Chapter 2: A Simple Journey

Team RWBY and Team JNPR.

They had made quite a name for themselves throughout the year. Initially, they were simply known as the teams with the most famous girls on them, but their reputation slowly but surely grew. They were the teams that tended to get into trouble a lot, and in a school that trains warriors, that meant something. However, they were always able to come out fine even in the more dire of circumstances.

While there were thousands of other stories that have happened throughout Beacon, their ones proved to be the most talked about this year, and their legends would surely grow as they spent more time there until their graduation.

So getting the opportunity to explore another world? It was certainly out there, but it was nothing they couldn't handle. This would simply become another page in their legend.

"Blah blah blah… Fate of all mankind… blah blah blah blah…"

Of course, most legends leave out the boring parts.

"Blah blah blah, Faunus, blah blah, blah… tell your parents… blah blah, wait…nope, nevermind, blah blah blah…"

They were currently approaching the tear on small boats, with Team RWBY on the Shaft of Spring and Team JNPR on the Here We Come, and the leader of this operation, Clover or something, was talking to them through their Scrolls about the details of… Actually, no one at Team RWBY couldn't quite remember what this was about. A lot of it was legal info though. They did try to pay attention initially but maybe it was the journey or something he just… kept talking, making even Yang groan as he made puns.

Don't get them wrong, he was probably a nice dude, but the speech could've been shorter.

"Psst…" Yang whispered as she leaned over to Weiss. "How long has he been at this?" She asked.

"45 minutes." Weiss answered in a dull tone.

"It seems more like ten hours." Blake thought before nudging Ruby, who had fallen asleep standing up.

"Blah blah blah, shotguns, blah blah blah…and that should be everything you need to know." Clover finally concluded. "I hope you remembered all that because I'd hate to repeat myself."

'Repeat myself' echoed within their minds, instantly snapping to attention. "We understand it all perfectly!" Ruby yelped.

"All crystal clear!" Weiss added.

"Memorize every word!" Blake lied as naturally as she breathed.

"Yep! No need for repeating!" Yang squeaked.

"Excellent." Clover soon breathed out in relief. "The tear should be in view now. Team RWBY, you will be going in first. If you need anything else, the ship's captain will help you. Good luck, but hopefully you won't need such a thing." He then got out before chuckling to himself. With that, he cut off his connection to their Scrolls.

"Oh thank god, he's finally gone…" Yang groaned as the girls slumped.

The other girls mirrored the blonde's actions before Ruby looked up. "Hey, look out there!" She exclaimed as she dashed over to the bow of the ship.

Right in front of them was the tear. They had arrived at where history would change.

"Whoa…!" Yang gasped in awe.

"It's… I still can't believe it's a real thing…" Weiss muttered.

"Even looking at it, I can't wrap my head around it." Blake admitted.

It was at that moment the boat lurched to a halt right in front of the tear.

"Huh? Why are we stopping?" The leader soon wondered out loud.

"Don't get your panties in a twist here!" A voice from behind them got out. They turned around and saw it was the captain walking out of the ship's cockpit. "I'm switching the fuel. Dust doesn't work on Earth, so this boat's been modified to take both Dust and something called diesel. I'll need some time to do that."

"Professor Ozpin mentioned that." Weiss sighed. She was starting to think the extra Dust vials were a mistake…

"But do you mind if I ask you a question?" The Leader of Team RWBY soon asked.

"Yeah, lucky boy probably bored ya to death, but he has to do it." The captain grumbled. "Give me a few minutes and I'll answer anything you need before we go."

"It's only one thing." Ruby assured. "How long is this trip going to take?'

The captain paused to think. "I'd say two-three days tops."

"So we'll only have, what, four days there at best? Not the full week?" Ruby muttered with a frown.

The other girls blinked. "Ruby, the return trip." Weiss soon reminded.

The leader paused as the gears turned in her head. "Only one full day!?" She then exclaimed.

"Isn't there a faster route?" Weiss questioned.

"That is the fastest route. Earth has a much faster and safer transportation system than us." The captain informed before shrugging. "It's just that the location we come out from is bad. There's no helping it."

