A/N: Welcome back to another chapter! This time with a special announcement, for the next 3 weeks, you'll be getting chapters of both Heart of a Hero and Sphinx Club every Friday. That's twice as much DasChillyOne writing as you were getting before! I do hope that people from this fic are willing to check out Heart of a Hero, I know it's in a fandom that's a lot less popular, and being a crossover doesn't do it any favors, but I promise it's good! It certainly gets to the romance much faster than Sphinx Club did, mostly since characters started that fic at age 14 instead of 11. Anyway, on with the chapter!

A week had passed since the four Champions had begun working with the Sphinx Club on preparations for the tournament, and while the older three Champions had been somewhat wary about how useful the younger students would be as a resource, they had been sufficiently impressed by what had transpired.

"Now, the flame-freezing charm takes a moment to come into effect, sources range from one to five seconds depending on how powerful the wizard is. Our tests have shown that all of you are pretty powerful, but I would still recommend three seconds of delay for you all. Just to be safe." Hermione said, reading from the book. "I am not entirely certain why they call it the Flame-Freezing charm instead of the Fire-Resistance one, since it does not actually freeze any flames, but that is largely besides the point at the moment. The incantation is Ignis Resistencia. The book makes no mention of any specific wand movements, but that's not unheard of for higher level charms like this. The four of you should try casting it a few times and see if you can feel the effects. Then we will have Marianne conjure some fire to test it."

"'Arry, should I be concerned that your girlfriend is trying to set me on fire?" Fleur asked, readying her wand.

"Considering she's also trying to set me on fire? Let's hope not. I'd hate to think what I've done to make her mad. Ignis Resistencia." Harry said before he cast the spell. There was a kind of tingling sensation that at least seemed to imply that the spell worked, but the only real way to tell would be to set him on fire. He wasn't quite ready for that yet.

"I would think that fire would be a decently common obstacle for you to encounter. Harry encountered it in the gauntlet during his first year, and I would imagine many of the same people would be making these trials." Hermione said, reading through another book. "The other trials you all should already have plenty of spells for. Lumos or Incendio for Devil's Snare, Accio for the key puzzle if you don't simply pull a Harry and grab it with a broom. While ideally you won't need to fight a Troll, I trust that each of you would be capable of doing so. The chess puzzle gives me pause, but I would hope that they wouldn't attempt something like that. Being good at chess is not necessarily a skill that proves how capable a wizard is."

"I would think a logic puzzle might be something they might need to do though." Cho brought up from her place on a nearby couch. "A good wizard can think through things like that. Should we perhaps make some for them to reason out? I'm sure some of the upper year Ravenclaws have a few."

"It'd certainly help, I still have no idea how you Ravenclaws solve riddles to get into your dorm room." Cedric said, getting used to the Flame-Freezing charm's effect on his body.

"That did always strike me as slightly non-secure though. A password makes sense since it's inherently a little secure, but a riddle is solvable by anyone who can think it through. It's not like the only smart people in the school are Ravenclaws." Harry wondered aloud.

"That is a good thought, but we will need to think about it another time. Do you guys think you are ready to try your Flame-Freezing charms?" Hermione asked, seeing that the four champions had each stopped casting and were feeling the effects.

"I'm ready to give it a shot. Let me re-cast it to double check the feeling." Harry said, before casting the spell again and waiting a few seconds. "Go ahead and give me a flame Marianne."

"Incendio!" Marianne said, letting forth a small gout of flame. Harry placed his hand near it, and found that the heat didn't bother him. Feeling brave, he stuck his hand in the flame and felt naught but tickles.

"Seems like it works. Want to see if it's a full body thing? Padma, Hermione, Aguamenti at the ready please!" Harry said, standing in front of Marianne. "Hit me with your best shot."

"Incendio Maxima!" Marianne said, pouring her magic into the flame spell she cast. The resulting burst of flame that came forth from her wand hit Harry square in the chest, and he looked oddly at it.

"It doesn't hurt, it's a bit warm, like wearing a sweater on an already hot day. Certainly better than being on fire though." Harry said, looking at Marianne. "Don't know how I feel about the fact that you literally went all out on me though."

"You did ask for my best shot, I don't expect the tournament to pull any punches as is the English expression." Marianne said, stopping her flames.

"She is correct about that, there's no mention of anyone experiencing a phenomenon like that, though there is mention of warm summer breezes. Maybe no one has ever really tried pushing the limits of the spell? Regardless, Marianne's spell I would think is on the higher end of what you might expect, so minor discomfort from it is likely a good outcome." Hermione said, nodding to herself. "Admittedly, a better outcome would be no fire at all, so take care to remember that you have access to water charms to put out fires."

"This is good. I had not expected these sessions to be working so well." Viktor said, as he had his turn with Marianne's fire. "No pain, I will agree with Harry about it being somewhat uncomfortable, it was hotter for me, but that may be because of the thick furs."

