Part 3

During the weekend, Della fixed Perry a light breakfast since he was recovering from his illness. While Della ran errands, Perry rested in the comfort of their home. After Della visited the salon, she stopped over at the Mason's estate. Although the Mason's enjoyed Della's visit, they missed their son and were disappointed, especially Perry's father. They had planned on a fishing trip come the following weekend, but that plan was short lived when Della informed him that Perry might be attending a wedding at the last minute.
During the work week, Perry kept his distance and did not touch her in the office, and it was pure punishment for him as his desire for her grew stronger by the minute. The thought of traveling alone to visit her cousin troubled Della, but she would travel with or without Perry. Perry pondered whether he would attend the wedding or stay home in Los Angeles. His fingers longed to touch Della, especially in the office.
As the couple settled in for the evening, Della appeared from the bathroom in her silk robe and night gown. Perry came from the living room and leaned up against the door of their bedroom and watched her get ready for bed. Now was his chance to pounce on her because he couldn't control himself around her. Della pulled her luggage out of the closet and before she looked at her choices of wardrobe. Perry suddenly wrapped his hands around her waist and gently pulled her to him. He nuzzled her ear and Della leaned back against his broad chest.
"Perry, you're breaking the rules, and you went all week without touching me." Della whispered to him and placed her hands on his wrists.
"Yes, I am, and when I was sick, I listened to my wife and thought about my answer. While I was under the weather, you were my dutiful wife all week long, so I made my decision." Perry whispered against her ear.
"Chief, what is your answer?" Della tilted her head back to look at him with a sideways glance. He scrunched his brow for a moment as he licked his bottom lip.
"I will go with you, Della, but under one condition." Perry blatantly told her before he continued with his answer.
"If your cousin chases me the entire duration that we are in attendance, "YOU ARE" going to tell her that I am off limits. Della, since she is your cousin, and you must be the one to correct her concerning me because if I say something, it's not going to end well for her." Perry walked towards the closet and carried his luggage to the bed and started packing.
"Fine, if that's what you want, Perry, I have no problem with enforcing that, I'm sure she will understand once I set her down and talk to her." Della replied with a smirk on her lips while he turned around and looked for his outfit.
After Della looked at his choice of clothing, she stepped up and picked out a nice dress shirt that was one of her favorites and tossed it into his luggage. In bewilderment, Perry looked at her before he finally picked out a favorite outfit of hers and also placed it into her luggage when she wasn't looking. When Della turned around and looked at her luggage, she smiled at him.
"Perry, I haven't made flight arrangements yet because I wasn't sure of your answer. I need to call the airlines and book our flight." Della closed her luggage and walked out of the room.
As Della made their reservations, Perry heard hesitation in Della's voice and wondered about their last-minute itineraries. They usually had no issues when they needed airline tickets, but the delay, was worrying Perry. Della's voice cracked from the strain, and he knew something was wrong with their last-minute reservations.
"Della, what's wrong?" Perry asked when he joined her in the living room.
"Perry, the airlines are all booked. How are we going to travel by train or car and arrive at the wedding on time?" Della was heartbroken because they would arrive late to the ceremony, but Perry had a smile on his lips.
"Della, don't worry. I have a plan. We can use my father's private plane. He will understand our problem and let us use it if he's not taking it out this weekend. I'll call him now." Perry took the phone from her hand and placed it in its cradle then redialed for the operator.
"Are you sure Perry? What if….." Della's mind was occupied with negative thoughts while Perry listened for his father's voice on the other end of the phone.
As Perry conversed with his father and explained their situation, he reassured her with a smile that everything would be just fine. Della sighed and walked back to the bedroom while Perry finished his conversation with his father.
"It's all been taken care of Della, and tomorrow morning we're taking my father's private jet once I call the pilot." Perry called out to her as he phoned the pilot and informed him of their departure in the morning.
Meanwhile, Della chose another outfit for the wedding and looked in Perry's closet for a nice pair of dark blue jeans and matching dress shirt. Since her cousin's wedding was going to be a simple one, it wasn't an extravagant one but Della and Perry were wearing the latest fashions. As Perry finished his phone call and placed the receiver back on the cradle, he saw Della as she browsed his closet and contemplated which outfit, he looked dashing in around the family brought a smile to his lips as he entered the bedroom. While Della chose the shirt that she thought would be perfect, she felt his presence behind her.
"Della, what are you doing?" He peered over her shoulder and took the dress shirt from her hand.
"Perry, I'm trying to match our outfits. I know this shirt coordinates well with the blue jeans, but I'm having a hard time choosing one that I really like." Della scrunched her brow while Perry sat down on the edge of the bed and looked up at her.
"I like the one with the pearl buttons which will blend in perfectly for the wedding." Perry eyed the article of clothing in her hand before he grabbed her hand and pulled her between his parted his legs while she giggled at him.
"Perry, you look good in anything, but I want us to wear coordinating outfits." She kissed him on the lips when he lowered his hands from her waist and cupped her bottom. While he pulled her toward him, the ringing of the phone interrupted their kiss. She sighed against his eager lips, and he groaned in disapproval. He lowered his head into the valley of her breasts before he looked up at her with pleading eyes to ignore the constant ringing of the phone.
"Della, forget the phone." Perry kissed her breast while she threaded her fingers through his dark hair and scratched his scalp.
