Prologue
Long ago in Greece, in the temple of the goddess Anithea, there lived a priestess who worshipped said goddess every day. The villagers went to the temple only to admire the beautiful priestess over the goddess which started to frustrate her. Although the Prietress was beautiful and had loyalty to the goddess she was vain, selfish, and unkind. She took advantage of their generosity thinking she could get away with anything due to her beauty and that she has her purity due to being Anithea's priestess.
One day the sea god Posiwin arrived at the temple, and when his eyes first saw the woman, he fell in love with the vain priestess. He tried wooing her with gifts and charms, but she rejected him, calling his trinkets trash. When he tried again, it seemed to work only for the vain woman to call him a repulsive fish. Enraged by her rejection, he chased her through the temple and mated with her while she was praying to her goddess for help.
The fish then did her in front of the statue of the goddess looking down on them. After being satisfied with what he'd done, the sea god fled the temple just as Anithea arrived at her domain to see her priestess, worn and panicking, with her clothes torn and her hair a mess. The priestess begged the goddess to punish the sea god for defiling the temple. Anithea was enraged that the girl had allowed herself to be taken advantage of in her temple.
The priestess was enraged and then shouted at the goddess for not going after the sea god for what he had done. More angered by the Priestess trying to order her what to do the goddess sees that she feels no remorse over what she's done. As punishment, she turns the once beautiful Priestess into a hideous Gorgon.
The transformation itself was very painful to the point the priestess tried to apologize but it was too back started to grow wings, her once soft skin became scales, her luscious hair became snakes, her hands were now claws with nails sharp as brass, her feet became talons and her face was revolting as it was now snake-like and her teeth became fangs.
The now transformed Priestess fled the temple and tried to get help from the villagers but when someone looked at her they turned to stone. The other villagers thinking she was attacking them chased The Gorgon was exiled from the village and ran further into the woods. Repulsed after seeing her reflection in the water. her hideous form the gorgon hid herself away finding shelter inside a ruined temple of the goddess she now despised.
With her sanity slowly crumbling away with each day and night she became more and more of the monster the world and gods claimed her to be. Many warriors came to stay the beast for the goddess but just like her heart, they all became stone to decorate the ruins around the temple she calls home.
