Here we are a new story in a new fandom!
Danny: New fandom?
New as never published anything here before.
Danny: Ah. Fair point.
Well either way hope you all enjoy this story!
I don't own Danny Phantom, if I did Dani would have had more screen time.
The Ghost Zone, an endless green void, within it was scatterings of rocks, buildings, doors and landmasses. As the name implies, this is the realm of ghosts. Some are born within this realm others though were once human but passed on. It is common to see a new ghost appear…
KABOOM!
Though not many make quite the entrance this one did. From a massive dust cloud a figure came rocketing out with smoke trailing behind them only stopping once they cratered into one of the many floating purple rocks.
Groaning they began to slowly stand up. As the smoke cleared it revealed the being within the crater. He stood at six foot five or seven, pale skin with black rags protecting his modesty. In fact, he would look perfectly human if it weren't for a few features that would catch anyone's attention. At the tips of his fingers were talons that began to sink back inside, from his back sprouted a pair of black draconic wings with white membrane, a pair of sharp vampiric fangs jutted out of his mouth, two sets of eyes of solid haunting green and finally his hair was entirely made of white flames with green flames flickering the edges.
"Where, where am I?" He said as he looked around before a thought came to him. "Who am I?" Shaking his head, he tries to remember anything. A fight, yelling, sparks and that's it. Nothing else. Letting out a frustrated sigh he took off in a random direction hoping to find some answers.
Elsewhere
"There's nowhere to run punks!" Bullet barked out as he and several of Walker's police ghosts chased down Ember Mclain, Kitty, and Johnny 13.
"That's what you think dipstick!" The rocker yelled out as she was really cursing her luck right now. Things were going fine until these losers showed up. Kitty and her grease monkey were hanging out with her at one of the local hot spots to as Kitty put it "Put her in a better mood" after she finally gave Skulker the boot. Which was okay even if she felt like the third wheel, but she couldn't say no to one of the few ghosts she views as a sister.
Then Bullet showed up charging them with noise violations and speeding despite the fact that he had no authority outside Walker's prison, of course that didn't stop them before. Launching a musical note at the corrupt police ghosts Ember turned to the others.
"Any bright ideas to get away from these dipsticks?"
"Keep running and pick them off one by one?" Johnny suggested. Ember grimaced, it wasn't a bad plan, heck it was probably the best plan she could think of too. The problem was they were outnumbered three to one and it takes one lucky shot for them to be cuffed. Taking a glace back Ember never saw the winged ghost in front of her until it was too late.
Crash!
In a tangle of limbs the two ghost spun around before stopping.
"Hey, watch where you're going dipstick!"
"Me?! You're the one flying without looking where you're going!" The winged ghost replied.
"Ember!" Kitty yelled out. Looking away from the strange ghost she saw that they were surrounded by Bullet and his goons.
"Well, well, well not only will we get three of our bounties but another arrest as well." Bullet said as he looks at the unknown ghost.
"Seriously what did I do?"
"Indecent exposure."
"Hey I woke up like this when I got here. Wherever here is?" The unknown ghost grumbled.
"Aw a newbie, well don't worry you'll get plenty of time to learn the rules in prison. I'm thinking a hundred, three hundred years." Bullet said making the "newbie" growl.
"If you think I'm letting you arrest me for some bull-." He couldn't finish as Bullet shot him with his taser gun. The moment the unknown ghost was wrapped in the wires he pressed the button causing it to shock the unknown ghost.
"Oh, I think you will." Bullet grinned but it quickly died when he saw the unknown ghost's eyes turn yellow and he began to glow turning the wires wrapping him yellow as well. Remembering what happened with the halfa, Bullet let go of his taser just in time for the now yellow wires to overload it, causing it to explode.
"Alight jerk wad. I don't know where I am or where I'm from. But what I do know you're about to get your teeth kicked in." The unknown ghost flew at Bullet and swung a punch at his head.
