Houston - Saint Luke's Hospital
The ER doors slid open while Annie, Lisa, Darcy, the gray wolf and the kids rushed in the room. Lisa looked around the room with her eyes as she tried to figure out why they were there and she frowned. She noticed no one seemed to notice them and she placed her hands on her hips.
"Why are we here?" Darcy asked.
"I don't know. Just know we need to be here," Lisa said when Annie felt the cellphone in her jeans pocket vibrating and she removed the cellphone from the pocket of her jeans. Diego had given her his cellphone before he left with Connor and Murphy and she knew he wouldn't have given it to her if it wasn't important. She looked at the text screen when she pushed the button and frowned after reading the text.
"Go that way?" she whispered.
"What?" Lisa asked.
"That's what this says," she said as she showed Lisa and Darcy the text.
"What do you think it means?" Darcy asked.
"It means you need to go the chapel," a voice said and the gray wolf softly barked. They turned to see the man with shaggy dark hair and a full beard and the kids smiled. "Sorry. Didn't mean to scare you."
"Who are you?" Annie asked.
"A friend."
"He's one of the men who rescued us," Lisa explained.
"And you want us to go to the chapel?" Annie asked as she scanned the man with her eyes.
"Yeah," the man said.
"Why should we trust you?"
"Because things will go to shit if you don't," he said and she heard the seriousness in his voice.
"Let's go," Annie said and they followed the man down the hallway. They came to the hospital chapel when the man opened the door and they saw there was no one in the room. An alter was at the back of the room and a wooden cross was over the alter.
"Is this a church?" Chandler asked.
"No. It's the hospital chapel," Darcy said as they walked to the pews and sat down. Annie stayed with the man as he looked at her and she felt like she knew him.
"Go on in," the man said.
"What if I don't?" Annie asked.
"I told you. Things will go to shit if you don't."
"What do you want us to do?"
"Lock the door and pray."
"Pray?"
"Yeah."
Annie felt a cold knot forming in her chest as she nodded and he smiled.
"See you on the flipside," he said as he headed down the hallway and Annie swore that he vanished into thin air.
"Annie!" Lisa called out as Annie turned, walked in the chapel, closed and locked the door and she went to sit on the pew.
Sam Warren's compound
Connor, Diego and Murphy looked around the corner of the building as men carrying rifles walked by and Connor looked at Diego.
"Got any idea where th'main builidn' is?" Connor asked.
"Yeah. It's that way," Diego said as he pointed at the large cement building.
"How did you know that?" Murphy asked.
"Bloom sent me the location in that text I showed you."
"How do we know she isn't playin' us an' leadin' us into a trap?" Connor asked and Diego saw the cold look in his eyes.
"Because she knows what will happen if she does."
Sighing, Connor looked around the corner again when he pointed to the next building and they quickly ran. They stopped near the wall when Connor looked up and he saw the fire escape ladder.
"Gimme a foot up," Connor said.
Cupping his hands, Murphy stood still while Connor placed his right foot in Murphy's hands, placed his hands on Murphy's shoulders then he reached up for the bottom rung of the ladder after Murphy lifted him up.
"Got it," Connor said, wrapping his fingers around the bottom rung and he pulled himself up. Diego and Murphy watched him climb the ladder then Connor pushed the lever to lower the ladder and Diego jumped for the bottom rung of the ladder. After they climbed up the next ladder, Connor tried to open the window and the window opened.
"Eejits," he whispered and they went inside the room then Connor closed the window. They scanned the room with their eyes when Diego pointed to the door and Connor and Murphy nodded. Cautiously, they walked to the door while Diego removed the Barrettas from the back of his jeans and Connor and Murphy removed the Barrettas out of the holsters in the black Navy pea coats. Diego and Murphy pointed the guns at the door as Connor opened the door and pointed the guns at the doorway. Nodding, Diego looked into the hallway as they walked out of the room and held the guns tightly in their hands.
"Now what?" Murphy asked.
"That way," Diego said, pointing down the hallway.
In the room at the end of the hallway, Sam sat at the desk while he looked at the framed photograph of him and Lisa and both of them were smiling. He placed the framed photograph face down on the desk as he sighed and he put his head in his hands.
"Why are you upset?"
"You're dealing drugs out of my ranch!"
"So?"
