"They jumped me," Skye replied. "Last night after Mary went to sleep."

"All five of them," Beckett stated instead of asking since she had a feeling already. When the investigator nodded, she said, "Skye you-"

"Believe me, I didn't tell them to do that," the investigator interrupted her. "It was more that they wanted me to see what they did before they were killed."

"And?" Beckett asked.

"I can't say," Skye replied in obvious frustration. "The interior of a car, both the front and back. And in Kipling's case the same car and a house."

"Has there ever been a case when the victim has seen their killer?" Beckett asked.

"Yes, the last two your daughter was involved with," Skye replied easily. "But from what they showed me… either your killer is an expert in makeup or there's a group. I have five different faces."

"Would you be able to describe them to a sketch artist?" Beckett asked.

"How?" Skye said firmly. "I describe these men… and we find the killer or killers and then I need to answer for how exactly I saw them."

"But you could try it," Beckett said.

"Of course, but what good would it do?" Skye said.

"Alright," Beckett said placatingly since it wasn't too surprising to hear the agitation in the investigator's voice. "What about Kipling?" she said.

"He's the one that went to a house," Skye replied. "It's a ranch and he walked in before he was hit on the back of the head."

"I'm assuming he can't remember where it was," Beckett said.

"No," Skye said. "Though it was an interesting color, white with a sort of mauve trim."

"So you'd remember it," Beckett told her.

"Oh of course, but I can't stay with you," Skye said. "I honestly have to go with Trevor."

"But if we find it, you'd let us get in touch with you," Beckett said.

"Of course," Skye replied before she put her lanyard away. "But because I'm finished, we better go and have breakfast." She started to pass by her friend before she was grabbing her arm and stopping her saying, "I'll tell Mary… later. I can't have her being worried about me now."

"You think she'd stop you," Beckett said.

"Yes," Skye said firmly. "But I will tell her."

"Alright," Beckett replied, letting her go. "But I'll keep asking you."

"Don't worry, I'm aware you will but I just hope she won't be angry at me," Skye said as they turned to leave the entry. "But she will and you're looking at me like I'm a crazy person right now."

"I am, you need to tell her," Beckett said firmly.

"It's alright," Mary said, watching the two women freeze. "Skye-" she began to say a little angrily before her wife was interrupting her.

"I'm fine, I went to sleep after they left," Skye said firmly. "And I'm fine now, you didn't even notice anything about me."

"I believe her," Beckett said rapidly when Mary looked at her, still appearing concerned. "And she's functioning like normal."

"Thank you for that wording," Skye said, wrinkling her nose. She then turned back to her wife and told her firmly, "I need to finish this."

"What if you can't?" Mary asked.

Aware the two would need some time alone, Beckett walked past the doctor and headed to where her husband was standing.

"I could hear," Castle said, glancing to the two women in the entry. "I…"

Beckett was startled when her husband trailed off before she turned around and saw Skye and Mary walking to them. "Are you two okay?" she asked in slight confusion.

"We are," the doctor began. "Well, for now I want to talk to her about that, but she does need some food in her and I want to discuss this back at home."

"Breakfast is ready," Castle told them. "I was just going to tell you guys."

"Let's go," Skye replied.

Not surprised when her friend was looking at her wife while she spoke, Beckett held her husband back so they could allow the two women to go first. On their own she looked at her husband and said, "We're going to have to review everything."

"I thought the same," Castle said, squeezing her hand gently. "I just hope we find the car… and they get the test back for the iron."

Nodding in agreement, Beckett let him lead the way back to the kitchen, smiling at Josie who rushed up to them before they turned their attention to their family.

Since the meal was ready, they went to the game room and sat, beginning to eat, before Josie was trying to reach up to her head.

"Do you want to take that out?" Julia asked, watching her little sister with a smile since she'd quickly noticed her sister.

"Yes," Josie said.

"I thought she could wear a headband," Eliza said since she had put it on for her baby sister.

"I don't think she needs it," Castle said while Beckett was getting the rainbow headband off Josie's head.

"Her hair will grow Eliza," Beckett told the little girl.

"I feel like it's taking too long," she replied. When her parents looked at her, she pursed her lips and said, "Sorry, but she did look cute too," to explain before her big sister was responding laughingly.

"And you bought her that headband," Alexis said.

