly!"
No one needed to be a genius to figure out who said that, but it seemed like there were two voices speaking, strange...
On campus, after the reporters were kicked out, Nezu and some teachers were analyzing the damage to the wall.
"So, any clues as to how a piece of the wall was apparently turned to dust?" The mouse asked the man next to him, Maijima Higari, also known as Power Loader.
"Apparently, it was the use of a quirk, which one? We don't know, but it must be powerful and very dangerous, since concrete and metal have disappeared as if they didn't even exist." Maijima explained to the director, who just nodded and frowned.
"I understand, I didn't think the reporters would get to this point, but honestly, I doubt it was them, they may be annoying, but they wouldn't do something like that." Said the director, thoughtfully.
"If they didn't do it, who did it and why?" asked Ectoplasm, who was on the side.
"Who made, we don't know, why, a statement." Said the mouse in an enigmatic way, making the others look at each other.
The next day, after all that embarrassment with the reporters, it was time for Heroic Fundamentals class again, and when Aizawa entered the classroom, he found everyone already seated and waiting for him, surprisingly.
"Morning, I see you are learning, well done." He said, looking sleepy, as always. "Today, your heroism class will take place elsewhere, at USJ."
This announcement confused everyone present, the USJ was a…
"The Universal Studios Japan? What the hell are we going to do there?" Denki asked, exposing the class's doubts.
"Not this USJ, at the Unforeseen Simulation Joint, a U.A building, focused on rescue and disaster training." He explained, making almost everyone in the room cheer up. "Today, it is not mandatory to use your suits, as you are not yet used to them, and they may limit your performance in training, use them at your own expense."
"Sensei, are you the only one who will supervise the training?" Tenya asked, formal as always.
"No, there will be Thirteen, All Might and, of course, me." He replied, tiredly.
"Get your suits and get dressed if you want, if not, wear your physical education clothes, then go to the entrance, a bus will be waiting." Said the hero, leaving the room dragging his feet.
Well, no one gave up their outfits, it's not every day you can wear them, right?
A while later, all the students, properly dressed, were at the front of the bus, ready to board.
"President, don't you think it's better to group everyone with their assigned seats, and maintain the prevailing organization?" Tenya asked the greenish boy, without a mask, and with his hood down, at his side.
Izuku just looked from Tenya to the bus 'I think he got the wrong bus' The boy thought.
"It's okay, Iida-Kun, this bus doesn't have standardized seats, it won't do any good." Izuku explained to his friend, who nodded in understanding.
"I understand, sorry for my ignorance." Tenya said, bowing ninety degrees, much to Izuku's embarrassment, but decided to call out to the others.
"O-Okay, class, everyone coming in and getting settled, no rush." The greenish boy said to the class, and feeling a little more confident, he decided to play with them a little.
"You better not jump the queue, if I catch someone like that, I'll send them back to the end." The boy said, putting on his best tough face, and of course, not everyone took it seriously, given the giggles of some.
After all the classmates entered, it was his and Shota's turn, the oldest getting in the front of the vehicle and Izuku sat in the only remaining seat, next to Tsuyu.
And so began the short trip to USJ, everyone was happy and excited, well, almost everyone, the Japanese Frozone was stoic as always, and the Explosive Blonde was, surprisingly, thoughtful.
While on the route, the students' conversation turned to yesterday's battles.
"Man, Mido-Bro, when I look at you I can't help but think about the simulation, you completely destroyed it, you're so strong!" Eijirou said, smiling from ear to ear.
"Yes, it was an exceptional performance, given that his quirk isn't absurd like Todoroki's." Said the emo crow of the group, pointing to the half-half with his head.
Izuku nodded shyly at the two. "Thanks guys, but it was a joint effort, I wouldn't have won without Melissa's help." The greenish boy said, sending a smile to his blonde friend, who returned it with one of her own, even with a small blush.
"Midoriya-San, if I may ask, watching your fight with Sero-San, I got the impression you were holding back, did I have the right idea?" The class vice, Momo, asked and that made Hanta look closely at Izuku, almost daring him to give an answer.
And even though no one knows, Shota also turned his ears to the conversation, any new information about his students is welcome.
Izuku got very nervous, that was a topic he didn't want to get into.
"W-Well...I-It's not like I hold back too much...I-I mean, I-" Izuku tried to explain himself through stutters, but Tape-Man interrupted him.
"Midoriya, yes or no?" The tape boy asked, looking seriously at his greenish colleague.
Izuku looked at him, and finally sighed in defeat. "Yes…"
Everyone was silent briefly, until Eijirou spoke up.
"And against me, I know our fight was short, but it must have been challenging." Asked the redhead.
Izuku just nodded, not seeing the redhead's surprised look.
"P-Please don't get me wrong…I just didn't want to seriously hurt you." Izuku said, looking down embarrassed.
"The last time I didn't control my strength, I fractured many ribs of someone, I don't want to cause that again unnecessarily." Izuku said, making everyone look at him in surprise, they had no idea that the shy boy in the class had gotten into a fight.