"Why couldn't it have sent us closer to our mission?" Yang complained as she glanced over to the tear. "At least give us an extra seven days. It's not like a lot of time will pass on Remnant." She then suggested.

"It's just logistics and the labor needed to keep things running here." The captain sighed. "If you want to complain, complain to your mission director."

"Okay, where are they?" Yang then questioned as she narrowed her eyes.

The captain simply pointed to the tear.

"Oh." Yang soon got out in understanding. They would have to meet their supervisor on Earth. That would mean three days of nothing.

Sighing in defeat, the blonde brawler decided to cool off while the captain modified the engine by heading over to the bow of the ship and studying the tear in space and time for a while.

She still hadn't really processed that she'd be going to another world, but seeing this, with all glass-like shards of reality floating around them as the tear pulsed and shifted… it was maddening to think it was even remotely real.

"Such a pain in the ass, wish this thing would put us closer to Japan or whatever." Yang grumbled as she poked at the tear.

ZAP!

"Ah!" Yang yelped as she pulled her arm back. "What the heck!?"

"Yang, are you okay!?" Ruby exclaimed as everyone rushed over to her.

"Ow… yeah… fine." The blonde assured as she waved her hand, sucking in a little air. "The stupid reality hole thing zapped me!" She then growled.

"That… has never happened before…" The captain muttered. "How are you feeling? Anything odd?"

"Uh, no… don't think so." Yang answered with a frown as she flexed her hand. "Is this thing really safe for us to travel through? Shouldn't we have some sort of protection?"

"I've gone through this tear a few times now. It hasn't killed anyone yet." The captain answered.

"So it won't hurt us." Weiss guessed.

"I said it won't kill you."

"...That does not inspire confidence." Blake deadpanned.

"Well, you better get ready because we're going in. We have to keep to the schedule." The captain soon informed as he headed to the cockpit.

"Wait, now?" Ruby exclaimed in surprise.

"Engine's ready." The captain stated in a blunt manner. "Brace yourselves, girls. Things are about to get… unpleasant." He then advised before entering.

The girls' eyes widened before quickly holding onto the railing of the ship as it began to lurch forward.

With Ruby at the bow and her teammates beside her, they could only watch as the tear got closer and closer until…

SHATTER!

The ship broke through the tear, causing a rainbow of lights to fill the air. The tear had opened into a white blinding abyss, and yet they were able to stare directly at it without it hurting their eyes.

And yet they shut their eyes anyways as they entered into the tear, holding their breaths as they felt Remnant around them disappear.

Finally, they felt the ship stop.

Ruby was the first to open her eyes… and found that they had come out of the other side of the tear unscathed.

Despite only really seeing more ocean, she could feel the difference in the air. The sea smelled different, the air and breeze was slightly colder, and the sun shone a little brighter. This could've been all in her head but… she knew.

They had made it to another world.

"Welcome to Earth." The captain announced.

And then… it hit them.

"A-Ack…!" Ruby cried as she held her head in pain. Ah, it felt like her eyes and brain were burning!

"W-What happened? Are we through yet?" Weiss exclaimed as she looked around in a frantic manner. "W-Wait, am I blind!?"

Meanwhile, Blake's face turned green before she vomited over the edge of the ship and into the waters below.

"D-Does anyone taste… yellow?" Yang questioned with a grimace, stumbling around on the deck before managing to grab a railing to steady herself.

"Take a breather, everyone." The captain advised. He didn't sound so hot himself.

"Y-Yeah, sure…" Ruby breathed out as she sat down.

"A little more warning would've been nice!" Weiss called out as her vision slowly returned, allowing her to head to her partner and sit down next to her.

"B-Blake, are you okay?" Yang soon asked in concern.

"Peachy. Ulp!" Blake managed to get out before forcing down her sickness. "That was… not what I was expecting…" She then groaned.

"It's probably something in the air, or what it lacks or something from home." Yang guessed with a frown. "Come on, guys, fight through it. If we don't, we might get sent back."

"I'm trying Yang!" Ruby responded as she rubbed her temples. Seriously, where did that all come from?