"So!? Fuck, Sam, do you have any idea what that'll do to my reputation!? We could lose everything!"
"We won't. The people I work for…"
"Will these so-called "people" make sure we don't lose the kids!? Or do Chandler and Peter even matter!?"
Getting up, Sam walked to the window and he looked outside at the compound. He placed his hands behind his back when he thought he saw something in the distance and he frowned.
"What the hell?" he said, removing the walkie-talkie off the windowsill then he pushed the button. "Someone please tell me I don't see helicopters approaching the compound!"
"Uh… Yeah. They are," a voice said after Sam let go of the button.
"And there are trucks and cars heading down the road, too," another voice said.
"I think I see a tank," a third voice said.
"Shit," Sam growled as he put the walkie-talkie on the windowsill then he walked to the desk, pushing a button on his desk.
In the hallway, Connor, Murphy and Diego were startled as the alarm sounded and red light moved over the walls.
"I think we've been made," Diego said.
"If we were then there would be guards floodin' out of th'rooms an' they would be shootin' at us," Connor said
"He's right," Murphy said.
They came to the door at the end of the hallway as they stood on either side of the door and Diego glanced over at Connor and Murphy.
Outside, the helicopters headed for the gate to the compound while the trucks, tank and black sedans headed for the chain link fence and the gate and the guards fired their weapons. The trucks stopped while agents wearing bulletproof body armor and helmets exited the back of the trucks and they fired their weapons. The black sedans stopped while the turret on the top of the tank turned toward the gate and the guards dived out of the way after the turret was fired. The gate exploded while the flames and smoke rose into the air and the helicopters opened fire at the compound.
In his office, Sam had ducked under the desk after the gate exploded when he crawled across the floor then he stopped when the door opened.
"You look good on your knees," Diego said, pointing the Barrettas at Sam. Sam glared at him while Connor and Murphy walked closer and Sam saw the fury in their eyes.
"They're not here," Sam said.
"Yeah. We know that."
"You know?!"
"We found 'em in a house not far from here," Connor said, pointing the Barrettas at him.
"How….!? How did they get there?!"
"Have no idea," Murphy said.
"Then you have no reason to kill me!"
The gunfire grew louder as the sound of the helicopters flying overhead made Sam look at the ceiling and the muscles in Diego's jaw twitch.
"Look! We can make a deal!" Sam said, holding his hands up in surrender.
"Don't think so," Diego said.
"I'm innocent!"
"You work fer the Yakavetta family, right?" Murphy asked.
"Uh… Yeah. How do you know about them?"
"Ever hear of the Saints?" Diego asked.
"Yeah. They killed Papa Joe a few years ago then his kid."
The hard look on Connor and Murphy's faces made Sam start to shake and he lowered his hands.
"No. You're not…," Sam said.
"Aye. We are," Connor said.
"Hold on! I heard you are on some holy mission!"
"We are," Murphy said.
"Then killing me will be an act of revenge, right!?"
Connor and Murphy felt like he had kicked them in the chest.
"He's right," Connor said and they placed the Barrettas in the holsters inside the black Navy pea coats.
"That goes for you, too?! Right!?" Sam asked, looking at Diego.
"Wrong," Diego said as he placed one of the Barrettas in the back of his jeans, point the other at Sam then fired. The bullet cut through Sam's right shoulder as Sam screamed and held onto his shoulder. Diego walked closer when he placed the end of the barrel against Sam's forehead and Sam whimpered.
"And Shepherds we shall be. For Thee, My Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, that our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So, we shall flow a river forth to Thee and teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti!" Diego said, firing the gun.
The back of Sam's head exploded as Diego caught the bullet casing in his right hand and Sam fell to the floor. Before Connor or Murphy could say anything, the sound of footsteps filled the hallway and three agents in bulletproof body armor and helmets ran into the room.
"Drop your weapons! Now!" one of the agents said, pointing his gun at Connor, Murphy and Diego. Diego lowered the Barrettas as they slowly turned around and Connor saw one of the agents' eyes widened.
"Shit!" the agent shouted.
"It's them!" another agent said and the agents fired their guns
Connor, Murphy and Diego felt the impact of the bullets hitting their bodies and the last thing Connor heard before he passed out was someone yelling for them to stop.
