It was New Year's Eve as Garrett was trying to convince Melony to join his team, since the max was now 6 as Melony thinks about it.
Luke, Shane, and the boys were preparing for the New Year's Eve party. It was going to be the second annual Royal Woods New Year's Rockin' Eve celebration, and tonight, the boys were dressing to impress.
"You girls have fun, we're staying here." Angry Luigi says.
"Come on, don't you want to have fun?" Willow asked.
"Nope, the 3 of us are good." Angry Luigi says
"I thought we were supposed to be siblings." Skara asked.
"Yeah, you wanted nothing to do with us, so you should have seen this coming." Alem tuber says.
"We're all going." Skylia says sternly. "The Parks have never been to anything like this."
"We're doomed." Angry Luigi says.
"They can go without us." Alem tuber says.
"Fine. But you'll regret missing out." Skylia left in a huff.
"That was disrespectful to both your mother and my dads." Willow says, going to pick up Hunter and Gus.
"We're not missing out. Honestly it's just a repeat. Stephen wins the baker award. Same old things" Alem tuber says.
"Gabriel has judged fairly this year." Emma says as Gilbert nodded.
Meanwhile, Kat and Ana smirked. "We're going to the ninja dragon ceremony in our clan." Kat says
"Year of the dragon?" Mona asked.
"Yeah, we get dragon dumpling challenges." Ana says.
"Even though Ana is a vegetarian, I've always lost." Kat says.
"So, these awards…tell us about them." Hal says, adjusting his bow tie.
"We always win. It's more around skills people care about like best singer, best movie star…" Luke says.
"I hope I win best basketball star. How come Metropolis doesn't have an awards show? You mean to tell me that Royal Woods is the only place with an awards show? Yeah, Metropolis sucks, now that I think about it." Hal says. "My future will be glorious…"
Hal's fantasy: "Okay, Butler, fill that hallway full of my statues." Hal says as the butler screamed with his bad back. He was doing it while carrying Hal on his back.
"Yep…I'm gonna love every minute of that…" Hal says.
"Diva Of The Year is mine." Carol says.
"Baker Of The Year is going to be mine. I know it…" Stephen says.
Meanwhile, there was a knock on the door.
"That must be the pizza I ordered." Emma says.
She goes to open the door only to see Atticus.
"Hey, guys, you wanna come to the Greendale parade?" He asked
"Yes." Angry Luigi says
"Yeah, we're not going." Alem tuber says.
"But it's a parade and Atticus was asked to be lead and center again." Angry Luigi says and runs after Atticus.
Alem tuber and Emma dressed up and left.
There was a lot of food at the Royal Woods party and the main attraction was Luke and his friends. And the awards as well.
Lucy began to eat some food as everyone was discussing their plans for the new year.
"I can just see it…" Oliver Queen says. "My name in lights on all the marquees in the city…Starring Oliver Queen. Ahhh…" He smiles thoughtfully.
Oliver Queen's fantasy: "Oh, my! Another Tony award?! And yet another Emmy? Oh, and three more Grammys?! And 4 more Oscars?! My, my, I need another room for all these awards!" He steps into another room full of Emmys, Tonys, Oscars, and Grammys.
Oliver Queen smiled dreamily.
"I could be the fastest candy stocker in Royal Woods…or even the most awesome candy maker…" Barry says.
Barry's fantasy: "I present to you all…Choco-Crunch-Coconutty Superchargers!" He says to potential candy buyers. "They'll give you one sweet burst of chocolate energy!"
Barry grinned, imagining it.
Sam was listening to music. Luna smiled at Sam.
"Did you hear that my mom is managing the Musibros?" Luna told her.
"I know they're going to win." Sam says.
"Can you believe that they're gonna be shooting a promotion commercial for the show? Here, tonight!" Luna says.
Sam squealed. "Oh. My. God! Awesome!"
Garth was daydreaming about having his own aquatic show.
"Oh, my God…Couldn't you see me on stage at SeaWorld? Or me doing my first show in Redshore City?!" Garth says.
Garth's fantasy: Garth is seen on the back of a dolphin, gliding along the entire Redshore City Theater pool, doing an array of aquatic tricks with his ocean friends, and ending the show by spelling his name with water. The crowd goes wild and Karen tosses him a big bouquet of flowers.
Garth smiled. "I love that…and Karen…" He blushed.
Soon, the boys go to film the commercial as they were the main attraction to All-Star Talent Showcase. Most of the promotional material was usually Luke, but now it's the 6 of them.