"Hey! One of you girls might want to come up here!" The captain suddenly called out from the cockpit.

"I-I'll go." Yang offered. She was the healthiest out of all of them anyways, so the others didn't bother to argue. Soon enough, she headed into the cockpit with the captain looking at his map. "Is something wrong?"

The captain shook his head and sighed as he made sure to show the map to the blonde. "It's not bad, per say, just strange. We're supposed to be here, in this part of the ocean called the Bermuda Triangle." He began, pointing at a large empty blue space on his Earth map. "However, according to this map… we're in the middle of… the Dragon's Triangle instead." He then informed while pointing to a completely different part of the map.

"Huh?" Yang got out, blinking as she studied it closely.

"This has never happened with the previous teams. We need to report this as soon as possible." The captain soon determined.

"Will we be able to make it to Japan on time?" Yang soon wondered with a raised eyebrow.

"Actually, we're gonna make it ahead of schedule if we make port at Yokohama." The captain answered. "Shouldn't take more than a few hours of travel."

Yang blinked before letting out a relieved sigh. "We got lucky there…"

"Yeah, but it is concerning." The captain mumbled. "It'll take some time to plan a new course, but you should be leaving earlier than expected. Tell your teammates that we're arriving earlier than expected."

"Got it." With that, Yang left. "Hey guys! The tear screwed up, but we're closer to Japan now."

"Huh?" Ruby got out with widened eyes.

"Maybe because you touched it earlier." Weiss assumed with narrowed eyes.

"I don't think Yang has the ability to screw up that much." Blake deadpanned as she rolled her eyes.

"Hey!" Yang got out in an indignant tone.

"Wait, isn't JNPR's ship coming in after us?" Ruby suddenly remembered.

"..."

As if on cue, the Here We Come came through the tear.

"Woohoo! We made it!" Nora cheered from the bow of the ship. "Look at this! A whole new- OW! MY HEAD!"

"Sit down, Nora, it'll pass." Ren advised… right before collapsing.

Pyrrha tried to catch him, but her green-faced leader stumbled into her. "Jaune!"

"BARGH!"

"And… yep, there goes Vomit Boy..." Yang got out with a grossed out look on her face.

"U-Urgh…" Blake groaned, feeling some sympathy for the blonde leader as she recovered from her own bout of sickness.

…Also, legends tend to leave out the less pleasant parts of history being made…

It was around midday by the time the ships arrived at the most convenient Japanese port. As it turns out, it is right by a park in the financial district called Hamakita Park. It wasn't the biggest port, but it was able to handle two ships offloading their eight passengers.

"Well, this is it. Yokohama, Isezaki Ijincho." The captain stated as Team RWBY stepped off the boat. "You were supposed to take a flight here from Miami to Tokyo, then a train ride here. Real tough journey, I'd say."

"At least we didn't end up in some building or in midair." Weiss muttered as she glanced over to Yang, who was stretching her limbs and enjoying the nice solid ground. How was she fine? She was still recovering!

"The director of our operations in Japan is on the second floor of this small shop here, right near the Sakura River." The captain soon informed while giving them a paper copy of a map of Ijincho.

"Ooh, sounds really nice." Ruby squealed as she took the map, excited to explore the town a little before they went to their real destination. Meanwhile, her teammates gathered around to check it out.

"Ichiban Confections." Blake read out, spotting it circled at the edge.

"This place looks like it's on the other side of town though." Weiss sighed.

"I guess we better get going before sundown…" Yang muttered. "But there's still plenty of time to wander around town."

"And be careful while walking. Heard street fights are pretty common around these parts." The captain however warned. "The humans here aren't as durable as those from Remnant."

"Right, no aura, no Dust, less need to fight." Weiss got out. "We'll try and not get into too much trouble." She then promised.

"You better. I'll be back when your mission is all done, okay?"

"Yep! Thank you, captain. I hope you have a safe journey back!" Ruby soon said as the captain stepped back on his ship.

The captain only waved back as both the the Shaft of Spring on the Here We Come left the port, leaving both Team RWBY and JNPR alone.

"Alright, we're by ourselves from here on." Ren spoke up.

