I grabbed my phone the moment I arrived at home and I had a couple of unanswered calls. Some of them were from my mom, some from Sting. I sat down on the couch and called my mother back, telling her that everything was fine and I was having a good time in New York. Well, it was true... apart from some things. I called Sting right afteer and he picked up the phone as if he hadn't heard my voice in ages. I couldn't help but smile, I missed him. I needed to hear his voice to not think about anything else that was bothering me right now.

"Hello, gorgeous! I was starting to worry about you."

"Yeah... Sorry, I had to much work to do today and barely looked at the phone."

"It's okay, princess. That means you're working hard."

"How's everything there?"

"Great. I had a promotion the other day, I wanted to tell you once you picked up the phone."

"That's great, Sting! I'm so happy for you."

"And how are you? Miss me already?"

"You bet..." I smiled, "It feels nice here, but I'm starting to feel a bit homesick."

"Don't worry, you'll be back here soon enough. I want you to come back to me as soon as possible."

"I want that too." I could feel tears in my eyes.

"I have to go now, baby. Tomorrow is a big day and I have a lot of work to do, I just wanted to hear your voice before going to bed."

"Wait..." I looked at my watch. It was only 7pm, "Oh, right... I had forgotten that the time here runs different."

"It's okay. I'm gonna go, I love you."

"I love you too."

I hung up and couldn't hold back the tears. I missed him, my mother and everything there. It was a great opportunity to be here and I loved it, but I couldn't help missing my home more than anyhting. I laid back on the couch with my head spinning around. I was so distracted by work that I had completely forgotten to call Sting more often like we had promised each other, or even a few texts. I needed to stop being so distracted.

I finally got up and went to the kitchen to prepare my dinner. That's when my phone rang again and I went to see who it was. It was Levy.

"Hey, girl! What's up?"

"What would you say if I asked you to go to a party?"

"Umm, what?" I raised my eyebrow.

"Well, it's more like a festival... Anyway, there's this huge event happening in the city in two days and I was wondering if you wanted to come."

"I assume you've already made up your mind."

"Well, you know how much I love to have fun, especially with my friends. C'mon, I'm sure you'll have fun! I've seen how crazy you can be at the bar."

"Don't be silly, Levy. That was a one time thing, I told you that I was tired about work."

"Well, this time it's only an opportunity for you to have fun without having to worry about anything else. What do you say?"

I sighed. She was the only person who had made me have fun ever since I came to this town. It was hard not to go with her.

"Fine, you win. I'll go."

I was waiting for Levy to arrive at my apartment. I waited a few hours and I was getting ready during that time. I looked at myself in the mirror to make sure I liked the outfit I was wearing. I wasn't exactly the type of girl that would dress up something bold to show off my curves or anything like that. I was more modest than most girls I knew back from college, so I dressed up in a pretty sparkly white top and a pair of leather jeans. I curled my hair a bit and applied some natural and subtle makeup. I put on some gold earrings to finish the look and waited for Levy to call me.

Once she did, I grabbed my trench coat and went outside of my apartment. She was already waiting for me at the entrance and smiled as soon as she saw me. She was wearing a blue dress with glitter and a pair of black high heels. She was gorgeous. Her hair was wavy, just like mine and she looked like a princess. Her hair looked like waves in the ocean at night.

"Wow, look at you!" she said, "You're definitely going to have some eyes laying on you tonight."

"Me? What about you? You look like royalty."

"Nah, you're exaggerating."

"I thought this was supposed to be a normal festival, am I missing something?"

"I just like to dress up sometimes, why not?" she smiled, "Besides, who knows who I might find there?"

"You don't miss an opportunity, do you?" I smiled back.

We walked over to the place where the event was happening. Once we got there, I was amazed by the decorations outside. It was beautiful, the lights were shining so bright that the whole yard looked like a place from a fairytale. As soon as we arrived, I noticed that people were selling drinks and waiting for people to buy, and I knew that Levy was probably heading there. She looked at me and I stared back at her like I already knew what she was going to say.

"Umm, I'm just going to-"

"Get some drinks, yeah... How shocking!" I said and she couldn't help but laugh.