"Okay, it's me, Luke, Shane, Barry, Garth and Atticus" Hal says
"Uh, no. You have Oliver Queen up there. I'm just your roadie." Barry says.
"Wait, you're not in the All-Star Talent Showcase with us? But we worked so well together…" Hal says.
"Did you w-want me to?" Barry looked at them, confused.
"Shoot, there's all of us, plus Carter, dang it, that's 8. We did not think this through." Hal says as the others were watching Carter in his little reality, where he was running a bird sanctuary.
"Carter doesn't speak, dude." Barry says. "Let alone sing. Since when have you ever heard him sing or speak?"
"Point taken." Hal says.
"I'll be fine. Really." Barry says as he runs off. His friends feel bad.
"Guys, I don't want you to leave Barry out. He seemed to work so well with you." Atticus says.
"Really? But what about you? What will you do?" Garth asked.
"Don't worry about me. Worry about Barry." Atticus says. "Do the right thing. I think he deserves to be in the group a lot more than I do."
"But you're the main star. You've attracted the most hype!" Shane says.
"Yeah, but you'll live." Atticus says. "Part of fame is doing the right thing and doing it for the sake of inclusion sometimes."
They go to find Barry. "Barry, you're in." Luke says.
"R-Really?" Barry sniffed. Luke nodded.
"Now let's film us a commercial!" Hal says, lifting Barry up as a smile appears on his face.
"With the speediest star!" Oliver Queen says.
They go to do so, singing It's Gonna Be Me. The boys were showing amazing chemistry together.
Most people were betting on them to win as the others' teams couldn't dream of winning against this team.
After the commercial, Barry smiled. He had never felt more alive.
Meanwhile, in the Mushroom Kingdom, Penny was hanging out with the crew.
She had just seen the commercial. She sighed.
"Let's go to the Royal Woods party." Mona says.
"Nah." Wario says.
"He's right, maybe we should all go to the hospital and celebrate new years eve with Ashley." Penny says.
They arrive to see 5-Volt sniffing as she was being held by 7-Volt, who had rushed there from work, hence the reason he was still in his firefighting gear.
The others frowned seeing Ashley in her hospital bed.
"You came for me?" Ashley asked, stunned.
"Yeah, you're sick." Penny says.
Meanwhile "Wait if Atticus is with Luke then that means" Angry Luigi says as he and Emma turned around
"Must destroy Insanity." the robot copy says.
"A robot Atticus, not good. Run!" Angry Luigi says as he and Bill ran.
Robot Atticus gives chase
"Bill, any ideas?" Angry Luigi asked
"Let's lose him in the parade." Bill says as they jump on one of the Greendale parade floats.
"Now what?" Angry Luigi asked.
"I didn't think this through." Bill says as robot versions of Angry Luigi's idols came up.
"Run!" Angry Luigi says as he and Bill jumped to another parade float.
Emila was Annoyed by the parade and used a spell to cause the robots to shut down as fans cheered louder as Emila glared
"I'll turn the both of you into toads." Emila says.
Fans cheered, thinking it was part of the show as Emila chased the boys.
"Great, now Emila is after us. Let's get to Royal Woods and find Edric since everyone loved jumping on the Royal Woods bandwagon." Bill says, knowing Edric may calm her down.
The two ran past Edric, who was chatting with Emira and Amity.
"Your girlfriend is crazy. Really crazy." Bill says.
Edric manages to get Emila to a calm state of mind.
"I'm going home to work on my spells." Emila says and teleports home.
"Well, I think that's that. Hey look, the Spread here is better than the one in Greendale. They must really miss Savannah." Angry Luigi says as without Savannah, there were no bakeries left.
"So, you actually came after all." Willow says, holding hands with Hunter while sporting her forest green evening gown.
"Yeah, but we've had enough excitement. We should probably head back." Angry Luigi says.
"Please stay." Willow says.
"Fine." Angry Luigi says.
"I can't wait to get an award tonight." Barry says.
"Shhhh, Barry, Miss Charity is speaking!" Garth says.
"Ladies and gentlemen, we would like to thank you all for coming out tonight. This is our second year throwing a celebration this amazing, but the awards have been a yearly tradition." Charity says.
"So, without further ado, the first award is what Royal Woods calls The Royal Crown. This is presented to someone who showed lots of kindness toward others and has done their share of community service inside this wonderful community." Gabriel says. "This award is actually going to quite the newcomer, one that I have truly observed doing just that."
"This award is going to be presented to…Barry Allen!" Charity says.
"ME?!" Barry says. "Oh, my gosh!"
"Way to go, bro!" Hal says.
