The bar was full, and Toph was a little out of her comfort zone. Not that the fighting, and abrasive patrons were a bother for her, but the sheer amount of alcohol. And the sorry state of him. Katara was worried for her older brother. She hadn't heard from him in two days and called Toph in a panic. Despite the age difference between the water tribe man they had become good friends on their travels, and it wasn't surprising Katara had thought Toph would know where he was. Truth was, she hadn't at first. It wasn't until she had gone to his house first and found a sight that made her blood boil. After that it wasn't hard to know where he had gone. She was angry, and betrayed even though it wasn't her place to be. But she had liked Suki, and trusted her with Sokka's heart. To find the woman fighting with a man crying and all the signs of panic was shocking. Hearing the words "it was a mistake! You need to go!" Was enough to have her storming away from the house she hadn't even entered. She was sure Suki hadn't even seen her. To find her friend at a table in the bar, slumped on a table, was a little heartbreaking. The barman had said he'd been here since the night before. Which meant Suki's 'friend' had come back. Toph could only guess when Sokka had found out. She sat down next to Sokka, banging the stone table with the side of her fist and eying his almost empty bottle of beer frowning at the numerous other empty ones she could 'see'. He had drank with friends after the war, he had gone to his first bar a little over a year after. Toph had never gone, in fact, besides the time they had gone with Zuko to find June she had never been to a bar. Even now at seventeen. It didn't appeal to her. With a sigh she clapped her hand on his back between his shoulder blades and he sprung up. His hand landing over the tips of her fingers looking for his boomerang.

"Easy Snoozles. Just me" she spoke and enjoyed how he immediately relaxed under her hand.

"Oh, hey Toph" he said deflated and she wasn't a fan of the tone. In fact the urge to go kick Suki's ass arose but she stayed put. He needed her now, she could feel him shaking underneath her

"Come on, Snoozles. Let's get you into a bed" she sighed standing up to put his arm over her shoulder as she put her other arm around his waist.

"Sure. I can crash at yours, right?" He asked and she only nodded to answer the question.

"Anytime" she added as they left the bar. Toph ignored the way she saw people turn to watch them. Sure she was small but she was much stronger than she looked, if push came to shove she was confident she could carry him back.

The war had left the world scarred and Aang was working endlessly, with Zuko to help the world recover. Sokka had planned to make a city, somewhere everyone can meld together and help the people heal. Taking the notion Aang had mentioned and make in a real thing. The fact the nations was an 'illusion' and had only become separate because of human arrogance. Sokka was certain it would help the world heal better. Toph wasn't convinced. People were awful and greedy and it was always going to lead to problems. The fact no war was around didn't change people being killed in their own homes, or attacked. But it was important to him, so she offered to help where she could.

-

She placed him on her bed and sighed as he landed on his stomach barely conscious and rambling about his pain. Usually, Toph didn't have the patience for these situations, and she certainly didn't have the tact for it either. But Sokka knew that, and he still always came to her when he needed someone to talk to. Not that she would ever admit it but she had always been happy for it. Moving to her kitchen she went to get him some water, it probably won't be much use but couldn't hurt to try. On the way back she had grasped the situation pretty clearly. And frankly Suki was going to have to leave the country if she didn't want Toph on her ass. The nerve to cheat on someone as loyal as Sokka was idiotic. Not to mention how much he had supported and cared for her, Toph had seen him politely turn down women time and time again and ended up bragging about Suki. And it just made the girls swoon more. She didn't understand it if she was honest. Sure it was nice to see her friends settle down, but she didn't see herself being the type. Mostly because people annoyed her but she knew the big reason.

She leant against her door frame and looked at the man sulking on her bed. He had just ruined men for her, he was funny, and smart, he had no bending but he was so resourceful. He was so carefree that people often made the mistake he was a pushover. That he wouldn't fight for those he cared for. And nobody seemed to take it into account that he ended up with one of the strongest women because he could keep up. And he didn't mind that, Toph had learnt he liked being underestimated, because it makes it easier to get what he needs to do done. Even after the war one thing Toph hated to hear were people laugh and joke about how Sokka was probably only there because his sister was. As if he hadn't broken his leg, or dislocated his shoulder when he refused to let her go. Or that he gave up his most prized possession with the sliver of a chance it would save her. To this day she was trying to find it. An idea popped into her head and she made a mental note to get in touch with Zuko.

She moved from the door and sat next to Sokka.

"Come on, Snoozles. Drink this!" She ordered and he groaned as he sat himself up leaning heavily on her. Rolling her eyes she pulled his leg up so she could take his shoes off.

"We can figure this out!" He yelled suddenly causing Toph to drop his other shoe.

