No One's Pov
Several ships carrying students and docking at the entrance of the school. As soon as one lands, Jaune Arc emerges and goes over to the nearest trash can, hunching over it as he loses his lunch.
Ruby and Yang, alongside several other students, walk out of the ship and head down the paved path to the front of the school.
"Wow..." Both Ruby and Yang said as they take in the entirety of Beacon Academy.
"The view from Vale's got nothing on this!" Yang said.
Ruby was getting so excited that she became a 2-D, starry-eyed, floating chibi. "Ohmygosh, sis! That kid's got a collapsible staff! And she's got a fire sword!" she tries getting closer, but Yang pulls her sister by the hood back into realistic proportions. "Ow! Ooww!"
"Easy there, little sister. They're just weapons!"
'Just weapons'? They're an extension of ourselves! They're a part of us! Oh, they're so cool!" Ruby replied.
"Well, why can't you swoon over your own weapon? Aren't you happy with it?" Yang asked.
Ruby then transforms her weapon into its scythe form. "Of course, I'm happy with Crescent Rose! I just really like seeing new ones. It's like meeting new people, but better..."
Yang playfully pushes her sister's hood down over her face. "Ruby, come on, why don't you go try and make some friends of your own?"
Ruby is taking off her hood. "But... why would I need friends if I have you?"
"Well..." Yang started to say, but in a flash, a group of other students surround Yang, and they all dash down the road. "Actually, my friends are here. Gotta go catch up. 'Kay, see ya, bye!"
Ruby was spinning and dizzy-eyed from Yang's sudden leaving. "Wait, where are you going?! Are we supposed to go to our dorms? Where are our dorms? Do we have dorms? Ruby asked, stopping for a moment, still reeling. "I don't know what I'm doing..."
Ruby falls backward into a luggage cart, sending cases flying. Someone is standing over her.
"What are you doing?!" A voice called out
Ruby was getting up on her hands. "Uh, sorry!"
"Sorry?! Do you have any idea of the damage you could have caused?" Weiss asked.
Ruby was holding a case. "Uuhhh..."
"Give me that!" Weiss said as she snatched the luggage from Ruby and opened it to reveal its
twinkling-sounding contents. "This is Dust - mined and purified from the Schnee quarry!"
"Uuuhhhh..." Ruby replied.
What are you, brain-dead? Weiss asked, holding out a vial of red dust and shutting the case. "Dust! Fire, water, lightning, energy!"
"I... I know... Ruby starts to say, but she was coughing from the Dust pouring into her face.
"Are you even listening to me? Is any of this sinking in? What do you have to say for yourself?!" Weiss asked.
Ruby, who had been receiving more and more Dust to her face, finally sneezes, which erupts into a full-blown explosion of flame, snowflakes, and electricity right onto Weiss. The bottle she had been holding flies over the courtyard and at the feet of Blake Belladonna, who picks it up and notices the Schnee Dust Company logo on the side as she reads from a book and looks over at the scene.
Weiss is now covered in soot, though it quickly disappears. "Unbelievable! This is exactly the kind of thing I was talking about!"
Ruby was apologetic and embarrassed. "I'm really, really sorry!"
"Ugh, you complete dolt! What are you even doing here? Aren't you a little young to be attending Beacon?"
"Well, I-I..." Ruby started to say, but Weiss cut her off.
"This isn't your ordinary combat school. It's not just sparring and practice, you know! We're here to fight monsters, so... watch where you're going!" Weiss said.
Ruby was finally fed up. "Hey, I said I was sorry, princess!"
"It's heiress, actually." A voice called out Ruby and Weiss look over as Blake approaches with the bottle. "Weiss Schnee, heiress to the Schnee Dust Company, one of the largest producers of energy propellant in the world."
Weiss was smiling smugly. "Finally! Some recognition!"
"The same company is infamous for its controversial labor forces and questionable business partners." Blake said.
Weiss was getting angry again as Ruby chuckled. "Wha- How dare- The nerve of... Ugh!" Weiss gets up in Blake's face and takes the bottle from her, walking off in a huff as her helpers gather the luggage and follow.
