Summary

Kiera is tricked by one of X.O.S's assistants

Chapter 5

-Kiera Carson-

When we finally made it downstairs, I was met with a set of four evil vampires glaring back at me. I wanted to be the furthest point from here right now, but I couldn't move. Punk put me on the floor in the middle of the room, right where I have to see everyone - which is something that I don't want to do right now. "Ok, Kiera, I don't know if you properly know everyone's names. You just call us by our names. I'm CM Punk. This is Roman Reigns, and Jax Teller, and Drogo and last but not least John Morrison. Let's see, as far as the rules go, you can't leave the house, ever, you have to obey us at all times and at all requests, we do have the right to torture you if you are stupid enough to do something wrong, uh, you cannot go to the top floor of the house, and when we are out hunting, you are going to be locked up in the basement - like now!"

Jax came up from behind me and pushed me down the flight of stairs to the basement. "See you later, bitch!" he called down the stairs as he locked the door.

I could hear like three different locks click after that. Great, I am not staying in this moldy, dark basement and waiting for them to get back. I stumbled backwards a little and realized that I bumped into a cage, and not any other cage, but a cage full of people. "Oh, eww! What kind of sick freaks are they?!" I heard something-err I mean someone-move towards the left of the cage. "Hel-hello?" I asked.

He breathed again and I moved closer so I could see his face. All the light that was provided in the basement was from candles scattered through the shelves and knick-knacks. He was about my age with a nose ring and shaggy brown hair. "Whats your name? How did you get down here?" I frantically asked him.

"My name is Adam Lazarra. They took me a week ago. They've kept me down here without any food - all they do is make me bleed so that they can drink it. Where are they now, Kiera?" Wait, did I ever tell him my name?

"Um, how do you know my-?"

"I know your name because before you got here, they would always come over to that table in the corner and make plans about how to capture you. You, for some reason, are special in the world of vampire leaders, but I don't know why." He looked pretty weak.

"Um, ok. Well they went out hunting. But, I'll be right back. I'm going to look for a way out - this is insane!"

He nodded and then I left to go over to the other side of the room. I saw a book near the middle of a shelf and felt that the book was really cold, and yet nothing else was. I picked it up and saw a small trace of light coming through. Maybe it's a window! Sure enough, it was a tiny window with part of the wall caving in. Perfect! I pulled the shelf to the other side and found a hammer. I broke the glass in the window and began to break down the weak wall that surrounded the window.

Within about ten minutes, I had the wall down and a hole big enough to fit everyone through. First, I made my way out the hole to look around and find a place to hide. Then I saw it in the distance - a farm house about a mile away. I quickly ran over to the house and knocked on the door a couple of times. A really tall guy with an attractive deep accent opened the door. "Oh, wow. Miss, what are you doing all the way out here? Are you ok?"

I nodded my head, I was a little out of breath. Once I caught my breath, I answered, "I'm fine. I don't think that you would believe me if I told you were I came from but there are a lot of people there that need to get away and need a place to stay. Do you mind if I send them over to your barn?"

He smiled slightly, "Of course, that's fine. What did you say your name was?" I was a little freaked that he wanted to know my name, but I told him anyways. His eyes went a little big when he heard my name - weird. He then said, "Alright, Kiera. Well my name is Ville if you need anything. Glad to help you out!" I thanked him and leaped down the stairs.

"Yes! Finally something is going right tonight!" I clapped my hands together and came back inside to free the others. I figured this would be like an Underground Railroad kind of deal in which I lead the captive people over to the farm. I ran over to the cage with the hammer and in one swift move was able to break the chain and lock on the door.

Within an instant, the people were aware of what I was up to and gathered all the limited strength they had to make their way out of the cage and out the door. One of the last people to leave was Adam. He casually strolled over to me as I was getting ready to close the door on the empty cage. "Wow, I must admit that was a pretty good move, freeing all those poor people. Where are they going?"

"We are going to this farm that's down the street. Some guy named Ville answered the door there." He nodded his head and started to slowly circle me.

"Yep...that sounds about right. Too bad you won't make it there."

Before I caught that last sentence, he had circled me enough to make me dizzy and then he pushed me in the cage and re-locked it. "I can't let you go to that farm. And besides, I couldn't let you go anyway. Thanks for letting me out, Kiera. I'll be sure to report everything to the guys when they get back and then you'll get yours."

I was shocked. How could he do this to me? He smiled really big at my expression and then I saw that he was a vampire too. I lunged at the cage aiming for him, "You little bastard! How could you do that? I am not staying here, so you better let me the hell out!"

"I don't think so!"

He put a piece of tape over my mouth and wrists, then pushed me back into the straw. I lost my balance and fell. He laughed yet again and said, "See you later, princess" as he walked up the stairs and unlocked the doors and then locked them again. I was so close to freedom that it nearly killed me - no I'm not giving up, those people got their freedom, and now I want mine!

There was a rusty pipe near the corner of the cage that was sharp - sharp enough to cut the tape. As soon as that was off, I carefully pulled the rest off my mouth and went back over to the door to search for a way out. I looked all over and slouched down to the ground after about five minutes. Then, I saw my hammer on the ground from before, just in my reach.

I skillfully stuck my skinny hand in between the bars and brought the hammer through and quietly as possible knocked off the lock and made a dash for the window. I'm guessing Adam didn't hear me, because he didn't come back down, thank God. I'm safe...for now.