"What if it's our parents or Paul?" Della whispered to him as she tugged on his hair to get his attention. He groaned with disappointment and opened his legs as she escaped his clutches and returned to the living room where she picked up the ringing phone. While she spoke on the phone, Perry had other ideas and eavesdropped on the conversation.
By the sound of Della's voice, he realized that it wasn't an emergency. Della's mother voice carried through the receiver while they conversated about the wedding. After she rambled on for a while, Della explained their situation with the use of Perry's father's private plane since they couldn't get last minute airline tickets.
Perry busied himself in the bedroom and found his favorite negligée of hers and tossed it into her open luggage. He smiled and quietly watched her in the living room. While Della's back was turned to him, she twisted the phone cord in between her fingers and listened as her mother spoke about the guest list. Although Perry wasn't thrilled about going to the wedding, Della was happy that he was accompanying her and that her cousin Linda had other plans which didn't involve Perry.
Perry approached Della and snaked his large hands around her before he nuzzled her neck and kissed her earlobe. Della gasped at the sensation as his tongue teased her while his nose drifted into her curls and caused her to pause abruptly midsentence.
"Della, are you okay?" Her mother questioned her.
"Everything is fine and I'm sure Perry won't get lost like he did the first time we visited." Della hummed in the back of her throat and leaned against him. Perry placed butterfly kisses on her neck and pushed the fabric away from her shoulder where he kissed her. Della grabbed his hand and laced her fingers with his.
"Della, you have a safe flight out, and we'll meet you at Victoria's. Tell Perry Hello for me, and I can't wait to see him." Her mother bid her goodbye.
Della turned slowly around, placed her arms behind his neck, and looked up at him with a slight blush on her cheeks. Since he was feeling better, Della leaned back in his strong grip. He looked down at her and gazed at the beauty before him. He cleared his throat and squeezed her bottom gently but firmly.
"What made you change your mind, Perry? Was it something I said that you thought about because I know how you feel about my cousin, Linda." Della whispered to him before she slowly and passionately kissed him on his mouth which left them breathless.
"Since I'm feeling much better now, I had time to think and thought it wasn't a good idea for you to travel alone. Although you are a married woman, you shouldn't be traveling without her husband." He cleared his throat and looked down at her chest before she nudged him between his legs, which got his attention, and he closed his eyes as she caressed him.
"Perry, what were you trying to tell me?" She huskily whispered to him as he lowered his head to hers. He captured her mouth in a slow, passionate kiss, picked her up in his arms, and carried her back to the bedroom.
"Perry! We can't be doing this right now! Put me down! We have a long flight tomorrow morning…." Della giggled between his kisses and sighed as he lowered her to the bed and removed her nightgown and his shirt.
"Della, all week long I wanted to touch you and it's time that I'm rewarded." Perry tossed his shirt on the floor while Della watched him reach for his waistband and suddenly covered his hands with hers.
"Yes, I think you should be rewarded because you saved the day. However, you thought your wife would travel solo to the countryside for a family wedding and meet a handsome man along the way." Her words aroused him as she touched his broad chest and halted his advancement on her. She tugged at his waistband roughly and he chuckled at her ministrations.
"Della, I'm shocked that you would secretly meet someone on the side and keep your faithful husband in the dark." He accused her and suspiciously looked at her.
"Counselor, if I traveled alone, I could accidently meet a nice, handsome, prominent man on my trip. As you know, it would be impossible and forbidden on my account, but you wouldn't let that happen either. Would you?" Della raised her eyebrow, and watched the changing expressions on his brooding face as she rubbed his forearms.
"Della, when we exchanged vows, we both said, for better or worse and till death do us part." Perry's eyes admired her body as she stood before him, and he touched her cheek.
"I'll never forgot that day, Perry." Della's hazel eyes sparkled in the lamp light when she smiled. Perry caressed her cheek and her lips with his index finger. He pulled her forward in an embrace and kissed her deeply before he gently pulled away from her. At the loss of his touch, Della looked at him with desire in her eyes and took his hand in hers before she pulled him toward the edge of the mattress.
Perry caressed her slender arms and her bosom as she released a sigh between her soft lips and she gently pushed his chest until he fell back onto the bed. As he relaxed onto the mattress, she straddled his massive torso, he placed both of his hands on her waist and steadied her. After she passionately kissed him, he chuckled at her with a lustful look in his eyes.
Perry rolled her beneath him and covered her completely as he noticed the wanton desire in her hazel eyes. He paused for a moment and committed to memory the loving look that she always gave him before they made love. He pleasured her in every possible way, and her satisfaction was the only thing that mattered to him when they made love. In the throes of passion exhausted from their love making Della lay on his heaving chest peppering kisses on his chest as he caressed her lower back and her curls.
"I'm glad I'm not going alone, Perry but I was surprised that you agreed to my ultimatum." Della stroked his sparse chest hair with her fingernails.
"You are surprised, Della? You know that I would never deny any of your requests and, I knew what would have happened if I didn't agree with you." He sighed and caressed her hip with his large palm.
"What would that be Chief?" Della smoothed her palm on his chest before he took it in his hand and kissed her knuckles.
"Perry Mason, would be in the hot seat with his wife and secretary. He would have a lot of explaining to do why he disagreed with his wife about going with her to her family wedding. The end result would be I had to explain to the rest of her family, why I didn't come." Perry chuckled while Della lifted her head to capture his lips.
"You better believe it, Perry. It's one thing when you tell a client the word "No", but when you tell your wife and secretary "No" you will need to explain why." Della rested her head under his chin and snuggled up against him relaxing into his embrace.