"So… ready to hit the town?" Yang asked with a cheeky grin.

"Sorry, but we can't." Pyrrha however answered as she shook her head. "We have to catch a train so we can get a flight from here to Australia, so we have to get going or else we're gonna get in trouble." She then added as Jaune showed them the directions they were given.

"Really?" Ruby responded in disbelief.

"We're on a tabletime." Ren stated as Nora pouted.

"Well, I guess this is where we go our separate ways." Weiss sighed. "Good luck everyone."

"We'll see you as soon as we can back home." Jaune promised.

"Enjoy the desert." Blake spoke up.

"Don't let anything bite you there." Yang added.

"Right." Jaune nodded to that with a bright smile… only to realize what Yang had just said. "...Wait, what?"

Team RWBY didn't respond as they began making their way out of the park, towards their destination to see their mission director

Meanwhile, on a nearby tree, a black raven watched the girls begin their journey across the city before flying off ahead of them.

Their journey to Ichiban Confections was a rather interesting one, just from seeing how different this place was from Remnant and what was similar.

No giant walls, weapons and Dust shops were non-existent, the sense of isolation was gone, and there were a lot more people than they were used to wandering around.

Heck, they even drove on the other side of the road! It was crazy!

Still, there were similarities. They recognized some shops like fast food restaurants and book shops. On their way, they saw familiar types of food (Blake had to be dragged away when she began to smell tuna) but also tons they never thought were edible. The culture shock was pretty apparent, but it wasn't too dissimilar to what they've seen in Remnant.

Although, they did notice they were getting stares and looks. Some were even taking photos of them with their less advanced Scrolls.

"Why are they looking at us like that?" Ruby wondered out loud as Blake quickly checked her bow.

"I don't know. We don't stand out that much, do we?" Weiss muttered as she looked down at their outfits. They had decided to forgo their combat clothes and wore their casual outfits and hid their weapons in their luggage, so they looked a lot more civilian but they were still getting looks.

Did they look weird compared to Earthborn humans?

("Wow, you don't see foreigners like them every day…")

("Who wears a cloak? It's not that chilly, is it?")

("Blonde hair? She can't be American, she's not that fat.")

("She's fat in other places…")

("You think I can get their number?")

"Really getting tired of all these stares…" Yang grumbled while adjusting her top.

"What are they talking about?" Ruby wondered out loud. She couldn't understand or read anything here, so she could only guess.

"Ignore them…" Weiss sighed as she shook her head.

"Not a single faunus here…" Blake mumbled. She wondered if teams with faunus had been written off almost automatically. It would explain why CFVY didn't make the cut. The only real sign of her kind had been some girl with a cat headband and a maid uniform getting pictures taken of her.

No glares, no apathy, not even a single sign. Heck, people seemed to be drawn to these costumed people, happily trying to get pictures with her or simply saying hi.

This was either a nightmare or a dream and she couldn't decide which one was better.

"Hey, Blake, don't worry. This will only be a memory in a couple of years." Yang assured, spotting her partner's uneasiness. "There'll be plenty of faunus here if we play our cards right."

As much as she wanted to trust her partner, she didn't want to, as right behind the blonde, there was an advertisement depicting even more cat maids, with what seemed to be prices and times. "...I don't know if I'll be happy with that." Blake deadpanned, deciding to walk a little faster.

(It was for a maid cafe doing a cat-themed menu this month.)

"And think we've made it to the Sakura River!" Ruby suddenly announced as she looked up from the map… and saw the actual river.

It was a sickly green with trash and dead fish floating through it. And even as they looked at it, they saw someone throw a cigarette into it without a care in the world.

"Sakura River, my ass." Yang grumbled as she covered her nose. "Shit River is probably a better name…"

"Yang, language." Ruby scolded before she looked down at the filthy river and shivered. If anyone fell in, they would probably die a painful death.

"Urgh… that water…" Weiss gagged. She was pretty sure she was catching diseases just from the air around it.

"No kidding…" Blake mumbled, having put on a face mask to protect her sensitive sense of smell before it was ruined forever. "So… this is our introduction to a new world, huh." She then added in a flat, unamused manner.

