Chapter 07: Crisis at USJ Part 01
"I know the timing was bad! Can you stop looking at me like that?! I'm nervous!" Izuku shouted at his colleagues, who were still sending him incredulous looks.
"Attention, don't just stand there, let's go!" Thirteen said, alarming the students, who then proceeded to the USJ exit.
In the distance, in the plaza, could see Aizawa beating up villains left and right.
The students who were most stuck woke up to the heroine's order and followed closely behind, but they were all intercepted by the mist man appearing right in front of them.
"Good afternoon, I'm sorry we haven't been introduced yet, my name is Kurogiri, and I'm in the service of the League of Villains, we came to this bastion of heroism with the purpose of killing the Symbol of Peace, All Might, pleasure." The villain introduced himself, cordially, to the astonishment of the class.
'At least it's polite.' Izuku thought, with his guard up, this was stinking bad.
"Get out of the way, villain!" Thirteen shouted, opening the cover on the index finger of his glove, she was about to activate his quirk, but...
"BASTARD!" ; "DIE, VILLAIN!" Eijirou and Katsuki shouted, respectively, advancing towards the villain.
"Wait, you two!" Thirteen shouted, but it was in vain.
"HAAAA!" ; "DIE!"
BOOOM! STRINK!
The two hurriedly retreated after the joint attack, smiling proudly.
"HA! You didn't expect to be defeated before that, did you?" Asked the redhead, before freezing when he saw the fog reform, bigger than before, with the detail of a type of metal necklace around the subject's neck.
"I see, so this is how it's going to be... My job is to separate you by location, and that's what I'm going to do." He said darkly, and then, the mist expanded enormously, surrounding everyone around.
Izuku, with his spider-sense blasting like a sledgehammer in his brain, decided it was time to get out of there. Spotting some colleagues nearby, he tried to shoot lines of webs at everyone he saw in the fog, and then jumped out of the area, pulling the others he could with him.
They fell to the ground and watched the fog subside, and then saw that those who were left inside were gone, but Thirteen and a few others managed to save themselves.
"GUYS!" Tenya screamed in panic, sprawled in place.
Kurogiri, seeing that some were still left, spoke up.
"I see some were lucky, that luck won't last forever." He said, preparing the mist again, but was thwarted by Thirteen, who absorbed the mist with the black hole.
"Students, you need to open that door and get backup from the school!" She said, after containing Kurogiri's attack.
At the same moment, Izuku had a click, and looked at Tenya urgently.
"Iida-Kun! You go, we will open the door for you, and you go to school and tell the Principal!" The greenish boy said to a surprised Tenya.
"No! I can't abandon you here, what kind of hero would I be?!" The speedster tried to argue.
"Now is not the time for morality, Tenya! We need you, we are at a tremendous disadvantage here, the others are scattered around, you are the quickest of us to do this." Izuku replied.
"I don't know if-" Tenya stilltried argue.
"No, Tenya! I'm the President of 1-A, and I'm telling you to get out of here and get help, you're the only one who can do this!" Izuku never thought of using this tactic, but urgent situations call for urgent measures.
Tenya just looked at the greenish boy in shock, before his gaze changed to fierce determination and he positioned himself in a runner's pose, the engines in his legs roaring in flames.
"That's it! Sato-Kun, Shoji-Kun, help me open the door!" Izuku said, already running to the door, the other two following behind.
"As if I would let that happen!" Said Kurogiri, who was being restrained by Thirteen, turning to the three at the door, releasing the mist.
Thirteen, seeing the villain's intention, stepped forward once again and activated the black hole, sucking in the mist.
"Go, quickly!" She encouraged the students.
At that same moment, the three managed to open the door.
"NOW, TENYA!" Izuku shouted to his friend.
VRUUMM!
Instantly, all they saw was a white blur passing by them, to the sound of furious engines.
As the three let go of the door, they heard Kurogiri's angry scream.
"NO!" Shouted Kurogiri in frustration, looking hatefully at Thirteen.
"Your plans are over, villain, reinforcements will arrive soon!" She said, activating the hole once more, sucking the mist out of the villain again, but now Kurogiri had a malicious gleam in his yellow eyes.
"That won't work, heroine!" Said the villain, before opening a portal in front of him and another behind Thirteen, the black hole appeared on the woman's back, causing her to hit herself with her own attack.