"I promise I'll make this up to you!"Ruby said to the storming Weiss, still sorry, then she sighs. "I guess I'm not the only one having a rough first day... So, what's..." Ruby started to say sees Blake walking off as well, then collapses to the ground on her back. "Welcome to Beacon... " she remains this way until a shadow comes over her.
"Hey... I'm Jaune." Jaune introduced himself.
Ruby then takes his hand. "Ruby." She said thstands up. "Aren't you the guy that threw up on the ship?
Kanji's pov
I was walking through the Emerald Forest close to Beacon Academy. I had a feeling that the girl from Vale would be here.
I was on guard with Grimm, and they were around, but I knew they wouldn't dare come after me because they knew that he was always by my side. I normally would be at the bottom of the world's ocean, but I felt a disturbance ever since I fought with the girl in Vale, and I came to investigate it, and then I sat down and decided to take a nap against a tree after that I fell asleep.
Dream World
I was in a weird place. Everything was white, and it was pale. Then everything started to shift, and my vision became blurry until I saw that it was back in my old village it was night, and everyone was returning to their homes.
Nobody seemed to notice me, but then I heard an explosion, I looked in the direction, and I ran to see my old home and heard a woman screaming. I quickly recognized the scream, and I rushed into the house, avoiding the flames along the way, and then I heard screaming coming from my parents' room.
I rushed upstairs, and I broke the door down, and I saw a horrific sight my father was covering my mother from the flames . There were flames everywhere, and I heard shouting and from the front window I saw people with pitch forks and torches at the house my parents were terrified and I try to get to them but then a piece of the ceiling hit me on the head and my vision became blurry and I saw my parents before everything went static, when it stopped I saw my parents dead on the floor with blood I was horrified by the sight before I scream.
"Mom!!!,Dad!!!"
Before I knew it, I saw a female walking away like nothing happened, I knew she wasn't my mother she had deathly white skin and white hair. Her eyes were red irises with black scleras she was wearing a very long, short-sleeved black robe that obscures her feet and partially drags across the ground, with its distinctive feature being a curved high collar with dark red trim bordering the outer edge of a narrow window exposing her bust in a vertical ellipsis resembling an eye, and completed with a long shawl emblazoned with three interconnected, maroon-colored vertical elliptic sigils resembling a trio of overseeing eyes above a series of maroon-colored diamond emblems. She also wears a ring resembling a beetle on her right hand, which now has longer fingernails with jet-black nail polish.
I couldn't tell who she was because she had her back, was facing me, then I heard a giggling in amusement and walked right through the fire, then I saw a huge warhead hitting the ground and everything was engulfed.
Dream End
I woke up horrified and roared loudly in fear. I heard the birds flying away in a panic, and my roar echoed that dream it was way to real to be one I feel that I was sucked into my past to experience pain and how I got this power, who was that woman and was she responsible for my parents death?
"What was that...that dream... that vision ... that woman she's the cause of my parents' death." I said in anger I saw my fingernails becoming more reptile like and I retract them I looked around just before I realized it was night was I asleep that long.
At Beacon before Kanji woke up Ruby's Pov
My first night at Beacon, students are splayed out in sleeping bags. I was in her pajamas and, with a sleeping mask around my head, I was writing in a journal when I heard Yang crash next to me in her pajamas.
"It's like a big slumber party!" Yang said.
I was not looking up. "I don't think Dad would approve of all the boys, though."
Yang: I know I do! I heard her purrs as then I heard her groan. "What's that?"
"A letter to the gang back at Signal. I promised to tell them all about Beacon and how things are going." I answered.
"Aw, that's so cuuuute!" Yang said, then I knocked her back with a pillow launched at her face.
Ruby: Shut up! I didn't get to take my friends with me to school! It's weird not knowing anyone here!
"What about Jaune? He's... nice! There you go! Plus, one friend! That's a hundred percent increase!"