"Get the others! I'll deal with this criminal!" Bullet ordered. The other ghosts charged the trio with batons ready but the three weren't going down without a fight. Ember charged up a fist at the police ghost making them scatter while Johnny sent out his shadow as he punched a corrupt cop. Kitty managed to banish one with one of her kisses before blasting another.
Bullet grunted as he was punched with a fist covered in lightning. He was not in a good spot right now. He wasn't the strongest ghost out there; he was only capable of the most basic of ghostly abilities and this new ghost was obviously stronger. Growling he turned invisible and went around the new ghost before aiming a kick to the back, but before he could make contact the new ghost turned intangible and blasted Bullet with lightning.
"Oh, come on. That was so obvious, have you ever fought without gadgets or numbers?" The new ghost mocked. Growling in anger, Bullet pulled out his blaster and shot at the ghost in front of him. The new ghost created a shield blocking the blast. He then blasted the weapon with lightning destroying it. Seeing his chances of victory dwindle the corrupt cop flew off.
With the others, things were going well. Without a large numbers advantage Walker's men weren't much trouble. Johnny and Shadow were able to knock out two more while Kitty got another one. Ember was too busy hitting one over his head to notice one was behind her with a nightstick raised.
ZAP
At least until a blast of lightning struck the ghost cop. Turning to see what happened, Ember simply saw the new ghost smirking.
"You're welcome."
"I had it handled."
"Oh yeah, I'm sure getting knocked out was all part of your plan." The new ghost said sarcastically. Before Ember could say anything, Kitty decided to play peacekeeper.
"Thanks for helping us. You said you were new, right? What's your name?"
"I don't know. A lot of my memory is a blank." The new ghost said as he closed his eyes trying to remember.
"Ouch, that happens at times. Don't worry, your memories will come back in time. Until then why don't you come with us."
"What?!" Johnny, Ember, and the new ghost said at once.
"Babe what are you thinking?" Johnny asked.
"Yeah Kitty, we just met the dipstick."
"For a couple of reasons. First, he's new with no memory can either of you honestly leave any ghost like that?" Seeing neither of them look comfortable with that thought Kitty continued.
"Second, he helped us with Bullet. Third, Walker and his men are going to come after all of us so it's safer in numbers for the time being." Once again, the other two couldn't deny her logic. Walker uses numbers to corner and whittle down a ghost. Staying in a group did improve their chances.
"Alright babe, I'm in. Hey Newbie, you think you can keep up?" Johnny said as he revved up his motorcycle.
Having no other options, Newbie nodded his head before asking. "Where are we going?"
"My and Kitty's lair and before you ask, a lair is basically any ghost's home, and they are based on how powerful you are and what's your interest are." Johnny replied. The group flew quietly for the next few minutes until they arrived at what looked like a garage door. Once it opened, it revealed a small auto shop inside. Landing Kitty got up and walked to a white door and opened it before gesturing to everyone inside. The inside opened up to a small living room complete with a nice couch, end tables, and a couple of comfy looking chairs. There was a doorway leading to a kitchen and a hallway leading to what Newbie assumed was the bedroom and bathroom.
"Alright new guy, take a seat. I'm sure you have questions." Kitty said as she sat on the couch with Johnny joining her. Sitting down he looks at the other three ghosts.
"So where are we?"
"Well, we're in the ghost zone. If the name didn't give it away that's means you're a ghost too." Johnny said before Kitty slapped him lightly for his lack of tact.
"So I, I died." Newbie said.
"Maybe." Johnny said.
"How is it maybe I'm either dead or I'm not." The three ghosts looked at each other before coming to a silent agreement. Tell him the basics before telling him about halfas.
"Well," Kitty began. "Theres actually two types of ghosts. Spirits and specters. Spirits are ghosts who were born in the ghost zone. Specters as you can guess use to be from the human realm."
"Really, how does someone know which one they are?"
