"OUT OF MY WAY!" Hades roared, his voice echoing through the cavernous halls of his kingdom. The souls around him seemed to evaporate as he passed, turning away and fading at the king's distress. They knew better than to linger in the wake of Hades' fury, for when the ruler of the underworld was in such a state, even the shadows trembled.

His black cloak billowed behind him as he stormed through the corridors of the palace, his footsteps resounding like thunder against the cold stone floor. With each stride, the weight of his worry grew heavier, his heart pounding in his chest with a fear he dared not acknowledge.

He made his way into the grand chamber of the palace, the air heavy with anticipation and tension. The flickering torches cast long shadows across the marble walls, their dancing light offering little solace to the anxious god.

As he approached the ornate doors of his private chambers, Hades felt a surge of desperation wash over him. With a quickening pace that bordered on desperation, he pushed open the doors and burst into the room.

There, amidst a sea of silk and satin, lay his wife, Persephone, still in labour. Her face was contorted in pain, her grip tight on the hands of the attendants who surrounded her. Despite the agony etched upon her features, her eyes met Hades' with a fierce determination that mirrored his own.

Hades rushed to her side, his heart pounding in his chest as he took in the sight before him. "My love," he whispered, his voice barely above a hoarse whisper as he took Persephone's hand in his own. "I am here." Persephone's gaze softened at the sight of her husband, a flicker of relief crossing her features. "Hades," she murmured, her voice strained with effort. "I... I need you." She grasped his hand tightly as the first cries echoed out into the night.

As the attendant approached the couple with a bundle held within her hands, the weight of anticipation hung heavy in the air. She turned him around in her arms, revealing the tiny form swaddled in blankets, a newborn babe with wisps of dark hair and eyes that seemed to hold the depths of the abyss, and yet at the same time a flicker of rebirth deep within them.

In that moment, as the world seemed to hold its breath, Hades knew that nothing else mattered. Not the whispers of prophecy, nor the machinations of jealous gods. All that mattered was the life that hung in the balance, the fragile thread of destiny that bound them all together.

"Do you have a name?" the attendant asked, her voice soft as she gazed upon the newborn child.

"Perseus," Persephone replied for him, her smile radiant despite the exhaustion etched upon her features. "His name shall be Perseus."

Hades felt a surge of emotion swell within him at the sound of his wife's voice, a mixture of pride and awe that threatened to overwhelm him. Perseus, their son, born of the union between darkness and light, death and rebirth. He was a symbol of their love, a testament to the power of their bond.

Perseus dashed eagerly toward his father's throne, his youthful exuberance shining through despite his godly stature. At the tender age of eighteen, he still possessed the boundless energy and excitement of a child, especially on this momentous day. Today marked the occasion when he would finally attend the council and receive his domains from the Fates themselves.

As he approached Hades' throne, his heart brimming with anticipation, his father's laughter rang out, a deep rumble that echoed through the halls of the underworld. Yet, as Hades laid a hand on his shoulder, his expression shifted to one of solemnity, and Perseus felt a pang of apprehension flutter in his chest.

"Be careful at Olympus, my son," Hades advised, his tone grave with underlying concern. "Zeus may not be too fond of your presence there, especially with the events surrounding his... fling with Leto. We must tread carefully. We don't want him throwing another hissy fit."

Perseus nodded, his brow furrowing slightly at the mention of Zeus's dalliance with Leto and the children born from that union. He had heard rumors of their impending arrival at the council, and though he was eager to meet them, he couldn't shake the sense of unease that accompanied the knowledge of Zeus's potential displeasure.

Hades and Perseus materialized in a flash of light before the imposing pearly doors that stood before them. Perseus couldn't help but note the striking similarity between these doors and those of the palace back home. With a quick exchange of glances, they stepped forward, pushing open the doors and entering the council chamber.

Perseus felt a surge of awe wash over him as he took in the grandeur of the room. The marble floors gleamed beneath his feet, and the walls seemed to stretch infinitely upward, adorned with intricate carvings and golden accents. He couldn't help but feel small in the presence of such splendor.

As he allowed himself to be swept away by the magnificence of his surroundings, Perseus caught sight of two other teens lingering near the back of the room, their presence almost hidden amidst the opulence. A boy and a girl, their gazes wary and guarded, caught his attention.

Determined to break the ice, Perseus made his way toward them, leaving his father behind for the moment. He felt a surge of nervous energy flutter in his chest as he approached, his heart pounding in anticipation.

"Hey, I'm Perseus," he stammered out, offering a tentative smile to the girl.

Before she could respond, the boy interjected with an air of authority. "Well, I'm Apollo, and you can make your way back," he declared, his voice carrying across the room.

Perseus blinked in surprise at the abrupt dismissal, taken aback by Apollo's brash demeanor. But before he could protest, the girl stepped forward, pushing Apollo aside with a determined expression.