"What are ya going on about?" She asked and yelped out in surprise when his arms were suddenly around her waist and pulling her against his chest. Her heart was pounding harder than rocks colliding and her back felt like it was on fire.

"Why did she do it?" He asked his head against her shoulder. She was taller now, but still very small compared to Sokka. It had to be uncomfortable. She turned to face him, feeling a little lost having her feet off the ground, blind. But she feels her chin against his head. So she can picture how they looked, and it was enough to cause that feeling that only Sokka could bring out in her.

"Hey, it's her loss Sokka" Toph said, softly. Softer than she liked. "She's not worth all this. If she is too stupid to appreciate you that's nothing to weep about" Toph had gone on but had to stop when she felt his nose brush her bottom lip as he sat up, to look at her, she assumed. She could smell the alcohol, and feel the warmth of his breath on her face. She hated how easily she lost herself when they were alone. It had been five years and her childhood crush hadn't deminished a bit. But she had accepted years ago he would never see her that way. She was the tomboy, earthbending prodigy. The one he would only see as a kid. She had been fine with it and supported his pursuit of Suki.

Before she could pull herself together, move back and make some space. She had felt him move forward and she had to force herself to move back. Not that she would mind him kissing her in his grief, she'd take it. But she wasn't entirely sure he knew who she was, given his rambling before grabbing her.

"Hey" he almost whined and she had to sigh against it

"Sokka" she asked firmly and he moaned, his answer she assumed "do you know where you are?" She asked

"Course. I'm at your place" he said and his voice was a little slurred.

"And who am I?" She asked and smirked at the indignant snort from him.

"Toph" he answered his arm tightening around her waist and she couldn't contain the flutter in her stomach.

"And you just tried to kiss me" she informed him, honestly expecting him to be surprised by the information.

"That's okay" he said cheerfully and she chuckled and shook her head. As if it was his permission needed. Which she supposed it was, he was wasted.

"Go to sleep, moron" she ordered pushing his chest so he fell back and lay down.

-

She woke up to hot hands on her, under her vest, roaming her belly. Frowning as the hard chest against her back was flush against her. She had gone to sleep over her covers, to keep them separated. She must have gotten cold and gotten under them. And Sokka must have pulled her to him. Hot breath was at the back of her neck and she knew the shiver couldn't be contained. His arm tightened around her waist and pulled her ever closer to him.

"Sokka?" She says meakly and her breath left her as his lips came to the nape of her neck

"I'm fine" he whispered and his lips moved to the left and she couldn't remember how to breathe. She'd been to war, laid seige to a kings mansion, beat full grown proffesional fighter. And never had she ever been so shaken. "I'm Sokka, you're Toph" he whispered "and I'm trying to distract myself. Please forgive me" his mouth was now at the side of her neck, his hands never moving to any intimate areas and she knew. He was aware, at least right now he was. Whether he'd remember in the morning she was still unsure. But her chest was heaving from the heat, the butterflies and the tingle of his lips on her neck. His hold on her was desperate, and only tightened as his lips travelled up to her jaw. Pleading for her to help him. So she did what she always did, she trusted him. He may not remember this but she knew he would be the man she loved. She'd never kissed anyone. Not on the lips. The incident with Suki and the serpent never happened she had all but decided. So she turned in his arms and slowly lifted her hand to his face. The tips of her thumbs at the bottom of his lip.

"Okay" she said smoothly. Refusing to show her nerves, even to the very drunk Sokka. She couldn't see him, but she could feel him. And she let her hands guide her as she moved her head up to meet his lips.

The butterflies in her stomach went from a few to an entire kaleidoscope and it took her breath away as his lips moved against hers. She felt as if she was falling from somewhere high, her insides were shaking as she tried to breathe. His tongue brushed her bottom lip as his arm under her side moved as she felt his hand go back under her vest to run up her spine. She had to pull away, taking a quick, desperate breath in. He chased her, claiming her lips again as he rolled them over, laying over her. His left hand came to her face, his right to her hip bone his thumb rubbing circles.

"Breathe through your nose" he whispered pulling away for that brief moment before sealing his lips with hers. And she was so far gone, so buried in the feeling she didn't even complain. She only listened to his advice.

Nothing had ever felt so good, she couldn't imagine anything feeling better. And as his hand ran up her stomach, over her side his fingers stopping at her bra to move around it she couldn't understand why Suki would throw this away. He was drunk, and no doubt not as coordinated and this was pure bliss. His pushed his hips into her and groaned and she thought she felt something in his pocket. The sound had her tensing as the urge to roll her hips hit her. She wrapped her arms around his neck pulling him closer. Their tongues touched and her moan was completely involuntary as their hips rolled together and a tingle in her lower regions shot through her. That wasn't something in his pocket, she realised and felt an ache begin.