He goes to get his award. Barry then receives the award, hardly knowing what to think. He then went to his seat, smiling and shedding happy tears as Hal put an arm around him.
"Now, we're presenting the Stage Superstar award. But not just anyone can be eligible for this award. Would you care to go into detail, Gabriel?" Charity says.
"Of course. The requirements for this award is that the nominee must have acted in school, local theater, or both. And they must have been a stagehand in their first go-around at stage acting. Which was easy for tonight's recipient of this award." Gabriel says.
"The award goes to Oliver Queen!" Charity says.
"Oh, my…why, me? Oh, thank you, thank you, you're a wonderful audience!" Oliver Queen says as he goes on stage.
He accepted the trophy as people took pictures of him. Oliver Queen blew kisses as he walked offstage.
"Now, this one is a local favorite. Believe it or not, I'll be presenting this one myself." Gabriel says as he joins Charity on stage.
"Oh, I do know this one…the Baker's Dozen Digest Bakery Of The Year!" Charity says.
"Just as a reminder, the Baker Of The Year award will be presented later in the night. This is a local magazine that gives this award out each and every year to one lucky bakery." Gabriel says. "I had to talk to the editors and have three meetings about who should or could receive this."
Haiku wondered if it was for Stephen's other friends.
"This year, the editors were treated to quite the tour of this bakery that converted to solar power and all-natural ways of making sweets. It was quite amazing and it was wonderful seeing this bakery operate on such resources. So, this year's Baker's Dozen Digest Bakery Of The Year award is hereby presented to…the Meyers Family Bakery!" Gabriel says.
Stephen gasped. "Oh, my gosh!" He says. He had never seen his family bakery receive an honor this big before.
Everyone cheered as Jessica joined Stephen on stage.
Lucy looks at Haiku, who clapped for her aunt, uncle, and cousin.
There was a break as Oliver Queen and Barry were smiling widely as Lois' assistant clicked away on his camera.
"Olson! You were brought here to get some pictures! Now take good pictures of these boys!" Lois says. "Or I'll work you like a dog!"
"Wait, they live here now?" Hal asked.
"They're one of the many newspapers and news stations covering this event." Garth says.
"Oh, this is my good side, right here!" Oliver Queen says, posing for the cameras and flashing a smile.
Meanwhile, Melony was at home. She didn't plan on going out.
It seemed everybody was leaving Metropolis for this celebration. Maybe for good.
The next few awards were being presented.
"The next award is what many like to call the award of champions. But we just call it the Sporting Occasion award." Gabriel says. "We present this award to an athlete who is not only outstanding, but is also good at what they do and they exhibit uplifting behaviors towards their sports teams and peers."
"That award is going to Garrett Miller!" Charity says.
"While I am honored to take this award tonight, I met a worthy opponent in one hell of a basketball player the day after Christmas. Hal Jordan, would you join me on stage?" Garrett says.
Hal smiled as he came to the stage.
"Ladies and gentlemen, this is indeed a guy worthy of being called a machine!" Garrett says. "He wears many hats. Star quarterback, amazing point guard, People's Sexiest Man Alive…my God, the list can go on and on! I am not worthy enough to accept this award this year. It is my pleasure to bestow the Sporting Occasion award upon Hal Jordan! Because, dude, I am not worthy of an opponent like you!"
Garrett gives the trophy to Hal with a smile as his friends were cheering wildly for him.
Carol cheered as Hal smiled.
The next award being presented was for Movie Star Of The Year.
"This award is going to be awarded to Shane Loud for his impeccable roles in film this past year." Gabriel says. "From a swashbuckling sailor to a space captain, you played them all!"
"My gosh, what an honor! I've never won this award!" Shane said as he received it. "Thank you, Royal Woods!"
The next award was for Hero Team Of The Year. Which unexpectedly went to the Cosmic Buddies, who were surprised.
"You folks saved lives here a lot. For that, we are just grateful." Gabriel says. "It is my honor to bestow this award upon you as mayor of this town."
"Well, thanks, but no thanks. This award belongs to the real heroes." Angry Luigi says, walking to Atticus, handing him the award. That was when Alem tuber finally lost it with Angry Luigi.
Atticus handed it back to Gabriel. "You didn't award this to me and my team. It wouldn't be right to take it from the recipients who deserve it." He says.
Alem tuber could be seen punching his brother up and down the street.
Reilly accepted the award for the team as Alex was filming the streetwide beatdown via drone, capturing it at every angle.
The award being presented now was for Baker Of The Year. Considering Stephen won an award with his parents earlier tonight, he didn't really care whether he won this or not. Being a part of Baker's Dozen Digest's Bakery Of The Year was a big enough honor.