"I mean… the parts of the city we walked through before this place was pretty nice." Ruby tried to look at the bright side of the area, smiling as she watched someone serve soup to the homeless at a nearby camp and people animatedly talking with each other.

Her smile then dropped when saw some dude in nothing but very tight underwear and oil chasing after some women down the street, before slipping and face planting onto the pavement, knocking himself out.

Yang belatedly covered Ruby's eyes from that scene.

"Earth… is surely unique…" Weiss said quite plainly. "But this is only one place. Kuoh Town could be far more… normal than this."

"Let's just go, please. I can see the shop from here." Blake requested as she walked off.

"H-Hey, wait for us!" Ruby called out as the rest of the team followed.

Soon enough, they made it to the small shop and, after (attempting to) talk to the old lady running the shop, she simply gestured the team upstairs to an office on the second floor.

When they arrived they heard yelling and stuff being shuffled around inside.

The team looked at each other before shrugging and knocking on the door. "Hello? We must speak with you." Weiss spoke in a formal manner.

"Huh?" A voice on the other side exclaimed. "Who's there!?"

"Team RWBY?" Ruby answered.

"RWBY? They aren't supposed to be here until three days from now!"

"We got here early." Blake informed. "May we please come in?"

"One second!"

Soon enough, they heard several locks being unlocked before the door swung open to reveal a rather frazzled-looking woman in a business suit.

"Ah, Team RWBY." The woman greeted with a smile. "You're… way ahead of schedule."

"The tear… took us somewhere much closer." Yang answered as the woman allowed the team to step inside. The office was pretty messy, with boxes and crates at the corners and papers scattered around the room.

"Fascinating." The woman responded. "Have you reported it?"

"The captain of our ship here should be telling them right now." Ruby replied.

"Good." The woman breathed out. "There's still so much we don't know… it's overwhelming yet I've never had so much fun in life!"

"Uh, sure…" Ruby said as everyone became unsure of the adult in front of them.

"Ah! I forgot to introduce myself again!" The woman yelped. "I'm Blank Sleight, Head of Earth Reconnaissance, Japan Division. In layman, I am your boss for the next week or so."

"Or so?" Yang got out with a raised eyebrow.

"Well, you can extend your stay if you feel that's important enough to sign some papers." Blank answered. "But I'd recommend going back as soon as possible. The longer you're here, the worse the return trip feels, so I've heard."

"We'll keep that in mind." Blake assured.

"We have to step up our progress in this world." Blank soon mumbled. "Communication between our worlds is still being developed, which would make exchanging reports and news so much easier. Maybe if we base it off Earth's technology…"

"Excuse me?" Weiss spoke up. "Our mission?"

"Oh, right." Blank got out, looking a little embarrassed. "I'm glad you girls are here early. We need people on the field ASAP."

"How long have you been here?" Blake asked.

"Ah, it doesn't matter. All that matters is that you're here." Their mission director soon waved off.

That did not inspire a lot of confidence in the girls.

"Now, let me pop out to get something for your first task here. Give me a couple of minutes. Oh, and try out the senbei downstairs. It's to die for!"

And with that, their mission director left her office in the care of Team RWBY, who only stood there rather confused.

"...I really hope this is just a simple mission…" Weiss muttered with a sigh.

"Well, it's not that bad so far." Ruby stated with a smile. "And besides, we're going to get our first real orders. It could be about so many things. Try out the food, take in the culture, make new friends, or-"

THUD!

"...Paperwork!?" Ruby exclaimed as a stack of papers were placed in front of them.

"I know everyone here wants to go out and explore this strange new world, but there's still a lot of things we need to take care of before we let you go." Blank explained in a more formal manner. "This is mostly a hands-off, unsupervised mission so we can reduce outside interference, so we need to prepare everything you might need before you go galavanting around Kuoh Town."

"Such as…?" Yang pressed.

"Ammunition, general equipment, specialized equipment, cover stories, your shots, money…"

"This is an awful lot…" Blake remarked as she narrowed her eyes. "This was all organized in a month?" She then questioned.

