Abbie is convinced that school is probably the worst thing to ever happen to teenagers ever. The strain to keep all of the gross emotions and thoughts of hundreds of students makes her feel like she's aged 20 years in one day. So once that final bell rings for the day, she sprints out as fast as she can.

"Hey! Wait up, I need to talk to you for a second." A stranger's voice yelled after her.

She whipped around to see a tall, attractive boy who seemed her age. Abbie had never seen him before, which was odd because she's good with faces.

"I'm sorry, were you talking to me? I've never seen you before haha." Abbie says quickly, praying her face isn't as red as it feels. She let her mind wander and feel his emotions and he seemed nervous.

"Yes I was! Sorry I just needed to talk to you. It's really weird and hard to explain but can you walk with me? I'll walk you home." The stranger said awkwardly while staring creepily into her eyes.

Hoping he isn't a stalker, Abbie agreed. "What's your name?"

"Keefe, Keefe Sencen." He muttered.

That's an odd name…. She thought, "Mine's Abbigail, but you can call me Abbie."

"I k- I've heard." He stuttered.

"Okay…." Abbie drew out. This was getting weirder by the second and she was ready to be home. What was even weirder was that she couldn't hear his thoughts when she opened the bubble around her mind. She could feel his emotions, and she would make sure all of her other powers worked when she got home, but the fact that her mind-reading power didn't work freaked her out.

"Let's walk and talk," Keefe said "I'm Keefe, I'm 16, and I know something about you that no one else does." He said with a smirk that made her want to run for the hills.

"Ummm that's not creepy at all Keefe." Abbie stuttered.

"Oh yeah, you're right. Sorry I was told to do this and I didn't realize how hard it would be. I'm not sure how Fitz did it with Sophie." He mumbled to himself.

"Keefe you're freaking me out. Who's Fitz and Sophie? Who told you to do this? Are you going to like kidnap me?" She yelled.

He looked at her with wide eyes, "Why would I kidnap you? I mean I understand someone coming up to you like I did isn't normal, but I don't understand why you would assume I'm kidnapping you! I'm literally your age, and you're much more powerful than me- at least that's what I've heard. And-"

"Wait a second!" Abbie gasped, "What did you just say?"

"I said I would never kidnap you!" Keefe laughed, "I mean it would be funny to try but-"

"No no Keefe after that." She said with wide eyes.

He seemed to pause for a second, like he forgot what he was saying, then he went pale. "Oh… I made a slip." He said slowly.

"You know about my powers?" Abbie whispered frantically, "How do you know about them? I've never told anyone! Ever!"

She couldn't believe it, what if he was with the government and was gonna experiment with her! He's only 16 so that should rule it out but you never know.

Keefe guided her to a nearby bench with a small smile, "Relax, Abbie." He sighed, "I promise it's not the end of the world that I know about your abilities, not powers." He laughed as her eyes got so wide she was sure they looked like they were going to pop out of her head.

"How am I supposed to relax when I find out a random teenage boy knows my deepest secret?" She shrieked.

"Abbie, please trust me when I tell you that you are safe. I am not going to kidnap you. But what I am going to tell you is going to freak you out. Are you expected home? It might be a second before you go back." Keefe said slowly.

"My Mom trusts me, she knows that I'll be home safe whenever I need to be." Abbie said while taking deep breaths, she tries not to get this frazzled. When she does, her abilities, as Keefe called them, tend to get frazzled as well.

Keefe grabbed her hands once she realized they were shaking, "Calm down Abbie, I have an ability too!"

That made her train wreck of thoughts take a pause, "You only have one?"

He paused as well, as if he was uncertain how to answer, "Well, I started with one, and then I got given another. But that's a long story. How many do you have?"

"I have eleven…" She said with her eyes on her shoes. She didn't understand why she was all of a sudden so trusting with this random teenager that showed up out of nowhere.

"ELEVEN?"

He flipped out.