"AARGH!" Thirteen screamed in pain, and fell to the ground with the back of his suit damaged.
"SENSEI!" All the students screamed, seeing the scene.
Kurogiri, with the work done, dematerialized from the place.
The students who were transported were spread across USJ areas.
Katsuki and Eijirou were in the ruins facing some thugs.
BOOM!
An explosion from the blonde sent the unfortunate man flying.
"Tch, these shits are useless, even a snotty brat can finish them off." He said arrogantly.
"You're right, HA!" Eijirou agreed with the blonde, easily taking down another jerk.
"My Hardening can handle these guys, easily." He said, smiling confidently.
In the flood area, Tsuyu was with Melissa and Denki, surrounded by villains benefiting from the aquatic environment.
"How can we get out of here, we can't swim, we'll be sitting ducks." Said the blonde, looking closely at the villains in the siege.
"Shield-Chan, I think our best alternative is to wait for help. Kero-"Tsuyu tried to calm his colleague, but with no success.
"Don't you realize, Tsu? These guys are just waiting for what we're going to do, they're going to attack us at any moment, we have to find a way to get out of here." Replied the blonde, frantically thinking about a miraculous plan.
"We're going to die…" The electric blonde stammered, rocking on the ground.
"Kero…" Tsuyu just looked at them sympathetically.
In the mountainous area, Momo, Kyoka and Shoto were together, and they were also attacked by villains, however…
"This guy…" Kyoka was impressed, seeing the iceberg that Shoto created and trapped the villains.
"Yes… They didn't even have a chance." Momo agreed, seeing the boy approach one of the goon.
"Tell me…" He began, his voice cold as ice and sharp as a razor, the thug almost pissed himself just hearing. "What did your bosses plan to kill All Might?"
"I-I-I don't know!" The villain said, desperate.
"Don't lie! Unless you want to spend the rest of your days frozen." Shoto said intimidatingly, freezing his arm a little, and it clearly worked, the villain seemed to be seeing a ghost.
"Please! I speak! I speak, ok! The skinny guy with the light hair said that the monster, the one with the brain, said it was the weapon that would kill the big guy, I swear to everything, that's all I know!" The villain spoke hurriedly, his eyes closed in fear.
Shoto didn't say anything, just turned his gaze to the girls, to see if they understood the situation, which they confirmed.
"Come on, we have to go back." Shoto took the lead, already walking out of the area.
In the area of conflagration, Mashirao was alone facing some minions.
The blonde used his tail to catch himself on an exposed beam, spinning in a centrifugal attack, he hit the muggle squarely, who fell unconscious.
"Haah, that was the last one, I have to get out of here." He muttered, a little exhausted from all the exercise, and ran out of the building he was in.
In the downpour area, in the middle of the darkness were Fumikage and Koji, back to back, surrounded by henchmen.
"Koda-San, I hope you are ready for combat." The emo said monotonously, the gentle giant just nodded, getting into position.
"Our enemies may be many, but we have darkness on our side… Go! Dark Shadow!" He finished, ordering his faithful quirk to advance into combat, more powerful due to the lack of lighting.
"GROOWL!" The dark creature shouted, unleashing its fury on an unfortunate man, who was soon dispatched.
"What is it?!" One of the villains asked the other next, but it fell on deaf ears, as his partner had already fallen into the dark fury.
"AAHHH!"
Back to the others at the entrance, the situation was dangerous, Thirteen injured on the floor, colleagues missing, Aizawa alone against a bunch of villains plus the bosses, chaos was created.
Izuku, seeing that the fallen heroine needed immediate care, took action.
"Damn… Alright, Uraraka-San, Ashido-San, Aoyama-Kun, please give Thirteen first aid, we have to stabilize her as much as we can." He said, receiving nods from the three, who took the heroin to a more isolated place.
"Shoji-Kun, can you tell me where the others are?" He asked his masked colleague, who just created ears and eyes and investigated the surroundings.
After a while, he spoke.
"Yes, in the mountain area I see a crowd of people trapped in a giant iceberg, and Todoroki, Jirou and Yaoyorozu are heading to the plaza. In the ruins I can hear what sounds like Bakugou and Kirishima, but it seems like they've already taken care of everything. I can hear Tokoyami and Koda are in the downpour area, but they've already taken care of the villains and seem to be returning as well. Asui, Shield and Kaminari seem trapped in the flood. Ojiro is returning too." Mezo informed him of everything, to which Izuku nodded.