"Apollo, I don't need you 'protecting me'," she chided, her voice laced with exasperation. She turned to face Perseus, her eyes meeting his with a spark of curiosity. "I'm Artemis," she introduced herself, her voice softening as she offered him a small smile.

Perseus felt a warmth spread through him at the sight of her smile, his nerves easing in her presence. With a newfound sense of confidence, he returned her smile, his eyes sparkling with genuine interest.

"Are you Zeus's kids?" he asked her, his curiosity piqued by the connection he sensed between them.

Artemis's smile faltered slightly at the question, her expression growing guarded as a hint of defensiveness crept into her voice. "And so what if we are?" she replied, her tone harder now, her eyes narrowing slightly as she regarded him.

Perseus sensed the shift in her demeanor and quickly backtracked, realizing he had touched upon a sensitive subject. "I didn't mean anything by it," he said hastily, his voice softening with sincerity. "I was just curious. I mean, being children of Zeus must come with its own set of challenges, right?"

Artemis regarded him for a moment, her gaze searching his face for any hint of insincerity. Finally, she seemed to relent, her expression softening once more as she let out a sigh. "You have no idea," she admitted, a wry smile tugging at the corners of her lips. "But I suppose that's a conversation for another time."

Perseus grinned as he stepped away from the siblings. He felt a newfound connection with Artemis and Apollo, despite the initial tension, and he knew that their paths would cross again in the future.

With a lightness in his step, Perseus made his way back to his father's throne, his heart brimming with excitement for the events unfolding before him. As he approached, he found Hades waiting patiently, a knowing glint in his eyes.

"Everything alright?" Hades asked, a hint of amusement playing at the corners of his lips as he observed his son.

Perseus nodded, unable to contain his grin. "Everything's great," he replied, the thrill of the encounter with Artemis and Apollo still coursing through him. "I think this is going to be quite the adventure."

Hades chuckled, a deep rumble that reverberated through the throne room. "I have no doubt about that," he said, his voice filled with pride. "Just remember what I told you earlier. Olympus can be a tricky place, especially with Zeus and his temper."

Perseus nodded, his expression sobering slightly as he remembered his father's warning. "I'll be careful," he promised, determination shining in his eyes.

"ALL TAKE THEIR SEATS, THE COUNCIL IS NOW IN SESSION"

The air crackled with energy as the council members took their places, their expressions ranging from stoic determination to cautious curiosity. Perseus felt a thrill of excitement course through him as he realized that he was now a part of this esteemed gathering, ready to lend his voice to the shaping of divine affairs.

As the murmurs died down and a hush fell over the chamber, Perseus felt a surge of anticipation wash over him. This was it—the moment he had been waiting for. With a sense of purpose burning in his heart, he squared his shoulders and waited for the council to begin its deliberations.

"We have many items on the addendum for today but perhaps we should start with the most important, the coronation of my 2 Children, Apollo and Artemis and Hades and Persephone's child"

As Zeus's booming voice filled the chamber, Perseus couldn't help but feel a pang of disappointment at the lackluster introduction given to him. "He could have at least learned my name," he muttered quietly to his father, a hint of frustration creeping into his tone.

Hades laid a reassuring hand on his son's shoulder, offering him a comforting squeeze before turning his attention back to the proceedings.

"If the Fates will step forward, please," Zeus continued, his voice commanding attention as the three wizened old women appeared seemingly out of thin air, making their way to the center of the room from three separate directions.

Perseus watched with a mixture of awe and trepidation as the Fates surrounded Artemis, the silver light of their power enveloping her form. His heart swelled with pride as they bestowed upon her the titles and responsibilities "Rise Artemis Goddess of the wilderness, wild animals, nature, vegetation, childbirth, care of children, archery, the moon and the hunt."

Next, it was Apollo's turn, and Perseus couldn't help but notice the confidence and swagger in his step as the golden light of the Fates bathed him in its radiance. "Rise Apollo God of swiftness, speed, competition, destiny, fate, good, healing, prophecy, archery, the arts, good health, athleticism, and the sun."

Then, it was his turn. Perseus rose nervously, his heart pounding in his chest as he made his way to the center of the room. He felt a surge of reassurance wash over him as Artemis offered him a reassuring smile.

Their hands raised, and Perseus braced himself as the unimaginable power of the Fates surged through him. Black smoke enveloped him, and he gritted his teeth against the overwhelming sensation coursing through his veins.

"Perseus, God of Heroes, Weaponry, Honor, Shadows, Assassins, and the Hunt. Rise, Assassin of Olympus," the Fates spoke in unison, their voices echoing through the chamber.

As Perseus stood, he felt an uncomfortable weight settle upon his back, and with a sense of wonder, he turned to behold the magnificent black wings that had sprouted from his form. A surge of exhilaration coursed through him as he realized the extent of his transformation.

Taking his place on the throne opposite Artemis, Perseus offered her a grateful smile, his heart filled with determination as he prepared to embrace his newfound role among the gods of Olympus.
