On Berserker Island:

It had been almost a week, 5 to 6 days, since Chief Oswald and his deranged son, Dagur, left for Berk, another tribe in the Archipelago that was southwest of them. Chief Oswald left with a small fleet of 6 ships under his command, just so the two tribes can renew their peace treaty.

Thora had been hanging out with her friends in the central plaza of Berserker Island. She and the rest of the Berserker children are glad that Chief Oswald took Dagur with him. Sure, Dagur's probably harassing & bullying the children of Berk, but they were just glad that Dagur was gone and wasn't tormenting any of the Berserker children.

Thora was just sitting with her two friends, Sigrid and Maria, on a ledge overlooking the training arena, watching Sven, her other friend, practicing with a group of boys about how to fight with wooden swords, and there were a couple of boys studying something in the corner of the arena.

"This last week has been so great. Dagur is gone and we haven't been raided by dragons or attacked by other tribes this week." Maria said, thinking back to earlier that week when Oswald took Dagur, half the fleet to Berk. "Speaking of Dagur, is it bad that I hope that Dagur got picked off by a Monstrous Nightmare while at Berk?"

Thora looked over at Maria, her ginger-haired, green-eyed friend. "I have to agree. Berserker Island without Dagur is nice. It's actually peaceful."

"I wish it would but don't give our hopes up." Sigrid muttered, as she kept her gaze on the boys who were practicing fighting. "Our luck, Dagur would just kill the dragon, come back here, feed us to Gronckle and then kill it."

Thora turned her head to look at Sigrid, her blue eyed, blonde haired friend. "Well, that's why we can dream or fantasize about Dagur dying. It's better than nothing." Thora said, in a tone that sounded hopeful as she put her arms around both girls. Out of the three of them, Thora was the rock that held their friendship together, and she could easily keep both girls in-line despite Sigrid being a year older than her.

"True." Sigrid muttered, after a few moments, before giving her friend a light smile. The three girls continued watching the group of boys, around their age, in a comfortable silence.

After what might've been an hour, a sound of a blaring horn goes off in the distance, followed by several other horns, which are much closer. The young boys in the arena stopped what they were doing, and the three girls got up from where they were sitting. The horns being sounded usually meant that someone was returning, a dragon attack, a raid by other tribes, or used in Viking funerals. "What's happening?" Maria asked, loudly to anyone who would answer.

"Chief Oswald has been sighted on the horizon." A man said, from behind them. Thora turned around to see who said that and she laid her eyes on her older brother, Finn. He was taller and stronger than her, which didn't stop the two from playfully fighting from time to time. He also resembled their father with with his forest green eyes and dark brown hair, compared to Thora who looked more like her mother with her dirty blonde hair, and gray eyes. "Let's get to the docks."

Thora shared a look with her friends, who seemed to be slightly terrified at the thought of Dagur returning, and she could see the look of the young boys, and they seemed slightly worried, as the group of children left the training arena, passed through their tribe's market, and then their village, as they walked towards the docks. There were Berserker villagers and soldiers approaching the docks also.

Thora stood with her friends, and her brother, along with the rest of the Berserker children, on a hill overlooking the docks (about 30 feet above the docsk. She could see the lead ship, Chief Oswald's flagship, as it becomes the first ship to dock. The first person to step off the ship and onto the docks was a bulky, 5'10", 250 pound man with green eyes. The man had a large gray beard, tied off in small knots at the end, a metal helmet with horns directly on the sides of it. He was wearing a leather vest, a light green shortsleeve tunic, leather arm bracers with metal studs, a large brown belt with metal studs and a gold emblem of a face on it, brown trousers, and boots. He had a long dagger in his sheath and a pouch attached to his belt. He was carrying a long axe with a bearded blade. That man was Chief Oswald, who greeted those who came to meet him.

"Berserkers. It is good to be back! The peace treaty has been renewed!" Chief Oswald said, as the people gathered were happy to hear about their chief's success, before turning to his second in command. "I trust everything went smoothly, Hroald?"

"Aye, Chief. Everything has been fine." Hroald responded, as the two men walked up the path leading from the docks to the village. Thora and her friends began walking away when they noticed a red haired boy jump off the ship, and immediately harass one of the guards.