"Do you want something?"

"I think I'll just take some water for now, thank you."

I was looking around after Levy went to buy her drink and that's when I suddenly noticed who was a few meters away from me. Natsu... He was right in front of me in the distance, talking with someone. It was a woman, not to my surprise. It was even more obvious once I saw who it was... Lisanna. They were both talking and she was laughing so hard that I almost thought it was only to get his attention. He was wearing one of his black suits, like always. He looked so professional and handsome, even though he was at a festival event.

Suddenly, his eyes met mine. He looked at me as if he was surprised to see me, and then he simply... looked away again. As I tried not to pay much attention to it, he suddenly started walking towards me with Lisanna. The last thing I wanted at that moment was to deal with her presence, since I already had to do that at work. Each step he took in my direction was another heartbeat coming from my chest. He stopped a few steps away from me and Lisanna simply looked at me like I was the last person she wished to see at that moment. At least, it was mutual.

"I didn't expect to see you here." he said.

"I... came here with a friend. She really wanted to come and I couldn't say no."

He looked around and back at me, "And where is this friend of yours?"

"Oh, she went to get some drinks."

"I see..." that's all he said before being interrupted by Lisanna.

"Should we go back to the party, darling? I'm sure Miss Heartfilia is more than fine with her friend's company."

She looked in my direction as she said that. I had no idea what was her problem. Before I could say anything to reply back to her, I was startled by Levy who had just appeared next to me with a drink on one hand and my water on the other. She gave it to me and turned her attention to Natsu and Lisanna.

"Oh, hello!" she inspected him, "You must be Mr. Dragneel, correct?"

"I see my reputation follows me." he smiled.

"Well, you can thank my friend Lucy for that. She speaks a lot about you. It's a pleasure to finally meet you."

"Does she?"

He looked in my direction and I couldn't believe what Levy was saying. I wanted to grab her and get out of there as soon as possible. I was getting so embarrassed by that conversation that all I wanted to do was to get away from the situation. I looked at her and gave her a look that could make her understand that she needed to be quiet.

"Don't mind her, I'm sure it's just the alcohol doing its thing."

"I haven't even started drinking yet." she looked back at Natsu, "Anyway, how could I not recognize Mr. Dragneel from Fairy Tail? Your face is literally all over the internet and TV."

He chuckled. I couldn't believe how relaxed Levy was, talking to Natsu like it was nothing. Then again, he was my boss, not hers... or maybe I was too nervous for my own good and needed to act more like her. I looked at Lisanna and I could tell how annoyed she was at that moment. I knew that she just wanted to grab Natsu away from there and go enjoy his company somewhere else, but somehow, he wasn't paying any attention to her demands. I really couldn't understand their relationship.

"And to who do I have the pleasure to be talking to?"

"Oh, I'm Levy! Levy Mcgarden. I'm a friend of Lucy's, in case you haven't noticed already." she laughed.

"Yes, I can see that." he smirked and looked at me, "Well, since you're both finally in each other's company again, I'll take my leave." he started walking and Lisanna grabbed his arm, "Enjoy the rest of the party. I'll see you next week, Miss Heartfilia."

"He seems nice." Levy said.

"That's because you only talked to him once."

"I think you're overreacting... What I'd give to have a boss like that who's always after me."

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"Isn't it obvious? I just met him and I figured it all out."

"There's nothing to figure out, Levy. You're already creating a dramatic novel in your head for no reason."

"Maybe... But I'm not making it up when I say that he's back there and can't take his eyes off of us."

I looked back and he was standing next to Lisanna and two other men. While they were all talking, Natsu's eyes looked back in our direction and I automatically turned my attention to Levy, who was looking at me with a provocative smile.

"What did I tell you? Is it still my imagination?"

I rolled my eyes and grabbed the water she had brought me and started drinking. I grabbed her arm and smiled.

"Come on, let's enjoy this party before I regret my decision."

