No One's Pov

The streets of Vale are decorated in time for the Vytal Festival. Red, yellow, and green streamers and balloons are proudly on display, and Team RWBY and Kanji are strolling through it all with an awed Weiss Schnee in the front. A sign is being put up by the elderly Shopkeep that reads in bright red letters, "WELCOME TO VALE!" for all the foreign newcomers from their respective kingdoms of Remnant.

Weiss stops and raises her arms in amazement. "The Vytal Festival! Oh, this is absolutely wonderful!"

Ruby: I don't think I've ever seen you smile this much, Weiss." She said, then frowned a little. "It's kinda weirding me out…"

"You're not the only one." Kanji replied.

Weiss turns to Ruby. "How could you not smile? A festival dedicated to the cultures of the world! There will be dances! Parades! A tournament! Oh, the amount of planning and organization that goes into this event is simply breathtaking!" She said as they continued walking.

Yang sighs and crosses her arms. "You really know how to take a good thing and make it sound boring."

"Quiet, you!" Weiss ordered.

Remind me again why we're spending our Friday afternoon visiting the stupid docks?" Yang asked as they stopped near the docks, and the sounds of foghorns were heard.

Ruby was covering her nose. "Ugh, they smell like fish!"

"Meh, you get used to it after a while…" Kanji said smiling, as the docks reminded him of home. The three girls looked toward the Titan faunus with a sweatdrop. "What?" he asked, expecting a response he never got.

"I've heard that students visiting from Vacuo will be arriving by ship today. And, as a representative of Beacon, I feel as though it is my solemn duty to welcome them to this fine kingdom!" Weiss informed.

"She wants to spy on them so she'll have the upper hand in the tournament." Blake said as Weiss started walking away again.

Weiss scoffs. "You can't prove that!"

Ruby turns her head to the right

"Whoa." The team looks at a shattered window down the street and a door full of yellow caution tape of the Vale Police Force before walking over to the detective in front, who is writing on his pad. " What happened here?"

"Robbery. Second Dust shop to be hit this week. This place is turning into a jungle." Detective 1 answered as he walked over to his partner.

Yang sighs sadly. "That's terrible."

"They left all the money again." One of the detectives said.

Ruby turns her head when she hears this. "Huh?"

"Yeah, it just doesn't make a lick of sense. Who needs that much, Dust?" Detective 1 asked.

"I don't know, an army?" His partner replied with a question.

"You thinking the White Fang?" Detective 1 suggested

Detective 2 then removes his sunglasses. "Yeah, I'm thinking we don't get paid enough."

"Hmph! The White Fang." Weiss scoffs, crossing her arms and pointing her nose in the air with her eyes closed. "What an awful bunch of degenerates!"

"What's your problem?" Blake asked.

Weiss turned to her. "My problem? I simply don't care for the criminally insane."

"The White Fang is hardly a bunch of psychopaths." Blake said, crossing her arms, getting serious. "They're a collection of misguided Faunus."

"Misguided? They want to wipe humanity off the face of the planet!" Weiss retorted.

"So then they're very misguided. Either way, it doesn't explain why they would rob a dust shop in the middle of downtown Vale!" Blake replied.

"Hmm... Blake's got a point. Besides, the police never caught that Torchwick guy I

Kanji and I ran into a few months ago... Maybe it was him." Ruby suggested.

"That still doesn't change the fact that the White Fang are a bunch of scum." Weiss said Blake's growing anger while Kanji was starting to get pissed. "Those Faunus only know how to lie, cheat, and steal."

"That's not necessarily true…" Yang commented.

"Hey, stop that Faunus!" A voice called out.

As Kanji and the team overhears the cry for help and rush over to investigate, a Faunus with a golden monkey tail named Sun Wukong is seen running down the length of the boat and leaping on to the edge as the two sailors are about to apprehend him.

Sun was looking back at his pursuers."Thanks for the ride, guys! Haha!" He jumps off and hits the dock running.

"You no-good stowaway!" One of the sailors said.

Sun was using his tail to hang on a lamppost while he peels back a banana. "Hey! A no-good stowaway would've been caught! I'm a great stowaway! "He said. Before he eats, one of the detectives down below throws a stone at him to get his attention.

"Hey! Get down from there this instant!" The detective ordered.

Sun drops the banana peel on the detective's face, who growls in return. The monkey-like Faunus twirls up to crouch on the lamppost, laughs in amusement, and proceeds to leap off and run away from the detectives. As he runs past Team RWBY, he winks at an astonished Blake in slow motion before time speeds up again, and he continues to be chased by the officers.

"Well, Weiss, you wanted to see the competition, and there it goes…" Yang said as she watched the Faunus get farther and farther away

Weiss then was holding up a finger. "Quick! We have to observe him!"

Weiss, Yang, Ruby, Kanji give chase. Blake stands still, lost in thought, then comes back to reality and follows her friends. The team rounds the next corner, but then Weiss bumps into someone and trips. She looks up only to see Sun jump on to a building and disappear from her view.

"No, he got away!" Weiss said.

"Uhh... Weiss?" Yang asked as she pointed strangely at the girl underneath her teammate.

Weiss finally sees that she fell on a smiling girl, which startles the heiress, and she hastily gets up.

The girl was still down on the ground, smiling widely. "Sal-u-ta-tions!"

"Um... hello." Ruby said.

"Are you... okay?" Yang asked.

"I'm wonderful! Thank you for asking." The girl answered.

"Do you... wanna get up?" Yang asked as the team looked at each other in bewilderment before Yang spoke up again

The girl thinks about this for a moment. "Yes!" she said, then leaps back on her feet while the team steps back a little. "My name is Penny! It's a pleasure to meet you!"

"Hi Penny. I'm Ruby." Ruby said.

