No One's Pov
The opening ends to a character's eyes wearily opening and closing before waking up fully and seeing Nora Valkyrie fill their view.
"Wake up, lazy butt!." Nora yelled as she dashed to the side.
Lie Ren gets up with a groan as Nora hounds him.
Nora was singing. "It's morning! It's morning! It's morning! It's morning!"
Lie Ren sighs again, and the scene changes to him brushing his teeth in the restroom while Nora continues to talk.
"I can't believe we've been at Beacon for a full twenty-four hours! Not that I thought we'd get kicked out or anything, I mean, you're the perfect student, and I'm... well, I'm me! But it's just crazy, you know?" Nora asked.
The scene changes to the ballroom, where the two are readying themselves. Nora is brushing her hair and still chattering while Ren is tightening the strings on his sleeping bag.
"We've been friends for soooooooo long! What are the odds we'd still be together? Well, not "together-together..." Not that I'm not saying that you're not handsome; you are handsome, but that'd just be weird, right?" Nora asked again.
The scene changes again as the two are in the middle of eating their breakfast, Nora having a pancake hanging from her mouth as she is still talking.
Nora muffled through her food. "Right! What was I thinking? But still, I hope we end up on the same team together!" Then she slurps up the rest of her pancake. "Oohhhh! We should come up with some sort of plan to make sure we end up on the same team together! What if we bribe the headmaster? No, that won't work. He has the school."
The scene changes again as the two are readying themselves in the locker room, Ren loading StormFlower and Nora still talking.
"I know! We'll have some sort of signal! Like a distress signal!" Then Nora gasps. "A secret signal so we can find each other in the forest! Can you imitate a sloth?"
Ren finally replies, "Nora?"
"Yes, Ren?" Nora asked.
Ren was sheathing his weapons in his sleeves. "I don't think sloths make a lot of noise."
Nora thinks about this for a moment. "That's why it's perfect! No one will suspect we're working together!"
Ren was smiling and shutting his locker. "Come on, Nora, let's go."
"Not "together-together..." Nora giggles.
Ren heads out while a skipping Nora follows, passing Ruby Rose and Yang Xiao Long as they are busy readying themselves.
"Wonder what those two are so worked up about?" Ruby asked.
"Oh, who knows? So, you seem awfully chipper this morning!" Yang said.
"Yep! No more awkward small talk or "getting-to-know-you" stuff. Today, I get to let my sweetheart do the talking." Ruby said as she stroked Crescent Rose as she sighed happily.
Yang: Well, remember, Ruby, you're not the only one going through initiation. If you wanna grow up, you're gonna have to meet new people and learn to work together.
Ruby sighs in frustration. "You sound like Dad!" Then shoves her weapon into the locker. "Okay, first of all: What does meeting new people have to do with fighting? And secondly: I don't need people to help me grow up! I drink milk!
"But what about when we form teams?"
Ruby was suddenly nervous. "Um, I don't know, I... I'll just be on your team or something…"
Yang brought her hair around her shoulder and stroked it . "Maybe you should try being on someone else's team?"
"My dear sister Yang, are you implying that you do not wish to be on the same team as me?" Ruby asked.
"What? No! Of course I do! I just thought... I don't know, maybe it would help you... break out of your shell!" Yang answered.
"What the-?! I don't need to 'break out of my shell'! That's absolutely, " Ruby started to say, but Jaune cut her off.
"Ridiculous!" Jaune suddenly walked in between the sisters, holding a map and looking lost. "There's no way I put my gear in locker 636 yesterday! I would've remembered having to count that high! Why does this have to happen today?"
Jaune passes Weiss Schnee and Pyrrha Nikos as they ready themselves at their lockers.
"So, Pyrrha, have you given any thought to whose team you'd like to be on? I'm sure everyone must be eager to unite with such a strong, well-known individual such as yourself!" Weiss said.
"Hmm... I'm not quite sure. I was planning on letting the chips fall where they may." Pyrrha replied.
"Well... I was thinking maybe we could be on a team together." Weiss suggested.
"Well, that sounds grand!" Pyrrha replied.
"Great!" Weiss said.
The background disappears into a thundercloud as Weiss adopts a scheming pose and manic smile in her head.
'This will be perfect! The smartest girl in class combined with the strongest girl in class! Together, we will be unstoppable! I can see it now! We'll be popular! We'll be celebrities! We'll get perfect grades! Nothing can come between us now!' Weiss thought
Jaune was coming between them and interrupting Weiss' evil train of thought. " You know what else is great? Me. Jaune Arc. Nice to meet you."
Weiss was irritated. "You again?"