"I did agree to it," Julia said, smiling when Eliza was pursing her lips again. "Since it matches her sweater."

"Next time make sure she wants it," Beckett told the little girl.

"I will," Eliza replied. "Sorry Josa."

"No…" the toddler started to say before she looked at her father were some distress on her face.

"Don't," Castle said, aware of the word she wanted to say.

"Don't say sorry Lizzy," Josie said firmly.

Laughing, Eliza replied, "I have to but thanks for saying that."

"Welcome," Josie replied before she was getting more of her eggs.

When they had finished eating, Skye stayed with the kids while the others were taking everything to the kitchen. "What?" she asked, startled when Julia went over to her.

"Are you okay?" the teen asked. At the look the investigator gave her, Julia explained, "I noticed you and Mary talking in the entry."

"You have good vision," Skye commented. When the teen frowned, she smiled and said, "Sorry, but I am fine."

"I don't believe you," Julia said carefully.

"Not surprised," Skye responded. "And it's everyone, they're not here but they want answers."

"Oh, that makes sense," Julia said knowingly. She then said worriedly, "But you won't be able to keep them from jumping you again," not surprised when the investigator was speaking to her firmly.

"You need to work on keeping them away from you," Skye said. "Especially Lyla because she has gone to you before."

"I know, Mom told me yesterday I need to make sure she doesn't do that again," Julia explained.

"Good," Skye replied after studying the teen and nodding once in satisfaction at her response.

"How can you do anything with all those people with you?" Eliza asked then, turning from where she was standing at the whack-a-mole game with Josie.

"Years of practice," Skye said. She then looked at the little girl pointedly and said, "Why are you asking?"

"I've seen a couple people at the school," Eliza replied. She saw the way her sister was looking at her and said in a rush, "Not the same people you saw. People that looked like they were wearing bustle dresses and everything."

"You said the land used to belong to a farming family?" Skye asked.

"At the beginning," Alexis said, walking inside.

"Are they kicking?" Eliza asked before her big sister could continue.

"Both of them," Alexis replied with a smile. "And then the Landen family bought it and while they kept the barn it was a horse ranch basically."

"Landen as in steel?" Skye asked.

"You've heard of them?" Alexis responded with her own question, sitting at the table and smiling when Josie walked up to her. "You want to feel them kicking?" she asked since her baby sister was smiling at her shyly.

"Please?" Josie asked.

Alexis nodded before she pulled Josie closer to her, wrapping her arm around the toddler's shoulders before she turned back to the investigator. "The same family. They stayed until the Depression and then lost most of their money and had to sell the land. The Academy's been there since 1938."

"Impressive," Skye said, looking over at her wife since she was entering the room. "I'm fine," she said immediately.

"I know already," Mary replied, going to her. "I'm glad you're resting."

"There isn't that much else I can do," Skye said. "You're finished?"

"That was everything," Beckett said, moving over to sit by her. "And Josie?" she asked her oldest.

"The twins were kicking," Alexis explained. "She wanted to stay with me."

"I'm a baby," Josie said.

"Come here sweetie," Beckett said with a smile. Once her youngest was on her lap she kissed the side of her head and said, "You are, but there are two more remember."

"Eh," Josie said, nodding her head.

Beckett wasn't surprised when Castle squeezed the toddler's back before they were turning at the sound of Skye's phone ringing. "Time?" she asked, seeing Mary gripping her wife's arm briefly.

"Time," Skye said.

Though she wanted to tell her friend to be careful, Beckett felt it wasn't necessary and turned her attention to Josie after they had said goodbye to the investigator while she and Mary left them in the game room. She and Castle began speaking to their youngest, letting their middle daughters play for a little until they would need to head to school.

"I'm assuming you didn't get anything about the iron yet," Skye said.

"No… how long have you been holding on to that question?" Nkosi asked, glancing at her swiftly since he was still driving to Rutherford Private Airport.

"A while, that and the metal… blob," Skye replied.

"Yeah, nothing on either but when I called before we left for the school, they said they might have it soon," Nkosi told her. "And I get the feeling they wanted me to stop asking."

"Most likely," Skye replied.

"Do you think they got anything?" Nkosi asked.

"They were just barely leaving themselves," Skye explained. "Patrick?" she then asked in confusion.

"He was still getting ready to go," Nkosi replied. "I booked it out of there."