"The Atlas military and research divisions are leading this operation, and they work fast. And given the time difference, we've made quite a lot of progress in one Remnant month."

"Wait, I heard shots." Ruby spoke as she raised her hand up.

"For some Earth illnesses." Blank informed. "It's only ten shots for everyone here. It's all to make sure you aren't carrying diseases back that might wipe out Remnant when you leave."

The girls cringed. "...That sounds bad." The heiress got out.

"Oh, it's a lot worse than you think!" Blank happily informed. "Now, are you just going to stand there or are you getting to work?"

"...Let's get this over with…" Blake sighed as they all took a pen, sat down around the office, and started tackling the amount of paperwork.

Several hours (and shots) later…

"And… done!" Blank declared as she sorted through the documents, allowing the girls to relax after seemingly endless paperwork. "Congratulations, you are now ready to face this world."

"Yaaay…" The girls tried to cheer, only to slump in their seats. "Urgh…"

"I curse… the bureaucratic process…" Yang managed to get out, shaking her fist up at the ceiling.

"Good to see everyone in high spirits." Blank remarked with a bright smile.

"I thought going to other worlds would be more… more exciting than this." Ruby groaned as she rubbed her sore arm, caused by all the writing and shots they were given.

"Preparation leads to greater rewards and less trouble for us, so be happy you're all taking care of it now rather than later." Blank explained. "But now, we're at the fun part: getting you all equipped." She soon declared while presenting the girls four suitcases, each colored to their appropriate owner.

"Finally!" Team RWBY exclaimed as they all took their suitcases and opened them to check their contents.

"Everything you'll need is in there. Some of those papers I had you do should be put in there as well. They're important legal documents should you need them."

"Um, is there a bag for a guitar in my suitcase?" Weiss questioned as she pulled out the folded up bag.

"Your cover story is that you are a band of foreigners traveling through the country." Blank answered. "Those instrument bags should be of great use to hide your weapons, easily able to be equipped at any time, but I would suggest avoiding any law enforcement."

"Right." Yang responded. She had experience avoiding the cops.

"You also can hide ammo in there for your guns." Blank soon added as she opened a crate full of boxes of bullets of all kinds. "We've managed to secure a good selection so whatever caliber you're using, it should be here. They're all basic bullets though, so no fancy stuff."

"Point and shoot only, got it." Blake responded with a nod as she pulled out some magazines from her bag and began loading bullets into it.

"Ah, there's only a box for my rifle." Ruby muttered with a frown.

"That's why I also had you do request forms." Blank explained as she looked over to the stacks of papers. "We'll send you the ammo should you request it as soon as we can, but that caliber will be tricky to acquire. Exclusive only to the military here."

"Aw man…" The leader sighed.

"Finally, here are your smartphones." Their mission director soon got out as she handed them their devices.

"Smartphones?" Weiss got out with a raised eyebrow as she studied the new items.

"Yes, they're like Scrolls but they work on Earth." Blank explained. "Don't worry though, this technology is quite sophisticated. It has a variety of applications you'll find useful such as communication, a camera, access to this world's public information network, this planet's global positioning system, and translation software. It can't track your aura, but it's still useful in a lot of ways. If you're in trouble, your teammates are only a tap away. Plus, you look less suspicious using them."

"Wow, thank you." Ruby breathed out as they all pocketed their new phones.

"The translation application will seriously be helpful here." Blake remarked.

"Is that everything?" Yang asked, looking eager to leave.

"Other than your train tickets out of town and to Kuoh. Nope, you're all good to go." Blank responded as she handed them their tickets.

"Yes, now we're getting somewhere!" Yang breathed out as the girls began to stand up. "Alright, let's-"

"Ah! Before you go, I must warn you to restrict the usage of your firearms in this country." Blank interrupted, causing the girls to groan as they sat back down. "They have very strict firearms laws here and we only have access to so much ammo. The preferred outcome here is that you return all that ammo. And I'm afraid we're going to have cut all ties with you should you get arrested… or killed."

The girls winced. "...Is that legal?" Blake had to ask.

"It is now."

"Of course." The hidden faunus muttered.