Pyrrha then hurriedly, letting herself be seen. "Nice to meet you, Jaune!"
"Yeah, yeah. " Jaune said as he pushed Pyrrha aside and talked to Weiss, posing slightly. "So, Weiss couldn't help but overhear your fondness of me the other day."
"Oh, you've got to be kidding me!" Weiss said.
"Don't worry! There's no need to be embarrassed! So, I've been hearing rumors about teams! I was thinking you and me would make a good one! What do you say?"
"Actually, I think the teams are comprised of four students each, so Pyrrha informed getting Jaune's attention.
"You don't say." Jaune said advances on his new target. "Well, hot stuff, play your cards right, and maybe you could join up with the winning team."
Weiss then separates the two. "Jaune, is it? Do you have any idea who you're talking to?"
"Not in the slightest, snow angel." Jaune answered.
"This is Pyrrha." Weiss introduced Pyrrha.
"Hello again!" Pyrrha greeted.
"Pyrrha graduated top of her class at Sanctum!" Weiss said.
"Never heard of it." Jaune replied.
Weiss scoffs. "She's won the Mistral Region Tournaments four years in a row! A new record!"
"The what?" Jaune asked.
Weiss was waving her arms rapidly in anger. She's on the front of every Pumpkin Pete's Marshmallow Flakes box!"
Jaune then gasps suddenly. "That's you?!" He asked as the design of the cereal box in question is seen with Pyrrha's smiling face on it. "But they only do that for star athletes and cartoon characters!:
"Yeah, it was pretty cool. Sadly, the cereal isn't very good for you." Pyrrha explained.
Weiss then appears the box design crumbles behind them. "So, after hearing all of this, do you really think you're in a position to ask her to be on your team?"
"I guess not... Sorry…" Jaune said, hanging his head.
"Actually, Jaune, I think you'd make a great leader!" Pyrrha stated.
Jaune was immediately brightening back up. "D'oh, stop it!"
"Seriously, please stop it. This kind of behavior should not be encouraged!" Weiss retorted.
"Sounds like Pyrrha's on board for Team Jaune. Spots are filling up quickly! Now, I'm not supposed to do this, but maybe I could pull some strings and find a place for you. What do you say?" Jaune asked.
"All right, that's a bit too close! Pyrrha, a little help, please?!" Weiss asked for help.
Jaune looks back just in time to see Miló strike him, sending the would-be leader flying off the screen.
"I'm sorry!"
An announcement plays on the intercom system.
Glynda (voice only): "Would all first-year students please report to Beacon Cliff for initiation? Again, all first-year students report to Beacon Cliff immediately."
Weiss passes Jaune as he hangs from the wall of a locker on her way out. Pyrrha follows her, grabbing her spear and dropping Jaune to the ground.
"It was nice meeting you!" Pyrrha said
Jaune was slumping against the locker. "Likewise…"
"Having some trouble there, lady-killer?" Yang asked as she and Ruby approached.
"I don't understand. My dad said all women look for is confidence! Where did I go wrong? Jaune asked as he accepted Ruby's offered hand and used her to lift himself back up.
"Snow Angel" probably wasn't the best start." Yang answered.
"Come on, Jaune, let's go." Ruby said as she led Jaune out of the locker room by supporting him and his damaged self-esteem.
Kanji's pov
I was walking through the Emerald Forest armed with a yumi bow and a quiver. The yumi can transform into a naginata and a kusarigama I found in the woods. Then I was met with multiple Beowolves all surrounding me I channeled my aura and stared directly into the eyes of the Beowolves then I let out a roar as they fled into the Forest, 'thought so' I thought and tried to find a good start to continue my free-run. I found a tree with a slanted trunk going up and ran up to continue my free-run. After a while, I made it to the ruins of the forest temple. I took a look at the 'relics' which were just chess pieces. I took a seat in the middle and meditated, channeling my aura.
No One's Pov
From the forest, Yang Xiao Long and Blake Belladonna step out into a clearing that reveals the circular stone temple, broken and decrepit, but for the platforms around its inside, holding several black and gold objects.
"Think this is it?" Yang
In response, Blake gives Yang an incredulous look and heads down the hill, her partner following, but she stops walking as Yang notices.
What's up?" Yang asked.
"I sense a strong Aura coming from the direction we're going." Blake answered.
"Let's check it out." Yang said.
"That may not be a good idea." Blake retorted.
"It's not like it's a monster or something," Yang replied
"The Aura is definitely strong here."