And no one noticed Katsuki's shudder, who subtly placed a hand on his ribs, remembering that day.
"Well, it's okay, no one will judge you for this Midoriya-Kun." Ochako said, trying to comfort her friend.
"Still, your quirk is incredible, very similar to mine." Tsuyu said, looking at the greenish boy with his blank expression. "Can you produce poison?"
Izuku laughed a little. "N-No, Asui-San, but who knows in the future, I still haven't discovered all the secrets of my quirk." The boy replied, smiling friendly.
"Tsuyu."
"You're lucky Mido-Bro, your quirk will catch people's attention, and mine...I don't think I'll be very popular." Eijirou said, extending his arm and hardening him.
"Don't say that, Kirishima-Kun, your quirk is great for combat, you proved that yesterday." Melissa was the one who said it now, since she was the one who suffered with it.
"If we're going to talk about flashy quirks, we should talk about Bakugo, Todoroki and Shield." Kyoka said, joining the conversation.
"Todoroki can freeze an entire building, Shield has absurd strength, if she learns not to get hurt, she will be very popular. Bakugo is very stressed, so he won't be very popular." Tsuyu said, and that statement was enough to wake Katsuki from his reverie.
"WHAT DID YOU SAY, FROG FACE?!" Shouted the blonde, glaring furiously at the frog girl.
"See." Pointed the frog girl.
"Heh! We've only just met, and everyone already knows that your personality is stinking shit." Denki said, playing with the blonde's fury.
"REPEAT THAT!" Yelled Katsuki, to the laughter of the others.
'Man, they're making fun of Bakugo, this is U.A's level.' Izuku thought, looking amused at the situation.
Shota, already fed up with all the shouting, spoke up.
"Silence! We're here…" The man said, and at the same time, the bus stopped in front of a large dome-shaped building.
All the students exited the vehicle and grouped themselves in front of Sensei, all looking impressed at the building ahead.
"Welcome to USJ." Aizawa said, monotonously.
They walked and arrived at the doors of the place, and there they found the Space Heroine, Thirteen, waiting for them.
"Hello students, welcome to USJ, here you will mainly do rescue work, which is my specialization." The heroine introduced herself, to Ochako's agitation.
"Look, look, it's Thirteen, her rescue work is incredible, she's my favorite hero." She said having a fangirl attack, grabbing Izuku's arm and swinging it everywhere, the boy just accepted it, laughing.
Aizawa, noticing the lack of someone there, approached Thirteen and spoke in whispers to her.
Izuku only saw the heroine raise three fingers and the man snorted and walked away, it could only be All Might they were talking about, who wasn't here, what? Would it take three minutes for him to arrive?
The teachers called them and everyone entered the facility, you could see different areas around the place, mountains, conflagration, ruins, flood, and some others.
Thirteen and Aizawa stopped at the stairs leading to the central plaza.
"Alright students, before we begin, I have one thing to tell you, or two, three, maybe four." She said, making the students comically sweat.
'It only increase's' Everyone thought.
"Anyway, today you will learn how to use your quirks to save lives, after all, a hero's job is not just to beat villains. But when you do this, care and restraint are necessary, I'm sure some of you have powers capable of killing, you especially need to pay attention, my power, for example, Black Hole, allows me to create black holes from my hands, you They saw him in action in the rescues, but if I'm careless, I can easily disintegrate a civilian, so…" Thirteen continued his explanation, and when she was close to finishing, Izuku's Spider-Sense went into a frenzy, it sounded like a giant bell was ringing in his head.
'What the fuck is going on?!' He thought desperately, putting his hands on his head, until he saw a spinning purple mist in the middle of the plaza, and then from that mist, two hands appeared and began to enlarge the thing, and out of it came the owner of the hands, a thin young man full of hands on his body, pale blue hair, and with him, many other individuals passing through the newly discovered portal.
"Sensei!" Izuku shouted, pointing in alarm at the plaza, Shota and Thirteen turned and saw the young man and a horde of other evil elements, there were many, the purple portal shrank and took the shape of a man with a head of mist.
"Strange, I don't see All Might here, was the schedule wrong?" The young man with the hands asked the mist man next to him.
"There may have been a last minute change." Replied the walking mist.
The students just looked on in alarm, their sense of danger suddenly screaming.
"What's this? Fake villains for training?" Asked a confused and fearful Eijirou.
"I think they're too bad-looking to be fake villains." Izuku said firmly, he had already put on his mask, and raised his hood, his narrow lenses and frown, analyzing the newcomers.
"Get out of here, those are villains, Thirteen, protect the students." Aizawa said, already putting the yellow glasses on his face.
"Wait Sensei, are you really going to face them alone?!" Tenya asked the hero.
"I will, get out of here as quickly as possible and search for reinforcements." He said, advancing towards the villains, jumping off the stairs and running at full speed.
"Well…This is a surprise party..." Izuku said absently, attracting the shocked looks of the others, they looked at him as if he were an idiot, and that's when he realized he spoke out loud.
"...My bad..." Izuku said, mentally scolding himself for the mistake.
'But it's still true…'