"I said stop!" Eunice shouted after she and Smecker ran into the room and she looked at Connor, Murphy, Diego and Sam.
"Shit," Paul said after he walked to Connor and he knelt down next to him. He stood up and he pushed the button to the microphone pinned to the collar of his jacket. "Agents down! I need a medical evac now!"
A short time later, Connor, Murphy and Diego were carefully loaded into the helicopter while Eunice got in with them and she looked at them lying on the stretchers. She had told Smecker to use the other helicopter as the helicopter rose into the air and she held onto Diego's left hand.
Houston - Saint Luke's Hospital
The helicopter landed on the helipad as the doors opened and the doctors and nurses pushing gurneys ran toward the helicopter. The stretchers with Connor, Murphy and Diego on them were quickly removed from the helicopter then they were placed on the gurneys and Eunice got out of the helicopter, watching the doctors and nurses pushing the gurneys to the doors. The doors hissed open while the doctors and nurses pushed the gurneys and Connor barely opened his eyes. He watched the blurry lights moving by as he felt the pain moving through him and he slowly parted his lips.
"Christ," he whispered then closed his eyes.
"Lord's name," Murphy whispered and the gurneys headed for the ER examination rooms.
Minutes later, Diego, Murphy and Connor were placed on the operating tables, covered with surgical blankets and the surgeons started operating after Connor, Murphy and Diego were put to sleep. The soft beeping sounds fill the room when the beeping sounds changed and the surgeons looked at the screens to the heart monitors.
"Damn! He's crashing!" the surgeons said then a soft droning sound filled the room.
In the hospital chapel, Annie sat on the front pew as she looked at the wooden cross over the alter and she sighed. She had told Lisa and Darcy they had to pray and she turned to see them sitting on the pews and they had their eyes closed. The kids were also praying and she turned back to look at the wooden cross over the alter.
"Hello," made her jump when she turned and saw a man standing next to the pew. He had white curly hair and a full beard and she saw the sadness in his eyes. He was dressed in a black shirt, a black Navy pea coat, black pants, a black leather belt, black socks, black shoes and his black flat cap was in his hands. "Sorry. I didn't mean t'scare you."
"How…?! How did you get in here?! I locked the door," Annie said as she turned to look back at the door. She noticed Lisa, Darcy nor the kids seemed to notice the man and the gray wolf was sleeping near her feet.
"I need you t'come with me."
"No."
"Just fer a few seconds."
Something about the man made her feel safe as she stood and the gray wolf woke and fell in next to her. They walked to the door at the back of room, but neither Lisa, Darcy or the kids looked at them and they left the room. They headed down the hallway when they arrived at the ER entrance and he motioned for her to go against the wall. She peeked out to see people dressed in black body armor, riot helmets and black boots run in the room and she saw FBI painted on the front of the body armor.
"Shit," she whispered.
"Damn it. You promised me they would be safe after you talked t'them," the man said as he looked up at the ceiling and she wondered what he was talking about.
"Are you alright?" she asked and he sweetly smiled at her.
"Aye. I'm fine."
She looked to see Eunice walking into the room and the man lightly tapped Annie's left shoulder.
"We gotta go back," the man whispered.
They headed up the hallway when he opened the chapel door and she and the gray wolf headed back into the chapel. She looked into the man's sad eyes as he sighed and she felt like she knew him.
"Lock th'door behind you an' pray like you've never prayed before," he said.
"Why?"
"They're gonna need it."
She watched the man close the door then she turned to look back at the wooden cross. She sighed as she opened the door, but the man was gone. She looked one way then the other when she closed and locked the door. She walked slowly down the aisle when she sat on the pew, closed her eyes and started praying.
Ireland
The bedroom was dark while Annabelle rested under the bedding and she had her rosary in her right hand. She wasn't sure, but she felt like she needed it.
She had been worrying about her children and she had gone to church every day. She prayed hard for their safety and for forgiveness after she blamed Noah for what had happened.
She moved the bedding up and she made a little whimpering sound.
The first thing she noticed was she was standing on the top of a large hill and the grass was blowing in the wind.
The second thing she noticed was the homestead. Noah had taken her there a few times, but she hated being so isolated.
The final thing she realized was sense of doom surrounding her.
"Hullo, Ann."
"Noah!" she growled after she recognized the voice. "Where are you?!"