It went to Jerbo as Viney had to carry him on stage, considering he was too shocked to move. That happened often whenever he won an award.
"Jerby, do you want to say anything?" Viney asked him gently.
"It's an honor, um, thank you for the award." Jerbo says as Viney smiles at him.
Meanwhile, Atticus grabbed Alem tuber. "Put him down." He says.
Alem tuber growled, dropping his brother. "Do you want a beatdown, too?" Alem tuber asked, walking up
"I'd like to see you try." Atticus says.
Back to the awards, the one being presented was for Inventor Of The Year. This was a high award sought by the youngest and oldest inventors in town.
"This award is going to June Chen!" Charity says. June was surprised.
"Yay, Junebug!" Ruben says.
"Way to go, sis!" Ollie says.
June ran and accepted her award, then went to Lisa and kissed her as Lisa was blushing.
Meanwhile, Kat and Ana were on a dragon parade float.
"Wheeee!" they say.
"This is awesome!" Kat says.
"This award is one I have presented to many over the years, but I have never had to present this to a newcomer. This is an award called the Power & Perseverance Award. This award is often presented to someone who has overcome lots of obstacles and challenges throughout the year." Charity says.
"So, this year, this person was actually nominated by a Metropolis local, and I would like to read the speech that was submitted." Gabriel was then reading the speech Karen sent in along with the pictures, which were shown on a screen.
"So, with that…the Power & Perseverance Award this year goes to Garth Bernstein!" Charity says.
"Me?!" Garth says as he walks on stage. "I…I had no idea…"
He was given the award as everyone cheered.
Hal wondered how Atticus hadn't gotten an award.
"He gets more awards than you think, Hal." Barry says.
Luke just looks on. "I want an award…" Luke hissed.
"You'll get one. Just wait." Lucy says.
"Wow…I still can't believe we won." Savannah says.
"I know!" Jack says.
"Imagine if Melony won another award…" Jason says.
"Sure, she's risen too high, but I doubt she'd win." Chrissy says.
The next award was Band Of The Year, which in all honesty, went to the Hot Slice Experience. The cups accepted the award on the band's behalf.
Mugman took off his sweater and smiled.
The next award was Cheer Captain Of The Year, which went to Luke. Luke smiled.
"Thank you." He says.
After that, more awards were presented, then it finally came down to the final one of the night. Superstar Of The Year. The most coveted award of them all during New Year's Eve.
"This is it, everyone, our final award of the night!" Gabriel says.
"We all know it's either going to be Luke, Remy, Shane, one of the Foxes, Stephen, one of the Invincibros, a cup, or Ollie." Alem tuber thought.
"I could win…I've really leveled up this year helping people and I'm nice." Melony thought, as this was her dream.
"The Superstar Of The Year award goes to Melony!" Gabriel says.
Everyone was stunned, but no one more than the girl in question.
"Way to go!" Garrett says.
"You're awesome, Melony!" Kylie says.
"What are you waiting for?" Cedric asked.
Melony couldn't move. Kylie and Roland had to carry her to the stage and set her down.
Gabriel gave her the award.
"Thanks, everyone." Melony says with a smile and rose the trophy up high.
After a bit, a DJ played music, but the boys just sat and chatted. Same with some other people. Others danced and ate the food.
"So, I heard that Gemma isn't delaying the start of the show. She wants to start it the Friday after New Year's Day." Barry says.
"How do you know this?" Hal asked, eating a cake pop.
"Leaks and news. Luke can't keep secrets when there's something about him. you know Luke loves to announce anything he's in." Remy says.
Garrett wondered if he and his friends even had a chance to win. He knew his friends had never won before.
Melony walked past Garrett. "I'm going home." she says, not wanting to stay for the fireworks.
"Oh, right, she can't see." Mike teased as Melony walked off and kicked Mike in the leg and leaves.
Atticus came back.
"Wait, Atticus, who will you team up with now?" Mo asked.
"Melony is going to be on Garrett's team. I guess I'll take Remy, Stephen, and Ollie under my wing." Atticus said.
Soon, the countdown started
"10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1! Happy New Year!" Everyone says as fireworks shoot up into the sky.
Melony hears the fireworks and tears up, clenching her fists.
Luke was kissing Zee and Shane was tongue-kissing Diana. Barry sighed, lonely. He missed Barbara.
Later, Melony arrives at the manor and goes to get ready for bed.
Luke smiled as he sat outside the manor with Zee.
"It's gonna be a great year." Luke says.