"It would be nice if we could figure out what the tasks are though. While this Flame-Freezing spell is nice, it won't exactly be helpful if our first task is spelunking in a cave full of zombies." Cedric said, having his turn with the spell. "I'd put mine as definitely hot, but more like standing next to a fire than being inside one. Maybe I'm not putting enough power in the spell? Either way, still a significant improvement."

"I agree that it would help." Fleur said, having her turn with the flames. "As a veela, my tolerance to fire is inherently higher than the boys, but with the flame freezing spell I would put this as a breeze on a hot day. I do believe that this might simply be a more direct flame than many expect the flame-freezing spell to deal with, given it was initially used against mundane fires used in Witch-hunts, while Marianne is an incredibly powerful witch in the first place, not to mention her fire affinity from her Veela heritage."

"You're veela too Marianne?" Harry asked, looking at the younger french girl. Mentioning it now, he wasn't surprised. Marianne was certainly incredibly pretty enough, that was certain.

"Yes, I'm surprised you hadn't noticed. I had attempted to hit you with my allure once or twice, but you were entirely oblivious." Marianne said.

"'Arry seems nearly completely immune. Even Mother at full blast was unable to control him." Fleur said, looking over at Harry proudly. "It is a shame he is so thoroughly taken. A veela would snatch him up in an instant."

"Why is that?" Daphne asked, looking over at the group.

"One of the most attractive traits a man can have for a veela is allure resistance. It means that any feelings they develop are for you, not for the allure. Harry is already quite a catch to begin with. Mother had hoped I would attract him while I was here." Marianne said, rolling her eyes a bit. "If she knew he was allure resistant, she'd be sending a marriage contract over immediately."

"Is it really that desirable?" Harry asked, a little flushed.

"It is the reason my parents are together. Father is attractive, but fairly average in many respects. His resistance to my mother's allure however is higher than most wizards could manage. It got her interested." Fleur said. "It is not the only factor a relationship can be built off of, but for veela it is a strong start."

"So are either of you trying to take him?" Daphne asked with a wry smile.

"I would not be opposed if Harry wanted me. I can admit he is easy on the eyes, and a more than acceptable dueling rival. However I believe I have another I am interested in, the presence of you girls makes him a slightly more appealing target." Marianne said. "If you wish to share with another though… arrangements can be made."

"Marianne!" Fleur scolded.

"It is largely in good fun." Marianne said. "Seeing Harry blush so much is very amusing."

Fleur turned to Harry, and saw that he was indeed beet red. "I see, in that case would the offer for another be open to myself? While I do scold Marianne, I cannot fault her taste."

"Padma help!" Harry said, trying to hide behind his girlfriend.

"Don't look at me, you're the one who is apparently a chick magnet." Padma said, moving him in front of her. "Come on ladies, take a spin on Mr. Potter! Three nuts a pop!"

"Only that much? I believe that is a steal." Fleur said, making her way towards Harry.

"Agreed." Marianne said, approaching.

The laughter that came from the others did not make Harry feel better about this at all.

Harry had been called out of class for the "Weighing of the Wands" a ceremonial part of the Tri-Wizard tournament that had the three, or in this case, four champions have their wands evaluated. Harry arrived in the classroom that was to hold these weighings, happy to see that the other champions had already arrived, alongside some familiar faces. Mr. Ollivander, who he had purchased his wand from, was in attendance, with Tracey standing alongside him, waving happily at Harry when he entered. The other friendly face he saw was Lavender, who was speaking with her mother. As Harry stepped in, Dumbledore greeted him.

"Ah, hello Harry. It is good you finally made it. We worried when you hadn't shown up sooner, but realized that you were on the opposite end of the school." Dumbledore said. "Come come, the Wand Weighing ceremony is very important."

"That it is Mr. Dumbledore, and I am very excited to get started. I very rarely get to handle wands I did not make nowadays, so I am ready to begin." Mr. Ollivander said, who despite his old age seemed positively giddy with excitement.

"Good, perhaps we should begin then. Mr. Crouch, Mr. Bagman, would you please join myself and the other Headmasters in front of the classroom?" Dumbledore said, and the two men nodded as they came up.

"I believe we should do this in the order that they emerged from the Goblet, as such, Mr. Krum would be first." Dumbledore said, stepping back to allow Karkaroff and Krum to step forward to the small podium.

Mr. Ollivander came up, Tracey following him, as he reached for Viktor's wand. "Who is this girl? Why is she present?" Karkaroff asked.

"She is my assistant, and I suspect she will be assisting my grandson with the shop when I eventually retire. I assure you, she has my full confidence as a wandsmith and expert. I would allow her to do this ceremony herself, but I am far too excited for this chance." Ollivander said. Harry smiled from the sidelines. He imagined hearing such words from her idol was a nice pick-me-up for Tracey.