"Behind you."
She turned to see Noah and the wind blew his white curly hair around his head. He was dressed in a black shirt, a black Navy pea coat, black pants, a black leather belt, black socks, black shoes and his black flat cap was in his hands.
"What do you want!?" she asked, folding her arms under her breasts.
"I want you t'pray," he said.
"Pray?! Why?!"
"They are in trouble."
"I know that an' it's yer fault."
"I didn't say it wasn't. But now isn't th'time fer us t'argue."
She heard the urgency in his voice and she lowered her arms.
"What happened?"
"It's not what happened. It's about what might happen."
"Stop talkin' in riddles!"
"This," he said and she looked to where he was pointing.
Sticking out of the ground were two headstones and the dirt was piled on top of two freshly dug graves. Slowly, Annabelle walked to the graves when she read the names on the headstones and her eyes widened.
"No!" she called out as Annabelle sat up and the bedding fell around her waist.
"Ann!" Sibeal called out as the bedroom door opened and he ran into the room. He headed for the bed as Doc ran in the room and Sibeal held Annabelle.
"What happened?" Doc asked.
"No! Please, God, no! Not my boys!" Annabelle sobbed and Sibeal hushed her.
"What are you talkin' about?" Sibeal asked.
"They're dead!"
"No. They're not. Calm down an' tell me what happened."
Annabelle took a few deep breaths when she told them about the nightmare and Doc walked to the bed, sitting on the foot of the bed.
"Fuck," Doc whispered.
"If anythin' had happened t'either of them then I'm sure Annie would have called us," Sibeal said.
Annabelle knew he was right, but the cold feeling in her chest told her differently and she shook her head.
"Not if she didn't know," Annabelle said.
Sibeal gently rocked her as Annabelle started crying and Doc lightly patted her left leg.
"You mentioned that Noah wanted us t'pray. Do you want t'do that?" Sibeal asked.
"Aye," Annabelle said as she nodded his head. Holding her, Sibeal watched Doc and Annabelle close their eyes and they started praying.
Unknown location
Murphy opened his eyes when he felt the cool air moving over him and his eyes adjusted to the darkness. He noticed he was in what looked like McGinty's, but the sense of peace and dread moving through him wasn't there the last time he had seen the bar.
"Here," Connor said as he slid the glass of whiskey toward him and Murphy picked up the glass. Connor was sitting to his left and Murphy could see Diego sitting to Connor's left.
"Where are we?" Diego asked.
"It's supposed t'be McGinty's," Murphy said.
"It's a bar we used t'go to back in Boston," Connor said.
"Why are we here?" Diego asked.
"I think Connor an' I were th'only ones who were supposed t'be here," Murphy said, taking a sip of the whiskey.
"Guess you have t'do whatever we're gonna do," Connor said, taking a sip of whiskey.
"And what is that exactly?" Diego asked, arching his eyebrows up.
"You're here to be judged for the actions you did in life then a decision will be made," made Diego look at the two men behind the bar. One man had shaggy dark hair and a full beard and the other man has slick backed black hair.
"Hey, Rocco," Murphy said as he picked up the lighter and the cigarette sitting on the bar and he lit the cigarette with the lighter after placing the end of the cigarette in his mouth.
"Hey, Romeo," Connor said, taking the lighter from his twin then he lit the other cigarette with the lighter after placing the end of the cigarette in his mouth. Neither had smoked since arriving at the ranch, but they felt like they deserved one last cigarette.
"Well… I know my life hasn't been perfect. Wasn't much of a church goer, but I do believe in God and Heaven. I'm also reckless. Not really caring about my life when others were in danger. That's why I… Why I keep dying. Well, almost dying," Diego said then took a long drink of whiskey.
"Do you still want to do it?" Rocco asked.
"Hell no. I got other things to do."
"Like marrying our sister," Murphy said, slightly tipping the glass at him.
"Right."
"You love her that much?" Romeo asked.
"Yep," Diego said with a nod.
"You want to grow old with her? Have kids? Shit like that?" Rocco asked.
"Yep."
"Do you regret what you've done and want to be forgiven?"
"Yep."
"What about you, Murphy? Do you have the commitment, constitution and faith to keep going?" Romeo asked. Murphy smoked for a few seconds then he put the cigarette out in the ashtray.