"Alright, I'll find them and send them all here, stay on guard and protect Thirteen! I'll be back as soon as I can!" Izuku said, already propelling himself with the webs towards the ruins, which were closer.
Shoto and company were approaching the central plaza, still with the information acquired causing some distress in their minds.
"Could it be true that they can kill All Might, I honestly can't believe it." Kyoka said, after a silent walk.
"Jirou, I don't think they-" Momo tried to say.
"They wouldn't go to all this trouble if they weren't sure they could do it, All Might can be incredibly strong, but he's still human, they really could have found a way to kill him." Shoto gave his point of view to the two, who were more apprehensive than before.
"Well said."
The three looked towards where the familiar voice came from, seeing Izuku perched on a rock, from where he jumped and landed next to them.
"Are you guys okay? Any injuries?" The pres asked, and everyone denied it.
"Excellent! Todoroki-Kun, what is this about killing All Might? I reached the end of your speech." Izuku asked the half-half.
Shoto looked at him coldly, before opening his mouth.
"The villains say there is a way to kill All Might, through the monster with the exposed brain." He replied, stoically.
"That ugly thing? Only if it's scared... Sorry!" Izuku said and apologized in advance for his impulsive relaxation.
"Okay, I'm looking for the others, I met with Bakugo and Kirishima-Kun, you guys go back to the entrance cautiously, we managed to dispatch Iida-Kun, and he went to get help, but Thirteen was injured and is unconscious, go back there and strengthen the protection." He said, not giving them time to dispute anything and left for another location, propelling himself with the webs.
After reaching Mashirao, Fumikage and Koji, he asked them to return to the entrance, receiving affirmative nods from them, without much trouble.
The spider boy was arriving at the flood, and he could already see the aquatic villains surrounding the ship, and the situation was ugly, as it was cut in half and sank little by little.
"I have to get there!" Izuku said, quickly looking for a way, but out of the corner of his eye he saw a yellow glow jump from the ship, looking over there, he saw that it was Melissa, and she was pointing her arm at the group of villains in the water.
"She won't…" Izuku muttered, but then he heard it.
"SMASH!"
And then a gust of wind followed the villains in the water, causing an impact wave and then a whirlpool, dragging the villains with it, all of them screaming in despair.
"Holy shit!" Izuku said, and when Melissa seemed to fall into the lake, Tsuyu jumped out of the ship with Denki clinging to her back, and then the frog girl grabbed Melissa with her tongue as they walked away, but it wouldn't be enough.
'Now is my turn.' Izuku thought, arriving at the edge of the lake, he pointed his wrists at his flying colleagues and shot two webs, and successfully reached them. And using part of his strength, he pulled them, making the three fall on near the edge of the lake.
Splash!
The three fell into the water, unharmed (Almost), but wet.
"Sorry about the emergency landing." Izuku tried to relax, before acquiring a more serious stance.
"Listen, go back to the entrance, but don't go through the plaza, it's full of villains, contortion through the vegetation, and don't make too much noise." Izuku incorporated the president and ordered them, the three agreed kinda apprehensively.
"Great, I'll check on Sensei, he's been facing those villains since the beginning, and he's still alone." Izuku informed the three, who were immediately alarmed.
"Wait, Midoriya-Chan, I don't think that's the best idea, isn't it better to leave that to Aizawa-Sensei?" Tsuyu asked the president, and for the first time, with a worried expression.
"No, Asui-San, as much as he said he could handle it, I discovered new things, and he will definitely be in trouble, and if necessary, I will get him out of there." Izuku said, looking defiantly at his classmates, who became even more apprehensive.
"Then let's go with you, you might need help." Melissa said, surprising the greenish boy. Denki and Tsuyu at first wanted to deny it, but in the end, they agreed and nodded stiffly.
Izuku just looked at them for a while, before deciding.
"Okay, but let's take it easy, we don't know how many villains are in the way." He said in an orderly tone, and walked stealthily towards where Aizawa was previously.
Melissa immediately followed, the other two looked at each other and followed close behind.