Nodding, Skye looked out the windshield before she said, "I want to see the cockpit."

"There is a little of it left," Nkosi said, nodding. "We had to put it together a bit, but it's partially set." He saw they'd reached the airport and at the gate he showed his ID before driving to the hangar furthest from the entrance. "What do you guys have?" he asked once he and Skye were walking up to their go-team that had left the hangar.

"We've cleared the engines," one man said.

"Hydraulics are all fine," another told them.

"Have you tested the avionics?" Skye asked.

"I just finished," a woman said, raising her hand. "And it was the addition to it."

"Okay," Nkosi said. "We're going to look at the boxes they sent us from DC," he told the team. "Since you've looked into everything you can join us so you can see what we have."

Walking after the others, Skye noticed the woman who had spoken lingering behind a little, glancing at her. "What're wrong Bonner?" she asked.

"I heard the Riverside company was involved with this," the woman said.

"It may be, why?" Skye said.

"My college friend is the receptionist there," the woman said. "And I can't get a hold of her. I thought she might be able to help you."

"Is her name Harper Nagel?" Skye asked. At the woman's nod she said, "I saw her, so she's fine but she might be busy with the fallout this is going to create."

"I guess," Bonner said doubtfully.

Beginning to walk a little ahead of the woman, Skye faltered before she said, "What's her address? I can have the police make a welfare check on her if you'd like."

"Please," Bonner breathed gratefully before she was getting her notebook.

After she had it Skye went quickly over to Nkosi and explained when she'd been talking about with Bonner and said, "I'd like to call Beckett, something about that doesn't sit right," relieved when he was quickly agreeing with her.

"Try but what if they're busy right now?" Nkosi asked, surprised when she paused. "Is it one of the victims?" he asked, watching her looking towards the plane.

"Kipling," Skye said. "I have to go. Now."

"I better go with you," Nkosi said, watching her in concern. When his co-investigator looked at him, he said, "You're pale, and it's freezing right now."

"He's freaking out," Skye said. "As soon as I read this address." At Nkosi's expression she said, "I've been holding him back."

"We're going," he said with a frown. "Now."

About to tell him she could go by herself; Skye couldn't speak fast enough when he was heading over to their metallurgist. With him speaking to the team member, she looked at her phone and realized she'd put the address into a text message to Beckett. She hesitated for a moment to send it before Nkosi was walking up to her and hustling her outside to his car. "What about the data?" she asked.

"They're going to wait," Nkosi replied. "I have it here," he said, indicating his computer bag. "They're going to look at the plane again until we're back." Glancing at her he said, "Until I'm back."

Though she wanted to protest Skye said, "You know where this house is?"

"Patrick went for another case… the one where the mother murdered her son and had her other sons mummify him," Nkosi explained. "The family lives on the same street." He glanced at the investigator and asked, "Did you text her?"

"No," Skye said, confused for a moment before he realized what he meant. She got her phone and opened it quickly before typing out a rapid message to her friend underneath the address. "I hope this helps," she said, sending it.

"Should we have even come back?" Castle asked his wife.

"We are assisting," Beckett replied.

"She's right, though what if we see someone committing a crime?" Darnley asked the two as they got into their car.

"There is citizen's arrest," Castle commented.

"We're not on patrol," Beckett said firmly. "We're looking for the car."

"Without much chance of success," Darnley couldn't help saying. He wasn't surprised when the couple turned to him and he held up his hands saying, "I just thought what if it managed to continue after the tracking was disabled?" He hesitated when they turned back toward the front before he added, "Also… how did we find it?"

"Brad told you, they managed to get a break in the video from that house across from the school where Garnett was picked up," Beckett said, watching her husband starting the car. "And Wade is a car afficionado, he knew it was a Mustang."

"And the owner?" Darnley asked. When his friend looked back at him with a frown he said, "Hey, I'm just checking to see if one of us suddenly remembers something. Don't tell me you haven't done that."

"We have," Castle said. "But we heard it about ten minutes ago."

"I remember what Brad told us," Darnley said. "And Aspinall, that was scary."

"It's an important case," Beckett said with a slight frown.

"You know we could have picked up Mary," Castle said, driving to the last known location of their suspect's car behind Wade's squad car.

"And explained that to Aspinall?" Beckett replied.