They walked down with their weapons ready but were surprised to find A boy dressed in a black tail style jacket with a long sleeve with open hem cuffs a black short sleeve shirt with a brown chest holster and brown belt around his black pants and wearing black high boots he just sitting in the center. He had a black hood on, and his head was down, so they couldn't see his face but what got Blake's attention was his back which had his back were dorsal plates that ran all the way down to his long reptile-like tail.
"Hey, is this the forest temple?" Yang asked, but the boy just continued to sit there.
"Hello!?" Yang raised her voice this time, and it seemed to get to Kanji. He opened his eyes and lost focus. Blake could feel the Aura around disappear. Kanji was rubbing his head, trying to stand up. He began to say, "I'm sorry I, I couldn't hear you. I was so focused I , uhh, just give me a sec." he got a headache from the quick interruption.
"You ok?" Yang asked.
"Yeah, just, I, my head just hurts it'll go away just give it some time"
"Was that your Aura?" Blake asked.
"Yes, I like my privacy, and I was meditating," Kanji answered. "So who are you two?"
"Yang," Yang introduced herself as Blake did the same.
"So, is this the temple?" Yang asked once more.
"I think so ,the so-called 'relics' are just chess pieces," Kanji said.
Yang walked up to them and saw they were black and gold. Kanji simply leaned against a pillar and waited for them to choose. With some time, Yang finally chose the golden little pony piece, and Blake seemed to agree with her choice.
"You gonna pick one Kanji?" Yang asked
"I'm not a student here, I was just passing through." Kanji answered.
After a loud scream was heard from throughout the forest, Yang responded with "some girl's in trouble! Blake, did you hear that!?" She asked again "Blake did you hear that? What should we do?" Then Ruby came out falling out of the sky screaming."Had up!"
Then Jaune also came out of nowhere but in a different direction and collided with Ruby, and the two went into the tree line.
"Oohhhh... What was that?" Ruby asked as the dizziness passes when she shakes her head.
"Eh-hem!" Ruby looks up to see Jaune hanging upside-down in a tree branch above her. "Hey, Ruby…"
"Did your sister just fall out of the sky?" Blake asked
"I…." Yang starts to say but Before she can continue, several crashing noises are heard in the forest ahead of them, and an Ursa comes out, claws swiping, just as a pink blast of energy hits it in the back and it crashes to the ground, depositing its rider.
"YEEEE-HAAAAW!" Nora yelled and rolled off of the creature's back, then got up and groaned, saddened. "Awwww... It's broken." She dashes onto its neck and observes the carcass as Ren comes up behind her.
Ren was panting and leaning on the monster. "Nora! Please... Don't ever do that again." He looks up again and notices by the pink dotted outline of where his partner should be that Nora has run off again and looks around frantically.
Nora was now in the Temple, staring at a golden rook relic. "Oooohh…" suddenly grabs it, an animation of stars and her hammer symbol playing in the pink background as she dances and sings with the chess piece. "I'm queen of the castle! I'm queen of the castle!"
"Nora!" Ren shouted.
Nora stops dancing with the rook on her head, then salutes, dropping the relic into her hand. "Coming, Ren!" Nora said as she skipped off to her friend.
"Did that girl just ride in on an Ursa?" Blake asked.
"I…" Yang started to say but she is interrupted once more as a screech is heard from their right, and Pyrrha Nikos comes onto the scene as the scorpion creature uproots entire trees in its chase after her. Pyrrha narrowly dodges its giant claws and keeps on running.
"Jaune!" Pyrrha called out.
"Pyrrha!" Jaune did the same.
Ruby then stood up, looking at the monster below. " Whoa!' she yelled and started running off of the branch and landing in a roll.
Jaune was whining."Ruby!"
Ruby stands up, back on the ground, and she notices Kanji.
"You." Ruby said.
"Well, hello there." Kanji replied.
"Ruby!" Yang called out.
Ruby was excited. "Yang!" She raises her arms as if to give her sister a hug.
"Nora!" She shouted as she came between the two and knocked them off-balance in surprise.
The scorpion Grimm continues to follow Pyrrha as she runs.
"Did she just run all the way here with a Death Stalker on her tail?"
Yang was getting angrier until she growls and erupts in a small burst of fire, eyes flashing red. "I can't take it anymore! Can everyone just chill out for two seconds before something crazy happens again?!"
The tick-tock of a clock counts down the two seconds of Yang cooling down, Ren running over to a ditzy Nora, and Blake and Ruby looking up with Kanji also looking up
"Umm... Yang?" Ruby tugs on her sister's sleeve and points.
Up above, Weiss is revealed to be hanging on a talon the size of her entire body that belongs to a gigantic Nevermore.
Weiss was calling down to Ruby. "How could you leave me?!"
Rub was shouting up at Weiss. "I said "jump"!
