As the sun continue to shine over the city above as the daylight hours continued onward. There was another group that was just confused by what was going on. That would be the mutates that were not affected but any of the spells that Puck had used the previous night. Neither the spell that turned humans into gargoyles nor the one that turned them back to normal near the beginning of the day as the sun started to rise.
Though they all did not notice it was happening as where they were living currently in what was being called the Labyrinth. Originally it was just the former Cyberbiotics complex that they choose to start living in. Though it has quickly become a place where the refugees of society: Manhattan's homeless were come to stay as well. Thus as a result when the spell was used all the humans around them turned into gargoyles and a small percent of them never turned back afterward.
"Where do you think that you are going," Maggie asked Talon as she noticed it look like he was trying to head somewhere.
"Going out for a bit" he answered
"In the middle of the day, why would you even think about doing that," she asked
Talon did not have any real response to give her for this
"You think that she got caught up in that as well right," Maggie asked "make sense as she might have and could have even been directly involved with both why it happened and how it was partially fixed"
"So there is a chance that she is out there still a gargoyle and now defenseless as a statue" he replied
"But she mostly likely with Goliath and the others though," she said
"That is what worries me somewhat as he might not mean to but things just happen around him...around all of them after all. Who's to say that something went wrong this time and not everything was resolved in a single night. We all stuck like this after all so what if her luck ran out" he said
"Even if it did she is most likely safe with the others as they been turning stone away from their homes before and return just fine," she told him
"Wait until nightfall comes and then go looking for her as we should probably deal with our own problems as there are those that remained gargoyle here after all" she then added on.
Talon, Maggie, and all of the other mutates did not want to bring up the topic of how the spell never affected them at all. Thus kind of proving once again that they were no longer even considered human even in the eyes of magic. They were not even modified humans as they then could have had that small bit of hope. One that if they were turned into gargoyle like everyone else when they were turned back it would be as mutate but instead they would be turned back into their original human forms. However, this never happened so they were all trying to keep busy thus pushing those lingering thoughts to the backs of their mind where they hoped that they would stay and not surface any further than they had to start with.
As things were getting a little disorderly around the Labyrinth. That was when Talon just sighed as he would probably have to put off looking for Elisa even after the sun had gone down to deal with everything that was happening here. Since everyone here was a refugee of society be it because they were homeless or a mutate. The emergence of a new gargoyle group that formed was getting things to be a little disorderly with just how things were being handled by everyone.
To get things under control again Talon went about taking charge of the effort as he was one of the those that go about allowing the homeless to stay here as well thus tried dealing with the problems that were arising with everyone as a result of things happening here where he was calling home now.
In this effort he had Maggie helping him as she was providing a lot that recently came to his aid at a time when he needed it. As she was dealing with things in her own way given that she used to be homeless herself. So she helped out by not giving others a place to stay but this expected turn of events helped calm things down along with him.
These events would, later on, prevent a coup attempt that would have been something Fang attempted to try himself. As means to take over the Labyrinth for himself. As currently, they did not have a leader that ran this place with their only be a few set rules here and there with the mutates like him and others being tasked with overseeing and defending everyone here.
Talon's taking charge of the chaos and bringing order towards them would lead to him being chosen to be the leader of the Labyrinth as a result before Fang could even attempt to take control of the place as those that would have sided with him originally. They were siding with Talon because of his actions and the way he would have dealt with this unexpected event that according leaving a portion of the resident of the Labyrinth now as gargoyles themselves.
It was while he and Maggie would going about trying to bring things to order that they came across something interesting as it was a pair of siblings that had both remained as gargoyle though rather than being the more human like ones that Talon and Maggie were aware of.
"Hey Talon does she kind of look like me," Maggie said as she stood next to the girl gargoyle that looked like a cat complete with their head, body, and even tail being feline in appearance.
"She does and what I am assuming is her brother looks a lot like me" he replied overlooking what they both assumed was the brother of the two siblings.
They found the pair near the entry of the Labyrinth itself as if they were seemingly new arrivals that had just found the place. It seemed like that was the case for the look girl's face as she was apparently marveling over the place they were in now. A complex that one would not expect to find down here after all which made such a good place for them to live as a result.
"Though it seems like they were in an accident or something else given the state of their clothes as they look torn and ripped in all sort of place yet this does not seem to be from just wear and tear of having nowhere to go or call home," Maggie said pointing this out.
Talon had another bad feeling that things were about the change as merely a portion of the population becoming gargoyles did not seem like the only lasting change that had happened last night either.