"And there is Dagur, alive and well. Thanks for getting my hopes up." Sigrid said, as the group of Berserker children quickly left the hill overlooking the docks and returned to where they were earlier. One thing they learned is that, avoid Dagur so you don't become his current obsession.

A week later, and the situation with their neighboring tribe, the Murky Swamp Tribe, another tribe to the north of them, declared war on the Berserker Tribe. Chief Oswald left with a majority of the Berserker soldiers, including Thora's father, while leaving Hroald in charge. Unfortunately, he also left Dagur behind as well, and during the first part of the week, Dagur seemed to become obsessed with Thora's friend, Sigrid. Sigrid just ignored him, and he eventually took the hint and moved on to someone else, and that someone happened to be Thora.

Thora was in the training arena with Sven, another boy her age, as they practiced fighting with practice swords. Thora figured that it can't hurt to learn how to defend herself considering that they were either fighting dragons or other tribes. Thora and Sven stopped what they were doing and looked up at the sound of clapping, only to see Dagur standing near the entrance. "Well, both of you look good." Dagur said, with clapping obnoxiously.

"What do you want Dagur?" Thora asked, as she and Sven shared a look, before looking at Daur.

"Can't I just spend time with my sister and brother?" Dagur asked, pretending to be hurt.

"No, we definitely aren't related to you, Dagur." Sven said, looking at Dagur. "Do you even know our names?"

"You are Finn's sister, right? Thorkatla or something like that." Dagur asked, looking at both of them with that crazy smile.

"Sure, why not." Thora muttered. "Do you actually need something or do you just plan on annoying us?"

"Oh wait, it's Thora." Dagur said, with a suddent realization. "As to why I'm here, I just wanted to let you know that in a few years, I will request an arranged marriage from your father."

Thora just stared at him, and she wasn't sure if he was serious or just trying to get under someone's skin. "I doubt that." Thora said, looking at Dagur. Everybody on Berserker Island knew that Dagur was abusive, deranged, and very manipulative, so they never could tell if he was serious or not.

"So, Dagur. Why are you here and bothering us?" Sven asked again, looking at Dagur.

"Oh, that. I came to test your reflexes in a fight." Dagur said, as he pulled a iron sword out of it's sheath.

Thora and Sven looked concerned when Dagur pulled out a real sword, so Sven ran over to edge of the training arena to grab a couple swords from a pile of weapons used to kill dragons.

"Two against one. This should be fun." Dagur said, laughing his crazy and evil laugh, before he charged at the two kids. Thora and Sven held their ground as best as they could, despite Dagur being stronger. The three of them were fighting, while passerbys assumed they were sparring, for half an hour. Thora did manage to wound him on his right arm, Sven got a good hit on him also, but Dagur managed to injured both of them. Sven did manage to get the sword out of his hands, and quickly knocked him out. Thora and Sven stood there catching their breath, while looking at the unconscious Dagur, before looking at each other, before going to see the healer. They came back sometime later and saw that Dagur was gone, probably looking for them or harassing someone else.

Two weeks later:

Chief Oswald and his fleet returned to Berserker Island after signing a temporary truce with the Chiefess Aslaug of the Murky Swamp Tribe, and they weren't sure when the hostilties with flair back up.

The chief and his forces had been back for a few days before Chief Oswald had the island crowd into the great hall, where he outed people who had betrayed him on the battlefield. "Thora Henriksson. I've been told that you have tried to kill my son and heir, Dagur. Viggó Henriksson has betrayed me to the Murky Swamp Tribe. The Henriksson family, you are hearby exiled and you will be killed if you ever return here. To the other traitors, you are banished to Outcast Island." Chief Oswald said, looking out at the crowd gathered in the great hall.

Chief Oswald walked past the crowd, briefly stopped near the Henrikssons, gave Thora, Finn and Thora's mother, and gave them a look, that could've been regretful, but he quickly shook it off and left the building. "Hey Thora. I'll be waiting for my chance to kill you once you leave." Dagur said, appearing before Thora with a inappropriate smile on his face, while laughing maniacally, as Thora glared at him after he left. Not long afterwards, Thora and her family gathered their most important items and began leaving for the docks.

A few moments later, the crowd dispersed and Berserker soldiers began preparing ships for those that were leaving. Thora was standing on the docks with Sigrid, Maria and Sven as the ship was getting prepared. She told her friends what had actually happened involving Dagur, and they were surprised that Dagur went with the attempted assassination story. Thora hugged her friends goodbye, as she boarded the ship shortly after. Thora's family was already onboard, along with another family.