Shota was having fun with these fake villains, they went down with practically one punch, very easily, what wasn't calm was the apparent leaders of the group and that monstrous thing on their side. He could hear when the walking mist returned, telling the other that a student had escaped and that Thirteen was injured, and that their names were Shigaraki Tomura, the young man, and Kurogiri, the walking mist, unfortunately he couldn't do anything, he was stuck in the midst of these villains, he could only trust his students.
Shigaraki was watching Eraser Head beat your henchmen calmly, since they were close to game over, it was time to cause some terror to these heroes.
Advancing faster than he appeared, he arrived at Eraser's side with his hand outstretched, Shota, with his experienced reflexes, noticed him and tried to block the attack with his elbow, but regretted it instantly, as soon as Shigaraki touched his elbow, come a pain that he had never felt before and saw his skin and flesh begin to crumble, looking like ash in the wind.
He quickly launched his counterattack, spinning on his own axis, he kicked the skinny man with as much force as he could, the villain was thrown back, falling close to the monster.
"Hehehe, good…Eraser Head, you're really cool…For an NPC." Shigaraki said, in a hoarse voice, looking at the shaken hero holding his injured elbow.
"You might think I'm the Final Boss of this challenge, right? I'm just a Side Boss, the real boss…" Shigaraki said dramatically, pointing behind the man.
"Nomu..." Said the villain, and it was then that Shota turned around and saw the monster behind him.
"Break it." Sentenced Shigaraki, who was staring at the hero, seeming pleasurable.
The monster didn't speak a word, and in the blink of an eye, the hero felt something collide with him, it felt like a train.
Whomp!
Shota seemed to feel that all his bones were breaking, and he was soon flying backwards with the impact, but he also didn't have time to protest, as the monster quickly grabbed him by the head and pinned him to the ground, creating a crack in the place, Shota was sure he had a skull fracture. As a last resort, the hero attempted a reverse arm strike, only to be grabbed by the monster, who, with a maniacal grin full of sharp teeth...
CRACK!
"AAAARGH!"
The monster mercilessly broke the man's arm, leaving it at a completely atypical angle. Shota lay limp on the ground, completely surrendered, waiting for certain death, but Shigaraki had other plans.
"Stop Nomu, don't kill him yet… He will still see his beloved students die in front of him. And it looks like we already have candidates." Shigaraki said jokingly, looking at a spot in the vegetation, seeing four horrified intruders.
A FEW SECONDS BEFORE
The group of Izuku, Melissa, Tsuyu and Denki were getting closer, given the sound of combat getting closer. That's when they arrived at the central point of the fight, seeing several fallen villains and their Sensei beating a few more.
"Man, Aizawa-Sensei rocks, I didn't know he was that good." Denki said softly to the others, who nodded in agreement.
"But what about those three? They're standing still, wait-" Denki continued to speak, but was interrupted when he saw the guy with the hands quickly advance on the hero and was immediately kicked back.
The three were on guard, they could see the man say something, but they didn't hear anything, in an instant that creature was behind Sensei.
"The monster..." That's all Izuku could say, because in the blink of an eye his Sensei was on the ground, with that monster on top of him, crushing his head on the ground. They saw the man try to fight back, and then...
CRACK!
The sound of his arm being broken almost echoed through the dome.
"AAAARGH!"
That scream would stay in their heads for weeks, Eraser Head was powerless, submissive to that monster. They still saw the guy with the hand signal to the monster and he stopped putting pressure on the hero.
And then... the villain turned his gaze to where they were hiding, the Spider-Sense sounded like a church bell.
And the villain quickly advanced, his hand extended again, but he was aiming at Tsuyu, who didn't even react until his fingers were almost touching her face, but suddenly stopped halfway.
The villain just glanced at Izuku, who had stopped his hand just in time, looking at the mask's eyes narrowing, and his brow furrowing.
"Leave her!" That's what the villain heard, before receiving a punch in the face so hard that it sent him back from where he came, collapsing on the ground.
The villain stood up slowly and was stunned by the blow.
"Aahh, but who-" Shigaraki growled furiously, feeling a rather unpleasant pain across the entire left side of his face, the hand that was on his face was lost during the rollover, he looked at the students and saw the blonde girl with her arm outstretched, it was certainly she who hit him.
"Nomu! Let Eraser Head, kill the brats!" He ordered, pointing to the students. And with that, the monster turned towards the students and advanced.