"She's gonna fall." Blake said.
"Do a flip!" Kanji shouted jokingly.
"She'll be fine." Ruby replied.
"She's falling." Ren said.
Jaune is finally out of the tree, panting until he looks up and grins at the sight of Weiss falling through the air, giving him the opportunity to jump off the branch with arms outstretched and catch her in a slowed-down moment.
Jaune then smiles at Weiss. "Just... dropping in?"
Weiss is speechless... and Jaune realizes why when they both look down.
"Oh, God." They hang on to each other wide-eyed as their moment of suspension ends, their weapons flying behind them. "Oh, noooooooo- Oomph!
Jaune does a faceplant into the dirt, limbs splayed out, and serves as the perfect landing spot for Weiss as she falls into a seated position on his body.
"My hero." Weiss mockingly said.
Jaune was groaning. "My back…"
The Death Stalker is still hunting Pyrrha, but she manages to land on her side at the feet of the heroes.
"Great! The gang's all here! Now we can die together!" Yang sarcastically said.
"Not if I can help it!" Ruby replies and sounds a battle cry and rushes towards the Grimm.
"Ruby, wait!" Yang called out.
Ruby, still screaming, fires Crescent Rose and charges at the oncoming Death Stalker. When the two meet, the Grimm swipes Ruby away, and she is knocked back.
Ruby was getting up slowly. "D-Do-Don't worry! It's totally fine!"
Ruby turns back to the monster and shoots it in the skull, running away from it and sheathing her scythe as the Death Stalker now goes after her.
Yang was running forward. " Ruby!"
Ruby rushes towards Yang, but the Nevermore caws above them, flapping its wings and releasing lines of sharpened feathers with points that catch on Ruby's cape and prevent Yang from reaching her.
"Ruby, get out of there!" Yang shouted.
Ruby was struggling with the cloak. "I'm trying!"
The Death Stalker approaches, raising its golden stinger above a scared Ruby and heading down on the helpless girl.
Yang was reaching out in vain. "Ruby!"
Then a blue blast hit The Death Stalker knocking it back. A white blur races past Yang and reaches the stinger just as it's about to pierce Ruby.
"You are so childish!" A voice called out.
Ruby opens her eyes to the sight of the stinger encased in ice and lowers her arms from their futile position over her head as she stares at her savior.
"Weiss...?" Ruby asked.
Weiss continues to berate Ruby as she removes Myrtenaster from the ice. "And dim-witted, and hyperactive, and don't even get me started on your fighting style. And I suppose I can be a bit... difficult... but if we're going to do this, we're going to have to do this together. So if you quit trying to show off, I'll be... nicer."
"I'm not trying to show off. I want you to know I can do this,"Ruby replied.
"You're fine." Weiss said as she walked away.
Ruby breathes a sigh of relief, then closes her eyes and clasps her hands as she gratefully whispers "Normal knees…" She gets up and stares at the Death Stalker as it struggles to escape with its tail trapped in the ice. " Whoa!"
Yang rushes up to Ruby and gives her a hug, which Ruby grunts at upon receiving.
"So happy you're okay!" Yang said as the two stared at each other for a moment, then looked up at the Nevermore still flying overhead and roaring.
"Guys? That thing's circling back! What are we gonna do?" Jaune asked.
"Look, there's no sense in dilly-dallying. Our objective is right in front of us." The heroes stare at the relics.
"She's right. Our mission is to grab an artifact and make it back to the Cliffs." Wiess said as Ruby nodded at her There's no point in fighting these things.
"Run and live - that's an idea I can get behind!"Jaune said.
Ruby goes over and grabs a gold knight identical to the one Yang picked out, and Jaune takes hold of a gold rook that is similar to Nora and Ren's piece, smiling at each other The Death Stalker continues to fight its bonds, cracking the ice a little in the process.
"Time we left!" Ren said.
"Right." Ruby said waves to the others." Let's go!" Then she goes forward with everyone following except for a smiling Yang and Blake as the latter approaches her partner.
"What is it?" Blake asked.
Yang was staring proudly at Ruby as she leaped on a boulder and motioned the group onward. "Nothing... '' She then moves on as Blake smiles in realization - possibly towards the audience - and leaves as well but sees Kanji standing his ground.
"Are you coming?" Blake asked as Kanji took out his katana.
"I'll buy you some time now, go." Kanji answered.
A while after they left, the death stalker broke free and tried to attack Kanji, who gave it a deep stare, and it began to go in the direction the others went.
'Ah great, there's gonna need help,' Kanji thought as he grabbed a black pawn piece and ran in the direction of the others.