Chief Oswald came down to the docks to watch as the ships departed from the island. Thora couldn't read Chief Oswald's face that well, but she could've sworn that she saw something resembling saddness appear when he looked at the ship she was on. The Berserker villagers just watched as the ship with the exiled families and two other ships with Berserker soldiers, just either to depend the exiled families until they reached their destination. The ships started sailing southwest, away from Berserker Island, as the exiled families watched their home disappear from view, and they found themselves looking to the horizon for their new home to appear into view.

10 hours later:

The ships carrying the exiled Berserkers arrived and docked at the first island that was inhabited with people, which they recognized it as the Island of Berk. The Berserker soldiers, on the ships, watched as the two exiled families took their things and stepped onto the docks.

Thora looked at Berk's villagers who were standing near and above the docks, looking at the exiled Berserker families, crowding on the docks. Now, they just had to get settled, if they were allowed to, and they would have to get used to the whispers, gossip, and accusations that the Hooligan vikings send their way.

"What's going on here?" A loud voice called out. Thora turned in the direction of the voice and saw two men walking towards them. The first male was a very muscular and tall man with green eyes and a red beard, who Thora recognized as Chief Stoick, the chief of the Hooligan tribe, and she recognized him from past trips where he traveled to Berserker Island to meet with Chief Oswald to renew a peace treaty. The second male was a large, muscular short man with a long blonde mustache, and had prosthetics replacing his left hand and right leg. The man currently had a hook prosthetic on his arm, but Thora wasn't sure who he was but assumed he was important to some degree.

The Berserker herald snapped to attention at the sound of Berk's chief. "Ah Chief Stoick. These two families, the Kristoffersen and Henriksson families, have been exiled by orders of Chief Oswald of the Berserker Tribe. They can't returned for fear of death, and we had orders to sail for the closest inhabited island, which is here." The Berserker herald said, looking at Berk's chief. "Is it acceptable for them to settle here or should we try somewhere else?"

Chief Stoick furrowed his brow for a moment before turning to talk to the man next to him. "Yes, these two families are accepted here. Henriksson and Kristofferson families, I welcome you to Berk." Chief Stoick said, as the Berserker herald returned to the ship and the three ships started sailing back for Berserker Island. "I hope you acquaint yourselves here since it will be your new home, and we will help you, if you need it." With that Chief Stoick and the hook arm man began walking away as the two families followed them away from the docks and into the village.

The families followed Chief Stoick up the paths leading from the docks and into the village. The other vikings stopped what they were doing and stared at the new arrivals. Some of the vikings were whispering and pointing at them but the exiled Berserkers will have to get used to it. The two exiled families were given two homes, which weren't being occupied by Berk's vikings, so they were living amongst Berk's vikings, but those homes were within sight of Chief Stoick's home so that he could keep an eye on them.

A few days later:

Viggó Henriksson was standing outside Berk's training arena with his daughter, Thora, standing beside him. He had a short steel sword in his hand, and another one still sheathed on his belt. "Alright Thora. Your mother and I think it's a good idea for you to learn how to fight to defend yourself against others. And your mother will teach you how to be a healer also." Viggó said, as he handed his daughter the short steel sword as the man and his daughter walked inside the empty training arena, while she just nodded in response. Viggó was proud of his daughter when he learned that she and Sven managed to fend off Dagur together but he realized that she need to learn to defend herself when she was alone, and since Berk has constant dragon raids, he's hoping that this will be useful in the future.

Viggó grabbed a shield and handed it to Thora, who raised the shield in front of her and prepared her sword for any attacks. "Thora, be prepared for anything." Viggó said, as he charged with his sword raised above his head, only for Thora to raise the shield to block the sword. "Also, I'm helping you learn how to fight so you can defend yourself. I don't think you'll be killing anything, unlike your brother."

"Thanks dad for helping me with this." Thora said, as she lunged her sword at his legs, only for him to block it with the armor on his legs. She then lunged forward again to hit him in the arm but was stopped by his armor on his arms.

It was Viggó's turn this time. He lightly shoved the shield back, which threw her off balance. He then knocked away her shield from her hand, but she quickly caught on to what he was trying to do as they both locked blades.