"It is no worry Headmaster Karkaroff, Tracey is a friend." Viktor said.

"If you would hand me your wand Mr. Krum." Ollivander said, holding out his hand. Viktor handed over his wand for Ollivander to examine. "Ah yes, Ten and a quarter, Hornbeam and Dragon Heartstring. Quite thick as well. Rigid. Perfect for someone with intense determination like yourself Mr. Krum. A Gregorovitch made wand if there ever was one. Simple and Strong." Ollivander gave a wave of the wand, and summoned a small bird which perched on the end of it. "In fine working order Mr. Krum. Although I believe my assistant has noticed something."

"Yes, your wand is showing some minor weathering where the handle curves. I believe you may be polishing too hard, or using a polish with too heavy of a grit." Tracey said, her eyes on Viktor's wand.

"Yes, now that you point it out I can see it as well. It is always good to catch such things early. I can tell you take fine care of your wand son, it just helps to remember sometimes things need a gentler touch." Ollivander said with a smile.

"Thank you sir. Tracey, you will need to suggest a different wand polish for myself then. We will talk later." Viktor said, smiling at Tracey.

"Next would be Fleur Delacour I believe?" Bartemous Crouch said, as she and Madame Maxine walked up to the podium.

"Ah, Miss Delacour. Your wand is as beautiful and elegant as you are. Nine and a half, Rosewood and… hmm. Well, this will pose a bit of a problem." Ollivander said.

"I imagined it might. My wand core is of course, Veela hair, specifically from my grandmother, only those I love would be able to cast any spell with it." Fleur stated. "I will of course demonstrate if you require."

"Yes, please do so for me, miss. While I am quite sure your wand functions properly, as it is well cared for, I must see it perform with my own eyes as it were." Ollivander said, and Fleur gave a small flourish of her wand, summoning a small bouquet of flowers.

"Splendid. It seems to be in fine working order. I'm unfamiliar with the make of it though, would you care to tell me who made it?" Ollivander asked.

"I'm afraid I do not know her name, only that she has made the wands for the colony of Veela my great-grandmother came from since she was a little girl. Our wands are always custom made by a veela." Fleur said, and Ollivander clapped a little.

"Oh, how exciting. Were I younger I would set out on an expedition to meet this woman! Unfortunately my expedition days are well behind me. Perhaps Ms. Davis here will go in my stead once she takes over." Ollivander said, his eyes aglow with a childish wonder. This man obviously loved wandcraft. "Your wand is in perfect working order Ms. Delacour, I hope you find another capable of using it someday."

"I thank you Mr. Ollivander. I believe you are up next Mr. Diggory." Fleur said, stepping back with Maxine to allow Dumbledore and Cedric to step up to the platform.

"Ah! Mr. Diggory, I remember the day you stepped into my shop for your wand. Took us quite a while to find this one, but it's a good one. Twelve and a quarter, Ash wood, hair from the angriest male unicorn I had ever seen. Nearly gored me when I tried to collect some hair, but I managed, and it brought us both here today. Pleasantly springy and well cared for. As fine of a wand as I've ever made." Ollivander said, before giving it a wave. Several silvery smoke rings appeared from the tip. "In fine working order. Thank you Mr. Diggory, for allowing me to see an old friend again."

"And thank you Mr. Ollivander, for providing me with a wand that I believe will serve me well for my entire life." Cedric said, shaking Ollivander's hand.

"Now on to Mr. Potter I believe. I'm quite excited to see his wand again. It sat around in my shop for over fifty years after all, before it found its match." Ollivander reminisced. "Eleven even. Holly wood and Phoenix Feather, a unique combination if there ever was one. Nice and supple." Ollivander said, as he conjured a small goblet with Harry's wand. "While it seems to have no real desire to work with me anymore, it is in fine working order for Mr. Potter. I declare that all of the Champion's wands are fit for competition!"

A small round of applause came from the crowd at that statement, and a few additional pictures were taken. As the excitement was dying down though, a woman in a green blouse approached Harry. "Ah! Harry Potter, youngest tri-wizard champion, and first ever fourth champion to ever be in the competition. Would you be willing to sit in for an interview with me?" The woman asked. Harry paused for a second not really sure what to do.

"He'll be interviewing with me, actually Rita." Came a voice Harry recognized as Mrs. Brown, Lavender's mother.

"Don't you have a piece on Witch's fashion to write Brown? I'm here for the real reporting." Rita said, glaring at her.

"Neither of you are getting exclusives." Lavender said, moving to Harry's side.

"Little girl, who do you think you are to say that?" Rita asked, looking at Lavender with thinly veiled annoyance.

"Harry Potter's publicist, at your service." Lavender said. Once she said it, Harry was immediately glad, and was more than happy to say she had the title for as long as she wanted it.