After long hours of working, I took the elevator and sighed. Another day at work was complete. I just wanted to go home and rest. I looked at the clock, it was 5pm, I had finished earlier today and went home before Lisanna or someone else could give me something else to do. When I finally arrived at the entrance, I waited for a taxi to arrive to go home. That's when I heard a familiar sound in the distance. It was my boss' car. He stopped it right at the building's entrance as soon as he noticed my presence and took his sunglasses off.

"Waiting for someone?"

"Yes, I'm taking a taxi to go home."

He looked at the watch, "So soon?"

"I finished work earlier today."

"No extra work, huh?" he smirked, "C'mon, I'll take you home."

"No, thank you... I'm fine, I'll just take a taxi."

"Is it so hard for you to accept help from other people? You're off the clock, aren't you? Just think of me as an Uber."

He smirked and I sighed. I didn't protest anymore and got inside his car. He started driving towards my apartment and I didn't say a word during the entire trip. As soon as he took an unfamiliar turn, I realized that he wasn't heading in the same direction anymore. I had no idea where he was going, but it definitely wasn't my apartment.

"Umm, I'm sorry but my apartment isn't this way."

"I know."

That's all he said. He didn't even look at me or seemed to care about what I had just said. I tried to grab his attention once again.

"I thought you were taking me home."

"I am... After I take you somewhere else first."

I looked at him and he seemed as relaxed as ever, as if nothing was happening at that moment. I sat back and looked at the window, trying to understand where he was taking me this time. I couldn't deal with another hamburger again, so I hoped it wasn't another trip to a fast food restaurant.

"So, how was the rest of the party? Did you and your friend have fun?"

"I'm not sure how that's relevant right now." I looked at him, "I think you should tell me exactly where we're going right now before you ask me anything."

"I told you, I'm taking you to a place. What's so wrong with that?"

I sighed and gave up. There was no point in trying to argument with him, he always acted as if nothing out of the ordinary was happening.

"Yeah, we had fun. What about you? Did you have a good time with Lisanna?"

"Do you really want to know?" he looked at me with a smirk and I immediately looked away, "It was cool, we partied a bit with some friends of mine and went home after. I was surprised to find you there anyway."

"Why's that?"

"You don't seem the type of person who likes to have fun."

"What?! Why are you even saying that?"

"Well, from the few times I was around you, you seem all "work, work, work". You can't even say anything to me without remiding yourself that I'm your boss."

"Because it's true! It doesn't mean I don't know how to have fun with a friend."

"You mean the friend who told me that you speak a lot about me?" he smirked.

"She was... kinda drunk. Besides, Levy jokes around all the time."

"Does she?" he looked at me and I tried to ignore it, "Okay, why don't you ask me something?"

"What?"

"About me. Why don't you ask me what you wanna know?"

"I don't want to know anything..."

"Are you sure?" he looked in my direction and knew I was lying.

"Alright, fine..." I took some time to think of a question, "Where are you taking me?"

"Are you sure that's what you want to ask me?" he chuckled.

"I don't like to be completely oblivious of where I'm going, so yes."

"It's just a place that I go often. Since I catched you at the office, might as well bring you too."

"Is it such a mysterious place that I can't even know about it?"

"You're very stressed, aren't you?" he chuckled.

I looked at him as if he was mocking me, "In case you haven't noticed, this feels a lot like kidnapping and that's illegal, by the way."

"Why would I kidnap my own employee?"

I didn't answer. Once again, the whole situation was so weird. I sat back and looked outside to try to figure out where we were going. It was a useless thing to do because I barely knew the city, let alone strange and unknown places. He knew it better than me, so it would be a waste of time to try and guess.

As soon as we left the main road of the city, I could only see green and trees around us, without counting with the road. I had no idea where we were going, but once again he had chosen to leave the city. Apparently, he had spent a lot of time in these places, he probably even grew up here and only then he went to the city. He stopped the car in the middle of a backboard that had enough space to park cars and I could only look at what was in front of my eyes. From where we were, we could see the whole city and even a bit of the sea. It was as if we were on top of the world. He realized that I was completely surprised by the view on the horizon and chuckled once again. He opened the door and looked back at me.

"Are you gonna stay there?"