"I'm Weiss." Weiss introduced herself.

"Blake." Blake said.

"Are you sure you didn't hit your head?" Yang asked, but Blake hit her side. "Oh, I'm Yang."

"Kanji." Kanji said.

"It's a pleasure to meet you!" Penny replied.

"You already said that." Weiss said

Penny then pauses again. "So I did!"

"Well, sorry for running into you!" Weiss said, then they turn around and start walking away.

Ruby was waving her arm. "Take care, friend!"

"She was... weird…" Yang said when they get far enough away from a startled Penny.

Weiss was looking to her right. "Now, where did that Faunus riff-raff run off to?"

Penny suddenly appeared in front of a surprised Weiss. "What did you call me?"

"Oh, I'm really sorry, I definitely didn't think you heard me!" Yang said as Weiss looked back and forth in shock, and Yang looked apologetic

"No, not you." Penny said as she walked through the group and leaned her head down to Ruby. "You!"

Ruby was startled. "Me? I-I don't know. I, what I, um, uh…"

"You called me 'friend'! Am I really your friend?" Penny asked.

"Uuuum…" Ruby started to say she looked over Penny's shoulder while her teammate's motion to deny her with Kanji just shrugged his shoulders. "Y-Yeah, sure! Why not?"

Then Ruby's teammates comically faint while Kanji just shrugged his shoulders, but Penny looks overjoyed and laughs. "Sen-sational! We can paint our nails, try on clothes, and talk about cute boys!"

Ruby was groaning to Weiss as she brushed herself off. "Oh, is this what it was like when you met me?"

"No - she seems far more coordinated." Weiss answered.

"So... what are you doing in Vale?" Yang asked.

"I'm here to fight in the tournament." Penny answered.

"Wait, you're fighting in the tournament?" Weiss asked.

"I'm combat ready!" Penny said, saluting.

"Forgive me, but you hardly look the part." Weiss said.

"Says the girl wearing a dress." Blake retorted.

" It's a combat skirt!" Weiss remarked

Then Ruby speeds over to Weiss' side

"Yeah!" Weiss holds out her hand, and Ruby low-fives it.

Then Weiss had a realization hitting her. "Wait a minute." She then walks over to Penny and grabs her by the shoulders. "If you're here for the tournament, does that mean you know that monkey-tailed... rapscallion?"

"The who...?" Penny asked.

Weiss then was holding up a poor drawing of the criminal-in-question "The filthy Faunus from the boat!"

"Your drawing skills suck Weiss." Kanji remarks.

"Why do you keep saying that?!" Blake yelled.

Weiss turns her attention from Penny to Blake. "Huh?"

Blake was walking over to Weiss, angry. "Stop calling him a rapscallion! Stop calling him a degenerate! He's a person!"

"Oh, I'm sorry." Weiss then releases Penny and motions to objects around her. "Would you like me to stop referring to the trash can as a trash can? Or this lamppost as a lamppost?"

"Stop it!" Blake yelled.

"Stop what?" Weiss asked. "He clearly broke the law. Give him time; he'll probably join up with those other Faunus in the White Fang!"

Blake growls, clenching her fist. " You ignorant little brat!"

Weiss looks offended, but when Blake walks away, she follows. "How dare you talk to me like that! I am your teammate!"

"You are a judgmental little girl." Blake said.

"What in the world makes you say that?" Weiss asked.

"The mere fact that you would sort that Faunus boy with a terrorist group solely based on his species makes you just as much of a scoundrel as you believe him to be!" Blake explained.

Yang was sliding up to Ruby, looking uncomfortable. "Um, I think we should probably go…"

Penny then pops up behind Ruby, smiling. "Where are we going?"

"So you admit it! The White Fang is just a radical group of terrorists!" Weiss yelled

"That's not what I meant, and you know it!" Blake retorted.

Kanji's pov

They argued all the way back to Beacon, and then I headed for his dorm and went to bed the following morning. I learned that Blake had run away. Now me, Weiss, Yang, and Ruby were walking through the empty streets of Vale.

"She's been gone all weekend…" Ruby said.

"Blake's a big girl, I'm sure she can handle herself!" Weiss commented.

"Weiss, come on. She's one of our teammates." Yang retorted.

"Is she? We all heard what she said!" Weiss said.

"Weiss." Ruby said

"Maybe she is. Maybe she isn't. Either way, she's missing, and we need to find her!" Yang replied.

"A member of the White Fang! Right underneath our noses!" Weiss said

I had enough of Weiss's mouth and I slammed my tail down "Can you shut the fuck up?" They all stopped to face hme

"Excuse me!?" Weiss said.

"No, all you've been doing ever since Blake left is being a bitch and complaining, and I'm sick of it. You don't even know if she is part of the white fang." I said in anger.

"Don't tell me you're defending them too?" Weiss asked.

"I'm not defending the white fang . I could care less about humanity or the Faunus. I'm defending Blake, our teammate." I answered.

"Well, I'm sorry if I have trust issues with the Faunus, if I had to live through a war between them and my family!" Weiss retorted.

"I had to go through war too, and guess what my family lost, and I'm a Human mutated by that stupid Payroll prototype bomb retorted with anger.

Weiss stepped back, and I took off my hood and stared at her.

"Don't believe me, Schnee many don't because I'm different, because I'm not normal, do you know just how bad it is to not only be discriminated against by others, but by both Humans and Faunuses do you know what happens when everything you knew and hold dear is taken from you my parents was all I have and they are dead because they support the Faunus struggle and now I am bond to something far more powerful than you and everyone here can only hope to comprehend so complain all you want about your 'daddy issues' but just know there are people who have it worse, who don't have a dad at all, who don't have a family and they are also Faunus." I said, then I ran off to find Blake myself.
