Elisa's thoughts as they finally managed to stop Puck and Demona. They return to the tower where he originally used his powers to turn everyone else in the city into a gargoyle just like herself.

'In just a few moments this long night will be over. Then I won't have to keep lying to Goliath and the others about my memories anymore' Elisa thought to herself.

Of course, she accepted the fact that she was supposed to be human and the form she was in now was not her true form at all. However, that did not mean her memories just automatically changed back to normal though. It was similar to the time that Demona had used a spell from Grimorum spellbook on Goliath that left him in a state where he would be a mindless slave that followed the orders of whoever held the page the spell was on. Though that turned out not to be the case as no one was aware that the spell did not make someone mindless it merely robbed control of the person's body from their conscious mind. It was like the spell ripped correct of their body from them and left them a passenger in their own body.

The only way there were able to confirm this was that Elisa used to spell to defeat the spell by ordering Goliath to act for the rest of his life as if he were not under a spell. Thus everyone thought that she had managed to break the spell by giving it an order that seems counter it...or so they all thought. While Elisa was new to actual magic, she had an idea of the various ways humans assumed magic would have worked from countless works of fiction that were created through human history. If magic was indeed real then how many of those stories were actually based in fact and which ones that described magic were the closest to how things really worked were always things she thought about and still thought about from time to time.

Thus Elisa wondered did they break the spell or did they use the spell to trick it into giving back control to Goliath however he is still under the effects of the spell. It is just the spell is now the one that is forced into the backseat to serve as the passager while Goliath keeps control of his body. Using the spell in sense not to break it or counter it but instead merely trick it into following an order such as that one.

Although she was not sure if this was an answer to that question but if the magic Puck used and the magic from the spell in the Grimorum were similar. The answer she got was that you can not break spells like that merely trick them into a state such as what Elisa did. Thus when Goliath and the others told her she had always been a human and they had always been gargoyles. All the memories she had of it being the reverse did not just go back to how they were before the spell had been used on her.

Elisa still had no memories of ever being human nor any memories of Goliath and the others ever being gargoyles at all. She merely accepted that a spell had been used on her to alter her memories because she believed such a thing was possible through magic. She could look at herself and then the others to see that. Also, the fact that while her mind might have memories of doing things that were a different case for her body or even when she actually tried doing them for real. Not just reflecting on altered memories of her doing them, which was a weird experience for her.

Thus when they had the mirror in their possession rather than ignore that voice in her head to suggest not leave the mirror facing them or uncovered, she listens to that voice. Which worked like a spell probably aimed at Goliath and co. did not work as a result of them not getting changed too. Causing them to realize that her memories are still fully altered. Good thing that what her memories were telling was their past and was actually while vastly different was still similar enough that she could work her way through being like this for a single night at least she hoped that was the case.

However, that was not the case as they took longer to go through capturing Demona and having Puck take them back to the tower to undo things finally.

'Huh, why is he focusing on just the city first and not including me within that. Does not he know that it almost daybreak as I could be...oh no' Elisa thought

Looking at herself as she could already see the signs of it happening. It was not something she would ever miss with her mind being used to this feeling but it is the first time she was going to experience it for real. The counterspell for her would reach her in time she looked at to see the sun starting to rise.

'Come on...Come on Come on...He is not going to make it' Elisa thought as the feeling was getting stronger and stronger to the point where she knew it was already too late.

She took one look at Goliath and then that worried expression on her face was frozen as she fully turned to stone. Just after she was completely transformed into stone for the day the counter spell from Puck struck her however it was useless at this point. The counterspell could not work on someone that currently was not alive. Elisa was not currently alive as she was not more than a stone statue at the moment. What the gargoyles thought was just a natural process they were going through actually had its origins as a magical spell. One similar to the Spell of Humility(which is why a gargoyle's clothes and items that are on and/or in their possession that they acknowledge as being theirs turn to stone too during the day) cast on the entire species back in 10 A.D by the Roman Magus

This Magus, that was, in fact, the original Magus, the one that actually created the Grimorum spellbook in the first place. Along with only one to combine the Grimorum Arcanorum with the Eye of Odin and the Phoenix Gate. Though what the Roman Magus did not know was the Spell of Humility as it would later be called was based on the original spell that originally turned the entire gargoyle species to stone period. There was no difference between night or day as they were all turned to stone statues seemingly permanently.

However, while the magic that turned them to stone could not be undone it was altered slightly so that they would only turn to stone during the day alone. The magic which affected the entire species eventually became a part of them biologically as their bodies could just turn stone during the daylight hours and back during the night hours. Though the magical origins of this ability never truly went away thus why the Spell of Humility was able to affect the entire species as the Roman Magus was merely aiming to affect the gargoyles in Rome at Emperor Augustus' behest.

As Elisa stood there basically petrified completely and utterly down to her core like every other gargoyle. She along with the others were unaware as Puck was taken away along with Demona. They were placed along the building to look as if they were installed there as decorations on the building. Of course, Elisa stood out amongst them as she was only one of the group that looked to be wearing a version of modern day clothing.

What neither Puck nor the one that took him away was aware of was that someone had messed with his spell in advance. Normally when using magic that alters reality there was a bit added to each spell that prevents reality from either attempting to right itself or if it can not right itself then adjust to fit the changes that have been made it. When you mess with reality without the proper precautions it tends to mess back. Mess back it already had for the moment it was the first cast on Elisa and every reality altering based by Puck until the final one...which failed to turn Elisa back.

Puck would not forget nor forgive the one that did this as there were many things you could do to a trickster and get away with it. However, the one thing you should never try though is to trick a trickster.