Viggó kept his head focused as Thora's blade made contact with his. His daughter seemed to be unfocused, as she lunged and made contact with his blade. The two kept sparring as they parried, blocked, and hit their blades together. Thora wasn't sure how long their sparring training session was going on, but it felt like it went on long enough. The sparring session had ended when Viggó knocked the sword out of his daughter's hand, tripped her so that she fell onto her back, and held the sword up to her neck. Thora sat up slightly and groaned when she realized that she had been beaten.

"You did good, Thora." Viggó said, with a light smile as he lowered the sword, and held out a hand to help get Thora onto her feet. "You did good for your first time."

"Actually, I've had a few sparring lessions with Finn back home." Thora admitted sheepishly, as she bent over to grab her fallen sword.

"Ah. That makes more sense." Viggó said, as he hugged his daughter. "Proud of you."

"Let's go again." Thora said, after a few moments, and they both got into position. Viggó's eyes happened to look back towards the entrance to the training ring, and he decided that today's sparring lesson was enough, and they could go again later.

"It appears that you have an admirer." Viggó said, once he noticed Chief Stoick's son, Hiccup, watching the father-daughter sparring match. Viggó hasn't been on Berk long but he definitely noticed that Hiccup doesn't have any friends, is usually bullied by the other Hooligan kids, ignored by his father, and just generally disliked by the Hooligan vikings. The only person that seemed to be on friendly terms with him was the village blacksmith named Gobber.

"Who?" Thora asked, looking around until she spotted Chief Stoick's son. "Oh, him. He can watch."

"Thora, I think it might be helpful for both of you if you became friends with him. He doesn't have anyone aside from the village blacksmith." Viggó said, looking at his daughter. "From what I understand, he has a creative mind. You might be able to help with his creative ideas or help defend him from being bullied by the other children."

Thora looked at her father and back in Hiccup's direction. She figured that Hiccup was essentially the village outcast since his father never spoke of him, and he was never seen with anyone except the village blacksmith. She was an outcast in this village, and she shared that with Hiccup. "It can't hurt having a friend here." Thora said, looking at the sword before handing it back to her father. "I'll go hang out with him." Her father just nodded in response as Thora ran out of the training arena and up to where Hiccup was.

Viggó sheathed his sword, and the sword his daughter was using, and walked up the entrance to the training arena, and began walking back to the village. He spotted Thora and Hiccup standing near the training arena, they were talking about something, and both of them seemed happy that they had someone to talk to. Viggó had a light smile on his face since he was glad that Thora, and especially Hiccup, had a friend here. Of course, that meant that he'd have to train with Thora to help her protect Hiccup from the other children, but he was glad to do it.

Notes:

The location of Berserker Island isn't that obvious. I did find two different locations for it from two different sources though: one source says it is located between Breaknog Bog, Outcast Island and Berk, so that leaves them somewhere to the east of Berk, west of Outcast Island, and south of Breakneck Bog. I saw a map when watching Race to the Edge, and it looked like it showed that Berserker Island, or something that looks like Berserker Island, was to the northeast of Berk. I'm not entirely sure where it is, so I just placed the island to the northeast of Berk.

Distance wise, Breakneck Bog is about 10 hours from Berk, so Berserker Island will be 8 hours from Berk. Berserker Island is about 2 hours from Breakneck Bog, and 4 hours from the Murkey Swamp tribe and their island. (The Murky Swamp tribe is my fictional tribe and it's location is also fictional, and the Distance between Breakneck Bog and Berserker Island is also fictional)

Thora is the same age as Hiccup, so she's about 7 or 8 here, and Dagur is ~12. From what I understand, Dagur's at least 3 or 4 years older than Hiccup. And judging from dialogue regarding Dagur in Riders & Defenders of Berk, Dagur takes pleasure or entertainment from bullying and torturing people (which sounds totally in-character for him, now that I think about it.)

Thora's brother Finn is about 3 years older than her.

I know the names that I'm using aren't viking accurate, but then again, neither are some of the names throughout the HTTYD series. At the very least, I gave them (my OCs) Nordic names of some sort, instead of just being named after objects. I've used a mix of Viking, Icelandic, Danish, Swedish and Norwegian names for characters.

As for the description of Oswald the Agreeable, I'm basing it off concept art of him.