I was surprised by his comment and as I sighed, I left the car. It was 6pm and I could already see the sun setting. It was beautiful from up there. We could see the variety of colors in the sky, it was a mix of red, orange and yellow and it was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. I was surprised that he knew of such a place, I would never imagine someone like him in a place like this. Before I could say something or appreciate the sunset a bit more, he spoke again.

"I come here often. It's the best place to watch the sunset." he looked at me and I averted my eyes, "I hope you appreciate it, you're the first person I have ever showed this to."

"Oh, am I supposed to thank you for kidnapping me?" I looked at him and he smirked. I couldn't help but smile as well, but I averted my eyes again, "But yes... It is beautiful, I can't deny that. How did you find this place?"

"My mother used to bring me here when I was a kid."

"Your mother? Is she on the board of the company too?"

"No... My mother..." he looked down, "She's not here anymore."

"Oh... I-I'm so sorry..."

"I meant she's not here in New York anymore. She left a few years ago."

"Well... Thanks to her, you know about this place. I might come here a few times when I'm stressed with work."

I looked at him to make him realize that I was joking and he understood. He chuckled and looked back at the sunset again. That was the moment that something inside me made me shiver. As I looked at him, I couldn't stop staring at how handsome he looked with the light of the sunset reflecting on his face. I couldn't stop staring and in that moment, I felt something in my chest tightening up. I turned around to face the sunset once again to stop that sensation. What was I doing? I couldn't be staring at another man when I have a boyfriend. A boyfriend who loves me and is waiting for me back home. My body was shivering at my thoughts and I tried to calm down, but he had noticed it.

"Are you okay?"

"Y-Yeah, I'm fine. W-Why do you ask?"

"You seem nervous."

That was enough to make me angry. I tried to hide it and act normal, but somehow it didn't work. He could easily read my and my behaviour and it was annoying me.

"N-No... I'm okay. It's just... I felt a bit homesick for a moment, it's nothing."

"We can leave, if you want."

The sunset was almost over. I wanted to stay and watch it until the end, but I also knew that something about this wasn't a good idea. It was like I was hanging out with a random person and he wasn't a random person. He's my boss, I shouldn't be having moments like this next to him, let alone stare at him and not be able to avert my eyes from him. But somehow, I didn't want to look like I was the kind of person who cut's someone's fun, especially his.

"I-I'll stay until the sunset's over. I don't want to a bummer for you. You came here to watch it... T-That's what we'll do."

He didn't answer, only nodded. He looked at the stunning colors in the sky again. It was almost over and my body was still acting strange. Being there, next to him, was already enough to make me act that way, but the silent was enough to kill me. He could at least say something to make the moment less weird. I just wanted it to be over with so I could go home and forget about it.

The sun had already set and it was finally over. It was that moment that the lights in the city turned everything so bright and magical. Once again, I couldn't stop staring at it. The city was so illuminated that it was almost impossible to ignore it. It looked like a big pool of stars. Everything was... so beautiful. Standing on top of that hill, looking at all that, seemed like a dream that I was about to wake up from.

As I kept staring at the city, I turned around and looked at Natsu for a moment. That's when I was surprised by the fact that he was already looking back at me. Our eyes met and my body started shivering again. Being in that place, with him looking at me, was enough to make me feel weird... but in a good way. His attention was on me and I couldn't help but have mixed feelings about it. I wanted to run away from it and hide, but at the same time, I wanted him to continue. Even so, I couldn't help being bothered by everything that was going on, so I had to finally ask him.

"Why do you keep bringing me with you?"

"What?"

"To this place... To the restaurant the other day... Why me?"

"I'm not sure I understand your question."

"I mean... Why do you want to be around me? I'm your employee."

He stopped for a moment, "You're right. I shouldn't be with you."

I didn't know what to think about those words. Something in my chest made me feel like it was going to explode again. I realized that those words had made me sad... and angry somehow. In that moment, I felt like I was nothing but someone he just liked to mock.

"Then again, what's so wrong about that?" he continued.

I widened my eyes and looked back at him. Was I the only one who felt like it was... weird? Not to meant, unprofessional.

"Because I work for you... I'm not exactly someone you should be hanging around with or bring to places like... this." I sighed, "Besides, what about Lisanna? I'm sure she would love this place as well."