"Well there's three main ways, memory, shape, and power. Most specters have their memories from their past life but not always. Specters normally keep a humanoid body and how powerful a ghost is, Spirits are more powerful than most specters but that depends on the spirit." Ember explained.
"Wait there's more than one type of spirit as well?"
"Yep. There's regular, elemental, and nature spirits. Regular spirits just have more powerful set of the run of the mill ghost powers. Elemental spirits have a connection to a certain element like plants, dreams, or weather. Then there's nature spirits, some of most powerful ghosts out there. They have such a strong connection to their element that if anything happened to them it will affect Earth and the element they're connected to." Ember said to the newbie's shock.
"Really?" Kitty nodded her head.
"And all that's left is to figure which are you. I'm pretty sure you are a specter."
"Are you sure babe? I'm mean with all that lightning he was shooting I would guess elemental." Johnny pointed out.
"Hmm you have a point, Johnny. Maybe you can try to remember something." Kitty said.
"How?"
"I don't know, relax and just think?" Kitty shrugged. She wasn't an expert on amnesia or the mind, that was more Penny's thing and including her would be a recipe for disaster.
The newbie closed his eyes and took a breath. He tried to think of anything, anything at all that could be from his past.
XXXXXXX
Looking down at his homework he lets out a groan.
"Why does Mr.Lancer have to be such a pain."
"Don't let him get to you Danny. Sooner or later, he'll get what's coming to him." He looked up to see an older teenager, but her face was missing, like someone scratched out an old photo.
"The day that happens Jazz is the day Dash becomes a math whiz." Despite not seeing her face he felt she gave a caring smile.
"We'll see little brother, we'll see."
XXXXXXX
"Hey! Hey! Stay with us new blood!" His eyes snapped open, he was breathing hard, a rush of emotions that he couldn't understand but did at the same time. He was so confused, like he was falling but standing still. He didn't know what to do, what to say, what to think! Before he spiraled any further, he felt a pair of warm hands on his face as he looks into a pair of concerned eyes.
"Breathe with me newbie. One two breathe in, one two breathe out. Good, now again." Ember coasted. Soon the unknown ghost was calm again. Kitty was impressed, she never knew her friend was able to help someone out of a panic attack.
"Thanks. Sorry I don't…"
"It happens newbie. Don't force your memories, they'll come back to you in time, alright." Ember advised. Soon enough the newbie was breathing easy again.
"So do you remember anything?" Johnny asked, breaking the silence.
"Johnny!" Kitty and Ember hissed. Luckily for the bad luck ghost the newbie did nod.
"A sister. I have an older sister. I can't remember her name or what she even looks like." Ember put a finger on his lips stopping him.
"Hey none of that. You remembered her, that's what's important. Like I said the rest will come in time alright." Seeing him nod she smirked.
"Good, now you need a name dipstick. I'm pretty sure you are sick of being called newbie." She wasn't wrong, he was already getting annoyed by that name. He put some thought into it before he thought of a name, it didn't feel right but that's probably because he knew it wasn't his real name but it's all he had.
"Wraith. Call me Wraith."
"A bit on the nose but that's normal." Johnny shrugged.
"Alright it's getting late, and we all had a long day. Ember, take the guest room, Wraith, you can have the couch and the bathroom is down the hall on the right. Johnny and I will have some clothes for you in the morning."
"Are you sure?" Wraith asked.
"Trust me Wraith, Kitty has over shopped enough times where I haven't even tried on some of those clothes." Johnny snorted.
"You would if you simply changed outfits more often." Kitty countered.
"Why fix what's not broken." Ember rolled her eyes; she had heard this before and decided to simply call it a night.
"Well good night, Wraith and remember those breathing exercises got it?"
"Got it and thank you." He watched her smirk and follow the still bickering couple down the hall. Laying down on the couch he thought of his new…Friends? Friends and wondered what tomorrow will bring.
There we are! Chapter one complete!