"I have th'constitution an' th'faith, but not th'commitment. Not anymore," Murphy said.
"Why not?" Rocco asked.
"When this all started? I was excited. We were gonna do shit no one wanted t'do. We were takin' down evil. Makin' 'em pay fer what they did. Then…"
"I died."
"Aye," he said with a nod. "But we both knew you would want us t'keep goin'. We did. We took out Yakavetta. Was it revenge? Aye. It was. But it was also what we thought we had t'do. Maybe that's why I couldn't find peace."
"Do you have peace now?" Romeo asked and Murphy nodded.
"Never thought I would find a woman t'settle down with. T'love an' wanna grow old with. Never saw myself as a dad either. Shit. Mark may not be my son, but I see a lot of me in him. Nichole?! She needs a papa and I want that t'be me."
"Do you want to be forgiven for everything you've done?" Romeo asked and Murphy nodded.
"What about you, Connor? Do you have the commitment, constitution and faith to keep going?" Rocco asked.
"Like my brudder, I do have th'constitution an' th'faith, but not th'commitment. Not anymore," Connor said then he took a long drag of the cigarette before putting the cigarette out in the ashtray. "When all this started? I dug in with both hands an' planted my feet firmly in th'ground. We were makin' a difference an' it didn't matter if I got hurt. It had t'be done. Then…"
"I died."
"I blamed myself fer th'longest time afterwards. You didn't have t'die."
"It was my time."
"What about you, Romeo? Was it yer time, too?" he asked, looking at Romeo.
"I guess," Romeo said with a shrug of his shoulders. "But I never wanted you two to feel guilty about it. I wanted in and I don't regret what we did."
"I regret it. I regret that we got you involved in another act of revenge when our priest died. I also regret gettin' rid of Yakavetta. Even if he did deserve it."
Connor paused to take a long drink of whiskey and he placed the glass on the bar.
"I never thought I would find a woman t'settle down with. Someone who loves me fer who I am an' I love her fer who she is. Her sons? I told her that I want t'pull out all th'rot an' weeds their father planted an' put in new seeds. T'help them be th'person I know they can be. Will they turn into me? I hope not. I'm me an' that's enough," Connor said with a smile.
"Do you want to be forgiven for everything you've done?" Rocco asked and Connor nodded.
"And you want to stop?" Romeo asked.
"Aye," Connor and Murphy said at the same time.
"But we hope we'll be able to stand by His side an' be counted as one of his Saints at some point," Connor said, looking up at the bright light above them.
"What about you," Romeo asked Diego. "You want to stop?"
"Been trying to, but people keep showing up and pulling me back into the game," Diego said with a sigh. "Yeah. I wanna stop."
Romeo and Rocco looked at each other for a long time then looked at Diego, Connor and Murphy.
"A decision has been made," Romeo said with a cold tone to his voice.
"Now it is the time for judgement," Rocco said with a colder tone to his voice.
"What are you talkin' about?" Connor asked with a confused look on his face
Diego noticed the air was becoming warmer as the bright light moved over his legs and he looked at Connor and Murphy.
"Uh, guys….," he said and Connor and Murphy looked at the bright light moving over their legs.
"Take my hand," Connor said, holding out his left hand and Diego grabbed hold, wrapping their fingers together.
"Don't leave without me," Murphy said, grabbing hold of Connor's right hand with his left hand.
"Never. We entered this world together. We might as well leave together," Connor said while tightly wrapping their fingers together and the bright light flared.
Houston - Saint Luke's Hospital – ICU Room Three
The nurses checked the monitors of the heart monitors while the beeping sounds and the soft hissing sounds filled the air and they wrote the information in the charts in their hands.
Connor slept in the bed in the middle, Murphy slept in the bed to his right and Diego slept in the bed to his left.
Two guards dressed in black body armor and black leather boots stood on either side of the doorway and FBI was printed on the front of the vests.
Suddenly, Connor, Diego and Murphy's eyes opened as Connor slowly turned his head to the right. Murphy turned his head to the left as he smiled at his twin then Connor slowly turned his head to left. He looked at Diego and Diego turned his head to the right. They smiled at each other and Connor, Murphy and Diego closed their eyes while the nurses shrugged their shoulders as they looking at each other.