"What about Lisanna?"

"You keep asking me that as if you don't know."

"I don't." he looked at me with a firm expression.

"Well... Isn't she your... assistant or something like that? Aren't you two in... Umm, in a relationship?"

"Who told you that?" he raised his eyebrow.

"I just... I just assumed..."

"We're not. Lisanna is my secretary, that's all."

"Still, I don't get why you'd... want to be around a simple employee like me. I'm sure there's plenty of people forming a line to spend time with you... especially women."

"Does that bother you?" he smirked and I sighed, "I can't help it."

"What?"

"You're different." he looked at me, "You're right, I could have anyone with me. I probably just need to snap my fingers and I'll have plenty of people wanting to hang aroud with me."

"Then, why-"

"Like I said, you're different. You say what you really think, about being around me. You say what's on your head when you clearly don't want something. You're probably thinking that I'm a very egocentric person, cocky or even just an arrogant boss."

"That's not what I-"

"My point is... You don't pretend around me. Not to mention, I was surprised by what you wrote the other day. I have to say that I didn't expect much from you after the interview."

I didn't know if I should feel offended or sad by that statement. Then again, he wasn't exactly insulting me.

"Many people that I've been with, especially women..." he looked at me and smiled, "Haven't exactly been honest around me. I knew that most of them were only my friends because I have money. I guess... it's just exciting to meet someone who's completely different. Especially since I like a challenge."

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"You're a mystery to me. I guess that makes it more interesting."

I just stood there, in silence. I had no idea what to say. Every word that came out of his mouth was enough to give me chills all over my body. He wanted to be around me because... he thinks I'm interesting? What did that even mean? It was so hard to believe everything that was happening in that very moment, especially since a part of me thought that I could be dreaming.

"You're not gonna say anything?" he chuckled.

"I... I just... I'm surprised, that's all. I had no idea that's what you thought about me."

"There's a lot you don't know, Miss Heartfilia."

"I bet..." I smiled, "Thank you... Really, thank you for what you said. I guess all the paranoia I had in my head was just stupid of me. Where I come from, it's not exactly normal to have friendly relations with our bosses, much less a close relationship. I apologize if I seemed like an idiot all the time."

"You apologize too often, Miss Heartfilia."

"Well..." I looked at my watch, "It's getting late. Thank you for showing me this incredible place. I'll make sure not forget about it."

"It's a good place to forget about your work problems, trust me."

"Does that mean you've done it before, Mr. Dragneel?" I smiled.

"Are you trying to know something about me all of a sudden?"

"N-No... Sorry, I was just..."

"What did I say earlier?"

"Right... I'm sorry- I mean..." I sighed and he chuckled.

"Come on, I'll take you home."

Before I could walk to the car, something on the ground suddenly made me trip and my luck was to be grabbed by Natsu's arms before I had a chance to fall to the ground. He grabbed both my arms to make sure I would not lose my balance again. I looked up and my eyes found his.

"Are you okay?" he asked.

"Y-Yes. I'm fine, thank you..."

We both stood there in silence and I could feel the nerves all over my body as I kept staring into his eyes. He had such hypnotizing eyes, I wasn't able to look away. The touch of his hands on my arms was enough to make my body shiver. It was an unexpected contact and it had caught me by surprise.

He leaned in and started bringing his face closer to mine. My body started trembling in that moment, not sure how to react to what he was doing. I didn't move or say anything. My body was forcing me to stay still for some reason and I could only look at him in front of me, his face even closer and closer to mine. I could already feel his warm breath close to me. He was only a few inches away from my face... In that moment, I came back to my senses. I grabbed both his arms and pushed them away from mine. He simply looked at me with a confused expression.

"I'm sorry... I-I have a boyfriend."

His eyes were a mix of feelings after I said those words. I had no idea what he was thinking, but I knew that he wasn't exactly pleased with what he had just heard. He moved away from me, leaving me with a worried expression since I didn't know what he was going to say. He looked at me with a blank expression before finally speaking.

"I see." he said in a cold tone, "In that case, let's go. I'll leave you at home."