"Your overnight train into town is leaving in an hour. It's quite a trip so I suggest you get some food and drinks for the journey. You are now free to do what you wish." Blank soon suggested before gaining a serious expression on her face. "Do not abuse this opportunity. For all we know, what you do here could change both our worlds overnight. The actions and decisions you make here will have consequences, even if you don't know it yet."

Everyone nodded to that. Despite everything so far, they knew how serious this mission was in reality. Although, they didn't mean they couldn't enjoy it.

"Okay, farewell, Team RWBY." Blank concluded. "And, uh, please don't die out there."

"We won't." Ruby responded with a nod before the team headed out and to catch their train out of town.

The overnight train ride was quite pleasant. They had separate rooms to sleep in, got free stuff like soap, pajamas, and sleeping masks, and got a morning call to wake them all up and get some complimentary breakfast.

"Is this what being rich feels like?" Yang yawned as she stretched her limbs.

"Well, there are some advantages to wealth." Weiss stated with a small smile.

"This mission is starting to feel more like a vacation, huh?" Ruby said, sighing as she looked out the windows to watch buildings fly past them.

"It is nice, but we still have a job to do." Blake reminded as she shook her head.

"(Now arriving in Kuoh Station. Please keep clear of the doorway and allow offloading passengers to leave.)"

"...Wait, I didn't get all that." Ruby got out as she tried using the translation app.

"I heard Kuoh." Blake spoke as she stood up. "I guess we're here. We better get off soon."

"Right." Yang breathed out as the others began to stand up as well. "Gonna miss this train."

"We'll see it by the end of the week, Yang." Blake reminded.

"Yeah, but when will we get the chance to go back here?" The blonde pointed out.

"Hopefully, soon." Ruby answered as they began making their way to the nearest exit door just as the train pulled into the station.

They found their home base location rather quickly. It was a rather nice-looking motel in the downturn area. Nothing overtly fancy, but it was certainly nicer than they were expecting. After checking in, they heard up into their shared room. It was four beds, one bathroom, a drawer, and a rather ancient-looking (by their standards) screen mounted on the wall.

"Alright, home sweet home." Yang got out.

"For now." Weiss spoke as they began setting down the bags. "We shouldn't stay here for long. Let's get cleaned up, change our clothes, and take advantage of the time we have now. Explore the town and see what we can learn."

"If we split up, we'll cover more ground." Blake pointed out.

"That sounds like a good idea. What will everyone be doing then?" Ruby soon asked. "I was thinking about wandering around town with Zwei here."

"Arf arf!" The doggy barked happily. He spent a majority of the trip asleep so he had plenty of energy! So many new places to pee on!

"Well, I guess I'll be hitting my usual hunting grounds then." Yang decided before nudging her partner. "Bars, nightclubs, anywhere with a nice scene. Get some info there about the ins-and-outs of this place. Care to join me, Blake?"

"As much as I'd love to get hit on by men whose language I don't even remotely understand, I'll be looking at the bookstores and seeing what they have available. Our new phones can help me translate the text." Blake responded before turning to the heiress. "As for you, Weiss?" She then asked.

"Well, I might as well check out the culture and tourist spots. I'm bound to learn something interesting there." Weiss answered.

"Okay, looks like everyone has a plan. If anyone needs help, all you have to do is activate your emergency signals." Ruby nodded. "Let's all meet here by 10pm. Okay, Team RWBY, it's showtime!" She then declared.

And thus, Team RWBY's mission truly began, with their first day at Kuoh Town split up and exploring what it has to offer. What sights will they see? What food will they try? What dangers may this place have hidden in its shadows?

Well, they had plenty of time to answer all those questions. This mission could end up just being a rather elaborate vacation. Who knows what might happen here in Japan…

Across the street of the motel, Koneko watched as four color-coordinated girls and their dog went their separate ways.

"So that's where I felt that… it was coming from them…" She thought, narrowing her eyes at them.

It wasn't intentional, she would never use it even in the most desperate of situations, but she had detected five strong prescenes coming into town this morning.

And whatever was able to make her detect them meant that something bad was invading into their territory.

