After the court trial was interrupted, Captain Amelia furiously dragged her niece into her office. "I don't believe… I have just had enough of you, young lady!" she spat.
Venus shouted, "You're the one who wants to…"
The captain criticized, "You've shown off in front of everybody, including me!"
"I don't care…"
"The whole trial was a disaster because of you! You don't know what you were doing!" clamored Amelia as she closed the door.
Venus started, "Just listen…"
"I… am the captain!" her aunt interrupted. "You… listen to ME!"
Venus screamed, "Agh! This is unfair!"
Amelia scoffed, "Unfair?!"
"You never understand me!" cried Venus. "This stupid trial for Silver is what you want! Have you ever bothered to ask what I want? No! All you ever do is hover over me, telling me what to do and what not to do, trying to be like you. Well, I'm not going to be like you!"
"Oh, you're behaving like a child," said Amelia.
"And you're the devil! That's what you really are!" Venus shouted angrily as she drew her dagger and walked over to the family painting.
Amelia gasped, "Venus!"
Her niece touched the dagger's tip onto the painting and continued, "I will never be like you!"
"Venus, you stop that right now!" her aunt protested.
"For ruining everything in my life and Silver's, I would rather DIE THAN BE LIKE YOU!" she yelled, slashing her dagger on the painting, tearing a gap between her and Amelia.
The captain gasped in total shock with her hands over her mouth at what her niece had said and done before she spoke up. "How dare you speak like that to your aunt?! I am trying to protect you!"
"You're taking Silver away from me!" exclaimed Venus. "He was more like a father to me than you ever were like a parent! You're nothing but my father's sister, and that's all you ever will be!"
Amelia scolded, "I have tried so hard to protect you for years, and this is how you show your gratitude?!" Then she ordered, "You are forbidden to speak to that blasted pirate ever again! Not a single word!"
Glaring in fury with bitterness in her heart, Venus refused to follow that rule. "I hate you, Aunt Amelia! I HATE YOU!" exploded back the young girl.
Venus ran to the door, fuming with rage. "Venus, where are you…? Venus, get back here at once!" Captain Amelia demanded, going after her.
"No! Don't bother following me! I NEVER want to be stuck with you for the rest of my life!" shrieked Venus.
"Venus, stop! VENUS!" the captain cried out to Venus as she ran outside and slammed the door before Amelia could stop her.