Then I turn on her back. "Pretty sure Weiss counts as a negative friend. Back to zero...:
"There's no such thing as negative friends! You just made one friend and one enemy!" Yang said, then I hit with another pillow, this time looking like a dog, to the face. "Look, it's only been one day. Trust me; you've got friends all around you! You just haven't met them yet!"
Then we noticed a candle being lit nearby, and I saw the girl with the black bow she was leaning against a wall, reading her book.
"That girl..." I said.
"You know her?" Yang asked.
"Not really. She saw what happened this morning but left before I could say anything." I answered.
"Well, now's your chance!" Yang said, then grabbed my arm and lifted me up.
"Wait! What are you doing?!" I asked.
The girl looks over her book to see me unsuccessfully struggling against Yang's grip as she leads me over to her spot before letting go.
Yang was singing. "Hel-looooo! I believe you two may know each other?"
"Aren't you... that girl that exploded?" She asked.
"Uh, yeah! My name's Ruby! But you can just call me Crater... " I said, smiling embarrassingly. " Actually, you can just call me Ruby."
The girl went back to her book. "Okay."
Yang was whispering to me. "What are you doing?"
I was whispering back. "I don't know - help me! Then I go back to smiling."
"So... What's your name?" Yang asked.
The girl was sighing as she's distracted yet again. "Blake."
"Well, Blake, I'm Yang, Ruby's older sister! I like your bow!" Yang said.
Blake was irritated. "Thanks!"
"It goes great with your... pajamas!" Yang said.
"Right..." Blake replied.
"Nice night, don't you think?" Yang asked as I laughed uncomfortably
"Yes - it's lovely! Almost as lovely as this book!" I and Yang stand there. "That I will continue to read." I and Yang continue standing. "As soon as you leave!"
"Yeah, this girl's a lost cause." Yang said to me.
"What's it about?" I asked Blake.
Blake was surprised. "Huh?"
"Your book. Does it have a name?" I asked.
"Well... i-it's about a man with two souls, each fighting for control over his body." Blake explained.
"Oh, yeah... That's really lovely!" Yang said sarcastically.
"I love books. Yang used to read to me every night before bed. Stories of heroes and monsters... They're one of the reasons I want to be a Huntress!" I said.
Blake was laughing a little. "And why is that? Hoping you'll live happily ever after?"
"Well, I'm hoping we all will. As a girl, I wanted to be just like those heroes in the books... Someone who fought for what was right and protected people who couldn't protect themselves!" I said.
"That's... very ambitious for a child." Blake said, but her smile turned into a frown. "Unfortunately, the real world isn't the same as a fairy tale."
Well, that's why we're here! To make it better. I replied.
"Oh, I am so proud of my baby sister! Yang said as she hugged me into the air.
I was kicking out. "Cut it out!" Then our forced sisterly bonding evolves into a dust cloud of fighting limbs and flying stars.
Blake was laughing slightly. "Well, Ruby, Yang, it's a pleasure to ha-"
Weiss storming onto the scene in her own pajamas as I trapped Yang's leg. What in the world is going on over here?! Don't you realize some of us are trying to sleep?
Oh, not you again! Both Weiss and Yang said at the same time.
"Shh! Guys, she's right! People are trying to sleep! I said
"Oh, now you're on my side!" Weiss yelled.
"I was always on your side!" I said.
"Yeah, what's your problem with my sister? She's only trying to be nice!"
"She's a hazard to my heal..."
Then, Weiss was interrupted by a very loud roar that shocked the ground and woke up everyone
"SKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOONNNNGGKK
"What was that?" I asked Yang a bit scared.
"I don't know." Yang answered.
"Guys, look." Blake said.
We all looked up to the giant windows, as did everyone else do, and we saw a flock of birds flying out of a certain area.
"You think that is where it came from?" Jaune asked with a tone of fear in his voice.
"I think so, but I think we should all go to bed." I said.
Everyone agreed and went to their sleeping bags.
'I wonder what that was.' I thought as I then went to sleep.