He couldn't keep up with the death stalker and it soon left his sight. After a long time of running and hearing buildings fall he finally made it to to the cliff and found Jaune, Ren, Nora, and Phyrra watching Ruby, Weiss, Blake and Yang try to take down the Nevermore. Kanji saw the plan they had and saw how Ruby was using too much ammo for it to succeed. He took out a blue marked collapsible arrow and held it up until he shone yellow he drew with his bow and took aim. "You're never gonna make that shot, even if you had a rifle!" Jaune said,"He's right, " Ren supported.
Kanji simply keepted aiming and focused on where Ruby would stop. She ran out of ammo three-fourths of the way up the cliff. 'There,' Kanji thought and let go of the arrow that went speeding towards the Nevermore. It left a trail of yellow and hit directly on the center of the back of the blade on Crescent Rose. That gave Ruby the boost she needed, and she landed on top of the cliff while the Nevermore's body and head fell down. "Wow," was all Jaune said as he saw the Nevermore dead.
They all headed up the cliff, and when they all got up, Blake asked, "What made you come?"
Kanji responded with, "I saw the death stalker make its way to you guys. I couldn't keep up with it, but luckily, I got here in time to help with the Nevermore."
"And how exactly did you help?" Weiss asked.
"When I got here, I saw your plan in action, I also saw Ruby use too much ammo at the beginning, giving her speed, but it also died out at the end." Kanji answered.
"soo?" Yang questioned.
"So that arrow I shot gave Ruby the needed boost to finish the job." Ricky grew annoyed with the girls and growl at them, causing all of them to move back a little except Ruby, who walked up to him and held out her arm
"Thanks, and thank you for saving my life. My name is Ruby. What is your name," she said.
Kanji looked down but didn't move his head. With his hood still on, no one could see his face. He walked away from them all with his still on his guard to keep them away, then he walked up to Ruby.
"My name is Kanji." Kanji introduced himself.
Timeskip.
"Russel Thrush. Cardin Winchester. Dove Bronzewing. Sky Lark." Ozpin said as the screen of the auditorium shows each of their profiles as the boys are lined up for the applauding audience to see as Ozpin continues. " The four of you retrieved the black bishop pieces. From this day forward, you will work together as Team CRDL, led by... Cardin Winchester!"
The audience gives one more wave of ovation, while four students walk up to the stage to take their places in front of the headmaster as their faces fill the screen. I looked and saw Kanji watching from the corner with his hood on his face.
"Jaune Arc. Lie Ren. Pyrrha Nikos. Nora Valkyrie. The four of you retrieved the white rook pieces. From this day forward, you will work together as Team JNPR." Ozpin said
Amid the clapping, Nora laughs and gives Ren a hug.
"Led by... Jaune Arc!" Ozpin added.
"Huh? L-Led by...?" Jaune asked.
"Congratulations, young man." Ozpin, congrat.
A grinning Pyrrha offers a friendly shoulder bump to Jaune, but her "fine leader" is knocked over and falls to his butt in front of the laughing audience.
" Blake Belladonna. Ruby Rose. Weiss Schnee. Yang Xiao Long." Ozpin said, He motions us over as we stand before him. "The four of you retrieved the white knight pieces. From this day forward, you will work together as Team RWBY. Led by... Ruby Rose!"
Weiss looks to her right, surprised. Ruby was obviously in shock as Yang went over to hug me.
"I'm so proud of you!" Yang said.
"Finally, we don't take people who haven't enrolled, but this is a most unusual circumstance since this boy's skill is remarkable." Ozpin said.
Then Ozpin showed chips of Kanji battling some Beowolves, even scaring some off with a single look and him blasting the Death Stalker.
"May the boy known as Kanji Hattori step forward, please." Ozpin said as the audience were talking quietly to themselves.
"Kanji you may not have enrolled in Beacon but you did grab the black pawn piece Ozpin then moved his head up "I will put you as a fifth member of one of the current teams, the name won't change but you will be a full member."
"Which team?" Kanji asked
"'Kanji, you are to become a fifth member of team RWBY. He will be part of the team for the four years at Beacon Academy and will graduate as part of team RWBY. He will take part in team training, practice, and study. A separate guest room will be his living quarters for the time he is at Beacon." Professor Ozpin said. "Now, may you remove your hood now, please."
Kanji nodded and he pulled back his hood and they were all surprised he was young boy perhaps the same age as Ruby he had pale skin, black hair and amber eyes but what surprising is on the boy's neck were gills then he slam down his tail
"I am Kanji Hattori of the Atoll Islands." Kanji introduced himself.
Ozpin amid the last round of cheers. " It looks like things are shaping up to be an... interesting year."