"Haha dearie, that's cute. Now please, let mommy get her interview." Mrs. Brown said.

"No exclusives. Harry speaks openly before multiple reporters or not at all. There will be no sensationalization done of my client on my watch." Lavender said. "If any of the other reporters would like to ask questions, please take seats and we will begin with questions and answers shortly. I will ask if the other Champions would also like to answer any questions."

"She is very good." Viktor leaned down and whispered in Harry's ear. "My publicist backs down much easier."

"Provided you moderate for us Lavender, I believe I would be open for an interview." Fleur said.

"As would I." Viktor added.

"No problems answering a few questions if people have them." Came Cedric's reply.

"Good. Now, standard Q and A rules, dicta quills ONLY. I see a Quick Quotes Quill, the interview is over and I'm snapping it." Lavender said, lining up the Champions on the stage.

The Q and A section lasted roughly an hour, with several reporters for various publications asking questions. Lavender moderated the event well, immediately shutting down questions that weren't related to the tournament, even when those questions came from her own mother. Harry had been insanely nervous when the prospect of an interview came up, but seeing how Lavender took over, it calmed his worries about any future ones immensely. Harry imagined someday he'd need to hire a real publicist. He hoped Lavender would be interested in the position then.

The next morning, Harry and company were having breakfast as they prepared for classes. He was pleasantly surprised when someone came up to say hello.

"Hey Harry! Heard you were in this tournament. Sorry to hear that, but I'm sure you'll do great. As long as you've been hitting the books, I'm sure you'll manage." Charlie Weasley said, smiling at the boy he considered a younger brother.

"Charlie? What are you doing here?" Harry asked, surprised to see the man. He lived in Romania at the dragon reserve after all.

"Work called me up here. Can't talk about what though, I'll get in trouble. Figured I'd stop in and see my brothers and sister while I'm here, and that DOES include you Harry, even if Nym and I aren't really planning on tying the knot soon." Charlie said, laughing a bit.

"When DO you plan to make my sister an honest woman Charlie?" Harry said with a fake glare, the two of them laughed it off though.

"There's nothing to make that woman honest, but we've talked about maybe doing it once I can move back here permanently. I'm at the reserve for a few more years before I get my Beast-Handling Mastery. Once I've got that, I might find a creature reserve up here that needs me, or teach here at good old Hogwarts. Hopefully England gets a Dragon preserve though, THAT's what I'd really want." Charlie said. "You didn't hear it from me, little man. We agreed we weren't telling your mom and dad yet. Nym and I love each other, but we're both a little skittish about the whole actual marriage thing. We figure by the time I've got that sorted, we'll either know that we're really ready for it, or at least have a better idea. Or maybe she'll wise up and find a better bloke. I know she's too good for me as it is." Charlie laughed.

"You're a good guy Charlie, I'd be happy to have you as a brother-in-law, and you already know Mom and Dad like you. You didn't get added to the family Christmas cookie display for nothing." Harry said.

"I know, I know. It's just a big thing. Marriage for a Weasley usually ends in kids, and if my mom's any indication, quite a few. I'm not certain I'm ready for that kind of thing." Charlie said.

"I'm sure you'd be a great dad, but it's not like there's any rush. You and Nym have until your 40s before you even need to start worrying about kids, and it's not like there's going to be a shortage of Weasley's anytime soon." Harry said.

"You're right on that. Gotta go find Ginny and give her a hug. Stay safe Harry, and hit those books!" Charlie said, walking off.

Harry thought for a second before dropping his fork onto his breakfast.

"Harry?" Hermione asked, looking worriedly at him. The look on his face was blank, but worried her immensely.

"It's dragons." Harry said flatly.

"What?" Hermione asked.

"The First Task, it's Dragons!" Harry said, his nerves kicking in.

"How do you know?" Padma asked, looking at him.

"Charlie is HERE for work, and he works at a dragon sanctuary. He's also NEVER told me to hit the books, he always reminds me to take breaks from class. Charlie gives me books on dragons every year for my birthday, hitting the books was him implying I needed to look over them. He can't TELL me that he's here for the tournament, because he's technically tournament staff and can't overtly tell me anything, but he didn't say anything that would give him away, unless I happened to know everything I did. To an outside observer, everything he did was above board, but to me, that's everything he needed to do to tell me about the task and what I need to do about it." Harry said. "We'll have to tell the others as soon as we can, and double down on how to prepare. Looks like Cedric was wrong, the Flame-Freezing spell WILL be useful."

"We'll get you and everyone ready Harry. Now that we know, we can focus even harder on what will make you all do well." Padma said, rubbing his back. "You can calm down. You've faced a Basilisk and who knows how many dementors. You can handle a dragon."

"Let's hope Padma, let's hope." Harry said, nerves certainly welling up in his stomach