Izuku, noticing that they were now the target, turned to his colleagues.
"Take Sensei and get out of here-" He could barely finish his speech, when Nomu grabbed him and threw him into the middle of the plaza.
Tsuyu and Denki were terrified, but they saw that Aizawa was "free" and went straight to him. Melissa followed them, lost in thought.
'My arm...' Thought the girl, looking at her intact arm, despite using her quirk to attack.
"Shield-Chan, help us! We have to take Sensei!" Tsuyu said, breaking the blonde out of her reverie.
"O-Okay, sorry." Melissa said, joining the two to carry Aizawa to the stairs.
After he was thrown, Izuku managed to balance himself in the air and land on his feet, but Spider-Sense went off again. And he barely dodged to the side when Nomu's devastating punch hit the concrete, sinking the fist and creating cracks.
The monster quickly recovered and charged at him in a murderous rage. Izuku could only narrowly escape his attacks.
'Holy Spider-Sense, don't abandon me now!' Prayed the boy, narrowly dodging another attack, the Nomu monster didn't give him time to attack… It was too fast.
Escaping yet another brutal attack, he saw his colleagues carrying Aizawa, and the quickest way for them to get to the entrance was to go through there.
It was during this slip that Nomu managed to land a blow, right in the ribs.
"AARGH!" Izuku screamed, and flipped to the other side of the plaza.
It was then Nomu noticed movement to his left, and saw the other students frozen. When he was about to make a move, something was thrown in his face, having his attention drawn back to the boy in green and black, panting.
Izuku felt some broken ribs, the pain was mind-boggling, but he couldn't weaken now.
"So that's how he felt…" The boy muttered, before looking defiantly at the monster.
"Hey ugly thing! I'm not done with you yet!" Izuku shouted, positioning himself for the second round.
The Nomu roared furiously and went on the attack, seeming to be incited by the challenge, returning to the cat and mouse game with the greenish boy.
Melissa, Tsuyu and Denki took the chance and continued to quickly take Aizawa to the stairs, but as they were getting closer, Melissa looked back apprehensively, she couldn't see the fight, but she could hear the thunder of Nomu's blows.
It was then that a brief memory came to the girl's mind.
'We are a team, and we win as a team.'
'Midoriya-Kun...' The girl thought, distressed, remembering her closest friend, even with such a short time.
'If he keeps fighting that thing...He's going to...' Melissa imagined the possibility, frowning, she made up her mind.
"Asui-Chan, take Sensei, please." The girl said, passing control from the man to her colleague, and then addressed the two.
"I'll go back and help Midoriya-Kun!" Said the girl, turning to run.
"Wait Shield! Do you really expect to beat that thing?! Sensei couldn't do anything!" Denki argued, trying to persuade his colleague.
"I don't expect to win! But I can't leave him there alone! Please just go, quickly!" Replied the girl, running back to Izuku's battle.
"Kero…" The remaining two looked at each other worriedly, but decided to move on.
The students who remained at the entrance were waiting for their classmates to return, but at the moment they were watching the confrontation between Izuku and Nomu, if you can call it a confrontation.
"Midoriya-San won't last long against the monster, he can only stall." Mezo said, one of his eye-like arms was focused on the fight.
"Please, someone come quickly…" Ochako also watched the fight from afar, but was completely afraid for her friend.
That's when the pink girl in the class spoke up.
"Guys, it's Tsu and Kaminari, they're carrying Sensei!" Mina alerted everyone, who looked at the base of the stairs, seeing the three.
"Let's help them!" Rikido took the initiative, leaving to help his colleagues.
"And where is Shield?" Hanta asked, trying to find the blonde nearby.
"Uhh…I think I figured it out." Mezo said, and when everyone looked at him, the boy pointed to Izuku's battle, the blonde girl running towards it.
'This is the worst day of my life!' The Spider-Boy cursed in thought when the monster grabbed him and threw him into the plaza fountain, breaking the structure and a few more of the boy's bones.
"Damn…" Izuku barely had time to speak when he had to dodge yet another attack.
"You're exhausting my patience, friend!" Izuku shouted, before shooting webs endlessly at the monster, managing to trap it in a semi-cocoon.