"Fuck" Sokka groaned pulling back and lowering himself to put his head on her heaving chest. Toph could only lay there, letting herself breathe. What was that? She wondered and looked down to where he would be. Her eyes were wide, she could feel it and she wished she could see him. He was breathing just as heavy and he was so tense. She ran her hands over his shoulders and down his arms. They were coiled, as if he was holding onto something desperately. And she realised, her brain clearing. This was getting dangerously close to sex, and he was holding himself back. And again, she was hit with full force of her love for him. Her hands took his face, making him look up to her, hoping he could see her sincerity

"It's okay" she nodded

"No" he breathed shaking his head gently "absolutely not"

"I am hap-"

"Toph, no" he said firmly and she tried, she really really tried not to feel rejected "no way is your first time going to be a drunken asshole trying to make himself feel better" he spat out and the smirk on her face was immediate

"Pretty sure thats exactly how it's gonna go" she snorted. Which was true. Toph wasn't the dating type, guys were intimidated, whether by her name, her blindness or her bending. It was just impossible to get someone to consider dating her. Because she had tried, Sokka was taken, and preparing to propose and just out of her reach. Only older men seemed to be interested and she wasn't too keen on a one night stand with a stranger to be her introduction to sex, even if it is likely going to be that way.

"Nonesense" he disagreed and his determination and faith in her appeal softened her

"If you were sober, you'd see the evidence" she pointed out and steeled her nerves. "I trust you. And you need this. Tell me what to do, and I'll help you" she said her tone more steady and confident than she felt. Because truth be told she had always thought her first time would be some pointless one night stand, and she'd come to accept that. If she by some miracle -and very unfortunate turn of events for Sokka- he was the one to do it. Well she felt luckier than she had anticipated. And he was hurting, if she could help ease that, even just for a little bit. She wanted to. So she moved her hands from him and wiggled them to the hem of her vest to pull it up over her head. She heard his nails scratch against the sheet and her hands moved to his chest lowering to go under his shirt. He had really worked out, she could feel the rise and fall of his abs as she trailed her hands up his torso, lifting his top with her, his chest was hard and she could feel the heavy pounding of his increased heart rate

"Toph" he choked out, an attempted warning she assumed.

"Come on commander" she purred out "command me" and smirked at the jump of his heart. But he didn't move and she sighed gripping his shoulders since he refused to move his arms and let her take his top off "I am giving my full consent Sokka. I won't blame you in the morning" she said then felt the heat on her face "besides... I was really enjoying it" she said quietly. Not sure why it was cause for embarrassment.

"Me too" He assured her with a sigh and she felt his knuckles brush her shoulder as he sat up between her legs. And she blinked as her hands fell from him, she pushed up on her elbows frowning at him "I'm sorry Toph, I shouldn't have..." his voice sounded lost and it stabbed at her in her chest. She hated how defeated he sounded, how his body was shaking slightly.

"I'm not" she said smoothly and sat up ignoring the way her legs were either side of him. And she put her arms around his shoulders to hug him and after a moment he put his arms around her waist

"I'm just... I'm not thinking clearly" he explained "I can't believe after everything she would-" he cut off holding her tighter. She didn't complain about how this was very much a mushy moment. He needed it. Though her advice would be questionable, her sincerity isn't. She cares for their self made family. And Sokka more than anyone, she would be more that willing to dive out of her comfort zone for him.

"I know. And that's okay I really don't mind"

"You should. You can't let guys treat you like this" he pouted

"Well, good thing it's you then, Sokka" she rolled her eyes and he went ridged against her she could just picture his frown, the look of confused annoyance on his face. The one he made when she teased him when he Always forgot for a moment she was blind.

"What does that mean?" He asked

"It means I wouldn't let it slide if it were anyone else" she admitted sensing his 'why' she took a deep breath "I trust you, and I care" she fake shivered on the word "about you. If you need a drunken, senseless round of sex just to feel better I can allow that. Even now, drunk and clearly horny, you're taking me into account. From what I've seen, most men would take the consent and dive right in" then she shrugged softly

"That is because men are scum" he said his tone grumpy and she nodded against his shoulder

"Definitely. Ugh I should kick you to the curb now" she huffed and smiled at the small chuckle that came from him. "No seriously, get out" she added and he pulled back letting her go. She was now cold only in her bra, and no longer wrapped in his body heat.

"I don't deserve you" he huffed moving from her and pulling the covers back over her

"I know" she deadpanned which was a huge lie. Because she believed it was her who didn't deserve him.

This is... well I have no idea but I enjoyed writing this one. It came out of nowhere and I may or may not add more it is really very unclear to me.

Hope you all Enjoy it too!