Leaving almost as soon as she could, she had tracked them down. It was rather easy, they didn't even bother to hide their auras… or they were incapable of doing so. And she didn't know how to react to either case.

And when she finally spotted her… her heart froze.

The one in black… her golden eyes… the way she smells… that couldn't be…

Koneko blinked as she returned to reality, curling her fists. No, she needed to stay calm. There was absolutely no reason to be (scared/angry/confused?) at this point. Nothing is ever what it seems after all.

"Nyan nyan, nyan nyan~"

Koneko blinked before pulling out her phone. It was a call coming from Rias.

Oh. In her determination to track down these mysterious prescenes she had completely forgotten to tell her president.

Well, it's as good a time as ever. Punishment later, problem now.

Answering the call, she didn't give Rias a chance to speak.

"Buchou, I think we have a serious problem…"

Issei Hyoudou nervously tapped his foot as he checked the time on his phone once again.

Was she late? Wait, no jackass, you came here three hours early. But it was getting pretty close to being late. Not fashionably late, just plain late. Did she forget what day it was today? No, no, that was impossible! If a girl really had the guts to ask him out, there was no way she'd forget!

He certainly didn't. He spent the entire freaking week planning (plus bragging to his friends… and masturbating to the image of his first girlfriend…) to reward her bravery. Confessing to anyone like she did shouldn't go unpaid after all!

Even if he had no idea she existed until she first talked to him and there was more than a 80% chance this was the girls' revenge prank against him, but regardless he was going to work hard, learn more about her, treat her like the damn princess she is, and then ask if she would like to have her boobs in his hands!

Not all on the first date, of course! That would be too intense for a budding relationship! Maybe… the fourth date.

"Ah, come on, Ise! Get yourself together!" The boy told himself as he slapped his cheeks. "You only get one chance at this. If you screw up here, you'll never get to achieve your dreams! You can do this! YOU WILL GET TO BECOME MAN TODAY!" He mentally declared as he pumped his fist, having not noticed several people staring at him weirdly as his inner thoughts were more outward than he wanted.

"Ah, Ise-kun~! You're here!"

Oh crap, it was her! Act cool, act cool!

"Heeey, Yuuma-chan." Issei swiftly replied in the smoothest tone he could muster at the moment. "Don't worry, I also just got here myself." He then assured with a cool smirk.

"Hm… are you lying to me~?" His date guessed with a teasing smile.

"Ah, no! N-No, I…yes. Just… I'm really happy to finally hang out with you!" Ise soon relented, his cool facade (or whatever the hell that was) dropping almost instantly, giving way to his honest, more excited self. "Come on, I have our whole day planned out! B-But, don't be afraid to tell me you want to do something else. Be honest with me if you need to."

"Oh, don't worry, Ise-kun." Yuuma giggled, causing the boy's heart to throb in his chest as she leaned in closer. "I'll make sure to leave you with something to remember this day by for the rest of your life~" She then whispered in a much hotter tone, pressing her breasts against the boy.

"Don't ruin this for me, Issei Jr.!" Said boy (and soon a man, if he played his cards right) mentally pleaded for the stiffness in his pants to die down before he felt Yuuma-chan grab his hand.

A girl. Was holding. His hand.

For the first time in 17 years, he felt… like his life was finally worth living.

Resisting the urge to cry, he walked forward with his head held high and his girlfriend in tow, ready to rock this girl's world (emotionally).

This was going to be the best day ever!

Hey, UknownHero here. Wow I did not expect this response. I'm really flattered. To anyone old and new, welcome to this crazy journey! Come for the boobs, stay for the emotional trauma!

Actually, I'm writing this part before I've even started this chapter. Tell me how it went because I'm either rushing into turning Ruby into a Devil or delaying it.

Now the current Uknown realizes he set a large part of this chapter of a RWBY x DxD crossover in Yakuza/Like a Dragon territory. It has a purpose, I swear.

To be honest, once I found out about the Devil Sea and its other name, I couldn't pass up the opportunity. And I saw Yokohama was fairly close (or at least by the sea), so I thought why not?

Please, if you want to ask questions, do it through PM. It's faster than waiting for a chapter to come out.