"You said Skye was alright," Darnley said. When his friend shrugged he told her, "What're you thinking?"

"It's Skye," Beckett said. "Don't ask me what because-" she then started to say before her text alert interrupted her. She pulled her phone out and said with a frown, "She's… near us."

"What?" Castle and Darnley said at the same time in surprise.

Not answering them, Beckett dialed Skye's number and said as soon as it stopped ringing, "What're you doing?"

"Hold on, I see you down the street," the investigator replied, seeing Nkosi was flashing his lights. She jerked back from the phone when she could hear Darnley in the background yelling his husband's name and said, "We'll talk to you in a second."

"Don't tell Mary," Castle commented, pulling to the curb.

"Tell Mary," Darnley snorted in obvious annoyance. "What about me? He's supposed to be at Rutherford."

"Wait until we talk to them to see," Beckett told the pair, getting out of the car first. "Is this official business?" she asked since Skye was out of Nkosi's car first.

"No, and I don't know how I'm going to explain this to Aspinall," the investigator said. She explained quickly why they had left the airport and said, "Kipling doesn't know why the address is important, but it has to do with his job and his murder." She paused and then said, "Well, I would say his kidnapping and murder."

"Does anyone remember anything new?" Castle asked.

"The four at the event aren't going to," Skye said in a rush, turning away from them.

"Skye," Beckett said when she suddenly stepped into the street. She pulled the investigator back since there was a car approaching and said, "What're you doing?"

"Nothing," Skye said. She wasn't surprised when Beckett was taking her to the sidewalk and away from the others before she began to speak a little severely.

"Don't make me call Mary," Beckett said. "Because-"

"I'm being pulled in two different directions," Skye interrupted her.

"Is it still Kipling?" Beckett asked.

"Yes," Skye replied, looking down the street.

"You passed the house you know," Darnley was telling his husband.

"It…" Nkosi began before looking back the way they'd come.

"Yeah, but we're going this way," Darnley said.

Seeing the investigator's obvious confusion, Castle explained what they'd found out and he asked, "Nothing from the test?"

"Not yet," Nkosi said, once he'd checked his phone.

"I think we need to go this way," Skye said after Beckett had finished telling her about what they'd gotten so far that day.

"Can we walk or do we need the cars?" Beckett asked her.

"You believe me?" Skye asked her.

Giving her a look, Beckett said, "Do we need our cars?" firmly.

"Walk, he's not that far down the street," Skye said. She watched Beckett make a gesture to her husband and the other two men before she said, "I am fine," her friend responding immediately.

"I realize," Beckett said. "We need to go this way," she directed to the others.

"Alright," Castle said. "Should we call Wade though?"

"You were following him?" Nkosi asked in surprise.

"Yeah, he… I guess he didn't see us stop," Castle began to say before looking down the street. "There he is," he said suddenly.

"Where were you guys?" Wade asked once he'd stopped at where they were standing in the street.

"We saw Skye and Trevor," Darnley said.

"Okay," Wade said. "Let me park."

"Actually head down the street that way and park there," Skye said when the others were looking at her.

"Sure," Wade said.

"He knows what happened with Julia," Castle said when the investigator looked at him and his wife.

"Everyone does," Skye said. When the pair nodded, she said, "Alright, we better start walking or he's going to be perturbed again."

"Not that much," Castle said.

"Yeah, he is a nice guy," Darnley added though they were walking down the street.

"We need to cross," Skye said suddenly at the intersection they'd come to. She was first and she called to Beckett, "I looked."

"I noticed," she answered wryly.

"Do you sense anything?" Castle asked his wife.

"Not really," Beckett said. She wasn't surprised when her husband merely nodded and reminded him, "They're staying with her."

"They are," Skye said. "But…"

"What is it?" Darnley asked immediately.

"I see it," Beckett said before she called to Wade who was a little further down the street.

"Taillights," the officer said once he had rejoined them. Peering at the car they could just make out underneath the water filling the irrigation canal for hurricanes. He got his flashlight out and shined it inside to see the license plate before pausing.

"I see something," Beckett said. "Call Brad."

"Don't," Castle said when his wife was starting to go forward.

"I'm not going into the water," Beckett replied immediately before she reached out to her friend.

"Neither am I," Skye said in annoyance. She looked back into the car for a moment before she was turning to the others and said, "I think there's someone inside."