"My turn!" Izuku advanced and when he got close to the monster, he hit it with a mortal kick to the jaw, but surprisingly, the thing didn't even move.
'What-' The boy interrupted his thoughts, deciding to continue his attack. Taking advantage of the fact that the monster was still trapped, Izuku jumped above the Nomu and shot two web lines at the monster, then pulled it and spun it twice.
"Take that!" Izuku shouted, using all his strength to throw Nomu to the ground, the impact was strong enough to create a brief wave of impact.
Izuku landed on the ground and carefully watched Nomu's movement.
"He must be pretty hurt after that." Izuku pondered, but to his shock, the monster was rising from the crater, unharmed.
"B-But...How did you-" Izuku was interrupted by the monster flexing his body and destroying the webs that trapped him, and in a quick movement, he was on the greenish boy's side, staring at him with those expressionless eyes, ready to end the life of the boy.
"Midoriya-Kun!"
Izuku heard a familiar voice next to him, and when he turned around, he saw Melissa running at Nomu with a punch ready.
'She's going to...' Izuku thought in despair. "Wait Melissa, this guy-"
"DETROIT SMASH!" Shouted the blonde, jumping towards the monster and then hit him with a powerful punch, creating a wave of force that slightly pushed Izuku away.
But, also to the girl's shock, Nomu didn't even move, just slowly turned his head towards her, and raised his arm to elbow her.
Melissa closed her eyes and crossed her arms to receive the impact, but a line of web took her out of the way of the blow, leaving her close to Izuku.
"Midoriya-Kun...My attack didn't do anything, it was almost as if he-" The girl started, but was interrupted by Izuku, both forgetting the girl's intact arm.
"He didn't even feel it. I know, this guy is said to be the weapon to kill All Might, I'm starting to understand why." Izuku said, looking closely at the monster, who surprisingly was standing still, just looking at them.
"But then, does he have a high pain tolerance?" The blonde asked, also looking at Nomu.
"I don't think, when you attacked him I could notice something, if he had pain tolerance, he would still be pushed away by your punch, but he didn't even move, which made me believe..." Izuku gave his point of view of the monster, and Melissa understood at the same moment.
"He absorbed the damage, he's like a giant punching bag, but he fights back." Melissa said, with Izuku's nod.
"You guys are very perceptive." The two heard a voice to their right, and when they turned around, they saw Shigaraki standing there, looking mischievously at them.
"You." Izuku growled, looking warily at the villain.
Shigaraki just laughed mockingly at the greenish boy, before continuing speaking.
"Yes, Nomu has an absorption quirk, it's called Shock Absorption,ideal to counter the Symbol of Peace." Said the villain, confirming Melissa and Izuku's assumptions.
"But you have lasted too long…Nomu, finish them off." Shigaraki ordered the monster, and quickly he was in front of the young heroes.
Nomu had both fists ready to launch the attack, both at the same time. The world around Izuku was slow, but still, Nomu's fist was approaching quickly, he only thought of one thing at this moment... Push Melissa away from the attack, and so he did.
Melissa didn't even see what happened, at one point the monster was in front of her, in the next she was flying away and seeing Izuku positioned as if he had thrown her, and then quickly understood the situation, given Nomu extremely close to reaching the greenish boy.
"MI-" She didn't even have time to scream, as the monster hit the mark.
BAM! Crack!
The attack raised a cloud of dust, and all she could hear as she fell to the ground was the sound of the blow and something breaking.
'No!' Thought the girl, looking at the dust cloud in shock.
When the cloud of dust settled, the blonde managed to see the outcome, and could hardly believe it, Izuku was alive, crouched on the ground while holding the Nomu's arm, he was shaking with effort, his other arm was hanging at his side, clearly unused.
"Izuku!" The girl shouted, catching the boy's attention, who looked slightly at her and gave a simple smile, and she could still see that one of his lenses was destroyed, allowing her to see one of his eyes.
"You're so annoying, you brat!" Shigaraki shouted, glaring at the spider boy while scratching his neck fervently.
"Nomu! Stop messing around, kill him now!" The furious villain shouted again, and the monster moved to finish the job.
Izuku and Melissa knew that one more attack from Nomu was Game Over, however the blonde would never arrive in time to save the boy, and Izuku knew he couldn't handle another attack like that.
'That seems to be it...' Izuku thought, closing his eyes, defeated.
